Install My Lights - The Recessed Lighting Company

This company is fantastic. They were very professional and knowledgeable from the beginning. They set up an appointment to go over what we wanted, advised us on what they recommended, and provided an estimate. Their bid was 1/3 what another company had quoted me. They were able to schedule a time to do the work quickly. They showed up on time, with a crew of 3, wrapped the house in plastic to ensure there would be no mess, and went over the plan one last time with me to ensure there were no changes. On the spot they agreed to do some additional work at my request. They completed the work within a short time, patched all the holes and textured the walls, so all I needed to do was paint. They had me reinspect their work one last time to ensure I was 100% happy. When they left there was no trace they had been there other than having beautiful new lights! It was really a great experience and even better that their prices were so reasonable. I know sometimes you feel like you might be disappointed with a low bid, but with Install My Lights, you will not be sorry. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Install My Lights is a stellar company! They installed new ceiling LED lights with dimmers. They also installed several bathroom fixtures and custom lighting and art work lighting. They patched up all the holes so I didnt have to pay for any additional work when I had the place painted. All work was perfectly done, the crews were always punctual. It was a couple weeks of work spread out over time because I had to order all the custom lighting pieces as my designer kept changing her mind.courteous. There was absolutely nothing to clean up afterward. Andrew was present when I had concerns and was very attentive to my wife and even my kids. Great Company. I found them through a friend not Angie's List initially because I just got this account to write them a review. Im pleased to see they have great reviews already and I agree with the rest of the reviews they are a great company to work with. Very reasonably priced too.

Estimating Process Andrew provided an estimate and explained the project scope to me. After obtaining a few other estimates, we decided to have "Install My Lights" perform the work. We felt comfortable with Andrew and his professional and friendly approach to our inquiry. Cost estimate seemed competitive to us. Another company's representative (Michael J. Dove) stated that the "Install My Lights" approach to the project was "not up to code", however this was not the case. This issue was true for a major remodel with permit OR new home construction only (verified with two other electrical re-modelers). This led us to go with "Install My Lights". Work Performed Workers laid down thick plastic in driveway, sidewalk, foyer entrance, dining room and kitchen floor -- included covering various Christmas decorations to protect their finish. Completely draped plastic from the ceiling protecting all cabinets and appliances in the kitchen. Removed old fluorescent lighting Covered over the recessed box in kitchen ceiling with drywall Replaced with six LED canned lights, Installed a second light switch and GFI for new LED lamp over sink area. (7 LED lamps installed total) Completely smoothed over the existing orange peel ceiling are as well as the new drywall to create a smooth seamless finish Sprayed a new orange peel finish to provide a uniform finish. Ceiling was NOT primed or painted as new finish needed to cure for 2 days Hauled away all old fixtures and trash, removed all plastic avoiding any dust disbursement, swept and vacuumed and left the area in an as-found condition. Job completed in one day - duration was ~6 hours We would definitely use ?Installed my Lights? again.

Install My Lights is an amazing, professional and reasonable company to work with. Our first contact was with Andrew (owner) who accommodated us not once but twice with a personal home visit to do the quote and then pick out the lighting. We had recessed lighting added to our large vaulted ceiling, and added some light to our dungeon of a Living Room. It looks fantastic! Tony and Fernando came out right on time, so professional and friendly. Very knowledgeable about everything they were doing, and options on Layout of the lights on the ceiling. Installed six lights and dimmer switch all within about three hours. No mess, no fuss, everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend this company. Everyone in their office and crew are friendly and accommodating! We have already scheudled another estimate for additional work.

From the very beginning very professional and honest. My wife met with Andrew, so I never met him, but the quote looked good. I had talked with 2 other companies for bids. Victor and Fernando showed up, we talked for 5 minutes, I left for work and when I came back the entire area had been transformed! The place was as neat and clean as when I left and they did a beautiful job. Communication with the company throughout was great, professional and responsive. I will be doing more business with them in the future.

Install My Lights is a stellar company! They installed new ceiling LED lights with dimmers, replaced old recessed lights with LEDs, and installed two very large crystal chandeliers. The chandeliers installation was complex, because the individual crystals needed to be placed on the light frames, which were hanging from an eighteen foot high ceiling. They also installed 10 bathroom fixtures, and did minor drywall repair. All work was perfect, all workers were punctual, courteous, and respectful of our belongings. They put plastic on everywhere they stepped. So there was absolutely nothing to clean up afterward. Andrew, the owner (also an electrician) is very customer oriented and made sure we were very satisfied. This is the best company that we have had in our home!

They also did lighting under the cabinets. They were phenomenal and very clean.

