This was the second time we have used Cabinet Wholesalers, both projects were similar. We love our new bathroom cabinet and granite counter top. It is really very nice and turned out better than expected. We worked with Brandon who did an excellent job on communicating with us the status of the project. I felt the timetable was very reasonable and completed probably within a week of the original estimate he provided on our purchase. His installers were very professional and arrived on time. We also received calls ahead to alert us they were on their way. Brandon was always easy to get a hold of if we had questions. He also came up with good ideas for the style of cabinet to fit into our space (wall to wall). After a few weeks of it being installed and paid for we noticed a few small items on the granite that needed cleaning from the installation. The granite person came back and cleaned it for us a couple of weeks after we had notified them. I would highly recommend Cabinet Wholesalers use them and use them again for our next project. I also felt their prices were fair.

When we began shopping for new cabinets I was disappointed at the quality of cabinets available. When we visited the Cabinet Wholesalers (CW) showroom and saw the cabinets on display, the experience was entirely different. I knew our search was over. We were so excited finding something that we really liked. We chose to reface with a medium natural wood stain that was displayed in the showroom. The estimate was an easy process. All we had to do was measure the linear foot of our cabinets and count the number of drawers and doors. If we wanted to go to the next step, CW would come out to the house and do a precise measure. Before signing up I checked the reviews on Angie's List. My high from finding the perfect cabinets dropped to a low when I saw the one bad review here. I was so disappointed. We decided to go back in and talk to the President, Eirik. It took some convincing but Eirik reassured us that he stands behind his work and if there is a problem he will correct it. We wanted to reface our cabinets and preserve the granite countertop that we were still happy with. Many companies offer refacing but what makes CW different is the look of their cabinets. I learned why Cabinet Wholesalers' product is unique. The cabinets we chose were made from birch wood. Other companies don't use birch because it is too expensive. However, because of a connection CW has in Chrina where birch is locally grown, they get their materials at a fraction of the cost. That is one reason why you won't see cabinets like theirs at other cabinet companies for the same price. The other reason is the finish. In the US lacquer has been replaced with other finishes that give the wood a plastic look. In China they still use lacquer which provides a smooth, glowing finish like fine furniture. In addition to the type of wood used and the finish, CW offers several free extras. We could have any of their hardware without extra charge, tilt-out drawers, custom utensil dividers, etc. Even their charged add-ons aren't as expensive as one might think. We purchased slide out drawers for our pots and pans and their customized, installed drawers were around the same price or less than the large hardware stores charge. CW assigned Eli to our project. We feel very lucky to have gotten him. He has great attention to detail, takes pride in his work, is an excellent craftsman, and has an eye for design. When we started this project I thought everything was defined and set but I was wrong. Every kitchen is unique and decisions have to be made along the way to customize things specifically to your likes and the challenges that you kitchen layout offers. For instance, we added a valance over our sink. Eli had a solution that the rest of us hadn't thought of and it turned out better than we envisioned. Our original plan was to just have the kitchen modernized. In the end we did the whole house. The kitchen took 6 days to finish and the remainder of the house took another 6 days. Although like any remodeling project it was disruptive, we were extremely happy with the outcome. I couldn't be more ecstatic with the result and am happy to provide such a good review.

I liked them and they were my second choice. I didn't go with them only because I just preferred everything about the other company. There was nothing really wrong with them other than their products are from China whereas the products from the other company are all made here (USA) and that was the big difference. Any problem that I would have (like if I wanted my door fixed), I believe they would have to send it all the way back because they don't have a warehouse here to fix anything so that was the main reason why I did not go with them. The quotes that I had were all comparable. They were very good. I probably would not use them in the future only because of the material but it all depends on what I'm getting done. I just didn't like the fact that they didn't have the warehouse here and they couldn't fix anything.

The work was done well, and I was satisfied with the quality. The workman was punctual and professional. The problem was I had no idea it would take a full 5 days to complete the job. I told Scott I had absolutely no idea what the job entailed. Somehow, the fact that they would only use 1 man, and I would be without a kitchen for 5 days was never revealed to me. I would probably have spent more and had the cabinets replaced instead of refinished, if I had known I would be without a kitchen for a week. I left a message for Scott to call me. Have not heard back. Oh, by the way, this company was on your HONOR ROLL! It is truly unfortunate that placing my trust in Angie's list, and spending well over 20 thousand dollars this past year on miscellaneous projects, I have to have a disappointment like this.

