Handyman Connection- Atlanta

They weren't very good. I had to have them come back and redo it because they did such a poor job. The problem with the fan was that the prior one was bigger and they should have noticed, when they put it up, that that leaves an ugly spot. They were pretty pricey. They did a couple of other things for me and they were all a little high. They also changed light bulbs and this is a 24-foot ceiling. They did that just fine. Basically, they had a really good ladder. They came right when they said they would.

Sorry to say my experience was negative. While I received an immediate email & phone call from Handyman Conn & an appointment was made for an estimate within a few days, it ended there. Estimator never showed. I left a phone message to reschedule and never got a call back.

Poorly. No clear typed proposal was ever provided by Dave. I had to request one and was given a barely legible mixture of materials and labor costs. After Handyman Connection was at my home, subsequent rain revealed a leak in the roof that had not been there previously. I contacted Handyman connection to return and correct the problem and was met with a less-than-professional response. The work was not done well, again. Early this year I paid a roofing company over $4000 to correct the problems created by Handyman Connection's work. One of the problems had to do with roofing paper poorly tacked down and open on one end, allowing rain to enter and causing rotting of the wood. As I am in the process of selling my home, I need a clear accounting of any repairs done on my home. To this end, I emailed Handyman Connection, left messages at the Tucson and national offices, and received no response. Today I drove to the listed address of the Tucson office, 122 S. Olsen. Not only was there no Handyman Connection office, but also there was a realtor's sign announcing office space for rent. I called the realtor and learned that Handyman Connection had moved out one month ago and left no forwarding address. The HC answering machined indicates that they are busy and will call back. I am puzzled as to how Angie's List has a current coupon available from this company. The only positive from this experience is that I have learned that: 1)companies who hire subcontractors end up charging more and taking less responsibility; 2) customers must insist on typed itemized proposals, invoices, and warranties; 3) better to be cautious than trusting, especially if one is a female elder.

They are very good, of course it hasn't rained so we don't know if they fixed our leak or not. They were dependable, they seems like they did a really good job but like I said we don't know if what they did worked because it hadn't rained.

Called and never got a return call. I really wanted a handyman that could do some minor outlet changes and new stems and faucets and a toilet replacement. We need someone we can count on as we are getting older and unable to do many of the things we used to do.

It was very well done. They come when they say they are going to come. They maybe a little pricey but I trust them. I have used them before they became Handyman Connection. So I have got a longstanding relationship with them.

I asked Dave Lintel who works with Handyman Connection to replace a door and every time I call him he says "they sent me the wrong door again" and this has been going on since September. I'm not happy with them at all. They charged me $50 to pick-up the door which was not in the contract. Some of the cabinets will not close right and there are where there's some gaps in the doors.

I needed some work done on my car. I called to make an appointment. When I advised of what was needed to the person that answered the phone. I was informed yes, we can do the work. When I arrived, it was a different story. Not only did I get the run around. I was then informed by the office staff that they could do the work, but they needed a part to order. It was a simple O-ring. They didn't have any in stock for my vehicle. I could wait until it was received, or I could go simply purchase one to have them start the work today. Stated would get the part, and would be right back. When I returned with that part. I was then informed that No, we can do it today, and that would take about 3 hours to perform the work. The mechanic had just mentioned less then an hour to do the work. I then advised the staff, "What was the purpose of my going to get the O-ring if you didn't have the parts to perform the work"? I said, nevermind. How long to have it done, the after being informed 2-3 days. I walked out never to return. I would never recommend this location to anyone.

Called him up and made appointment for a couple of days later. He arrived on time and reviewed what I wanted, we agreed on scope of work and the job was completed in less than an hour. Individual was polite and professional, would definitely use again.

I've used them twice - very happy with results both times. Odd jobs pile up and they come out and fix several things in one visit.

All work was done as specified in the estimate. No Surprises! The three lights were hung exactly as I wanted them to be done. All work was completed in two days. The second day was when the drywall was repaired. I was pleased that the textured wall was matched almost exactly. No one but me can see the location of the repair.