This was the 3rd time we had Andrew and his crew install recessed lights and ceiling fans for us. This time Andrew remembered our house and its high ceilings and was able to give us a quote over the phone. The first 2 times he came out promptly and discussed the projects with us making suggestions. His crews always arrived on time and were professional and very neat. We have been extremely happy with them.

We had other trades refinishing wood work, they asked Andrew to stop working so they could apply the lacquer coats in a dust free environment. Andrew was able to accommodate the schedule change and still completed his work on time. He went out of his way to suggest accent lighting where extra circuits were available. I was not at the new house and Andrew was able to work flawlessly in a unsupervised manner. One less thing for me to worry about! It was nice to have one trade be able to perform all the needed electrical work, as well patch, texure , and paint the drywall.

I have been doing several upgrades and renovations to my home during the past couple of months, which anyone who goes through this knows how stressful it can be. When I decided to have recessed lighting installed, I found Install My Lights to be exceptional! Andrew (the owner) is a godsend (and that's an understatement)!! He came out to my home and provided an estimate a few hours later, not only on the recessed lighting, but the installation of ceiling fans, new bathroom lighting fixtures, and even the replacement of my smoke alarms. I wanted to get this work done prior to getting my home painted and as busy as their schedule was, he didn?t want to cause any delay in this regard and scheduled the work to be done on a Saturday, just three days after the estimate was prepared. I found Andrew to be very accommodating, genuine, personable, and professional. Now comes the team? They all showed up on time and ready for a full day of work. They thoroughly prepared my entire home, so that no debris or particles affected the home or my furniture in any way. Victor, Fernando, and Hector were very personable, clearly showed pride in what they do, and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with everything as the work progressed. They even repaired an existing drywall issue I had at no additional cost!! They have worked for Install My Lights for several years and their dedication and commitment to provide exceptional service, as well as their expertise to perform the work flawlessly, is a credit to the company and a tribute to how the company is managed. This is my first experience with Install My Lights and it was seamless and rewarding! To top it off, the prices are very reasonable. It was such a pleasure working with Andrew and his team and I would highly recommend them, as their dedication to providing a rewarding customer experience is evident in everything that they do. I will be using Install My Lights for all my lighting needs moving forward and I?m now considering installing additional recessed lighting because of my overall experience with them. Andrew came to my house and gave an estimate, a few weeks later he came and did the work. The entire experience was professional and the work came out great! They came on time and performed the work exactly as proposed. Additionally, they left zero mess and prepared the work very well. The pricing was excellent in comparison to two other vendors who offered proposals. Thanks Andrew and team!

Great experience! I called to set up appointment for estimate. The office manager called the night before to confirm and told me that I would be meeting with Andrew. Andrew came out as planned. He was very polite, professional, and thorough. He answered my questions and gave suggestions. He had samples of types of can lights which I was delighted to see since this eliminated a separate shopping trip for me to discern which lights I would need for this type of job. Andrew also said that his company did not paint so I knew that up front. Andrew wrote out an itemized proposal. I really appreciated this as it is reassuring for the customer, in my opinion, to see exactly what I'm being charged for. The next day I received a follow up phone call from the office manager again. She just wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with my visit from Andrew and if I had any questions. I went ahead and scheduled an installation date. In the interim, it became apparent that the vanity lights I had ordered were not going to arrive on time. So I called Install my Lights to let them know. They were very accommodating. They suggested that we could go ahead with the original install date, then when my lights arrived I could give them a call and they would work a follow up installation of the lights into their scheduled jobs in my area at no extra charge. I was very pleased that they were willing to work with me on this. As it turned out, my lights were here on time after all so it was no longer an issue. Again, I received a call the night before the job. I was informed what time the crew would arrive and that Andrew would be the lead on the job. While Andrew and crew was in my home, they were very professional, very courteous, and I thought, pretty quiet. Andrew checked with me throughout the day to clarify things to my satisfaction. They began work on this day about 8:00 and finished with everything including clean up around 5:00. I was VERY impressed with clean up. These guys were on hands and knees vacuuming and wiping my wood floors! In addition to all of the work area and surrounding area inside my house that they covered for protection, they had also covered the walkway leading up to our front door. So as part of clean up they also hosed down my front walk. Very impressive. Finally, I received a last phone call from the office manager following up on the work that was done and if I was satisfied. The answer is definitely, Yes! Thanks Andrew and Install My Lights! Initially obtained a quote and in-house estimate from an Install My Lights consultant. He took great care listening to my thoughts and ideas, and he provided excellent suggestions and recommendations. Installation took place approximately two weeks later. The installation team was running little late, and they called to let me know in advance of their delay. Upon arrival, there was one last consultation to confirm exactly where I would like my lights, and what types of switches I would like to have installed. The other installers went to work immediately, placing thick protective plastic everywhere in the house with the intent to minimize dust and debris. I called them at the last minute to have them place additional lighting in one room, as well as place an additional light in an area that was not mentioned. They called my back promptly, and were able to accommodate my last minute requests, which was amazing and very nice of them! They cleaned up the area nicely, and the lights looked amazing. There was only a small patch, less than 2ft by 2inches wide that required touch up paint. They completely transformed each area of the house. I will absolutely use them again, when I am ready to install more of my recessed lights.

