+ 0 moreI got a phone estimate to hang a window shade in one window and I even already had the shade. Their estimate was so high you would think I had asked them to perform brain surgery. Almost $300 to hang one window shade? Really? When I said no, he was willing to come down to $90. But it would not take more than an hour to hang that shade. Needless to say I did not use their services.
Description of Work: No services were performed. The estimate was too high.

Description of Work: I had a fountain not working. He spent the first 20 minutes examining and figuring out what was wrong. Explained to me what the problem was and what he needed to do. He proceeded to work for the next hour cleaning, and fixing.Explained what we need to do, in the long run, to keep it humming. It is working perfectly. Had about 40 minutes left on the 2 hours. He installed a small chandelier one of our bathrooms, installed the crystals.

+ 1 moreThe gentleman performing the job came on time, in fact he was early. He was extremely polite and courteous throughout the job. I was very impressed. He finished the service ahead of schedule and did another project for me while he was here. Everything turned out great so far. I really won't know how well the job was done until we start to get some rain again. The only issue was that it was a bit pricey. They did tell me ahead of time though, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: They came and sanded a window down. Then they caulked it and did some painting.

+ -1 moreI met the handyman at a house that we lease out. He was exactly on time. I showed him the problems and he examined each item. Then he told me I needed a few parts. I went to buy them while he worked on the fan (which did not need a part). When I returned, he completed the repairs, cleaned the bathroom, explained the bill and charges and then asked if I had any questions. Good experience.
Description of Work: The handyman repaired a running toilet, replace a faulty electrical switch and quieted a noisy bathroom fan. Very polite, professional, and prompt. A nice competent guy!

+ -1 moreThe service went well, and the worker was timely and punctual, but the next day when I had an issue with the on/off switch they said they couldn’t service me and that Amazon.com would have to replace it under warranty. I felt that they should come out to repair what may have been incorrectly assemble rather than calling Amazon.com to replace the part and pay for another assembly. I will go elsewhere to have the new unit assembled when it arrives.
Description of Work: I called them to assemble some fitness equipment that needed put together.

+ -1 moreThe work went very smoothly. It took only 45 minutes. The company has a two-hour minimum for the price estimate given in advance for the job we described. If there are other small jobs that the handyman could do in the time remaining, it is recommended that he do those as well. We had two more minor fix-its, which he took care of. All together he was here less than two hours. The total labor cost was $278.00, materials cost was $25.00, a 10% discount as a first-time user through Angie's List was $27.80. The company was easy to work with but their minimum time principle is important to understand from the beginning in planning.
Description of Work: A fascia board extending down from the roof on the front of the house needed to be shortened at one end where a tree trunk had pushed against it and loosened it. After removing the board, a short piece was sawed off, the board was reattached to the roof overhang, and the sawed-off end was painted. .

Description of Work: I’m disappointed with Mr. Handyman and would not use them again. I had a number of small plumbing problems that needed fixing: (1) A kitchen faucet that wouldn’t swivel, (2) installing an under counter water filter (very simple), (3) a stuck faucet handle, (4) a leaky shower head, and (5) installing a new drain stop. Also, while the technician was here, I asked him to look at a leaky vanity faucet. My first complaint is it took him a really long time. The technician was here for five hours. During that time, he installed the water filter, fixed the stuck faucet handle, and installed the drain stop. He could not fix the kitchen faucet, the vanity faucet, or the leaky shower head. It seemed like he was here a long time with very limited results to show for his efforts. My other complaint is, not only could he not fix the leaky shower head, he made it worse and it started dripping inside the wall. As a result, I asked him to cap it off. Since we have two shower heads in the shower, he had to cover the hole with duct tape so water wouldn’t get inside the wall from the shower head that was still working. After this, he was finished and left for the day. Unfortunately, I got no advice on next steps and was left with an ugly duct taped hole in our shower. In fact, he made the problem a lot worse. I received a call from the office manager and the owner the next day to check on my satisfaction. When the owner (Teddy) called, he offered me a reduced rate to fix the two items if I could get the parts. Although I had hoped to get the parts, a new kitchen faucet and new shower valve, I learned it wasn’t that easy. I was able to get the kitchen faucet, but the shower valve was a different story. I had to call a qualified plumber for help and it eventually cost another $800 for the parts and the repairs. The plumber also said he would have been able to replace the leaky valve the first time for a lot less than the cost of the repair. I received a review request from Mr. Handyman sometime later. After I responded and they read my review, they called and offered to reimburse me $110 for my additional trouble and were very apologetic. That was about six weeks ago and I still haven’t received the check. At this point, I guess they had a change of heart and my troubles are less important to them. I did not rate then an as an “F” since they did fix some things. However, I certainly would not use them again, nor would I recommend them.
