This is a second/third generation business. First, Andy (who is the third generation, as it turned out) came to access my chimney project. To start with, he was on time, on the dot. I was really impressed. But his demeanor and ability to communicate with me, was so striking that I'm still, a week later, remember him vividly. This was true salesmanship - he did not push on me anything, was up front, gave me two choices for the cap and explain the difference and, of course, gave me his quote in writing. Second, Tony, his father, (second generation) came to install it. Very professional, very friendly and very generous individual. For a couple of hundred dollars - it is well worth it. Great people, great company, great service. !

Nice family business. Came the next day, cleaned dryer vent and verified that the booster fan on the roof was working. No mess left behind.

This provider seemed good at first, came over right away for quote, scheduled appointment for work within a reasonable time. He was not reliable after the first two days of the project to stone in an existing fireplace, replace sheetrock and reinstall a mantle. Project was started in November as a 2 day project, turned out to be several more days needed. Not completed yet, now mid-January. After first two days, owner told me he wasn't going to come back until northern California got hard rain when he would be unable to work for his clients with outside jobs like stone fences or chimneys. Would not schedule additional work days, unless big storm fore-casted for next day. What kind of professional does that? Will find a professional contractor to finish this job. Maybe United Chimney is good with short, outside jobs, such as cleaning and inspecting a chimney, but think twice about anything else. Am very disappointed.
