I found them because they were on top of Angie’s list. I’ve been using them for the last year or so. They are ethical and very responsive. The previous person that I had would come out and check my central air and heat once in the fall and once in the spring. I have a guest house with the central air unit and he told me that it needed to be replaced. I asked him if the compressor would cost me $5000 and he said that it would cost me $10000. I was shocked. He told me that he would need to change the heat too if he changed the central air. I thought to myself that this wasn’t something that I don’t know about. So I told him that we’re in September and the heat is almost over. I told him to just wait and see. He then told me that he would put free on air but it would leak. So I decided to start looking for a new air conditioning company. I also had another problem in the previous months with another unit. He would negotiate the price and it looked like he didn’t want to do it. I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman. So I found L J Refrigeration Co Inc on Angie’s list and they came out. They first came out in the last fall to do the heat and then they came out this spring. I was fully expecting to put a new compressor in the guest house. The guy from L J Refrigeration Co Inc came out and his name was Paul. He put some new free on air in and it seemed to be working right. He said to wait and see what happens. He said that if it starts leaking, then we’re going to need a new compressor. He said that he’s got something that he could put in the line to stop leaking and that’s what they put in automobile radiators. That will stop the leaking but that would cost about $350. That’s a lot cheaper than a compressor. So he told me to try that and then he did that for me. The air conditioner that was supposed to be replaced is still running fine. They are an excellent company. I highly recommend them. I will use their services again in the future.

My husband couldn't get the filter changed because something was blocking it. L J put a new one in the hallway and now all we have to do is loosen the clips and it comes right down, very easy to fix. They were on time and professional.

So it's 4 p.m.; we are leaving town tomorrow. One of my air conditioning units is out. I called several companies who said they couldn't come until the next day - understandably. I called LJ Refrigeration and they were here within 40 minutes. Jeff diagnosed the problem within a couple of minutes; he had a new motor in the truck and he worked outside in the 105 degree sun for an hour and replaced the motor. He also checked the filters. I am so relieved and can now have a stress free vacation! Great company, great technician; I will definitely use them again.

I've used these folks for A/C maintenance for several [6-7?] years, during which time I've never had an A/C system problem, despite the relentless AZ heat and my aging [13 years] system. They've always been responsive and flexible in scheduling appointments and routinely arrive as scheduled. Paul, the tech, is a very pleasant young man, explains what he's doing and is always willing to answer my questions -- a few of which have been only loosely related to A/C maintenance. I've learned to respect his opinions. Pricing for this service call was unchanged from that of March 2010, and only slightly above 2008/2009 levels -- they're obviously very competitive/reasonable. Payment by credit card is acceptable. L J Refrigeration is top-notch -- of the half-dozen or so local companies I use for recurring major equipment/system maintenance around my house, they're at the top of the heap in terms of quality work, reasonable pricing and maintaining my confidence in their competence. Plus they're just a pleasure to do business with!

They were great. He came within the planned time span. They added the much needed FRC-1,balanced the thermostat etc. They answered all my questions.

LJ is excellent ... very service oriented...very responsive ..will assess what you need over the phoneand schedule a tech visit promptly. Tech is very punctual and extre,mely professional including calling ahead to let you know when he is 20-30 minutes away. Very competent to handle any problem that has come up and provide good advice on continued operation and maintenance. I would trust them to provide high quality work at a fair price.

The technician arrived on time, was neat and polite. He lubricated the belts and added freon. The bill was exactly what I expected.

This is the fourth time, I have used L.J., and I continue to be pleased with the high quality of work. Heat pump, which is the original on the house built in 1984, needed some freon. Evap needed a new belt. I have never been hassled about replacing the heat pump. Tech continues to say it is in good shape and should last a bit longer. My feeling is if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Even with the heat pump going during the monsoon season and during the winter, my electric bills average slightly less than $120 over the course of the year.

Finaly gave up. Called Robert Brazilfor service on February 7. They replaced thermastat and cleaned coils. Unit now operating at 74 degrees.

Unlike earlier provider, did not try to sell new air conditioner with scare tactics. Appeared straightforward.

