I called and spoke to a lady who took some detailed information from me and promised a call back from an estimator in a few days. I was worried about this company after looking at the other reviews saying they did not respond to request for quotes. The company blamed it on the customer. Well I now know first hand the other reviewer was correct. They never followed up with me and must have so much work they did not need a new customer.

Overall, it was a very impressive construction. Marc came up with some great ideas for redoing our existing bathrooms - to modernize them. As with any major construction project, it stretched out longer than anticipated and had several glitches. However, with Enna's help, we worked through all of the concerns. We are very pleased with the remodels and thoroughly enjoy the bathrooms.

Mark Besnos, owner of Horizon Construction, continues to wow our family with the beautiful work his company performs. Horizon has been transforming our home for over three years. Whether the job is large or small Horizon Construction performs exemplary work. Mark personally comes out before, during and after each part of the job is completed to make sure the work meets the company's exemplary standards. The crown molding we just had installed is beautiful and finishes the rooms perfectly.

Returned my call after 10 days. Came out for estimates then deliver quote 7 days later, and talked to me on the phone, "My quote printer is broken, the best thing I can do for you is signing the contract and pay us the whole sum upfront. There isn't any other ways." | |Btw, it's in Irvine, California. Contractor's name is going to censor so I am not even bothered to try. Good luck with them.

Apparently they didn't need the business or this was not the type of project they were interested in. During my original phone contact, they just kept stressing that their minimum job size was $8,000. I told them I didn't think that was going to be an issue for my project. I'm not sure the person on the phone understood the project. They sent me an email instructing me to send a description of the project and photos of the project area, which I did. Never heard another word from them. I followed up by phone, but still never heard back. If they were not interested, OK. How about a call back, email, anything? I am currently under contract with another company. Cost of the project (patio cover & hardscape): approx $30,000.

This is the second time we use Horizon and will probably use them again. They were very professional and finished the job ahead of time. Horizon was not the cheapest contractor but they were very close to the cheapest quote. They never skipped a day of work and made sure that they were done ahead of the promised date. Mark and Enna were great to work with.

This is the second time working with Horizon Construction. They remodeled my guest bathroom and the experience was so pleasant and professional that I hired them again to remodel our entertainment room. We had an old ugly and asymmetric fireplace that needed to be removed so that we can center the TV on the wall with some custom cabinets installed. As before, our experience with Horizon through the entire remodeling process was smooth. Even when we hit a snag, they worked with us to stay on schedule as much as possible. I do not regret going with Horizon again and would look to them first with my next home project as well.

We selected Horizon Construction & Remodeling because of the good ratings they received from customers who had work done by them. The cost was higher than some other quotes I received but I was concerned about the quality of the workmanship and considered the customer satisfaction ratings Horizon received from their customers. As it turned out, the work was completed on time, within budget and the quality of the work was excellent. We are very satisfied with how everything turned out. As in any project, issues arise but they were quickly resolved with no excuses. Mark inspected the work as it progressed and Enna communicated with us every step of the way so there were no surprises. They got a building permit from the City of Huntington Beach for the remodeling as we requested and we had no problems passing any phase of the inspection process. We would recommend them to our friends.

I wouldn’t recommend them. I booked an appointment to have them to come out after 6 pm on a Friday. They didn’t make it to the appointment. They did not schedule another appointment until I called back. It is a husband and wife business and I spoke to the wife. She said that there should have been some miscommunication. Her story was that if there was available time after 6, they would come by. There was no courtesy call. I didn’t want that type of professionalism in my services. They called two or three times afterwards to ask for kind of a second chance. But I was not ready for that kind of relationship for such a big project. I went to them because of their high ratings. But the experience I had with them was not good.

The total price came out to be more than we were originally quoted but it was worth it in the end. I love my new laundry room,. THey did a very nice job, always very neat and clean. Thanks again.

