Description of Work: Jamie built a one-of-a-kind front porch/deck for me using redwood and willow branches. He was open to hearing my ideas for how it was to look, as well as how it was to function. His creativity and interest in using ideas and methods that honor the earth were what made this experience unique. He followed the lines of the trunk of my olive tree to create a table, and collected branches for railings that look like an extension of the nature around them. He was punctual, easy to talk with, and as interested in building something unusual and creative as I was. He also covered my block planter boxes with redwood and built a redwood fence with hidden flower boxes along the backside of the top so I could plant flowers that would grow vertically and hide an ugly view. His website shows pictures of my project.

Description of Work: Jamie secured a storm drain grate. The previous one was stolen, and we wanted to prevent that again. He had a good idea use a water-resistant lock can can be chain-bolted to the cement in the drain wall. It worked beautifully.

Description of Work: Jamie is a great vendor. He has done items as small as replacing out of reach security light bulbs to fixing areas of our building that need a little help from old age. He has installed new faucets for our kitchen area and also sanded, regritted and repainted our front porch stairs. He always takes into account how our company likes things done and has always done a great job.

Very honest and trust worthy and the work he did was fantastic. We interviewed many from Angie?s list and picked Jamie. We are so thankful!! + 0 moreOverall, he did a great job at a very reasonable price. He was very professional and we are having him back this week to replace bathroo, hardware, do some tile work and hand LED lights in the garage.
Description of Work: We left a message and our call was returned the same day. James was able to fit us in within 2 days. We needed to have a door replaced and shelves hung, including an antique marble shelf that had been in my grandmother's home when I was growing up. James went to Home Depot to get the door. he painted it and then hung it. he did a few other minor repairs for us.

The "todo" list was the following: 1) 220v line run from garage for new stove, 2) Baseboards installed in great room, 3) Ceiling fan installed in guest room & 4) Run network cabling behind wall in guest room. We were very surprised that they didn't even call. Work done by another company was $2,500. I guess it's easy to see who wants to work and who doesn't

+ 1 moreI asked Jamie to hang 3 bedroom doors. I had already purchased the pre-hung doors (with frames around door with hinges in place). I wanted him to remove the doors from the pre-hung frames, mortice the hinge plate on the existing frames, and install new hardware on the doors. The new doors were 3-hinge and the old frames were only 2-hinge. He did a fantastic beautiful job. The new doors fit perfectly, latched perfectly, were in perfect alignment and he cut the doors so the sill space at he bottom of the doors was the same. And I think the price was just right. Definitely hire again. In fact I did!
Description of Work: Hang three new pre-hung bedroom doors in existing frames and install hardware.

+ 0 moreJaime had to step in when there was a misunderstanding re: size of doors. The hardware store salesperson had misunderstood when I said the "rough opening" was such and such, thinking I said the doors should be that size. Jaime went to them and made sure the right size of doors were ordered, and then he suggested a different wood, which would match the other wood in the room better. He went above and beyond his duty to make sure the job was done right.
Description of Work: Demolish stucco wall, remove window, install French doors. He had to work with the electrical wiring and add a threshold for the new doors, both of which were unexpected. He gave me the option of staining the new doors myself but I had him and his assistant do it instead. I was very pleased with the work.

+ -1 moreCame on time, suggested a time & money saving solution. Was courteous, and professional at every turn. Very high quality; I am certain the installers could not have done nearly as well. We'd been left with our new refrigerator in our living room. Totally unacceptable. The installers couldn't come out again for days. James, of Greener Rhythms came out the next day and had the unit in place without any trouble. Would use Greener Rhythms again, and recommend highly to anyone in need of any construction or remodeling work.
Description of Work: The Owner installed a refrigerator for us. The installers had come, and had left our large, new refrigerator in our living room. They had suggested we pull out a door jam, and they would come back. Greener Rhythms came out and suggested a direct installation of the unit. James put the refrigerator into the kitchen for us, and leveled it - everything the installers were supposed to do, and saved us trouble, and time in the process. Fabulous work! And great Workmanship! Saved us time, and the trouble of having a door frame torn out, and having the house a mess for many more days.

I had difficulty in getting anyone willing to bid on such a small job, but after finally getting 4 bids, I choose Greener Rhythms based on reviews in Angie's List as well as what I sensed about Mr. Kerns. He did not disappoint. In fact, I was so pleased, I have asked for and accepted bids on two from-scratch woodworking projects. I am in the queue for January 2008 so will report back after those projects are finished. In the meantime, don't hesitate to use Greener Rhythms, you won't go wrong.
Description of Work: Installation of primed, MDF baseboards in 3 bedrooms and an upstairs hallway. Installation of pre-finished MDF quarter-round around built-in bookcases and desk. Baseboard installation included nail hole puttying and caulking of corners and wall edges. Quarter-round installation included nail hole puttying.