DO NOT CALL ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN. STOP SEARCHING & WASTING YOUR TIME! Pick up the phone and call these folks. They are truly amazing. This is the second time I had them to my home. They did such a great job the first time, I put a whole laundry list together for them this time. They are incredbily professional. They give you a written estimate up front and they stick to it, no matter how long the job takes them. They put protection on every surface....and I mean EVERY SURFACE! Unlike any other electrician, they actually take the time to patch any holes they need to cut. This makes them more careful and creative about how they run the wiring because, unlike others, they have to patch all holes they cut. Other electricians I had before cut my walls up like crazy. It made their job easier an faster, but left a terrible mess behind for me to take my time to figure out how to resolve it. Where would you find someone to come in and patch a handful of drywall holes? These guys are on time, right priced, stick to their estimate, highly professional, licensed and they REALLY know what they are doing. They take both great pride and great care in their work. They were so quiet - no radios, no cell phone calls, no talking to each other, no singing, no having to come back because they don't have the part, etc. They were prepared, on time and got the job done. They were a DREAM come true. I love my new bedroom lighting. Thanks to Andrew for coming up for a creative and cost effective solution that is SOOO COOL, I can't beleive it is my house!

Install My Lights was very courteous and professional from start to finish. Before Andrew arrived for the initial estimation, I was a wee bit nervous because I had to call in for jury duty and wasn't sure if he would arrive on time or how long the estimation process would take. Lucky for me, Andrew arrived right on time and worked quickly to deliver a fair estimation for this particular project (recessed lighting in a bathroom, small laundry room, and, a dressing room closet). A day or two before the scheduled installation, we had to called to see it would be possible for them to install a new exhaust fan in the bathroom. On Monday morning, they returned the call and said that it would not be a problem to install it. (We had already bought one over the weekend) On Tuesday, Tony and Mike showed up right on schedule and brighten up the dreary laundry room. They worked very quickly and delivered outstanding work. Very friendly and very courteous. Just excellent work.

Andrew showed up on time (my pet peeve) with a hand shake and a smile on his face. Worked at a steady pace, completed the job, and cleaned up (my other pet peeve) to my satisfaction. We have already got a quote for some more work. I highly recommend these guys and that is saying something for me. Thanks...

The job was very done well and under schedule. Only thing that raised my eyebrows a bit was some of the spackling done to cover the holes in the ceiling. I knew there would be some holes but they weren't filled in completely - granted, the surface should need to be repainted anyway. Found a couple pieces of their paper/plastic materials in the room where the work was done too. These are not major complaints - in fact, their professionalism, courtesy and personal touch is what won us over. In general, I am very happy with the job completed. Intially, Andrew came to see us for an estimate. If there's is a textbook case of a buttoned up squeaky clean young man to represent the professionalism of his company, this is the guy. It was safe to say that he had won us over just by how he handled the estimate. His "Can-do" attitude also swayed us in his favor over another estimate we received. Andrew's estimate was determined on a Saturday and emailed to us on Monday. Timely, quick and professional, unlike another company that never even emailed us an estimate. I found the estimate to be reasonable and his email was followed up with a request to schedule and appointment to have the work done. We set it up for the following Monday. Tony and Mike came between 8am and 8:30am, as promised and were cordial - a couple of young guys who knew exactly what to do and went right to it. I was excited to come home from work to see what they had done and I was NOT disappointed. Well done you guys, you're definitely doing it right! If you were to ask me how a company should handle interfacing with their customers, organizing their appointments and carrying out the actual work to be done, I could easily and proudly direct you to "Install My Lights" as a reference. Other companies could definitely learn from their ways!

Andrew came over on a Saturday to give estimate. I was very impressed with his professionalism. Originally, I was only going to do the recessed lighting and if I liked the work, I would have called back for the additional lighting. However, I was so impressed with Andrew and his attention to detail, I knew I wanted to work with the company. I had requested an appointment for my next Friday off, and it was open so I took it! Andrew and Victor were very prompt on the day of service. They were meticulous in putting down plastic and taping off the entire work area. They even put plastic on the sidewalk! They worked straight thru the day, if they took a lunch, I didn't notice it. They worked well together and conversed, but were not loud or intrusive. All of the work they did was perfect! The lights look stunning...I can't believe we waited SO long to do this! The cleanup was amazing, the counters were probably cleaner when they left when they got here. Outstanding work! I would definitely refer this company to friends and family.

