Del Mar Landscaping

Conrad from Del Mar Landscaping was great to deal with from when I recieved and estimate to the completion of the job. the job was pretty extensive because my front lawn had been neglected for some time before I purchased the house and was in need of some serious work. I have a large magnolia tree with a root system that had overtaken most of the front yard. Conrad's crew roto tilled the entire yard and removed all the roots (in some spot by hand). They replaced the ancient galvanized pipe sprinklers and installed a new PVC pipe sprinkler system with new anti-siphon valves and timer. They installed a drip watering system for my front planter and finally laid a beautiful new Marathon sod lawn. From beginig to end the job took just over a week. Conrad and his crew were very professional and great to work with.

After 3 years of total neglect, my large back yard desperately needed some tree trimming, cleanup and weeds removed. I called several contractors, some would not even considerate it as it was too much work. Conrad was not phased by the appearance of the yard and gave me a fair estimate. I hesitated as it was a lot of money and decided maybe I could do it myself - but being a senior citizen soon realized it was beyond me, so after checking other options decided to go ahead with Del Mar. It only took a few days for them to start and the crew and Conrad arrived promptly at 8am and got started right away. They worked so hard all day long and took out dead shrubs, roots and all, cleaned out every weed I had in the yard and carefully avoided damaging a large lantana that has been attracting so many butterflies. The trees and all the shrubs were trimmed and look great, and the bouganvillea is now under control. The ground was turned over after the weeds were removed which makes it much easier for me to plant some new shrubs. Their work ethic was very professional and even though I made several requests they were met with a smile. I am so impressed with the final job - the best I have seen in years. The cleanup was amazing, Conrad walked around with me to check I was satisified and even removed a couple of shrubs at the last minute that I decided I did not want. They also mowed my lawn after it all ( I do not have a gardener, so this was a big help) and Conrad took the time to repair a broken front sprinkler that I had not been able to fix. I would highly recommend Del Mar Lanscape to anyone that needs work done and plan to use them again for some additional work I will need in the future. Thanks again, Conrad - I am enjoying sitting out in the garden once more.

Conrad and his team were great from start to finish. Conrad was quick to respond and punctual in our meetings (except for 1 but hey it's LA traffic and it happens!). He laid out the approach, was knowledgeable about options and based on other estimates fair on pricing. He was open to communicating via email as I tend to work crazy hours and phone is difficult. The work was done in a single day with good quality and the yard looks great. The team went above and beyond in helping us with the sprinkler system and Conrad even checked back a week later when I thought one of the drip hoses wasn't working (it actually was). Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I will be using Del Mar in the future.

The end product looks great. Conrad and his workers work hard, do a professional job, and clean up. Conrad said that we can call him back if we need anything.

Del Mar did a wonderful job and made the yard look great. They were also very patient with my grandmother which I appreciated.

Called Del Mar on 9/8/2012 @ 8:40 AM. No answer, so I left a voicemail message briefly describing the problem I was having with one of the stations on my 3-station watering system. I did not receive a callback until 9/12/2012 @ 3:56 PM. By that time I had already contacted another Angie's List contractor and had the work done. Obviously, this company has ample work and is not interested in small jobs. However, that does not excuse the length of time to respond to my call. If they didn't want the work, the proper thing to have done would have been to call me and tell me so. I will not waste my time contacting Del Mar in the future.

The crew was on time and did a great job removing the old lawn from the front yard and parkways in preparation for converting my yard to garden through Long Beach's Lawn to Garden program. They cleaned up everything before they left and confirmed that my existing sprinkler system was working properly. They were very professional and I would not hesitate to hire them in the future for my landscaping needs.

Very kind people. Especially the owner, Conrad. He originally gave me a $750 estimate - which I thought was too much - but I received an estimate of $600 from someone else - and Conrad matched it. My yard looked great once they were through with it.

Work was done in a timely way and to our specifications.

Conrad was great, came out gave me a fair estimate, and set a date to begin. He showed up on time, cleaned up my tree line in my back yard, removed the bushes and trees in front of my house and planted new flowers. After finishing, they cleaned everything up and walked me thru everything that was performed to make sure i was satisfied. A great experience from start to finish. Definitely would use again

He was pleasant and the gentlemen who did the brick work was good, but I didn’t get the sense that he knew whole lot about the plants themselves. I took care of the arborist work and he planted the plants. He also did some sprinkler work for me.