From the first contact through the repair, this company treated us with repect and professionalism. We are repeat customers and recommend this company highly!

Had technician return in March to perform replacement. AC continues to work like a champ.

Technician inspected the evap and realigned and tightened pulleys. He said calcium was building up in pads. I had no idea of how long pads had been in use, but it was at least 5 years so I had technician replace pads. Cooler now works like a champ.

Scheduling: - Super, super flexible in working with the schedule and work of another contractor whose job needed to be complete before complete installation of the air conditioning system, which required multiple visits to the property. Professionalism: - Jeff showed up on time, worked very hard, and was very knowledgeable and friendly. - He was also helpful in pointing out some of the paperwork needed for submitting tax credits for the high-efficiency HVAC system. He stated its 15.5 SEER as the air handler is a high efficiency component (added a ? SEER rating) Job Quality: - Jeff and his crew worked fast and deliberately: they really seemed to know what they were doing. - Sturdy-looking system and it runs like a champ! - Note: they seem to like the Carrier brand. Jeff mentioned that it is easy to replace Carrier components that they have in stock, and on hand; whereas other brands may need to have parts ordered from the factory?causing delays (which might be significant if your air conditioning quits in the middle of the summer: something to ask your installer/company about) - It looked like quite a bit of work, and on some very hot AZ days! Price: - The quote for the job ran about the middle of other quotes for what sounded like similar work, but due to the high marks on service, I went with them and not the lower bidder. Glad I did! Also, the re-attachment of the home?s second air conditioning system?s air handler was an unplanned task from the other contractor, so that was a late addition to the bid (and extra work that Jeff took in stride on a long day). Overall: - Very nice, skillful, and hard-working crews, great scheduling flexibility, competitive price, great service. Highly recommended!

The serviceman was punctual and efficiently checked the units. He provided information and guidance when requested. The price was very good compared to other estimates. First unit was $78 and the 2nd and 3rd units were $30 each.

Prompt and courteous same-day service.

It went great. Service man arrived about 90 minutes after I called. Performed the repairs in about an hour or less. Very professional.

Overall, a very good experience other than the service date mix-up.

It is a very welcome change and a relief to know I have somebody to call that I can trust. When our air conditioner began leaking water onto the garage floor I called two different companies to look at it. The first company tried to take advantage of my lack of understanding of air conditioners by lying to me about what was wrong and quoting me a ridiculous price. I felt this was suspicious so I found LJ Refrigeration on Angie's List and they were able to come out that same morning. The LJ Refrigeration service man explained to me what was really wrong, fixed it right then and charged me a fair price. WOW a breath of fresh air and honestly. It was easy to tell who to trust and who to call next time.

Things went excellently! I called the number on Angie's list and a person answered, not a voice mail - which was great!!. I explained the problem and they sent a technician right over. No problems.

I came home from work on a 115 degree day and realized that the A/C had stopped working. LJ Refrigeration was able to send a repairman within 3 hours. The condenser motor had burned out, which he was able to replace in a few minutes. Being a Friday evening before a holiday weekend, I had to pay an overtime service charge. The repairman and the dispatcher were very friendly and responsive. If I have heating or A/C problems in the future, I will call LJ Refrigeration first.

The visit was absolutely consistent with the straight A Rating that LJ Refrigeration Company Inc. has earned on Angie's List. Absolutely excellent from start to finish. They had four guys doing the job, on a Saturday, and completed all the work within 8 hours. I was very impressed. They had to remove some trim from the ceiling to get the old furnace out and new furnace in, and they replaced everything so that you couldn't tell it was disturbed. I would highly recommend this company. Jeff was very easy to work with and very professional, too. He searched the different manufacturers for the best available deal, so I got a 10-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime compressor.

Arrived on time. Went over our HVAC unit very thoroughly and added freon to unit. Price for added freon very reasonable. I asked if the tech. could get me some information about our air handler that the installer had neglected to leave with us. I received the requested info. in the mail. Excellent service, very knowledgeable. Highly recomment.
