PAINTING AMERICA

They came the same day I called to do the estimate. The painting was started two weeks later and completed in one week. They were efficient, clean and quiet. Excellent customer service. They called daily to check on how they were doing. I am going to have them paint the interior next.

Rick was very courteous and prompt in returning my calls. He came out and gave us an estimate and, later, his color consultant also came out to help us select the colors. Rick provided paint samples to let us visualize the color combinations. The work required about two weeks, as a lot of prep work (scraping, cleaning, sanding, etc.) had to be done prior to the priming and painting. Overall, Rick is very meticulous, but his instructions did not carry down through his painters. We are satisfied with the painting, but his crew was very sloppy. They left trash, cigarette butts, in the yard. They also left paint overspray and paint drips on the cement walkways. They came out and did a little clean up, but I really expected to see the cement walkways as clean or cleaner than when they started the job.

They were punctual, friendly, and clean. They performed as per quotes in a timely fashion. Rick is consumer oriented and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction. Cleanup could have been better, but all in all they did an excellent job.

Despite the advance payment for a guaranteed start date the crew (usually one, but never more than 3 painters) arrived in late afternoon and insisted on painting after dark & on weekends which was against the Homeowners Rules. They consistently missed the promised completion dates and were so far behind they began slapping paint on with out any prep, doing damage to the woodwork, floors, mirrors, and fixtures. Rick insisted that 85% of the work was done when the bathrooms, kitchen and pantry, and 15 very intricate casement window had not even been touched. Not one room was completed, and the prep work he promised was never done. He insisted on a total of $3575 to be paid at the end of the first day when no work had been done except taping the floors. He wanted another $1462. After he oversprayed the hardwood floors, carpet, corian countertops and mirrors with oil based paint and neglected to plug the freezer back in causing water damage to the floors, then served me with lien papers.

Rick Carter was really wonderful although very late for first appt. His color decorator was very helpful although we ended up disliking the colors after placed on walls. The painters themselves were horrible. So bad that Rick supposedly fired one when he saw what a sloppy job was done. To this day, 6 months later, there are still drips of paint on my new wood floors and down the wall as well. He offered to come back and fix this messy job but never got back in touch with us. I didn't call him either since it was just easier getting someone in who was able to do a better job. I paid the new painters what I owed in the balance to Rick's company. The whole process was a nightmare. They said I could have someone stay in my home with the dog but the first day came and I was told absolutely not. They also painted from 9pm to early morning so no one even if they wanted to would be able to be in the house. Yes, Rick was great but he didn't do the painting.

THIS WAS THE BEST COMPANY I EVER HAD WORK DONE FROM. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN THE LIVING ROOM WAS DONE IT WAS DUSTED, FURNITURE REPLACED AND PICTURES HUNG ON WALL. THIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL PREVAILED THROUGHOUT THE JOB. STAFF WAS ON TIME, AND CLEANED UP THEIR MESS EVERYDAY. THEY DID SUCH A GOOD JOB THAT WE WERE ABLE TO LIVE IN THE HOUSE DURING THE PAINTING (AN UNEXPECTED PLUS). I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW GOOD THIS COMPANY IS. THEY PROVIDED A COLOR CONSULTANT, AND AS A RESULT WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL UNIQUE HOUSE. RICK CARTER THE OWNER IS UNBELIEVABLE IN HIS ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING. THE REST OF THE STAFF INCLUDED 2 MASTER PAINTERS THAT WERE ALSO EXCELLENT. THE JOB WAS DONE ON TIME, AND RICK WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO DO LITTLE THINGS I ASKED HIM TO DO. THE PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE AND MORE THAN FAIR FOR THE AMOUNT OF WORK DONE. I AM HAPPY TO TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND RICK. I HAVE NEVER MET ANY CONTRACTOR LIKE HIM, AND WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN!

I had some trouble getting in touch with Rick for an estimate due to personal illness on his part, but once we touched bases he followed through very nicely on what we had discussed, including starting the job on the promised date. The crew was very prompt in showing up on each day and cleaned up after themselves. I was able to leave the garage door opener with them each day so they could paint the trim around the doors without fear of it being left open by mistake or things disappearing. They did paint the front door trim the wrong color which I discovered after coming home from a short trip (they had finished the painting while I was gone), but Rick came out and repainted the trim himself. I was very impressed by this company.

Overall, Painting America did a spectacularly great job. Rick Carter provided us excellent updates on the proceedings of the job and the work went very well. We are extremely pleased with the results and the professional nature of Painting America's workers and staff. The painting job we requested seemed a bit complicated with lots of hand work, yet we felt like the quote was very reasonable. The results are impressive. We would highly recommend them to anyone interested in having their house painted and will likely use them again for painting of our interior.

This contractor did a remarkable job at the price quoted, despite providing many extra services that were not contracted for in the original price. They have even stored one of our doors and some hardware until the current tenants move out and the existing door w/doggie door can be replaced. These workers are really more like craftsmen. Their work is impeccable, and they are completely professional, on time, prepared, flexible, and courteous. There is always the unexpected in every job, but Painting America handled all events like pros. I would whole heartedly recommend this company to friends and neighbors.

Workmanship for preparation and painting was first-rate. Ancillary considerations less so. (Some mess, breakage of hardware without informing me, lack of respect for owner's property, etc) No single breach was serious, the aggravation was they were annoying, mostly because the crew failed to inform me of any problems or mistakes, I had to discover them myself. The lack of communication was a problem. They were by far the most expensive of the three companies that bid the project, but also did the most complete preparation.

