Description of Work: Moldex owner answered questions and alleviated concerns over the phone. He asked questions to understand the situation and provided me with lots of useful information (including that I didn't need to pay someone to handle the situation). He seemed to have our best interests in mind. I will absolutely give him a call if remediation services are needed in the future.

Description of Work: Daryl did extensive mold remediation and reparation for water damage in the master bedroom dressing room and its closets, and in both bathrooms in my townhouse. His work included replacing both vanities, drywall work, painting both bathrooms, and installing new toilets. He also did some work in my garage and in the ceiling of my living room. He is far more knowledgeable about mold than any other person I interviewed for the job. It was easy to contact him throughout the process when I had questions. He was very thorough in his work and the house looked great when he was done!

Description of Work: I have nothing but positive things to share in regards to Daryl with MOLDEX. He is so knowledgeable, conscientious & detail-oriented in his field of mold remediation. Our insurance was pushing for us to use one of the known name companies they are contracted with, but I was not convinced. I had read about Daryl on Angie's List & after meeting with him decided he was the person for the job. We are SO GLAD we made the choice to hire Daryl. I kept telling my husband that the room still smelled bad even after the dry out with the company my insurance sent. Thank goodness we hired Daryl! He pulled the shower & found wet insulation that the other company had left in the wall behind the shower. The other company kept saying they needed to pull the tub & would not have pulled the shower. We would have paid for remediation & the rebuild & still had mold growing if we had contracted with the other company!! We are so pleased with MOLDEX. Description of Work: Awesome experience with the this vendor. They did a comprehensive assessment of the mold damage, located the likely source and even provided information on the type of mold. Fortunately for us, the mold was not dangerous and could be re-mediated inexpensively. I also appreciated the honesty of the owner and the connections he could provide to skilled tradesmen.

As we were clearing out the room that would be our 2nd baby's nursery, we noticed dampness in the carpet where we had used plastic floor protectors under our desks. Those areas smelled of mildew. Because a newborn would be sleeping there, we contacted Moldex for their opinion about what we should do. Daryl spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining our options; b/c of the new baby factor, he suggested we have a mold inspection done so we would know exactly what we were dealing with. He came over within 2 days, tested the carpet and also took air quality samples to see if any mold might have dispersed beyond the bedroom. He also offered to do a mold inspection of our entire home without additional charge. Before leaving, he explained that the samples were tested at an independent lab facility, not by him or an employee of Moldex, which I appreciated. Two days later, we had the results-some mold in the carpet but not in the air system. The quantity of mold was small enough that Daryl recommended a good steam cleaning with an antimicrobial cleaner (rather than replacing the entire carpet).
Description of Work: Moldex tested the carpeting in one bedroom and took air samples in my home to determine if we had a mold issue. We received a report within two days along with Daryl's recommendation for how to solve our issue.

We had a contract to sell our home, and the buyer's inspector put in his report that, since he saw evidence of prior moisture (we had had a roof leak, which we had disclosed and which was fixed), there might be mold. That caused the buyers to cancel the contract. We had never seen any evidence of mold and wanted to be sure. I spoke to Daryl on the phone and he was very surprised that a home inspector would put something like that in an inspection report. He sent an inspector out the next day and we had a report (no mold) within 2 days. Moldex was prompt and very professional. Daryl quoted the price over the phone.
