It started out well. They showed up about 10 min. late, but they noted it on the paperwork. The guys were all very friendly, courteous, and worked fast. They thought that we would have more and the guys were very excited when they thought they could do it in one trip. After 90 min of working, they realized that they would have to make 2 trips. They seemed disappointed, but with us, that was fine as it was what we had expected. They completed the first trip in 2.5 hours this was all of what was in the house except the washer and dryer, refrigerator, outdoor patio furniture, and garage storage. My husband went back with them while they did their second load and I stayed at the new house. During the second trip, they did a lot of damage to both houses as they got very rushed. Specifically, they broke a the valve connecting the water line to the refrigerator and my husband had to shut off the water to the house. The valve cost less than $5 and took my husband 10 min. to fix a few days later, however, we had to move our cleaning crew because we had no water in the house. At the new house, while bringing in the refrigerator, they ran into a wall and took a piece out of the molding around the pantry door. We were moving to a BRAND NEW HOUSE and now we have to get this fixed. Additionally, prior to our moving into the house, my husband had the garage floor epoxied. They put in several scrapes all the way down to the cement in this brand new flooring as well. We are looking for patch kits. During the second trip, they guys were very anxious to leave. They kept saying, we don't want to keep running up your bill. While I appreciate them being conscious of the quote, I would have much rather paid for an extra hour than to have significant damage to our new house.
Description of Work: We needed a mover to move our household goods 1 mile. The owner told me that they charged $150/hr with a 4 hour minimum and that they would provide 4 men and a 24' truck. He estimated it would take 4-5 hours to move our 3 bedroom + office, 2000 sf home. And he thought it would take 2 trips to move everything. We knew up front that everything would need to be packed and that they would take apart any furniture (i.e. bedframes and removing the mirrors from the back of the dressers, etc). We also did not have to pack the dresser drawers. He did not come out to the house to give us a quote, so we took the estimate knowing it could be higher.