Very professional owner, great responsiveness, good price and great outcome. Unfortunately some of the workers were very sloppy and a lot of work had to be retouched over again. But the owner made sure we were happy at the end. Exceptional result.

Rick Carter was on time for the estimate and his manner was very professional. Additionally, Rick was helpful with suggestions on additional improvements I could make to my exterior. As part of the price, Rick sent out a Color Consultant to discuss color options with me. The only downside was that it took longer than expected to complete the job. The very big upside was that they took their time to do it right! They were meticulous and would repaint an area until it looked right. My house looks amazing. Rick's quote wasn't the lowest, but he did what he said he was going to do and he did it right. It shows in the final product. I plan on hiring them again for my interior!

Rick was extremely professional from the first time we met him. His knowledge and attention to detail were the primary reason we hired him. Rick's passion for his job is apparent, and he really cares about making his client's happy. Rick's crew was extremely efficient (3 days) and the work was high-quality. Throughout the process Rick was very involved and took the time to discuss the project in great detail before, during and after. He was very patient with us when we were indecisive about colors. We even rescheduled the job once. He understood how hard it can be to select the right color and not only reassured us about moving forward, but gave us suggestions to break the job down into smaller projects if it would make us feel more confident in our choices. We couldn't be happier with the final result. The ceiling, wall and door colors are gorgeous and really transform the look and feel of the house. I'm glad we took the extra time to select the colors. Rick is worth the wait!

The painters were very courteous and competent. After the first coat of paint in the living room, I had second thoughts about the color I had chosen, and the painters kindly insisted I should be happy with the color and that they would repaint it the next day. I took them up on the offer and am much happier with my second choice! This is the second job I have had this company do this year. A few months ago, they painted my bathroom. It is a very busy company, so it is not easy to book them, but they do a great job prepping, painting, and cleaning up and the contact person--Rick-- really cares about his customers and painters.

Great coordination between Rick who contracted the work and Brian and Martin who executed. Rick was great at staying connected to the project and being available for questions. Very professional, good conscientiousness about limiting spillage, plant damage, etc. estimated job duration 5 days, when it looked like it might go longer, they added extra guys to the job to get it done. Even after having been paid in full, Rick/Brian did a great job on following through with some minor mends. I really appreciated this alot! Martin quite professional painter, quality of job high, very good at overseeing his team on the job and the quality of their work. Also, really appreciated the color-consultant feature of the contract. Anita's expertise helped us choose colors that really represent us. Result: We got a very professional, quality paint job in beautiful colors.

I would like to Thank Rick Carter and Painting America Corporation for providing my Wife and I ''SERVICE ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY''. All work schedules have been kept on time; information provided has been accurate and reliable. We found that Painting America Corporations pricing were fair and competitive. We certainly will use their Painting Service as our first choice in the future.

Unsure of what colors we wanted, Rick's color consultant came out and helped us choose a wonderful color scheme. Another company removed the acoustic ceiling and resurfaced it. Rick's painters smoothed out some bubbles in the ceiling that the other contractor left. While the painters were still there, we had carpet installed. The carpet installers did some damage to the walls and the painters repaired the damage, at no extra charge. The major work was completed on time. After we moved into our new house, some final touches were added; including a creative use of decorative molding. The molding was used in a hallway to separate a bold color from our main house color. It's very striking. We are very pleased with the exceptional quality, attention to detail and personal service that Rick and his painters provided. I have recommended Painting America very highly to family and friends. It was a pleasure doing business with Rick and Painting America.

Three other painters said removing the wallpaper was not possible, because it was on paneling. These guys removed everything! Walls are smooth. They had to do some extra work and installed some dry wall in the bathroom but only charge for materials. Everything looks really fabulous. Started on time and finished ten days later on time. A BIG and complicated job, but they did it when others said it couldn't be done. I can't recommend them highly enough. Rick is a real artist and a perfectionist. He is a big help is noticing many finishing touches to complete the job.

My experience with Painting America was excellent. They are very responsive, timely and the quality of their work is very high. I was hoping they would be as good as they seemed, when the estimator kept pointing out the problem areas that they would fix, that no other company had bothered to mention. And they delivered on all of those promises. The work occurred during some rains and every day I received a call letting me know what progress they would be able to make that day.

He was on time and I was surprised at how clean and pressed he was, especially since it was 6:00 in the evening. I appreciated the fact that he arrived on time and subsequently presented a very detailed and professionally prepared estimate. I thought his pricing was a bit high, so I selected another company. However in retrospect, I probably should have selected this company.

Top to bottom, this was the best experience I've had with work done on my house. We had put off painting for so long, and this was the first company I called from Angie's List. Upon meeting Rick Carter, the President & CEO, I knew this was who I wanted to work with. Everything was performed as promised, on time and on budget. Rick and his team are first rate all the way.

All of the workers were on time & polite. They even touched-up a hole in the kitchen cabinet exterior- going beyond the contract to make the place look better. They cleaned up after themselves & completed on time.

The process was extremely pleasant. A bidder came out to look at the property and then the company President responded a couple days later with a formal quote. After hashing out the details I provided the company with a $100 deposit and we where off to the races. The company sent a representative to do the painting and that person took their time, about 17 hours to do both rooms. Seems like a long time but they really took their time to do it right. I just had new hardwood floors put in and not a drop on them. I would recommend to anyone.

I was getting married and needed the guest bathroom painted in a hurry. From the beginning, dealing with this company was great. They returned my calls immediately, were prompt and courteous. They made a stressful situation easier..They did a wonderful, quality job and I could not be more pleased. They even gave us a wedding card!!
