Caught contractor burying a main shutoff valve in dirt (without a valve box). I have a 3 inch drain pipe from the back yard to the curb which he broke a large hole into (approx 3" X 5") and rather than repairing the break, covered up with dirt.. Prior to finishing the job, a live line connection to the back yard came apart in the middle of the night and water ran for about 8 hours. He installed a pressure valve which he assured me would take care of the problem. About a week after he left the job the connection again blew apart so i placed a metal tightening ring at the connection and have had no problem since. Contractor also took my rake which i called and told him about but he never acknowledged my call.

They did an excellent job. They were prompt and completed the job on time. They were very courteous and answered all our questions. They did a walk through with us upon completion which included showing us how to use the timer. The sprinklers are working out great. Thank you Del Mar Landscaping!

First and foremost, PLEASE NOTE, if you're expecting someone to be waiting for your call and be at your house within 5 minutes, something is wrong. I've read several reviews how people rated Conrad (Del Mar Landscaping) an "F" because it took 24 hours for Conrad to respond is ridiculous. Any landscape professional who's able to show up at your doorstep while you're on the phone with them should be questioned with their skills, experience and knowledge. With that said, let me share my experience with you. I'm a very picky person. I like things just way I want them. I am a control freak and have met with other landscapers, shared my ideas, vision, and wants/needs. I'm so obsessive compulsive that I created my own rendering as to what I want, where I want it, and how it's going to be done (See photos). Unfortunately most of those landscapers came back with their ideas, renderings, etc. and that just didn't fly with me. Hello, it's my backyard and not theirs... First meeting with Conrad, I knew he was the right person. I shared my ideas with him and also showed him my rendering... He looked at me and immediately said, "This is going to work out because you know what you want and I'll make sure you get it." We sat down and went over my ideas and renderings, he suggested minor details that will actually make my place better. Side note, for the last 15 years that I've lived in Long Beach, I've owned 4 homes that I've worked on myself... yes, including landscaping. I just don't have the time now. Conrad was very professional and honest. He was very realistic with his pricing as well. I've received estimates from others that I know were very low and will be full of surprises with add-ons, etc. and some that were overpriced because it felt like they were building "their" dream backyard instead of mine. What made me feel very comfortable about Conrad is that he was upfront with everything and actually took his time to develop the estimate. He didn't give me a ballpark figure. He actually took a few days (3 days) and presented a very comprehensive work order and plan of action. The entire project was supposed to take 2 weeks but Conrad delivered and finished a few days early. His entire crew are AWESOME, hard working, and very nice. They worked so hard in my backyard that I decided to buy them lunch for their hard work. I figured you work hard, I like what I see, I'll make sure you know I appreciate everything you're doing. Will I use Conrad again? HECK YA! I'm working on my front yard now, developing plans and sketches and I'll make sure I use him again. Would I refer him to my friends and clients? FOR SURE! In fact, I already referred him to 4 people. Conrad is legit. He's the real deal. If there's a problem, he's easy to talk to and provides solutions. He's a man of his word and one of the most honest, hardworking person I know. I envisioned my backyard to be the place for my friends and family to have BBQs. I have a huge family and network of friends and I'm so thankful that Conrad and his crew were able to make that happen for me. He's also on the list of invites for my backyard parties because I want my guests to know who made my backyard, my favorite spot in my house! My mom's lawn, which had been neglected over a year, was in bad shape and needed everything - new sod, trees cut back, flower beds, etc. - before we could place the house on the market. I called Del Mar Landscaping for a quote and stated that I needed help immediately. Several days later, after I had met with several other landscapers who returned my voicemail message, Del Mar returned my call and were surprised that I had already hired a landscaper, saying, "Wow, that was fast." Yes, and it might have been them to do the work had returned my call in a prompt manner.

They're very professional and do quality work and good punctuality.

