The Water Heater Company

Beware of this company! Call a real plumber. I called for water heater service and the technician ran a bunch of unrelated tests then took one look at the water heater and claimed to know the issue, which he could not solve because the unit was 2 stories. I called a real plumber who explained that his diagnostic didn’t make any logical sense since the heater had worked perfectly for 7 years and nothing changed. I felt dumb and called the company for a refund explaining my issue. Some guy named Gonzo was extremely rude and lectured me on what the technician did when I was there with him the entire time. He was completely misinformed and the tech had written false details in his report such as stating that he had to relight the pilot. Gonzo kept acting rude and just told me “why he was never going to refund any money”. I was hoping to find a great company in them, but I suggest working with a real plumber.

Needed a new water heater and had this company come out to give estimate. Very professional and thorough and Jeff S was great to work with. He explained everything needed and answered a zillion questions from me. Have accepted their estimate and will have the installation this Wednesday. Working with him and Scotty, who scheduled me and was at the office was superb. Will post again after the work is done.

Could not get a firm price over the phone but agreed to the $ 89.00 minimum charge for them to come out and estimate with the understanding that, worst case, I could apply the $ 89.00 to just the haul away portion of the job. Once the technician wanted over $ 1,000 more than the $ 1,595 "base price" originally discussed to install the new water heater, (which was more than $ 700 more than another company had already quoted me), I said let's just do the haul away of the old one, and the technician said "we are an all-or-nothing-company" and that he would not haul away the old unit if I was not having the new one installed. I said that was not what was told to me on the phone and the technician said they record all their calls and he had "played the tapes" of my calls before he came. A strange claim, but okay, so I said "play the tape again" and he said "I don't need to play it again". If there had really been a tape and a misunderstanding we could have gotten to the bottom of it, but clearly he had no interest in that. I can accept high pressure sales and bait-and-switch tactics as techniques some companies will use to do business, but not drawing a line at dishonesty and abuse tells me this company does not know how to treat people right or do business ethically. I won't call this company again, ever.

GREAT! Justin K. was the assigned technician from the Water Heater Company (WHC). He arrived timely and immediately assessed my leaking 21 year old 75 gallon water heater. He was thoroughly knowledgeable in explaining the issue(s) and the options to resolve. I needed a new water heater. While waiting for a second technician (James I believe) to deliver the 75-gallon water heater, Justin didn’t waste anytime preparing and prepping for the install. Justin was meticulous, conscientious, highly skilled and knowledgeable, extremely professional as was James, a critical thinker in how he was going to proceed, and he and James had great dispositions, very friendly, and pleasant. Justin took time to explain things to James who I learned was in training or just out of training so he would learn how to do things correctly. Needless to say, Justin is an excellent field instructor/on-the-job trainer. Overall, Justin and James provided an excellent experience and represented the Water Heater Company extremely well at the highest level of professionalism!!! I would definitely use the WHC for any future water heater needs! Justin and James are top notch employees!

I initially called another highly rated plumber listed on Angi (in addition to issues with water heater, I had a kitchen sink faucet to install and clogged drain). When the plumber arrived, he looked things over and said they'd get an estimate to me later in the day (they had no intention of performing any work during this visit even though I had asked when making the appointment). A few hours later I received my estimate which included a replacement water heater when no diagnostics had been done on the my unit . . . absolutely none (plumber literally looked at it and that was it). I started looking for another company and came across The Water Heater Company (also had great reviews), but I still reached out to a friend of mine to ask if she had a company to refer (she's won't let anyone pull the wool over her eyes) and she told me she used The Water Heater Company. That was all I needed to hear and immediately called. I spoke with an associate by the name of Billy and he couldn't have been any nicer and was very knowledgeable. Billy took the time to ask specific questions and had me flip breaker switches so that he'd have some basic diagnostics to include in the service call. Kevin was the tech who came out and again, I cannot be complementary enough. He was nice, knowledgeable and explained everything after he did a thorough diagnostic. Long story short, the issue was the power coming into the unit, but he didn't stop there. He investigated the issue further and found there had been a "fire/explosion" of sorts where the wiring was connected to the top of unit. He removed the damaged wiring and reconnected the water heater and it's working beautifully! Kevin gave me a full cost breakdown of a new unit just in case I run into another issue (my unit is about 6 years old). I received email receipt of the repair along with a cost of a new unit if/when the time comes. I am not sure where The Water Heater Company's pricing falls within the range of others, but I'd hire them in a heartbeat because they are thorough and honest . . . . traits that just seem to be hard to find these days. I just wish they were a full service plumbing company!!!

