The company was great. They did take a little longer than I would have liked to start, however, the price and quality of the patio cover and solar panels was great. There was an issue with my solar loan due to Quality First taking so long to complete the project, however, they worked with me every step of the way to ensure I got a new loan.

I have a metal lift in my home, so they picked it part of roofing. I watched them do everything. They were okay because my concern was the middle roof because middle roofs are not meant to be walked on. They did okay. He told me if i am not happy i should call back.

Wow....what an awesome crew. They did an excellent job getting my old house cleaned, repaired and primed for painting. The house looks like brand new. Even my neighbors are impressed with the work done by this company, including one who just had his house painted the month before. Nice workers, even though English was not their native language they were on time, polite, answered all my questions and cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be happier with this company. From sales people, to inspector, to workers, the were all top notch, helpful and informative.

the initial visit for quoting was quite the process. the sales person was late by about 45 minutes, but his coworker was on time, so this made for an awkward time to fill while the main guy with all the information showed up. the sales pitch was long and drawn out (took about 3 hrs total), but he was very thorough and detailed on all aspects of the windows their quality and warranty. the day of the install went well. we had 10 windows and a sliding door being replaced. 5 guys showed up about 9 am and had everything done and cleaned up by 5 pm. everyone was very respectful of my things. they cleaned up everything before leaving. overall it was a very good experience, we are very happy with our new windows/sliding door. we will likely call them again when it is time to replace the front door and roof. (yes, they provide this service as well)

They're fine. I think they're a little pricey than other companies but if you have a problem you can call them and they'll take care of it. They show up on time, they've been responsive to my calls, when they had someone come out to give me estimates they spend a lot of time breaking down everything and the sales persons that I've been talking to are good. I've been able to connect with them as a company and they do so much. They're a big company and they do a lot of things. I spent about $50000 in total with them.
Description of Work: I used Quality First Home Improvement, Inc. for several things: they put in some sliding glass doors, replaced all my windows, they put in more insulation in my attic, it's a very old house so I needed work done on it and I had a water heater put in and it worked so well and then I had the whole thing converted to solar.

The sales representative was very professional. The sales representative was knowledgeable about egress. There was no formal estimate provided. We received a hand written piece of paper that simply stated the number of windows to be replaced and the cost with some other details on it. There were no other specifics on it such as window size etc. It was written on a form called ?Addendum to Sales Contract?. The windows they are selling were Amerimax windows. They are made exclusively for Quality First Home Improvement. They are a very good quality window. We did not choose this vendor because their price was higher than the other bids we received.

At first I thought they did a good job but I have not been up on the roof myself until this pass weekend. Several of the installed hardware has paint already peeling away. They have not been on my house for a full year yet, but the quality of the products have me severely concerned. This week I will be contacting the company to see what they will do to repair the issue. I did not pay for a cheap roof job. This is supposed to be a 50 year roof. The contractor put on all 'new' hardware, sheeting, comp, and anything else necessary to complete the job.

We had a patio cover installed on the back of our two story home- we were showed an example before the installation and it had a flat cover with the insulation in between two covers so you could push snow off incase we had two ft. or more snow. Our cover has approx. 5and quot; deep on top with approx. 5and quot; border. If we had any snow, we could not push the snow off. We were told this patio cover would be able to hold the snow and not fall down to the heaviness of the snow. If it did, we could turn it over to our Insurance Co.

I had used this company twice before in 2012. Had windows installed and insulation put in attic. It took awhile from the contract date to the installation date, but once everything had been obtained, there was no problem with installation. They worked very orderly and finished in just 1 day with a few details finished up the next morning. Now I had to wait for PG&E to check the work out and change the meter used. After 3 weeks I called to see if all the paperwork had gone in. And no, one was missing and holding up the process. Deanna drove up to my house and got that one sheet done and submitted all the paperwork again to PGE. May 22nd PGE came out and did the inspection and changed the meter AND turned it on. I was so happy! I took a bit off for responsiveness, orderliness that kept me from using the solar sooner. They were not quite up on the paperwork and it cost me another month of PGE. I found that sometimes calls were not answered in a timely manner. I had to keep on them to make sure I didn't fall through the cracks. I mentioned this to them as a general overall problem. They do great work and stand behind it if you can work around the telephone calls going to voicemail and not being returned. I overlooked it but I know it needs mentioning here.