I had a really nice experience with Del Mar Landscaping, although I did not use their service. I was contacted immediately for scheduling, and set up a meeting, which I had to change twice but was no problem for Del Mar. The only reason I didn't use them is my yard is a huge project and I had no idea it would cost as much as I was quoted, which I do believe was a fair quote (maybe a little on the high side, but not by much). I was impressed with their professionalism and courtesy. I will more than likely use Del Mar when my financial situation improves.

I called Del Mar Landscaping based on the reviews I read. Conrad returned my call the next day and we arranged a day to meet. He arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. He took a look at the backyard and gave me an estimate on what it would cost and how long it would take. I explained to him that this was a very important project for my husband and I. He listened to all the requests we had and gave suggestions on what he thought would compliment the space. So we decided on no grass at all and went with Flagstone. The center of the yard was done with Flagstone and small rocks in between, along the walls he made borders for succulents and a variety of plants. It was amazing how fast he transformed the yard into a beautiful landscape and at the same time kept it very simple so that maintaining it would not be a problem. Everyone involved in the project was great and had a lot of knowledge of what they were doing. It took several days to complete, but it was worth it. The yard turned out beautiful it was just what we wanted. I go out there every day and look at the awesome work that was done. We all just love it. I know if we ever need anymore work done or know of anyone who wants quality work done with great prices I would tell them about Conrad and Del Mar Landscaping. I love that my family now has a peaceful place to relax and look forward to many years of enjoyment.

They had a lot of work to do to finish and I was surprised at how much they accomplished. I had instructed them to not disturb my spouse because the yard was my project and they very much respected that request. My spouse barely noticed them working. They were there, promptely at 8am and left about 3pm. The yard was left in great condition. I have recommended them to my friend.

Conrad was prompt and informative during the initial consult and when he gave his estimate. He was very reasonable and was able to work with our schedule. His crew arrived on time and performed all the tasks. They were friendly and courteous and diligent workers One problem that couldn't be helped was that Conrad's mother was ill during this time and unfortunately passed away during the job, so Conrad was unable to supervise the work personally. The crew did the best to their ability - and although they weren't landscapers, and Conrad had left no plan for them to follow, they pooled their artistic skills and prior knowledge to try to layout the plants. I didn't mind since I had my own vision and it became a collaborative effort. We were so pleased by the price and attitude that we subsequently hired Conrad to do some work on my mother-in-law's home. I regret that I did not initially follow my intuition and have Conrad lay down weed barrier and gravel when the initial work was done. I was swayed by the lower price to leave dirt, and not surprisingly, after being absent from the site for a couple months, the weeds took over. Conrad is scheduled to complete the work in the next month.

Absolutely wonderful experience dealing with Conrad Romero and his crew. Some of the hardest workers I have ever dealt with, extremely professional and courteous. Always on time and finished when he said he would. The day after they were finished I already had a referral for Conrad based on the looks of the completed job.

I contacted Conrad in hopes of finding a new weekly lawn maintenance company that could also do a major cleanup before beginning the weekly service. We purchased our home about a year ago and knew that the front, side, and backyard had years of neglect. We recently had our backyard renovated but were not happy with the maintenance of our landscaper thus we decided to try someone new. After reading all the positive reviews on here, I decided to contact Conrad. Conrad was prompt and responsive to my initial email. He came out and gave us a quote. He was very professional and knowledgeable, answered all my questions thoroughly and listened to our desires. I really liked that he had suggestions on plants we could use to fill in certain areas but would also make sure to ask what I liked. He was also fair with his pricing. Conrad and his crew came out on the scheduled day and worked hard for almost 8 hours. We didn't realize how big a job it was until we saw everything they cleaned out. I really wish we would have taken before pictures of all the areas they worked on. I now love walking by our house and seeing the cleaned up side yard. It truly looks like a different house! We were very satisfied with their work and look forward to keeping them to do our weekly lawn maintenance. Another thing I like about Conrad is that he responds to email! :-)