Conrad is personable and has more reasonable rates than other people. When he is there, he is an A. Getting in contact with him is not an A. He disappears for two weeks.

Extensive weeds and bushes had overgrown over a period of months in front and back yards. I met Mr. Romero at the property on a Tuesday to discuss what was needed. He was courteous and professional. Two days later he and his team showed up promptly and devoured the weeds in a one-day period. They trimmed two large bushes in the front. They came prepared with the necessary equipment to get the job done. Afterwards, all cuttings and debris were hauled away. I would definitely call Del Mar Landscaping in the future for maintenance on this property.

We just moved to town. The yard was in bad shape, and my husband invited 50 people for a BBQ. I had about 10 days to get the yard done. I talked to Conrad of Del Mar Landscaping. He was amazing. He came by the next day, and we came up a plan. He was able to fit me into his schedule. The crew got rid of tons of dead plants, replaced sod, and mulched the entire yard front and back. They got it done in plenty of time, and it looks great! Conrad and his crew did an incredible job!

Conrad came personally to give the estimate on the work to be done. He was pleasant and offered a very fair and reasonable price including the Angie's List discount. He took a lot of time during the estimate to answer all of our questions. Very impressive. He called us within 2 weeks post-estimate, as he had promised, to start the work. Conrad was always present at the work site while the work progressed. He was safe and had many workers assisting. Conrad and his crew handled the workload in stride. He completed the job in 2 days. This was mostly due to the clean up and haul away process I believe. He had 2 truckloads of green waste in total. He cleaned thouroughly. Every branch and leaf that had fallen was gathered and disposed of. He even cleaned the roof where the leaves had fallen. He went way above what I had expected. Nobody has ever trimmed our shrubs and trees so beautifully the way Conrad and his crew did. He is the first in over 20 years of living in our house to do such a thorough, complete and professional job. We will definitely call Del Mar Landscaping for all of our yard and tree needs. They are a must hire!

Went very well, there were no surprises and no additional fees. Conrad explained everything to me and showed me just how the first contractor did not elevate the sprinkler heads high enough to do a good job in watering. After his repairs he checked all the sprinkler heads for proper height and watering efficiency. He even offered to help me fertilize my lawn as I had let it go for awhile waiting for my sprinklers to work properly again. Nice touch. Afterwards, I felt confident he had set my lawn up with a more efficient and professional sprinkler system I hope to utilize for many years to come. Conrad and his team did an excellent job with our sod and sprinkler replacement. It was a long process, per my request, to be sure that all the weeds and old grass were dead before the new sod was installed. We added a couple of other projects once the job was underway, and he responded to every addition with the same fair pricing as the initial bid. The final product is beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the quality, timeliness, professionalism of Conrad and his team, and the communications that kept me informed about what was happening and when.. So much so, that Del Mar Landscaping will be taking over as our monthlhy gardening service. I will definitely call Conrad first for any special landscaping needs that come up in the future, and have already recommended him to friends and family.

I needed some serious help with my out-of-control back yard. My backyard is 1800 square feet. I had 6 over-grown fruit trees and waist-high weeds that I wanted removed. I also had the yard re-graded and 20-cubic yards of mulch laid down. By the time I got home from work the trees and weeds had been removed and the yard had been re-graded. They had just started laying the mulch. I was very much surprised at how much they had gotten done by 2PM. Conrad is an awesome contractor, with an awesome crew! Del Mar Landscaping will definitely get future business from me. They are professional, showed up on time and worked hard. Conrad said he would need two days, but was able to get everything done in 1 day. I'm very happy with the work Del Mar Landscaping did. I also want to add that they also trimmed two tall palm trees I have in my front yard.

I contacted Conrad through Angie's List and he returned my inquiry promptly. We scheduled a time for him to come take a look at our yard to see what we needed done. He took measurements, listened to what we wanted, and provided suggestions. He provided me a detailed estimate within a couple of days. The price was within our budget and we hired him to start the work. He sprayed the lawn several times to make sure it was completely dead. Then his team rototilled and graded the area. They also removed two trees. A new sprinkler sytem was installed along with a new garden area for plants. He installed the new sod and several new jasmine plants for us. Everything looks great and we are really pleased. We will definitely use Del Mar again!

Conrad was punctual and professional and listened carefully to what I wanted before starting work. He also came back a second time after I found a few other dry areas (sometimes it's hard to see that an area does not get enough water until you start working in the soil). He works really quickly and also is great about calling back promptly and making appointments.
