The owner is stuck up and rude. Says he's the owner and is taking his time to come give us an estimate. Says he doesn't do small things and looked like he didn't want to be at our house wasting his precious time. The way he talked and acted throughout the process made me feel like our job was too small for him and we were wasting his time. When I called to book my appointment, I was very specific twice about what I needed to be done and asked if our job was too small and the person who setup my appointment said their smallest job was $10k. So he should have already know the job details prior to coming. But when the owner showed up and realized we were small to him he didn't seemed like he wanted to waste his time on us. He quoted me $47k for doing my yard which I had bids from other contractors and the highest bid was $15k. I told him that and he replied that he will hire and attorney and open escrow with $10k and said if I can find someone to do the job for $15k he will give me $10k and if not I need to give him $5k. What he said was unbelievable. I said I'm not going to waste your time anymore and he said EXACTLY and left. On their website it says, "we are your friendly contractor and want to make it a delightful experience for our customers ". Well, our experience wasn't really delightful and the owner wasn't really friendly! Maybe if I had a million dollar home for him to remodel and the job was hundred of thousands he would've acted and talked differently because he did mention he was working on a $200k pool in Palos Verdes for a $15million home. It's fine if you don't work on small jobs but tell your customers ahead of time instead of coming into their home with no common courtesy. I'm pretty sure his first jobs were not million dollar homes and he was more humble to his clients.

It went great. Horizon was such a pleasure to work with, very open and honest and always kept me posted on my job, and they completed the project on schedule. I would definitely hire them again for my next project.

My husband and I are so fortunate to have found Horizon Construction to help us with our master bathroom remodel. It was extremely important for us to feel that our contractor was listening, paying attention to detail, and caring about doing a great job. We got all that in spades in working with Eitan Beznos, our lead designer/contractor, who became a trusted friend through every step of the process. He consistently monitored the progress and was in contact with us almost daily to ensure we were satisfied with each installation element along the way, take action to address any problems/issues, update us on what/when to expect next, and offer helpful advice on lingering decisions to be made. He also even helped find the exact tile from a photo I had shown because he knew it would make us happy not having to settle for something else. Our design concept for the bathroom really came to life, and it really is a showstopper. We are amazed at how it looks now and are already planning to contract with Horizon again in a few months for our second bathroom remodel".

Horizon Construction was such a lucky find for me! I inherited a house from my parents on Balboa Island that was built in 1933. As my parents aged there was a lot of deferred maintenance that needed to be addressed. I had several contractors come and give me estimates and “advice”, but no one took the time like Mike of Horizon Construction did to really find out what I wanted to do and give me realistic quotes.. He was able to preserve the charm and character that the house had, while making it safe and clean with modern amenities. It was a long (8 months+) project, but in that time the quality and care was always there, and my wishes were foremost. I needed to hire a general contractor for a home remodel to include updating 2 bathrooms, lighting installation, repairing termite damaged floors and replacement of new flooring. I invited Horizon Construction for interview and quote based on the remarks made on Angies list and other review web sites. Mark came to my home. He walked into my house without introducing himself. As we walked thru my home to discuss the project, he appeared bothered to be there; and, it wasn't until 45 minutes later that I learned he was the owner. Though he later called with a reasonable quote, I hired another company.

Michael came out as scheduled and we went over what I was looking for Horizon to do to our master bathroom. Michael was professional and pleasant. Later that night he emailed me their bid. A couple of days later I sent him an email with more questions. He responded the following day. In my previous email I had asked about pricing on some Brizo fixtures and he stated that he would have his office folks respond with the required info. A few days later I received a call from Maggie asking how Michael's visit went. I explained that it went well but I was still waiting for the fixture pricing. She said she would look into it and get back to me. A few days further down the road and I still haven't heard back from anyone so I call office and asked for Maggie. Maggie remembered me and said that she would have to contact Michael about pricing. It was around 4:30pm but she said that she was working till 6pm tonight (office closes at 5pm) and that she would call me for sure. It's past 7pm and no call. So with that I emailed Michael stating that I appreciated his time and efforts but I will be using another company for the remodel. I'm not angry at Horizon but I'm disappointed that they failed to follow-up. They seem to be nice folks but follow-up in my case was lacking.