They did an excellent job. The first couple of days, they were here over the weekend, they kind of left stuff lying around which I didn't like so when I called them on it on Monday, that was the last time they did that. They took care of making sure that the stuff was cleaned up instead of leaving a mess for me to look at. They were painting on the hottest day of the year and some of his stuff got a halo and they came back and redid by hand where the halo was. A month later, I'm looking at it and there's other halos so I called and said this didn't work properly, I think it's because it was so hot, they're going to need to come back and re-spray this entire side and they did. They did not charge me for any additional paint. I've recommend him to other friends.

I usually don't work with companies that send people door to door soliciting business. I felt bad for the canvasser and decided to let her book an appointment on a rental unit that needs replacement windows. I received a card with the specific date and time, they had the proper address and my cell number. I even spoke to the booker and quot;Mikeand quot; on the phone to reconfirm all the details. They no showed on the day they set up with me. I was at the location 3 hours prior and two hours after the appointment time doing other odd jobs. I even waited outside at the appointed time to make sure they could see someone was there. No call, no show. Today I get a call from a lady telling me I was not there at the right time and they wanted to give me the opportunity to reschedule. I advised her I was there and she continues to tell me that wasn't the case and their people were there. I won't deal with a company that calls me a liar and can't own up to their own error. If this how they do business, I don't want them involved in working on my home.

We got several quotes and I liked Quality first because of their professional salesman and their ability to make the windows larger. Some other companies only do slip in replacements and won't cut into a wall, so keep this in mind. They had some promotions going which upgraded us to triple pain etc. The windows took two weeks to order after we committed to the job and they installed promptly afterwards. They required a 1000 dollar down payment initially, and we paid the remaining 8000 after the job was complete. One additional complexity of this job was my asbestos siding, which they handled nicely and did not charge extra for dealing with. The installation took two days and I was home during the bulk of the work. Every member of their team was professional and courteous from the project coordinator to the foreman to the laborers. We joked around and they explained how everything worked. They were respectful of my home and pets and took measures to keep things clean and safe. There was a lot of dust due to the cut-downs but that was expected. Bottom line is that my new windows are amazing, beautiful and highly functional. It feels like a newer, more modern house and I don't regret it one bit. Another contractor may have had a slightly lower price, but considering the quality of their product and the way in which they conducted themselves I would use them again for other jobs and recommend them highly. There is very little left for me to do after they left. Only on the windows that were cut down do I need to paint a little around the edges, which will take an hour or so. On the ones that weren't cut down there is nothing to do, they are perfect.
Description of Work: We had every window in our house replaced with Quality First's PlyGem product, which are triple-pained gas filled windows. Our house was built in 1957 and had the original storm windows with aluminum frames. I chose quality first because they could do cut-downs, which is what they refer to making a window opening larger. I had three of my 10 windows cut down to a larger sizes, two of which now go all the way down to 18" off of the floor. Wow, I highly recommend this if you want to see your back yard, etc. Included with the windows is a "quick-case", which basically means the windows are completely finished on the inside with really nice molding all the way around each window. We chose side-sliders and the product is very, very nice. They have locks built in, they are extremely efficient and they they block out much more sound than the old ones as well. I can no longer hear the highway which is about a half mile away. We paid just shy of 9,000 for this job.

I was impressed with the competence both of the estimator and the two who did the replacement. My only caveat was that they had said the windows would be replaced in January, but they didn't arrive until early February. However, the weather in January was brutal, and it seemed a very bad time to replace windows (I'm in Reno, not Sacramento). Eventually I hope to have them replace more windows. I was really pleased with their work.

Their product was supposed to be top of the line and it wasn't. They didn't use primer most of the time so the paint would crack and peel. The painter was lazy, he did not do a good job at all. I would not recommend them for anything.

First of all they do an excellent project. They do rebar 24 inch on the center, they do a 6 bag pour, they are extremely good at the aesthetics so they design a really nice looking piece of concrete. They ripped up the old concrete, put in new. The team was on time, they did the job exactly the way they were supposed to do it - I videotaped it even. I thought it was such a great job. They didn't damage anything else while they were tearing this thing out or putting it in or anything. And it was done in a day. Absolutely excellent work. The only thing that I wasn't wowed about is that they have kind of a high pressure sales group. They have telemarketers and door to door people and when the salesman comes out, it's one of those: "If I can get you to sign this today, they I can lock in that price, but I can't guarantee it." You know, that kind of crap. I've been with sales people for a long time and I know how that game works. You have to let them walk away, they'll come back later with a lower price. But I negotiated with them for over a period of two or three weeks and they finally came in and do the job that I wanted them to do. Other companies don't pour as thick a concrete or they don't put in rebar, or they put in a gravel base and so they come out cheaper, but it's stuff that you can't drive over, it will break. So Quality First really, really does a solid job. They put root barriers in, so that roots can't come back and grow underneath the concrete, which I thought was neat. And they put drains underneath the concrete, so it drains off to the side.