I had a good experience with them. I like the fact that they do the install too, like at other places they just sell the cabinets and then you have go for someone else separately to install the cabinets. Their guys are really good they are perfect. Their customer service, I know no body is perfect but there is something that does not come in right. I used them for a rental, and it turned out beautiful and absolutely gorgeous for a rental. When I saw that I decided to use them for my own home. Everything that they have, the cabinets, is of really good quality compared to what is out there. The first time I used their subcontractor. I used them for everything like granite and the granite turned out gorgeous. They came back to check everything and that is what they do, they have follow-up customer service. They say that you do not pay the last 10% and when we will do the final check and after that final check that is when you pay us. I really like that about them. I used their services last year, and they are installing my cabinets next week. The main thing they did for me was the cabinet. I purchased the cabinets from them and then they did the install. They came out and measured, and put together a design. These were like their stock cabinets that they have available. They delivered, installed and I used them for the granite, and I used the person for installing the appliances. So, really everything was a turnkey. One of the main reasons that I decided to go with them again is that they are people that I can trust, because I am very particular. Trustful people, that was big to me.

Please warn anyone who might think about using them that they are scammers! First of all, they collected the $1,000 deposit on the first day when I signed the contract thinking that they were good guys. The second day they came over to collect $6,000 more and called it 15% of the design and order. They took measurements and told me the cabinets were being ordered from China and would take 10-12 wks. I had already picked out the granite that I wanted and it was the #1 slabs, which were the least expensive, but they insisted on writing up my contract for the #2 slabs saying that when the project was finished they would refund the extra money. When they left my home, they had forgotten to measure and include in the estimate my 2nd bathroom tub area. I called them right away and was told it would cost $1600. Several weeks went by and I got an email saying that the second bathroom tub area for the prefab tub and changing out a light fixture was going to be more than double the amt. quoted, so $3,300 and that I should send them $825 more if I wanted to continue. Right then my guard went up and I started to read the Ca State Licensing Bd. website where it says that contractors cannot take more than $1000 before beginning work. I told these guys that I read that, but they said they were entitled to it and everyone else takes 40% upfront. So then I called the CSLB and was told that they were in violation by taking all of that money upfront and not performing one thing yet. The CSLB told me to file a complaint, which I did, and I tried to reason w/Cabinet Wholesalers and I told them that I wanted my money back and they refuse to return any of it. I also had someone else come do the measurements for my remodel and I found out that Cabinet Wholesalers doubled my measurements on paper so that they could overcharge me. I never received a copy of the supposed design until over a month later when I asked for it, but it wasn't really a design. I asked them to come over and remeasure thinking that they got my measurements mixed up w/someone else's, but they would not. Meanwhile, I looked up their license online and found out that it had been suspended, but they still kept pushing me to begin the job and said they would collect even more money once the tile guy came to my door...before doing any work. Please save yourself from being ripped and don't hire them.

They came to take the measurement in the kitchen. They insisted that we go to their showroom but they never came out. The other reason why we didn't go with them was because we called them for another estimate with some changes and they never got back to us. Their showroom was great. They were nice but follow up was not good. They were professional when we were there. They don't follow up. I would not use them in the future.

So far they have been reasonable but the project is just starting. They have given us an estimate and the project will begin this week. We think it is a very reasonable amount. They are not high pressure. They came out to the house and gave us a design. They are not pushy and we basically know what we are getting. They have been responsive and great to work with. They have laid it out on a computer and showed us how it is going to look. They have assured us that we can get a few extras, like plugs and such, through the process. I feel they have been honest. He told me what he would and would not do within the estimate we have agreed on. I liked the way they handle their deposits, with breaking it down by percentages and I will owe them money at the end so if there are issues it can be negotiated since I will still owe them money at the end. I like that. They called me back right away from the beginning with information and have always shown up on time.
