My wife hired these people to do housekeeping twice a month for 3 months. We initially agreed to pay for less cleanings, and paid for that. Then we decided to pre-pay for more cleanings in order to get a package deal, and gave the company's representative a second check, so that the two checks added up to the agreed upon price for two cleanings a month for 3 months. After a few cleanings, we received a call from the company stating that we needed to pay more for the service to continue. It turns out that the company's representative who signed us up (with the extra long pinky fingernail) had pocketed the second check we gave him and never changed our service contract. After my wife went down there in person to show the office person our bank account records with copies of both checks, they apologized and offered us a free cleaning. After the 7th cleaning was done (6 + 1 free), now we receive a $109 bill for the last cleaning, which the office person says we never paid for, and they have no record of a "free cleaining" we were suppposed to receive. Garbage! I will say the cleaning ladies we had most of the time did a good job, but one time we had a couple of younger girls who did a terrible job and seemed to hate being there. Upon shopping around after the fact, we also realized that their prices are way too high for the level of service they actually provide, even in a hypothetical world where they didn't repeatedly try to screw us out of money.

Clean Master has been servicing Butte County for over 20 years. If we were in the business to "screw" people out of money, we wouldn't be in business. Unfortunately there was a mistake in the billing. The representative that this customer is talking about went immediately to the bank to deposit the check given to him after leaving the customers home and forgot to tell the secretary in the office. When the mistake was discovered we did ask for proof of the check because the representative was out of the country and we could not get ahold of him to confirm. Once we did, he remembered the check but before that I had told the customer if she wanted the situation resolved sooner, that she could bring us proof from her bank. I have been working in the office for 5 years and nothing like that had ever happened before, and believe me when I say that it never will again. We were sorry and we did offer the customer an extra cleaning. When the customer called about the bill I tried to explain that they were wrong in the number of cleanings, but the customer was irrational, screaming and wouldn't let me talk. The customer was still angry about the mistake with the check and looking to blame us for something. This customer ended up getting 2 free cleanings because they refused to pay for their last cleaning and we did perform the free cleaning. We did not feel it was worth the effort to pursue this in court for only $109.00. We feel that our prices are fair and competitive. The only people you will find cheaper in this area probably are not licensed, bonded or insured. You can hire anyone off the street or from craigslist or a student for $15/hour but where is the accountability? What if they steal something? What if they break something? Can they afford to replace it? We have insurance. We do background checks on all our employees. We are rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau and have a good reputation in Chico, Paradise, Oroville, etc. Unfortunately, in this case, the first mistake was ours in the office. We are willing to admit our mistakes, learn from them and correct them to make a better company. However, this customer was not satisfied with anything we tried to do to correct our original mistake and we were sorry that we were unable to satisfy him as a customer. With a company as big as ours, with the hundreds of customers that we have, we realize that we can't please everyone, though we do try our hardest.

Two ladies were sent over, the key to #3 was left in the mailbox. There are two doors next to each other about 6 feet apart with the #3 on them. The ladies tried one door and not the other and left because they did not have the sense to try the other door. The next day, two ladies entered and "cleaned". All the wire shelves in the frig were still dirty. There was stuff left in the butter draw and the freezer was still dirty and the top of the frig was dirty. The top of all 5 fan blades were filthy (never cleaned at all) and the sills and blinds in the living room still dirty. The stove still had dirt spots and they covered everything inside and out with this disgusting greasy stuff to make it "shine". It looks to me that they were trying to cover the dirt. This greasy polish also attracts dust and is a chemical the smells when you use the oven and burners. I asked they to remove it and they refused. I paid them--just to get rid of them. Trying to get them to clean to my satisfaction was like talking to a wall. They had a "Pat" answer of everything. I felt I was dealing inept unprofessional people. On the third day a "manager" came and she cleaned (everything except the freezer, which after I paid them, they refused to return and clean). She told me that the cleaning dept. does not do the blinds and sills. The blinds are done by the Binds Dept. and the sills by the Window Dept. They will not clean blinds on site, you have to bring them to their office of pay $30 for pick up and delivery and spend time meeting them twice or diving there. All this for 2 small blinds.
Description of Work: About April or May 2008: Clean parts of a kitchen that needed a little more cleaning (stove, frig, sink, floor and light fixture) left dirty by moving tenant. Clean ceiling fan in living room, sills and blinds of two small windows that were dusty but NOT filthy.

It happens in the cleaning industry that sometimes a cleaner will miss a spot or two. At Clean Master we have 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee and you can call us back within 48 hours for us to correct any mistakes that are on the contract. (To be honest, I'm the office manager and most of the time, even if the complaint comes 4-5 days later I send the teams back anyway if they have missed a spot. Our cleaners are human and sometimes miss something, but we always get the job done.) With this customer, from the beginning she was very difficult. She kept adding things and taking things off the contract to see what would make the cleaning cheaper. $100 for a move out cleaning is a VERY good price. When the girls arrived to do the cleaning she kept trying to get them to clean things that were not on the contract. Basically she was trying to get extra work out of the cleaners for free. In a business where communication is not as good as with our company, she probably would have gotten away with this. If they are minor things, we tell the maids to go ahead and clean what the customer asks for. Usually they are small things the customer has forgotten to tell the estimator and the extra things don't take more than a couple minutes to take care of. However, this customer asked for many things and obviously became frustrated that she was not getting her way, and not getting these things for free. We sent people back to her apartment 3-4 times to try and take care of what she wanted anyway because we still try to please the customer. However, I was on the phone with an employee trying to coordinate what was going on, when I heard the customer in the background yelling and screaming and using racist remarks to the point that I told my employee that she did not have to stay if she was being verbally abused like that. To tell the customer to call the manager and that I would take over from there. The employee decided to remain and still try to please the customer. Later that day the customer did call back to apologize for the way she treated my employee, which we greatly appreciated until her apology turned into another rant about wanting cleaning done for free that was not on our contract. While we try to stick to the policy that the customer is always right, there is only so much that we can allow our employees to go through, they have rights too and should not have to deal with racism on the job. To further address this customer's complaints, we do have separate services/technicians who do the window and blind cleaning. This was explained to her when we did the walk through for the estimate. We ultrasonically clean the blinds which is a much better way of cleaning than to just dust them. For two blinds we would have charged her $20 and if she had told us she wanted them cleaned in the first place, we would have waived the pick-up/delivery fee as we always do on move out cleanings since we are already there. Most of you can understand that a pick-up/delivery fee is there to cover our gas costs and employee time. We had gone back to the customer's rental 2 times before she admitted that she wanted the blinds cleaned (she would tell the maids she wanted them cleaned but when a supervisor spoke to her she didn't tell us that because she was trying to get them cleaned at no cost). As far as the window cleaning, our technicians clean them inside, outside, screens and tracks and do a much better job than our maids can with a bottle of Windex and a cloth. Again, if she had told us from the beginning that is what she wanted, we would have had the maids clean the windows that way anyway. Our minimum is $8/window so again, it would not have been a lot of money to clean. At most, $30. This was another service she was trying to get out of the maids for free. Even after we cleaned, her tenant came into the office and told us that he had seen the apartment, that it was spotless and he didn't know what she was complaining about. He said when he moved in the apartment was old, there were things that needed to be replaced and there were stains that no one could get out. We have gone into houses and performed cleanings where the customer is absolutely amazed. Stains that the customer never thought would come out and had accepted them as permanent. Most of the time we can clean these, if we can't we are experienced enough to know before we try and let the customer know if we can't make something old look brand new. We can clean things, but we can't fix them. That is also something this customer could not accept or understand.