Old Water Heater started leaking on Saturday. Based on great reviews and the fact this company sells quality Bradford White water heaters, I called them Saturday night and got the first appointment slot on Monday. I got multiple text and emails reminding me of the appointment, and I got a text when the technician was on the way. Kevin, the technician showed up on time and did a excellent job evaluating the issues, explaining the options, and answering my questions. We actually learned that the old water pressure regulator in my house completely failed, and the water pressure in the house was crazy high, most likely causing our old 18 year old Bradford White water heater to finally fail. So, we replaced the water heater, regulator, did some code updates, and he even installed an extra shutoff valve at my request. Prices were good, and Kevin found ways for me to save money through discounts and process options. Kevin did a lot of work in a couple of hours and was thoughtful, courteous, and very easy to work with. I would definitely work with this company again and highly recommend.

They were very professional and thorough. Tanner was very clear and patient in explaining all of the options and their costs and benefits, as well as providing exact details to the estimator so that all options were accurately estimated. Highly recommend this outfit!

What a great job! They sent a man out, he assessed everything, explained anything I didn't understand, and set to work replacing my 12+ year old water heater. New valves, fittings, piping, straps, vent system, even the support system under the pan was stabilized! My new water heater is installed to the current codes, and I don't fear it falling through its weird little support box! It took several hours, but still the job was finished in a day. Worth every penny to not have that idea that the water heater was going to fall, die, etc. Military discount made it easier to bear, and I'm glad I chose The Water Heater Company for my work. Such diligence, knowledge, patience, and honesty.

My water heater required some special care, and they knew exactly how to handle this installation. I would definitely use them again!

Anthony gave me some trouble shooting tips over the phone based on the service code I was getting and I got it working without having to pay for a visit. Most companies would have just come out and collected a service fee. Fabulous service!

Our experience with The Water Heater Company was absolutely superb! From the initial contact to the finished installation, the experience was excellent and very, very different from the previous company I used (which was a totally negative experience.) The initial contact with Anthony was met with a very competent understanding of the issue, a clear explanation of the possible alternatives, an honest and reasonable assessment of the costs to resolve the issue, and a super-fast response time. There was no feeling of a high-pressure sales effort and I knew I was dealing (finally!) with a water heater company that was principled and operated from a base of honesty and integrity. I was not to be disappointed; they were all that, and more. As soon as I finished the call and made the appointment, I received a text message and email detailing all the pertinent information regarding the appointment and continued to receive updates keeping me informed of the scheduled appointment (which occurred exactly within the 2 hour window scheduled.) The technician, Ganzo, was, like Anthony, very polite, very respectful, very knowledgeable, very efficient, very service and customer-oriented, and very competent. The entire experience was first-class. In addition, the costs were perfectly fair and quite reasonable. It was apparent that The Water Heater company was interested in having a long-term relationship with us and not just interested in a quick and profitable sale. They left me with a sticker to attach to my water heater with their telephone number which I will use if I ever need service again. They were knowledgeable and professional. They were able to come up with good solutions that are sensible, professional solutions. They have provided some pros and cons in having the tank less water heater and having the regular water heater and they were not too pushy on their pricing, it was like fair pricing. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would need or seek their services.

After 4 days of no hot water, I randomly called this company. The gentleman on the phone answered every question I had and was not pushy. Scotty arrived on time the next day. Gave me my options and also answered my numerous questions. It was not just another job or salesman. I felt at ease and very well educated with my decision. Scotty was professional, very pleasant and patient. The job was neat and he throughly cleaned up. This company is #1 and I would definitely recommend.

Very well. Everything was replaced and the water heater is working. He also re-strapped the water heater because the way it was strapped was not very safe.

Imagine waking up and rushing to get to work. Grabbing for the hot water handle and turning it only to find that instead of getting hot water I am suddenly in hot water because my tank-less water heater is not working. Now what?? I better call The Water Heater Company. I feel very fortunate that we found this company. I had to leave for work without showering while my wife made arrangements to have them come out. Yes, on a Saturday morning very early, they came out the same day. She dealt with Gonzo and Joe directly while I spoke with them by phone. I knew right away I was in professional hands by the way they explained exactly what was wrong and my options to repair or get an upgraded and better model. In fact, when I asked if I could speak to the owner, Mr. Hamilton called me within minutes. Joe did such an amazing job of not only educating me what was going on but also comforting me that they had been in this line of business for well over ten years. I came home from work to find my water heater leaking. I didn’t know what to do so I went online and found The Water Heater Company. They were super nice over the phone so I scheduled a service call. A technician was able to come out to my house within 2 hours and they were quickly able to fix my situation. They were able to fix the leak but I opted for a full replacement because the water heater was already 10 years old. I chose the Premium Package that was a little more expensive because it came with the extended warranty and a thing that will help my water heater last longer. It’s really hard to find a good contractor these days and I’ve heard so many horror stories from my friends. I strongly recommend The Water Heater Company. They were fast, efficient, and most importantly, they were super kind to me.
