I took my car In to purchase a new battery and have it installed. The gentleman at the desk was so cordial and professional. I also mentioned the $50.00 off coupon for the initial visit, which he readily accepted! My car was immediately checked out, and everything was completed within 30 minutes. I was very pleased with the whole experience. I will definitely go back to this Auto Center. As a woman, I felt very comfortable here!

I had to have my car towed by AAA after being in Long Beach for only two months and not knowing anyone to give me a recommendation. The AAA operator suggested Joe's shop and I could not have been happier! Joe fixed my car's problem along with a variety of other minor issues (without additional charge) at a more than fair price! I highly recommend this kind man for everyone.

I've actually have used them 2 or 3 times already. I'm actually planning to take all my other cars there this week.

The thing I like most about Joe, he's honest. I was told by the Dealer that I needed a new water pump around $1000. I took my car to Joe for a 2nd opinion. Joe said I don't need one, he was right. He services our family's three cars & I totally trust. him. He, his wife & son are all involved in the business. There all nice people and a pleasure with witch to do business. His prices are fair. He is a little inconvenient, but it's worth because I know,what I'm getting

I found Joe's Auto Center through Angie's List over a year ago and have consistently remained satisfied with its level of service. While repair and maintenance costs are cheaper elsewhere, I have appreciated the efforts Joe and his crew take to be personable, comprehensive, and professional. Joe has taken the time to explain his work, showing me what repairs he has made and the parts he replaced. I brought in my Honda Pilot after experiencing problems with the gear shifter. After several hours, Joe called me to provide me results of his inspection and diagnosis. He explained the issue was a detent spring that was beyond his scope of expertise. When I returned to the shop to retrieve my SUV, I was not charged for any labor and was given printouts of diagrams and details of the transmission area of concern. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful finding another repair shop to resolve the problem. I have called numerous shops who do not know what a detent spring is and/or want to charge a minimum of $100+ just to do an initial inspection. Although Joe's Auto Center was unable to repair my most recent automotive problem, I remain grateful for Joe's professional and honest approach to repairs and intend to continue business there.

He is an ideal owner of a repair shop that I have not encountered since I was may be 30 years old. He takes care of things- he doesn't do the work but makes sure that everything gets done. He also recommends other service people for things like small checks and body repair because he knows them. He is very special and the people he employs are the same. I have never had an issue for anything that has been done there. I take the care in, they drive me back home - that is a service that they provide. They also come and pick me up and I get my car. He never charges for anything that doesn't need to be done and the estimate is right on with the prices. He is just a very honest and decent person. I have been having my vehicle taken there for ten years. He is one of those special people that you want to hold on to. He is just as decent and nice as he is professional- it matters to him that you are well served and pleased.

Professional, honest, fast service. Had my Toyota tacoma check doe to engine light on as well as some vibration while idle. Joe found the problem right away, call me and had it done the following day. This is the only place I go to take my cars. Worth the drive from lakewood.

They were very good, tell you the prices, they did in a time of matter and they are courteous. I would use them again in the future.

As always, Joe and his wife are extremely polite, and what a pleasant surprise to be greeted by name by Joe when I walked up to the counter! With all the customers he has, and the fact I had not been in for over a month, and he still remembered my name which I thought was AWESOME :). Joe took down the details and said he'd contact me later in the day with the result of his review of the issues. He phoned about 3 hours later with the results, and the work was completed by that afternoon, and was actually less than originally quoted as he found out there was a part quoted my car was not equipped with, so it was not replaced. Joe took the extra time when I arrived to pick up the car to point out this difference in the (unlikely) event I took the car elsewhere and they discovered that part was not needed.

I dropped it off on Monday morning without any prior warning to Joe, and he was able to determine it had to do with a bad valve which was part of the exhaust system. He gave me two scenarios; one where he could flush the system and clean the valve, or worst case, the valve would need to be replaced. I let him know whichever he found was acceptable, and to proceed with the repairs on Tuesday. Joe phoned just after noon to say the valve needed to be replaced, and the car was ready. He also explained what the ABS light was about, and we decided it did not need to be worked on as the cost of the parts would be more than the car was worth, and he assured me it would not affect braking in normal Southern California weather. As a result of Joe's work, I took the car the next day and the smog test passed! Yay!

It went amazingly well! I am a fairly new transplant to the area and am very happy to have found Joe's, via AngiesList. I have an older truck that needs some TLC for lack of funds over the years. Joe said to bring it in for a full evaluation at no cost!!! It is my intention to drive this truck into the ground and am hoping to have Joe get her going well enough to keep my AAA card in my wallet. I will definitely be back and would recommend Joe's to anyone!