This was the second project we've contracted with Horizon (first was a kitchen remodel in 2009). Work was completed on schedule, within budget, and met all our expectations. Horizon kept us apprised of the progress by email (e.g. "Tomorrow they will install the counter top"). They stayed on the job until every item on our "Punch List" had been addressed to our satisfaction. Mark and Enna are a very nice couple and are a joy to work with. When unforeseen problems arise (and they always do), Enna's voice over the phone is very calming and reassuring and indeed all problems were resolved. Mark walks through the project frequently and will spot items that don't meet his expectations and see that they are corrected without us having to say a word. We will definitely use them again for our next project.

I called to schedule an estimate, and have yet to receive any response after a week.

So this person Enna called me the night before and let me tell you i have never been treated more rudely. When i joined Angies list i never thought that i would be writing a negative interveiw over a phone call , but i have never been on the phone and been more insulted by someone i was going to potentially hire. This enna laughed at everything i said really I could not believe her, she is one piece of work. Then she proceeded to tell me that there was no way they could remodele my bathroom for less than $15,000. I need you to know that i have already had two very professional estimates at 5000.00 and 7000.00 and my bathroom measures 5 X 10 feet! She keeps saying when she reacts to the bad reveiws on her site and there are many that she has great reveiws in her neighborhood. Well i will tell you her neighborhood is filled with only people who do not price out what things cost or get other bids. I think that angies list should tell you to make sure to read the negative interviews. They tell the real story these people probably do a great job if you are willing to pay at least double the going rate!

They wouldn't even come look at the job because it wasn't over $10,000 worth of work. They also required too much personal information upfront. They also won't just meet with a woman to quote the job. They said my husband had to be there too. I was quite put off by them.....

I first called on Monday. And on Wednesday I call them back and they said that my job wasn't big enough and that they only do jobs over $8000. So they said they would only be interested if I would have them paint as well.

My parents, in their 90's wanted a walk in tub. I agreed to help them find a contractor through Angie's list, and after researching, selected Horizon. Mark showed up at the house at the appointed time, evaluated what they wanted, estimated the cost, and spent sometime answering all of my father's questions and concerns (he is a retired lawyer and career military officer so he is very detailed oriented). Mark was patient and answered all of his questions, but did not push him in any one direction. Part of the contract called for my Dad to purchase a sink and faucets, but Mark agreed to purchase them for him and then get reimbursed for the cost without any additional cost to my Dad. The work was started on and finished on schedule (maybe a little ahead) and was very well done. I visited several times during the project and was impressed with the professionalism and quality of the workmanship. Mark also spent quite a bit of time finding a walk in tub that met my Dad's specifications and that met his budget. He discussed several options was well. In short, he worked as a team to get the work done the way my Dad wanted. I just got called by my Dad and who said to post the result and to give A's in everything. I can tell you that A's from him are worth something as he is not prone to overlooking details.

I was contacted right away and we scheduled a free consultation. He provided a lot of suggestions for alternatives to my original thoughts and I appreciated that input. He suggested that I just get engineering /architectural plans before getting a quote and provided me a reasonable price. We just decided not to move forward at this time as we have just moved in and need more time to decide.

The kitchen is beautiful and required removing walls, adding a beam and making a pony wall. Horizon was the only bidder who would the project the way we wanted. We wanted to open up the kitchen to all other rooms. They showed up on time. They finished faster than anticipated. The area was left very clean after work each day. Some of the workers (the man who laid the travertine, for instance) were very good at their jobs. They responded to emails very quickly and helped me make tough decisions well. They had workers who overall seemed to know what they were doing. Enna in the office, was very responsive and a call to her was answered the same day.The only problem was that after the job was finished, they said that our electric panel was overloaded. If we had known that, we would have budgeted a new panel. Horizon came and made modifications as asked.

...they weren't interested in talking to me for any job less than $8,000. What I require will likely not come close to that. They were helpful in suggesting I go straight to skilled labor for my work, but I believe I would prefer a licensed contractor. It seems I may have a tough time with that.

He came out did and did estimate. His estimate was too high and you ended up not using him.