Called, woman I spoke to was courteous & professional, but stated they did not service the Pomona area, which was both surprising and disappointing since under their Angie's list description it states they serve "Los Angeles, Orange and Bernardino counties." As we are in L.A. Cnty and businesses further than Fullerton have done work here, l don't get why they don't. Further, either they or Angie's List needs to update the description to accurately indicate what areas they do business in.

Horizon Construction did a complete master bath remodel for me . They did a great job and stayed on schedule . Their attention to detail and finish work was perfect . When there was a minor problem Horizon handled it without question . I would highly recommend and will use them for my next remodel needs David Sunde

Horizon Construction & Remodeling and Eitan the project manager were awesome! I had several projects done: foundation support, stucco, fascia boards, interior and exterior paint and electrical work. All were done professionally and perfectly. When unexpected issues arose, they were handled quickly & past expectation ! I would definitely use them again

Enna, Mark and team did a great job with our full kitchen remodel. We knocked down two walls, did a large support beam and gutted the complete kitchen. Mark suggested we move the sink and re-profile the window, which turned out to be an excellent suggestion. We're very happy with the kitchen and can now entertain without being stuck in a very warm and small "box" separated from our guests. Enna spent a lot of time with us near the end of the project to make sure we were satisfied and that everything was to our liking.

The bathroom is beautiful. It was very stressful and I agonized over each decision. Mike (project manager) and Robert (contractor) helped with decisions and obtaining materials. Sol was a great worker. Mike assured me that everything was fixable when I was catastrophizing. I had to remind myself of that many times. I'm so glad it's over! I would recommend them.

We recently had our master bath remodeled by Horizon Construction. This was our first experience with a remodel contractor and we didn't really know what to expect. In our first meeting with Mark he made several suggestions that we decided to go with, such as putting in a light above the tub and adding an electrical outlet on the other side of the sink. We really appreciated the fact that Horizon had their own showroom and could make suggestions on combinations of tile, vanities and counter materials. After going to the big box stores and looking at tile and counter top materials and still not knowing what we wanted we found Mark's input invaluable. The workmen all were very good at their jobs. Steps were taken to protect the floors leading to the bathroom under remodel. Trash was removed in a timely manner. There were lots of items we needed to purchase in the first couple of days so that when the walls were rebuilt accommodations could be made for the water supply, drains and electrical. Decisions had to be made along the way and we answered them the same day, so as to not cause a delay in the schedule. There were a couple of issues that came up and Horizon addressed them as we went along. We were so happy with the result that we hesitated to use the bathroom for a couple of days after completion, we didn't want to mess it up. Bottom line is we wouldn't hesitate to use Horizon Construction again.

Our small, old bathroom was starting to have a lot of issues, so we decided a remodel was in order. We found Horizon Construction online and decided to request an estimate based on the reviews. After our first meeting with Mark, we felt comfortable with him and were impressed with professionalism and attention to detail. Their showroom office had many displays and samples that it made it easier for visual people like me and my wife to envision our design. Our bathroom project had a few twists and turns but Mark was very flexible and committed to customer satisfaction. Mark's workers were easy to work with, and the Horizon Construction staff was kind and willing to help with any questions, issues, or concerns we had. All in all, we are happy we got the bigger bathroom we wanted. I would definitely recommend Horizon Construction for home remodels.

When i decided to redo my kitchen, i was very nervous about who to hire and trust to do the work. I'm an older widow with NO experience in all of this. after quite a few interviews, well, there was no other choice. It was HORIZON CONSTRUCTION & REMODELING all the way. Michael R. was my project manager and really listened to me and was so helpful in all ways. Robert and his crew was great. He was always there for me, a giant of a guy in all ways. I had a bathroom and bedroom remodeled by Horizon. They were reasonable on the overall cost when compared to other quotes obtained. Eitan Beznos did an excellent job overseeing this project. He expressed a sense of care and always wanted to make sure I was pleased with the work before moving on. Overall, the workmanship was excellent and I was always guided to make the best decision possible on material and installation. Their workers were courteous and knowledgeable. Horizon left both rooms looking immaculate and ready for me to move back in. The end result of this project surpassed my expectations with the project completing on time. I highly recommend Horizon for any home project.