The company was very hard to contact. Every call went to voice mail- some messages were responded to but often messages were never responded to. I needed to call multiple times to get them to come out for an estimate and then again many times to schedule the service. The workers were very polite and professional. The work took 1 day longer than estimated but the workmanship was good on average. They went to a lot of trouble to get us the correct color and delt with some unexpected termite damage very well. I find the work is not standing up well, however. The worst part was the pricing. The estimate only includes labor- they charge extra for materials. I was aware of this based on other Angie's reviews so I asked for an estimate on materials up front. At the end of the service they charged me double the materials estimate, added a 4.615% tax, and then added a previously undisclosed fee for each trip to the store. They went to the store twice and charged $50 per trip. They then asked for a check instead of a charge card since the job took them 1 day more than they estimated. The entire bill was $364 more than quoted. Overall, the individual workers were good but the administrative processes and prices are unacceptable. I do not recommend this company.

They were good. If I remember right, they were a little pricey, but we had no issues with them. They were very responsive and professional. The experience was good.

The project was completed on time. Read the estimate and ask for the "real" total cost including labor.

The young men they sent out was good, and he did a fine job. They were here exactly when they promised they would be.

We found Handyman connection on Angie's list, called them and arranged for an estimate which was completed in several days. The work was performed several days later (with the exception of the new door sweeps which were out of stock at the supplier). Shawn did an outstanding job. He is knowledgeable and professional and was able to adapt to unforeseen developments. Will definitely use them again.

I absolutely could not be more pleased! Brian is a skilled craftsman and a consumate professional. The day he came to do the inspection and provide an estimate, he listened carefully to what I was requesting, made positive recommendations for renovation of the deck, and provided an accurate estimate on-the-spot. He said the cost of the materials would be around $300, the total came to $275. To me, that's a man that knows his business, to be that accurate without actually pricing the supplies needed. He was on time every day and worked diligently, and always cleaned up the work area before leaving for the day. The deck is actually more attractive and definitely more structurally sound than when it was built 10 years ago. I will definitely be calling the Handyman Connection, and asking for Brian, for any future repairs/home improvements.

They came and gave me an estimate. They did a lousy job of writing up the estimate.

Nothing to tell. The workman's response was totally unsatisfactory. Case closed.

The pipes under kitchen sink were dripping badly. This was something that had built up over time, and not something my husband and I could fix on our own. We went to Lowe's and bought a replacement faucet. Since we were going to have to have a plumber fix the leaking pipes, we thought we may as well get the old kitchen faucet replaced at the same time. Bought faucets for the two bathroom sinks as well. Called Handyman Connection because one of their servicemen had replaced a ceiling fan for us at another time and we had been happy with the job. Based on that experience, I did not contact other plumbers.Their plumber arrived in a timely fashion and was a nice guy. He quoted me the $375 labor cost for fixing the leaking kitchen plumbing and replacing all three faucets. I really can't comment on the fairness of that quote, since I hadn't gotten a quote from another company. I can say that the quote seemed okay, based on small plumbing jobs I had had done previously. While doing the job, the Handyman service guy discovered that the downstairs bathroom sink pipe was about to give out. I believe this was true--the pipes were very old. The serviceman did not charge more $ to do that, other than parts cost. Pulling out the old pipe needed to be done anyway as part of replacing the faucet. But I'm very grateful he let us know about the situation. Overall, my husband and I were very pleased with the quality of the work. However, what we were definitely not pleased with was the fact that the serviceman had a bumper sticker that said, "f...k (a particular politician). To have a bumper sticker with wording like that on a serviceman's truck was incredibly unprofessional. In addition to being offensive to us, we were embarrassed to have the truck outside our house with such a crude bumper sticker. Additionally, the serviceman had his radio on while doing the plumbing job. The radio volume was loud, and the serviceman was making loud and angry political comments throughout his time at our house. My husband and I were very unhappy and disturbed by that behavior. In our opinion, behavior like that has no place in a service person's role--regardless of their political views. Honestly, my husband and I will probably not call on Handyman Connection again, regardless of the quality of their work. This is too bad, since my husband and I were both happy with the work itself. I hope the folks at Handyman Connection see this comment.

They were very prompt when I called. They were here the next day and were here for a day and a half. They were very nice and worked steady. Just about everything that had water in this house leaked inside and out. They repaired 5 outside fossettes, 3 inside sinks, a bath and 2 toilets. It is a very old house and that is always a problem because things don't always fit. They worked straight through and got everything done. I was very pleased. I thought with the time they spent on everything that the rate was very reasonable.

They are very nice. The price is competitive and I am happy with my experience.