Conrad and his crew are professional, polite hard workers. This is the third time I've had Conrad and his employees come to work. The first time I had them clean out all the dead plants in the yard of the house we just bought. It was a mess. Just clearing that out, improved the look immediately. The next time they came, they replanted the back yard with palms, succulents, and birds of paradise. Conrad did the whole design. It looked gorgeous. A few months later I decided I wanted to clear out another area of my back yard. The first time taking out dead plants was nothing compared to the area I wanted cleared. It was dense with bushes and cacti. It was difficult work, but they were able to do it in a day. I also wanted to add beach rock, pea gravel, and mulch to the beds in my yard. They moved 20,000 lbs of 2 inch buff beach rock, 15 cubic yards of pea gravel, and 25 cubic yards of mulch in 2 days!!! I couldn't believe they could get it done. I've never had such hard workers at my home. They were amazing! Again, the outcome of my yard was amazingI I ended up hiring Conrad's group to take care of my yard on a weekly basis. I know the results will be fantastic!

We phoned Conrad Romero of Del Mar Landscaping after finding his company on Angie's List. This was one of 5 or 6 companies that we had contacted for our project to get a quote from. Conrad came out and impressed us right off the bat with his professionalism and knowledge. He listened to both myself and my husband and addressed all of our questions with great respect and was willing to break down his quote into separate projects, just in case we encountered budgetary restraints. My husband is very thorough and does an incredible amount of research prior to beginning a project or deciding on a company to hire. He insists on references and prior job locations to check out and Conrad furnished every bit of information that was requested. Our job spanned a 3 month period due to our decision to add brick pilasters and vinyl fencing around the front and side perimeters. We had Conrad's crew kill the old lawn, remove it and prep that portion as well as the flower and succulent beds as well as install the foundation and brick pilasters. Then they had to fall back into a holding pattern while the vinyl fencing company manufactured and installed their portion. Del Mar Landscape took it all in stride. Conrad checked in with us often and stayed on top of the situation. He made sure that he introduced us to all of his crew. Regardless of which of the workers we spoke with and asked questions of, they knew the answers and were fully capable of handling whatever came up. Once the lawn and beds were cleared and the fencing was in place, new sprinkler lines were run and the heads positions. Our Marathon II sod was installed the day it arrived so there was no chance of it sitting around (really bad for sod!) and the plants that we had asked to be spared for transplanting were brought back out front from our backyard and replanted as well as many other plants that we had added. The succulent bed and natural grasses look great as well as the silver sheen kohuhu trees along the property line. One minor tweak of the sprinkler system and everything's great! This company has been able to make our 1940's home look more like a picture on a Hallmark card and that, believe me, is nothing short of a miracle! I can't say enough good things about Del Mar Landscaping and each and every person who works for them. We highly recommend them for your landscaping, brick work, masonry, lawn care and sprinkler needs.

I contacted Del Mar Landscaping and got a call back from Conrad the owner with a week or so. When I left a message he had stated that there was a death in the family and there would be a delay in getting back to me. Conrad was prompt, respectful and extremely accomodating in meeting me around my work schedule. When he came for the free consultation we had originally only wanted to get the sprinklers fixed so that they would function properly. He told me that would be really inexpensive, I believe something around $100.00 dollars or so. That was 400% cheaper than the other companies I had spoken to. Conrad did not disregard a small job and spend a lot of time with me in explaining what they do, what he suggested I should do and listened to our future plans. Essentially after talking to him we decided to remove all of the dead or almost dead landscaping, pretty much everything on site and add 3000 lbs of river rock in our courtyard. We ended up spending 1300.00 + from what we had anticipated. He did not push to get more work done and did not dismiss the job because it was a small job. They worked around my schedule for the work to get completed and did a fantastic job. Not only were they respectful of our property but they were also very professional at their job. His crew works really hard and knows what they are doing. Conrad was always on site and involved making sure that everything was getting done properly. In the end he gave us suggestions on how to improve certain things and how to phase all the work we wanted done. The overall look of everything looks amazing. He even sent us to the website to be able to pick the rocks we wanted and quoted us based on that. We have many future plans for landscaping and will no doubt use this company again. Conrad is fantastic, knows his plants and understands how to do thing efficiently. Very happy with our service!

