I was very impressed. When my friend set up her account on Caring Transitions, she sent out invitations provided by the application via email to people she thought would be interested in how her mother was doing. It was very easy to set up my account, which sent me directly to the page about her mother. As soon as my friend posted an update I was notified by email that there was something new on the web page and provided the link to the page. I could simply read the update or add my comments as well. I was very relieved to know how my friend and her mother were doing without pestering her constantly.
Description of Work: I was a user of this service, which was employed by a friend whose mother was terminally ill. It is a wonderful way of keeping family and friends up to date on what is going on with their loved one without making dozens of phone calls or sending out bunches of emails. It also provides a central location for people to send their well wishes. Pictures can be posted as well.

Mike and Julie are two of the most caring people I've found in the two months I've been dealing with closing up an estate. Mike is so knowledgeable about all kinds of antiques, valuables, heirlooms, and everyday items as well. He made sure my valuables got sold and the junk was donated or recycled if possible. Julie has a good sense of what works for prepping homes for sale, and was so considerate of my limited budget. She went to great lengths to make sure I got the most for the money I spent in prepping the home for sale. Thanks to you both; Caring Transitions is just that: caring.

Mike was prompt, courteous and very understanding of the emotional difficulty I was having parting with the remaining items in my parents' home. He and his staff were very respectful of the home and asked questions when they weren't sure about an item, and understood when at the last minute I changed my mind about keeping a couple of items that had more sentimental value to me than I first thought. They were very quick to clear out everything once it was all boxed up, and even swept out the garage when they took the last load of items that needed to go to the dump. I would and have recommended them to friends and family who either need to help an elderly family member to downsize and move, or need to clear out a home in preparation for sale.
Description of Work: I contacted Caring Transitions to help me to dispose of the remaining items in my parents' home after they had passed away and I was preparing to sell the house. Mike came out to the house exactly when scheduled, did a quick assessment of the items in the house and gave me an estimate of the value of the items remaining. We had talked about having an estate sale on the property, but decided due to the lack of furniture still in the home that the best option would be to do a "buy out", and move the remaining items (some furniture, general household goods, a few antiques, china, silver) to their warehouse for their monthly warehouse sale. We discussed boxing and moving items out for donation and disposal as well. We set a date in the next week for him to return with extra help to do a more detailed assessment and sort, pack and move the remaining items out of the house. He came back on the date as scheduled. He and his helpers were very quick and got the whole house ready to be emptied within a day. His detailed assessment for the buyout was actually 30% higher than the original estimate, which was a pleasant surprise.

Very, very well. See above comments.
Description of Work: Julie and Mike are incredible- they helped me move my mother's belongings twice (to a local assisted care facility and then out-of-state to move near me). During these two rather traumatic times, Julie and Mike (and Mike's son) were exceptionally helpful and accessible at a reasonable cost. They have a lot of experience in helping families move their elder relatives from the elders' homes into assisted living or nursing homes:not only did they help with the actual moves, Julie helped me plan what furniture would work in the assisted living space so I would not move furniture that didn't work and helped me sell the remainder, and helped store what was needed. I wish that Julie and Mike could do this same service nation-wide - there is tremendous need for this type of service, and Julie and Mike are phenomenally trustworthy as well.
