We are very happy that we found Welcome Home Landscaping. Ken and Emily helped us design our new backyard landscaping, suggested some new design ideas we hadn't thought about, were flexible and responsive to our needs, and did great work to complete our beautiful yard. Their subcontractors were also of high quality and did excellent and timely work. We will not hesitate to hire them again the next time we are looking for landscaping and design.

The name of the company “welcome home“ really defines what they represent. They make you want to come home and see your beautiful landscape. It started off great with Ken and his partner in terms of getting an estimate, scheduling the work and implementing the project. They are super knowledgeable and passionate about their work. However, after the project was finished, we immediately needed to pay someone to remove the soil they used and replace it with new top soil as weeds began to grow wildly. This was expensive. It's been less than a year since the project was completed, and we already need some minor painting and repairs to the hardscape they built (e.g. fixing a gate, a fence, etc.), but after a first visit, they refused to do so. They tried to get us to deal with their subcontractor directly who said he wouldn't come to do the repairs as he hadn't been paid by Welcome Home. Welcome Home's response to us? Go hire a handyman, it's not our problem. They also told us their work wasn't under any warranty.

Yes, we are passionate about our work. Unfortunately, you were not completely honest on your review. To clarify the truth of the matter, per your blueprint we performed the work in every detail in accordance with the blueprint and we consulted with you every step of the way. We advised you that once your project was completed that you would need regular maintenance and upkeep to keep your landscape looking good and we offered you our service. We installed premium plants and top quality soil for each plant and we never left any topsoil for you to remove and replace. Your failure to provide regular maintenance was not our responsibility. We gave you a beautiful picturesque garden throughout your property. As for the hardscape, the independent contractor that performed that portion of the work was paid in full and on time by Welcome Home Landscape when he completed the work. We also followed up with some of the minor issues such as fixing a gate latch, painting the railing on the back stairs and some loose pebbles along the back walkway that you brought to our attention that was caused by the independent contractor and we personally took care of those issues to your satisfaction. I am saddened to hear that you could not work with the independent contractor that did the hardscape work. I provided you his contact information and I took the time to speak to him regarding the one loose cable on the side yard area that is now your main issue. You need to work directly with the hardscape contractor that specializes in that kind of work he did for you. This is not the kind of work we do and you knew that from the very beginning when we consulted with you.Jess H.

Ken was very prompt coming out and giving us a quote when we inquired on Angie's list. Ken and team came out and removed the old lawn rototilled, and got our sprinklers working. He setup the sprinklers on a timer and everything looked beautiful. A couple days later we noticed a leak coming out from the ground near one of the risers. I called Ken and he came out the same day. He found the source of the leak and fixed it. This all happened on a weekend. We were impressed with his dedication to make sure we were satisfied. I recommend Ken to anyone needing landscape services at a reasonable price.

Fair. Last year I hired Kenneth based upon positive reviews on Angie's list & his availability & pricing. Initially, I was pleased with the work. However, I did not do a thorough inspection. If I had, I would have noticed areas in which he literally "cut corners" by not staking down the bender boards at all the corners of the sidewalk and driveway. Initially this shortcut was not problematic. However, over the past few months the boards came loose and began to create trip hazards. This loosening of the boards was not a result of normal wear and tear, since on the corners where the boards were staked down the boards remained in place. Instead what happened over the past few months was a result of inconsistent workmanship. If he had staked down the bender boards at EVERY corner, this loosening would not have occurred. When I contacted him today to show him pictures of this poor work and inquire about repair of this problem, he told me that I would have to pay him $125 per hour for the repairs....repairs that were due to his inconsistent work quality. No thank you. As my mother would say: "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you."

If we could provide an A+ rating we would. Ken and Emily were extremely helpful in helping us figure out what we wanted. In our initial meeting, they listened to us rambling on about random things we liked. They tossed out a few ideas that really helped us formulate a plan. While they were working on the writtten estimate, they emailed us some pics of plants that fit the description of things that I liked visually - colors, textures, variation in heights as well as low maintenance. The crew was professional, they were here when they said they would be here, cleaned the site daily, and the project was on time and on budget. The bonus was getting to work with Ken and Emily - they made the project FUN! We've been putting this off for YEARS as we were intimidated and overwhelmed by the space and now, we're kicking ourselves that we waited so long. We've received many compliments from neighbors - not only about our yard, but how nice Ken and Emily were! We've done alot of work on our home and Ken and Emily are by far, the best partners we've worked with. If you need to re-do your yard, contact Ken and Emily, you won't be sorry!

Ken and Emily were responsive to our needs. They came quickly and were able to troubleshoot our problem. They also checked our entire sprinkling system and gave us recommendations for our yard. They cleaned the area that they worked in and made it good as new. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Considering changing our gardener to their service. AAA rating!!

It was obvious where the leak was - it was big enough - though due to some crossed wires between the valves and control box, it wasn't clear which valve was the culprit. A little detective work and we had that sorted out. Ken then easily identified and fixed the problem. After the repair, Ken was kind enough to answer some questions about irrigation and care of my landscaping. I feel better equipped to take care of routine things myself and know who I can turn to if I need additional help.

Emily and Ken did a wonderful job! Our gardens look beautiful and a pleasure to enjoy now. They were very easy to work with and communicated frequently in person and via email about the work. They are coming now on a monthly basis for maintenance and to continue some of the work as necessary. We are very happy with the project and recommend them highly.

Ken did a great job installing a replacement irrigation system. Being on a hillside, our landscape area is small but a bit challenging and required replacement of an old system that was pretty much defunct. Ken came out on a Saturday, gave us great recommendations on how to handle the situation and was back with a reasonable quote in a few days. He scheduled the work for the following week and completed everything promptly and efficiently. And on top of everything, he was personable and easy to work with.

Ken and Emily did a complete relandscaping of our property. They made a plan as to what plants would be removed, then removed them, replaced much of the soil, built an irrigation system and installed it, and then filled our yard with the most wonderful plants. We worked with them to figure out what plants would be suitable for our yard, both in aesthetics as well as functionality, and they positioned everything to maximize beauty and plant health. They were very detail oriented. They brought in a fence expert to fix our fences before replacing the soil. The yard was full of way too many decorative rocks, and rather than the easy thing of throwing them out and buying new ones, they cleaned the existing rocks and reused them. The new plants they installed are perfect for us - the new landscape is a dream come true, and I can't wait to see how things look after everything grows in. Ken and Emily were also very friendly and easy to work with. They got along really well with our family. We feel fortunate that they could work with us.

It was a pleasure working with Ken and Emily of Welcome Home Landscape & Lawn Care, and I look forward to using them again soon for landscape design and planting. For this job, I needed a complete overhaul of my very old sprinkler system, and submitted a work request. Ken called promptly after I submitted my work request, and talked me through what was needed. He came out to check out the system that weekend, and we scheduled the work the following week. It turned out to be more work than we originally thought, but when I came home to inspect the completed job, it was all done very well and Ken stuck to the quoted price. The new system works great and will last me many more years. I would definitely highly recommend this company and will likely use them again in the future.