Conrad and his crew members were a pleasure to deal with. Every aspect of the job, which included, large bush removal, tree trimming, irrigation repair, debris removal and planting, was done competently and thoroughly. I was consulted throughout the job to make sure I was satisfied. it was a fairly messy process but they left everything clean and looking great. Since the job, when I've had questions regarding maintenance, Conrad has always returned my calls and e-mails in a very timely manner. I'd hire him again without hesitation and recommend him highly.

Picks in the ground before the truck stopped rolling. Two days later DelMar Construction was done and the job was perfect. Debris removal, sprinklers, dirt, seed. Everything was set perfectly; they left a note in the sprinkler box with additional instructions. Very professional, very fast, I highly recommend these guys.

We had good luck with Del Mar Landscaping. We were quite happy with them. I would recommend them. I thought they were very efficient, got the job done in the time they said they would, and they were good. They were very responsive.

I contacted Conrad (Business Owner) thru Angie's List and left a message. Conrad responded within minutes. The conversation was cordial, profession and very productive. I told Conrad that I was a new home owner and needed the badly neglected Palm Trees trimmed. There were approximately three large trees, two medium size tree and 12 to 13 smaller trees that needed trimmed. I made an appointment with Conrad to come by and give me an estimate. The appointment was made and Conrad showed up when scheduled and on time. In about fifteen minutes he completed his estimate which was very fairly priced. A date and time was scheduled for the work. Conrad's crew of professional tree trimmers arrived on the date scheduled and on time. The work was very professionally done. The results were beautiful. They cleaned up all the debris and even cleaned off my patio and cleaned up the leaves in the backyard that had fallen from the neighbor's tree. The crew was nice, polite and asked me several times if I had any questions and wanted to know if I was satisfied with the results. The entire process was flawless from beginning to end and was very fairly priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

We called and spoke with Conrad, who was able to stop by the house within an hour or so. Gave us a solid estimate on trimming the tree in the front yard (main objective) and also had a look at the backyard and gave us a very rough estimate on that as well. We told him we wanted the tree trimmed before Thanksgiving, but understood that it may not happen given our tight timeline request. He said it would be no problem. His crew came out the day and within the timeframe that he set up with us. He also called that same day to let us know more precisely when his crew would be showing up. The tree trimming took a couple hours and looks amazing--what a difference in the front yard! All scraps were cleaned up (the front lawn looked better after they left than before they showed up) and we are very happy with the end result. Del Mar Landscaping provided us with the best price for this single tree trimming job.

I had an appraisal coming up and I needed it done in the next few days. They came the next afternoon and did a very nice job, making sure they trimmed the large hedge to my liking and offering some good suggestions. The price was fair especially because it was last minute. They were nice people and seemed to enjoy that their work had made us happy.

I was very pleased with the crew. They kept to their schedule and were prompt to answer my concerns. There was a change order due to the grading. I had some concerns about the pepper tress and they swapped them out at no charge. I would recommend them, seemed honest, fair and willing to work us.

I found out about Del Mar Landscaping on Angie's List. After reading the reviews I was quite impressed with them. I called and Conrad , the owner called me back promptly to set up appointment and was right on time for evaluation of work to be done. By the way I was so impressed with his expertise, attitude and quote that I cancelled another appointment and chose Del Mar. On the scheduled day of service 3 men arrived right on time. They all had on clean logo embossed uniforms and were very friendly and professional. About 5 minutes after they arrived Conrad came to go over the work with them and also me. He explained again what they planned to do and made sure it coordinated with what I expected. They did an incredible job; fast but great work. Taking out the bamboo plants would have been impossible for me. I was also quite impressed with the clean up. Left it spotless including washing off the road in front of my place. Conrad came back at the end of the job to make sure everything was done well. I would definitely recommend Del Mar Landscaping and use them again.
