my house smelled like dog urine and the carpet cleaner used some chemical or enzyme and the smell was lifted out of my carpet . it saved me from having to replace my carpet
Here are the negatives- I was told the carpet would dry in 3 hours. He finished at 4 pm, but the carpet wasn't actually dry until the next morning. Damon, was pleasant and said he gave me a break on some services, but he kept discussing how his up-selling helped him make his bonus for the week. I expected to pay more than the $99.00 or 199.00 coupon and had budgeted around $200-250. I really think $230 was a reasonable price. He meant well and I think he was just doing his job. But telling me that charging me more help him make more money was TMI. He did a good job, the service he offered were actually needed and I may request him again. I would just suggest that if he offers more services than stated on a promotion, keep the fact that he personally benefited from selling them to himself.
The young man that came out was very professional and ended up selling me more rooms than I signed up for (cause the phone staff couldn't take time to help me understand what I'd get.)
My rugs and couches are white. After the cleaning, the couches end up looking dull or muddied as if dirty water was used (but they plugged into my outside hoses, so I don't think that was the problem). There was one portion of the couch that was uncleaned and it was dayglow white compared to the cleaned pportion. I was told it was becasue the couches were old and worn. Ok, that was true, so I guess it is what it is.
With the white carpets I don't accept that excuse. The rugs were new only 2-1'2 years ago and not enough people lived in the house to cause much damage so I hardly know how they got so worn that they couldn't get the heavy traffic areas clean. He said he couldn't do better with the heavy traffic areas and I shouldn't go barefoot in the house cause it cause foot oils are hard to get out. The other excuse is the carpet was worn and the fabrics split causing problems they cant' get out.
The only part that I liked was that most of the heavy spots got cleaned. The rest of the rugs dont't look a s white/clean as I expected. All in all, I could have (and have) done as well with the rug shampooer I own.
The benefit is that 1) I didn't have to do it myself 2) most of the stains got removed (wish he used the stain remover on the traffic areas) 3) eco-friendly products. The only reason I gave this group a C instead of a D is because, not having had rugs shampooed before, I dont' know if my expectations were too high. My neighbor recommended their guy (oh, I asked for the recommended guy, but the office sent someone else), but I think I'll try someone else next time.
