JIM'S ENTERPRISES MOVING

They showed up on time, started right away and completed quickly - and we had 22 very steep steps to navigate. They arrived at our new home just 1/2 hour after us (off the clock) and had the furniture moved in even faster. Nothing was damaged and they even charged less than the original estimate, which was by the hour.

They did a good job and it took a minimum of two hours for two men to move the furniture. It was very heavy and they had a rough time with it. The guys who came out were big too. They were very professional and nice people. They were honest and told me what it was going to be. They were a few minutes late but that was understandable. I would use their services in the future too.

(I first wanted to mention that this company is listed on their info page as having no insurance. I was concerned about that and asked about that before I scheduled anything. I was told by Jim's Moving that this was a mistake and that they were insured. They intended to correct that mistake.) Paul and Danny were right on time. They were both very polite and respectful. They wrapped each piece of furniture carefully to protect it and everything was delivered to the house without any damage. They asked in which room each piece should be placed. They asked if the washer needed to be installed at the house. It didn't need to be, but it was good to know that they could do it if needed. There is absolutely no communication problems, such as language, etc. They both appeared to be experienced at their work and worked well together. I will be making a major move in about 2 months and will definitely use this company for that move.

I selected Jim's from Angie's List because of a good review and the fact that they are licensed by the CPUC. Jim gave me a reasonable quote, and immediately met my requested move date. My movers were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 & 8:30 a.m. They arrived at 7:45 - when does anyone EVER show up EARLY? They first confirmed rates & fees with me, and then they went straight to work. They were fast, careful, pleasant, and very, very helpful. They provided wardrobe boxes at no charge, and had plenty of straps, padding & other boxes available as necessary. When moving into my condo, the stairway thing was very problematic, but they cheerfully overcame every obstacle. And rather than slowing down or carrying lighter loads, which would have increased the charges by the hour, they steamed right through. The final cost was less than I anticipated, and the moving time from door-to-door was extremely reasonable. I have never used a moving company before, so I don't know what a typical experience is. But I do know what THIS moving experience was - painless and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Jim's Enterprises. If you can, ask for Paul & Danny - they're really great guys.

I found Jim's Movers to be fast, friendly, professional and careful. I found Jim's through the California Public Utilites commission website. As of Feb '08, Jim's Movers had an active permit under CA Public Utilities Commission and they've been in business for 35 years. I thought all movers had to have a permit but apparently there are many that don't and many that have had their licenses revoked. So one should be careful in who they hire. Jim gave an accurate estimate and did not hide anything about the pricing or what to expect the day of the move. So many movers do not do that. I had a good feeling about the company on the phone and the sevices were consistent with my initial impression. Was very happy with the quality of the work. The reason the price of the move was so low was because i moved much of my stuff before the professional movers showed up. It's a good way to save money.