Just want to say that we are extremely happy with the kitchen remodel that Horizon Construction completed for us. Our home was built in the late 1940s and was really showing its age. We wanted to have an open floor plan that incorporated the kitchen, dining room and living room. We had some ideas and a budget for what we were willing to spend. Mark took our ideas and make them come to life! He has an eye for design and style and a commitment to quality and detail. He and Enna are both committed to making sure their clients are satisfied and happy. We took out a load bearing wall between the old kitchen and living room and now wonderful large room. This was the second kitchen remodel I have lived through and this one was definitely the best. Mark said he would be finished in 9 weeks and he was! Their crew worked Monday through Friday and showed up every day. Enna called daily to keep us up to date, making sure we had appliances and spec sheets ready for the crew and making sure all our questions were answered. Mark was at the house every morning to direct the crew and attend to any details. He made sure that everything that we couldn?t see was done correctly as well as attending to details like overhead lamp and outlet placement and overall design functionality and appearance. Mark had the placement of the lamp over our dining table changed several times (without our knowing) until he was satisfied that it would be in the right place ? and it was! The crew was absolutely great. They arrived at about the same time every morning, went right to work but were always patient and answered any questions we may have had. The absolute best thing is that they cleaned up their work area every day without fail. They put up plastic so construction dust in the rest of the house was kept to a minimum which I really appreciated. If you are wondering if Horizon is the company for you ? our answer is YES! Do it, you will be very happy with the result. We sure are!

I A .very nice young man came out to look at the possible leak, but said he thought he was coming out to look at a shower/bathroom remodel .He said it didn't make sense to tear out the shower if we didn't know where the leak was. He looked in the shower and all around. Said he wasn't prepared to look for the leak that day but made an appt. with me for the following Tuesday at 9:00 and he did not show up. On Friday (I think) I called and left a message. Sometime the next week or so "Tina" called and said she was taking over my project......and I should think about an entire bathroom remodel, a bench in the shower, some pretty tile, etc. I told her I wasn't interested in a remodel just a new shower stall if I needed one. In the mean time I called a plumber that did leak detection and he said I didn't have a leak in the shower. they referred me to a man who came and tore out the step and couldn't find any moisture,only dry rot and termite damage. Took care of the whole problem. I called and left a message for Tina saying there was no project..it had all be taken care of. Last week I got a very nice message from Carol saying the she would love to discuss my project. I haven't called her back. . Communication was not good! I realize that it was Tina's job to sell, but she seemed very pushy.

Our kitchen remodel is now complete and I am a happy customer. Mark came to our house and had some very interesting design ideas that we followed. He is very good at seeing the potential in a room and then following through to the completion of the project. He was onsite often and pointed out small improvements that I would never have thought of including. Enna handles the office paperwork and deals with any complaints along the way. The way they schedule payments in segments made it clear that you had to be satisfied with the work just completed before you continued to the next step. We had never attempted something this involved and their experience was invaluable as they guided us through the process. His employees were very competent, and were even complimented by the inspector that came to sign off on the electrical and plumbing. The crews were very efficient and tidied up at the end of some long days. We were responsible for purchasing additional items: a range hood, pendant lights and hardware for the cabinets and a few other things. The work crews did a great job installing these items. Enna made sure that we were completely happy with each segment of work. There were a few communication issues. When Mark gave us a bid price, there were some expenses that were not made entirely clear as being our responsibility. I'm not sure if were just naive or he assumed that we understood that we were responsible for purchasing any appliances and extra lighting items, and, of course, any upgrades. We were a little over budget, but not much, considering our choices. But ultimately the choices made on the quality of the cabinets, the granite and other items was ours to decide. Those choices, of course, affected the final costs. In budgeting, plan for a 15% contingency factor just in case your taste is more champagne that a beer budget! All in all, the process went quickly and they were finished in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this company, and in fact, have already.

Horizon Construction immediately responded to our request for a quote. Mark came out to the house, listened to our ideas, and helped us to plan a remodel that exactly fit what we wanted. He also helped with picking out materials that fit our budget. Work started on time (once all permits were approved), and moved quickly, without any work breaks. There were no issues in contacting Horizon, and any issues that came up during the project were quickly addressed. We would highly recommend the Horizon team (Mark, Enna, and Sam) to any of our friends. Looking forward to doing business with them again.