I own a minivan and I use it for work, I put a bunch of miles on it and it frequently needs repairs. When it's down I can't work. It's not the prettiest vehicle on the road but it's very important to my livelihood. I had been to my old mechanic twice because I could smell gas when I drove my van and even when it was parked. Both times I left my van there for several hours and was told there wasn't a fuel leak. I don't even think they took more than five minutes to look at it each time. I was frustrated so I came to Angies list to look for a new mechanic. Joe's was highly rated so I decided to give them a try. WOW what a difference! I arrived late in the afternoon and I was greeted immediately when I showed up, Joe gave me plenty of time to explain what was going on with my car. He asked me to leave it overnight and he would look at it first thing in the morning. He also asked if I needed a ride anyplace or if he could arrange a rental car for me. A couple hours later I received a call from him, he had made time to look at it that evening. He explained the repairs and gave me a quote. My van was repaired by the end of business the next day. Joe took the time to explain the repairs, and provided me with a computer generated receipt, that I could actually read instead of the hand written scribble I'm used to getting at my old mechanic. He let me know I could go online to his website at anytime and get a history of repairs and he explained the many benefits of using a Triple A approved and Napa Auto center. I'm sold. I have never been treated better at a mechanic shop and I'd been faithfully going to my old mechanic for several years and never experienced the level of professionalism and customer care that Joe's provided. The shop is clean and the waiting room had wi-fi AND magazines other than Road and Track!

I was given a quote from another auto shop and it seemed a little expensive. Using Angie's list, I researched auto shops within 10 miles of my home and called three of them. When I talked to Joe's Auto Shop, they let me speak to Joe, the owner. It was late on a Thursday night and he took a lot of time talking to me about my car. I had an estimate in front of me so I was able to give him details. He called me back within 15 minutes--past his closing time--and gave me an estimate that was too good to be true. I made an appointment for the next morning. They took me in immediately. After putting the car on a lift, they had me come over to look at the problem. One of the things the other body shop said we needed, Joe's said we did not need it and showed me why. The thermostat was clearly a problem as there was coolant leaking from somewhere. Joe was worried that it might take longer than a day so he took me to a Hertz rental shop, helped me get a rental car and I was on my way. The next day, when we picked up the car, the work was completed, they comped the rent car, and had detailed the Cadillac. The work was $900.00 LESS that the quote from the other shop. I have never been as pleased with any store I have done business with. And I know I should not end my sentence with a preposition!! I wish you guys had A+ ratings. I willl absolutely use Joe's for anything the car will need--even simple oil changes--and I will recommend, without reservation, Joe's Auto Shop to all my friends. South Bay Ford gave us an estimate of $1,400 to repair three oil leaks in the 2004 Ford Mustang. So we decided to get a second estimate from Joe's Auto Center in Long Beach, CA. Will, who was very professional, told us he would inspect the car and call us. Will called us in a timely manner and and told us that the Mustang required a repair of the one oil leak that he was sure of at a cost of approximately $700.00. Will told us that before he could determine if there were additional oil leaks, we should take the car to a shop for steam cleaning. Joe's Auto Center repaired the leak and gave us a two year warranty on the labor and parts. That's unheard of. I was very pleased with Joe's Auto Center.

Will was the service advisor that I spoke with. He was informative and so helpful. He advised me of another problem but told me that it was something that I could monitor on a weekly basis and it would save me another $800 or $900 capital outlay at the present time. A nearby dealership had told me about replacing the motor mounts, a leaking water pump that needed to be replaced, valve gaskets that needed to be replaced, totaling about $3500 to $4000 and that it needed to be done right away. Will said the water pump was not leaking and the valve and gaskets were not so bad that they needed to be replaced. He told me there was no danger in driving the car and that if I saw any huge change like puddles of oil underneath the car, then I was good to go. I appreciated their honesty and advice.

Joe's and his whole team are amazing. They were fast, efficient, trustworthy and got my car back up and running quickly. I diagnosed what I thought was wrong with the car when I took it in and Joe was thoughtful and listened. He fixed the problem quickly and even did a recharge on my air conditioning at no charge! This will definitely be the place that takes care of my car for as long as I live in Long Beach.

My Honda was stalling at low speeds, they diagnosed the problem, gave it an overdue tuneup and oil change and cleaned the injectors. They gave me a ride to the shop, the car ran well afterwards, and I was pleased with the service.

It went ok overall. They were more pricey and took longer than expected. I think with most mechanics being fair is a difficult task. I felt in this category it was ok and thus made my overall rating ok.

Mazda dealer was unable to identify why air conditioning was not functioning. Joe's Auto was highly rated on Angie's List so I took my car in and they were able to identify the problem within a couple hours. The air conditioner was repaired the same day and is working great! I will continue to take my vehicles to Joe's Auto Service.

My brakes suddenly started making a bad noise. I stopped at Joe's late on a Friday afternoon to ask about it. His mechanic drove it and said the speed sensor was out and it was not safe to drive. My elderly mother was very ill and I could not be without a car in case I had to go to her home over the weekend. Joe made sure I had another car to use and thanks to him I was able to be with my mother when she passed away that weekend. The car was fixed a day early because they stayed late when the part came in to install it. I've used Joe for several years and I've never had any reason to question his work. He is a scrupulously honest business man and a good person. I'll continue to use and to trust him with any car I may have and to recommend him without reservation to everyone.

Thru AAA California I was able to get an oil change and tire rotation for $35.00. Can not beat the price. They were quick and professional. They dropped me off at home and picked me up when the car was ready. Can not beat the price or the service.