I've used this company twice. They are clean, efficient, friendly and helpful. Their price is very fair, especially considering their "no-dust" process. They really don't leave a mess, and do a nice job patching for a paint-ready surface. My regular electrician, who is very reasonable, charges about the same per recessed light, and he doesn't take the same care with prep. and finish work. If you want recessed lights in a space that you are living in, then this is the company to call. They are meticulous.

They charged me right about $4000 for their services. My overall experience with them was very good. I think they have good customer service and they were responsive. I will use them again in the future if I need to.

We called Install My Lights and booked an estimate appointment. Andrew came out to meet with me. He really did a great job explaining my options and also educated me about the current CFL technology. We ended up purchasing light that still gave off an incandescent (warm-yellow) light for the center lights. Which I am happy with. I had only one light bulb choice for the directional lights (in that diameter size) which would point toward the wall to highlight art or photo frames. Installation took place on a Saturday morning. The company was thorough about laying down tarp and plastic running from the front door to the dining room, and another one to the bathroom. They really did leave it mess-free. Even though we did this installation prior to moving into our home, and changing carpets, I wanted to see how they would do a job with no mess, especially because they would have to cut into the ceiling. I would definitely hire them again if we decide to put in recessed lighting in our living room. They made this process so easy and clean. There are a couple of spots we'll need to touch up, which we expected especially because of our lathe and plaster style walls/ceiling (which Andrew noticed and mentioned at the time of the estimate). For the most part they were very tidy. We're glad we booked with them.

There's no such thing as perfection. Until you meet Install My Lights! I am a journalist by trade -- which means my expectations and skepticism are high. I scrutinize, research, review, and judge. My interaction with this company (from the very first phone call to the final finished product) has been nothing but outstanding. The owner, Andrew, met with me in June for an estimate. I was really impressed with his detailed & timely quote and NO pressure demeanor. I was almost certain I couldn't afford this company because they looked like such a first-class operation (from their quality brochures to their van to their impeccable customer service, etc). I got 4 quotes for this job and Andrew's was one of the lower quotes. I chose Install My Lights not because they were reasonably priced (although that was a big consideration) but more for their top-notched professionalism. I was getting my entire kitchen remodeled (so cost is definitely an issue) and the lighting would be the crowning effect. Andrew and Carlos showed up punctually, looking clean and professional. I had 15 contractors traipsed through my home/kitchen in a 4 day period and Install My Lights was the only one that took the extra care to preserve my furniture, carpet, walls, surroundings. Sure, everyone else laid down plastic and dirty tarps and such, but no one prepped like Install My Lights. They draped plastic sheeting all around the kitchen walls and floor, creating a bubble that caught stray primer and drywall texture drops. They were even kind enough to lend a hand when the tiler was singlehandedly trying to move the stove back into position and level it. Andrew and Carlos were there 3 hours and when they left, there was zero trace of them left behind -- except for the gorgeous final product of their work. The plumber was there at the same time and had turned off the water for repairs. Andrew asked if he could turn the water back on to hose down my driveway before leaving. The plumber was at lunch, so I told Andrew don't worry about it because I didn't want to risk turning the water back on. Andrew actually seemed to feel bad for leaving the driveway "a mess." (I checked the driveway and there was no mess at all!) We had electricians from another company come out a couple of months ago to do work in our den and they made SO MANY holes and their patch job was really bad (we're still waiting for them to come out to fix it up) AND they damaged some of my furniture, light fixtures, crown molding, and walls! They make me feel like I'm impossible to please because I expect the texture to match the existing wall/ceiling! They say it's impossible to match it exactly -- but Andrew did it! We've always heard that remodeling is 1) dusty/messy; 2) full of surprises (especially in additional costs) and 3) never goes smooth. Install My Lights debunked every single one of those myths. They left my house cleaner than it was when they got there. There were no "surprises" or "oops" that popped up. And the entire process could not have sailed along any more smoothly. If only the rest of my renovations would go this way! The lights are stunning. Once I recoup financially from the kitchen remodeling, I'm having Install My Lights come back to do recessed lighting in my bedroom and ceiling fans in a few bedrooms. Also, the front office receptionist/manager Linda Nguyen was great at communicating and keeping me apprised of developments and changes. Outstanding company in every aspect.
