They came quickly to cut out damaged walls and ceiling and bring in blowers. Equipment was removed in a timely manner. The only time I saw them after that was to have the insurance check signed. John kept telling me that he had submitted for mold(wich was minimal at best).I checked with insurance several times, nothing was submitted. He rarely returned calls and when he did he lied. He also cut out part of the wall in my adjoining laundry room for no apparent reason other than to get more money. This started on April 14th. On July 21st I informed him that I was done with him. He called my insurance the next day to submit for mold.
Response from Brewer Restoration Enterprises, Inc.
"Hi [Member Name Removed], I am sorry to hear that your experience with our company was less than desirable. Emergency mitigation and mold services can take quite some time to complete depending on the adjusters response time. I did look through the notes and your adjuster took 26 days to respond. This is fairly typical (especially with employee shortages) in the insurance sector. I can tell you that everything done to perform our services was justified and approved by your insurance company. All of the water mitigation and mold remediation was complete. We do take it upon ourselves to work with adjusters so that our customers do not have to. It is a lengthy process and generally not a pleasant one."

They came with fans and dried the area quickly. But they were very slow to return and repair the walls and flooring, and move the furniture back into the rooms. They didn't come unless nagged by telephone. Usually it took several calls before they'd show up. They're still not finished after more than nine weeks.

Moving into a new house is stressful enough and only gets worse when you move in  with a leak in the wall.  I contacted several companies that dreadful Saturday and John Brewer not only answered the phone himself, as opposed to an answering service, he was at my home within 30 minutes, gave a fair estimate and returned 30 minutes later with the equipment needed to start the water remediation process.  While other companies wanted to start with the removal of large sections of drywall, to later add to the repair bill, John took a very systematic approach and only removed what was needed.  John showed up on-time every day to check moisture and humidity levels and the final repairs were perfect.

I would highly recommend John and his team at Brewer Restoration.

Brewer was polite and personable. He's a good salesman. I assume that the mold remediation went well. The roof repair took SIGNIFICANTLY less time that we were told it would (I'm not sure what the issue was that we were quoted $1100 for a 6 hour job that actually took two hours). My biggest issue is that the roofers, when they came, appeared to stomp around on my entire roof. I live in Arizona and have a tile roof. This is not good. I'm pretty sure it's a good way to ensure repeat business, but I'm having another contractor out to assess the damage and ensure they didn't break any more tiles. Unfortunately, his mold remediation quote (which again was for quite a small space) did not include ANY quotes on repairs. Yes: Be prepared, he will quote you an entire quote that involves only DEMOLISHING your home, not putting anything back.
After my husband repeatedly attempted to get a solid figure out of him (this is 2-3 days after the full tear out), he hedges that it should be between $300-500 dollars. Well, come the day furniture is set to be delivered, and he tells my husband that it would be $2K. THEN, after I got three other contractors out, who all gave quotes under $1100, he tells me "well, if it's under $1,000 I suggest you go with them" after he had just told me that he would "reevaluate his quote" If I got more quotes. Bottom line: I've never dealt with a mold remediation company before, I hesitate to say that he's a crook, but he's definitely not dealing from the top of the deck. He's nice and polite, but definitely not the best value for your money and, in my opinion, pulls a bit of a bait and switch on unsuspecting consumers, NOT the reputation that I would think a company would want to have, but apparently it works for them...
I will update once the new roofers come out and inspect the back of my roof where his roofers were stomping around. If there is any damage (my roof has been inspected within the past year), this review goes to an F.

UPDATE: The roofing contractors found only minor broken tiles, which appeared to have been broken quite a while ago. I ended up getting another contractor in to complete the room (putting it back together) for $1000 less than he quoted and I am happy with the room.

Overall, I would probably use him for mold remediation again...maybe. I'm not sure I'm willing to put myself through the agony of not knowing what it's going to cost -until there is no going back- again.