I gave this company a ?D? instead of an ?F? because they actually showed up. I was looking to have my home re-roofed so I had a sales representative from Quality First visit to talk about their company, measure my roof and provide a quote. The visit was supposed to be at 4:00 but he didn?t show until 4:45, without a call. The visit lasted WAY to long, to the point that the rest of my family ended eating dinner while I was still dealing with the salesman (and I?m not particularly talkative). Eventually I got the quote out of him and was astonished at how high it was (initially 3X) compared to my neighbor?s roof which is being done by another company and is basically the same floor plan. After telling the salesman I would have to see other quotes his response was one of irritation and he proceeded to complain about his competitors. Two days later I returned a call from another individual at their office not more than a couple of hours after he left a message on my answering machine. The individual started out by asking when he had called me (don?t you know?), who my salesman was (didn?t he know?) and when the salesman visited me (again, don?t you know?). After I helped with these details, he then offered to come down on the quoted price if I would agree to allow my house to be used as a ?model home? for marketing purposes. I?m 65 years old and recognize a marketing scam when I see one. When I told their representative I expected the original quote to be the ?real? one and that I wasn?t in the habit of dealing with roofing companies the same way I would deal with a car dealership he simply?.hung up on me! So, for those in need of home improvement work my advice would be simply this. If you want to get a quote from this company, do so. Just be sure to get quotes from highly rated Angie?s List companies as well and don?t let a high pressure salesman or other marketing rep pressure you. There are lots of good firms around and with many of them you will be able to deal directly with the owner/installer, unlike Quality First.

It was the best experience I've ever had with any company doing work at my house. One of the reason I bought windows from this company was they offered a lifetime warranty on all windows. Well here it is not even three years later and one of the windows cracked, the inside pane of three panes inside the bedroom. They are not returning calls or messages asking when the replacement window will be installed. I reported the crack on February 18, 2014 and today is May 12, 2014. Now they are saying it was an act of god that cracked the window so it's not covered. Unbelievable. And complete lack of customer service. They won't even return a phone call to keep me informed. Stay far, far away from this company.
Description of Work: They came in and replaced eight windows and one sliding glass door and it took them only seven hours to do everything, and everything was done right. The group that came were tidy, respectful and professional. Update - the warranty seems to be worth less than the paper it's printed on.

We talked to them and it was a very bad experience. I asked them to let me think about it. They called me a week later and told them that I was not interested. They asked me why and I told them that $6000 for two windows was why. They said thank you and hung up. Then they called back and I told them again that we were not interested. Then they called back again and I asked them to please stop calling me. That is when they stopped calling me. The second guy who called told me he was another manager or something like that. But nobody offered to lower the price. They didn't listen until I told them to stop calling. They were right on time.

This company solicited their services at my home. I set an appointment for an estimate which took at least 2 hours of my time only to be given an unreasonable bid of slighty over $1600.00 to replace my roof with comp. The appointment was like sitting with a salesman at a car lot. After the appointment, I was hounded on the phone for nearly 9 months. They called from numberous numbers even after I told them how ridiculous they were. They tried to sale me on a recent reduction in cost when I mistakenly answered their call. It wasn't until I had another knock at my door almost a year later that I told that salesman to leave me alone and take me off of any and every list you have me on - your company is nothing but an overpriced pest. They finally quit calling.