Horizon Construction did a beautiful job on our remodel. Our our family and friends are raving about the difference between before and after. There so many nice touches that Mark incorporated in the remodel such as the backsplash in the kitchen and including different stone. The crew were professional, diligent, hard working and cleaned up after themselves every day. Mark was flexible and willing to work on any issue without any complaint. He is a perfectionist which means he demands high quality from his crew. He was present during all stages of construction and willing to address any concerns promptly. I highly recommend him and his team.

Great. I loved this co. Our contractor was Eitan Beznos. He was great. Professional, great communicator, ethical and knowledgeable. I not only would use them again - I am using them again later this year for a kitchen remodel.

I Found Horizon Construction & Remodeling thru HomeAdvisor.com actually for another job but had to shift on the fly when a garage repair issue became more pressing. Mark came out and reviewed the job with me onsite and followed up with a quote. While not the lowest, I got a good vibe from Mark and chose Horizon for the repair which entailed removing the entire garage floor and much of the underlying soil. The repair looks great and I have received multiple compliments on the completed work. The crews showed up on time and were diligent in their work. Mark and his team are very quick to respond to inquiries which is a big deal to me. I would use them again without hesitation.

This renovation was a long time coming, & finding Horizon through Angie's List was a blessing. They had a great selection in their showroom of different products. We worked with contractor Mike Roppo, who immediately would answer our calls and was quick to fix any problems. The office was efficient in checking that every step of the renovation was completed on time. Our master bedroom is finally the sweet oasis we had envisioned.

We met with several other shops, and none of them could even envision the finished product or give us a complete estimate. It was a relief when Mike our contractor said at our first meeting, "Well, the good news is that we can do it all." And they did. We have been pleased with the overall quality of the work performed, particularly given everything that needed to be done. (The kitchen cabinets, which Horizon supplied, are particularly high quality.) We also appreciated that Mike worked with us to develop a clear pricing estimate, and that other than two unavoidable change orders, the pricing for the job did not change or expand. Horizon allowed us to supply many of our own materials to accommodate our budget as well. (The total price was expensive, but fair, given the short supply of contractors willing and able to do the whole job. We did not have much leverage to negotiate.) I give Horizon a B instead of an A because we had some communication and timing issues on the job. After we signed the contract in May, the permit submission process was delayed nearly 6 weeks, and while this can be par for the course in some cities, we were not told of the cause for the delay or how the delay was going to impact the project timeline. Instead, we were told and planned on a completion date in early October and were not told until mid-September that the work was actually going to be completed in early November. We had to scramble to extend our temporary lease and find ways to cover the extra costs in our budget. We also had to push several times for deadlines about what materials needed to be selected and supplied and about payments to be made. We asked for a project timeline, but never received one, and so for several materials, we had to scramble in a day or two to supply them when Mike asked for them "asap." Similarly, we offered several times to make progress payments, waited several weeks, and then were asked for large lump sums to cover multiple payments. Both situations caused significant stress. The lack of a timeline particularly caused some problems when we were selecting a countertop. The pattern we selected was in short supply, and it was not ordered in time for installation before we moved in. To their credit, the owners of Horizon recognized the problem, and they absorbed the cost of a different upgraded countertop, which we appreciated. And this brings me to my final point -- the owners of Horizon care deeply about their reputation. After they realized some of the timing issues we had experienced, they offered various upgrades to help us get through the rest of the process. The renovation process is never easy, and frankly, I never want to do it again. But overall, we thought the Horizon crews did a good job.

I had Horizon install cabinets in my laundry area along with a new sink and also install a "wet bar" and media center in my living room. The quality of the work is excellent and I'm extremely happy. Although my house is small, their work gave it character and everyone that visits comments on how great it looks. Emma kept me informed the whole way and Mark helped me design everything I wanted.