Two weeks later another salesman wants to use house for posting signs to advertise at cheaper price for windows, appointment at 11am. I was up most of night before very ill, did not hear doorbell, too sick to come to door until I heard them slam the screen door in anger. High pressure salesman trying to make a sale, would never use this company.
Description of Work: Door salesman asking to have someone give quote for window replacements. Told them planning new windows in the future, sales rep gave 45 minutes of explanation of product, price way too high even after supposed discounts. I'm very sorry that your experience with Quality First was such an unfavorable one. We appreciate your comments and your honesty about the situation and will use your comments to improve our company. It is not our policy to employ people who treat our customers and potential customers with disrespect as these employees did. When employees with negative attributes such as these are discovered they are let go, for there is no room in the Quality First world for employees that have bad attitudes especially when those attitudes are directed at customers, or anybody for that matter. We are committed to excellence in everything that we do and strive to improve upon ourselves every day. We have over 350 employees and over 19,000 satisfied customers and we are very proud of those numbers, but we want even the people that aren’t our customers to have great experiences with us. We have restructured our customer service department to better provide a quality experience with our customers and potential customers. We very excited about this change because it is a winning situation for everybody. Once again, we are sorry that your experience with us was not satisfactory, but we are very thankful for your input. Should you ever choose to become involved with our company in the future you will find it to be a much different experience. Thank you for your time.

It all began one afternoon when my husband went outside to reattach the mud flaps on my van while I got the baby ready to leave (we were going on an outing together). A man approached him and asked if we were planning on any remodeling. Ironically enough, the two of us had just discussed a remodel project we want to do several years from now, when we have money saved for it. So 30 minutes and one very fussy baby later we had an appointment for 6pm two days out to give an estimate so we know what we're getting ourselves into and "to keep his guys busy with work". Bill arrived at 5:30 without calling to say that he'd be early. So my husband and I had to skip eating dinner so we could start the appointment half an hour early than expected. Bill discussed what we liked and didn't like about our kitchen, brought in some samples for us to work with, and used some really neat little stencils to draw up our kitchen layout. He touted the knowledge and ethics of his company's owners and described his interaction with them "over at corporate" as jovial. He said that he'd been sent by corporate to promote new jobs with some limited savings certificates for varying amounts of money. He was surprised when we said that the person who had scheduled his visit with us was not from corporate but from the branch office in San Jose. Maybe whoever didn't tell him the appointment time wasn't until 6pm also didn't tell him how our business had been solicited. Anyway, even though we'd described, in detail, our plans to wait to remodel the kitchen for a few years and that we merely wanted an estimate Bill pressured us to accept the work right then with his limited time discount certificate, at 8pm in my dining room. We reminded him several times as he continued to pressure us that it would be highly irresponsible for us to begin any remodeling right now. Finally he seceded. Then he brought up the sliding glass door we'd mentioned replacing. And brought in his sliding glass door cutouts and measured the door. He told us about how this factory in Woodland made doors just for them with a revolutionary process that had just come out 14 months ago. Cool. At 9pm he gave us an estimate for the slider with another one of his savings certificates. My husband and I were both hesitant to sign for it because we would be relying on our tax refund to pay for the work, and needed to make sure we had enough left over for other bills as well. When my husband explained this, Bill ASKED HOW MUCH OUR REFUND WOULD BE. I found this to be extremely inappropriate and my husband was so caught off guard that he couldn't say anything. I stepped in and said it would be enough, but our original point remained. It took me half an hour, but I convinced him to let us call him the next day with our decision regarding the slider. Finally, at 9:30pm, my husband escorted Bill and the last of his samples to the car while I threw together a super quick dinner. I called around the next day for other contractors with the same product to see if I could get any comparable quotes. One of the places I called described the same exact door, coming from a nationwide retailer who had a local factory in Woodland (coincidence?) and quoted me at $1,933, including an allotment for lead paint cautions-which is something I appreciate because our house was built prior to the 1979 cutoff, and I hadn't thought of the issue with the prior quote. We had been quoted at $4,210 with Quality First Home Improvements, and with the savings certificate it came down to $2,710. My husband called Bill that evening to tell him we would not be pursuing the door with him and he thanked him for calling and then asked what my husband does for a living. Even though the night prior Bill had stated that he never asks what people do for work because it's "just rude," my husband answered. Bill thanked him for our time and that was the end of that. All in all, I found the estimation process too lengthy, the sales pitch too pushy, the product to be not nearly as exclusive as he claimed and grossly overpriced, and the salesman self-contradictory. I'm not interested in working with Quality First Home Improvement. A quick Google search on them turned up some more information that leads me to believe my husband and I made the right decision. I have no experience with their work, but if it's anything like their estimation process it's a pain in the butt and not worth it.
Description of Work: We had an individual come perform a kitchen remodel estimate. Through our discussion of the living area in our house he also ended up giving us an estimate for a sliding glass door replacement.
