Description of Work: This is the best service that I have ever had for television repair. It was warranty work on a Panasonic 50" Plasma TV, they came from Scottsdale to Surprise. they had to take my TV to the shop for repair, they brought me a "loaner" TV without requesting one.

Bob gave me a two hour window (10 to 12) for his tech to arrive. The tech came at 10:10 and was done by 10:30. He was experienced (had performed the same repair on dozens of TVs) and knowledgeable. He even advised me about a class action lawsuit against Samsung for the problem and advised me to call about it for possible reimbursement. The cost was a bit high, but MUCH cheaper than buying a new TV.
Description of Work: Checked and replaced faulty capacitors in Samsung flat screen TV.

Thanks for the review. I'm sorry the cost was not ideal. I thought I read the technician informed you how to get reimbursed from Samsung. The reimbursement limit on the capacitor settlement was $250 so you should have got a full bill reimbursement. We appreciate your business.

Responsive - repaired my 46and quot; Samsung with 24 hours of my call for service. The tech came on time (out to the Buckeye area), courteous, and described what was wrong and how they repaired the problem. The tech even gave me a pointer on how to save on my cable bill! He was friendly and very fast. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Replaced power supply. Used an upgraded part so the problem won't happen again.

Nothing further to add than the above. End result was very good.
Description of Work: TV light replacement; fan, and color wheel. The end result was excellent. However, there was a break-down in communication when I tried to set up service. I was talking to two different people and they apparently didn't talk to each other and they gave me different info that caused the repair to take three weeks to occur due to which parts to order and time to set up the service date. I don't remember the cost was it was not bad.

I called Bobs TV Service and told them my issue of my TV going out. He made me an appointment at a time that was convienent for me and,quoted me the amount to fix the problem. The Technician was at my home exactly when they scheduled, he was very polite and knowledgable, fixed the TV in 2 minutes (yes, I watched the clock)!! Was excellent!!! He charged me what he quoted over the phone and was out of my home in 5 minutes and my TV was fixed! Would definetely recommend and use them again.

Called Bob and was pleased that Sun Lakes was in their service area. Bob's grandson, Steve, came for the repair, was able to diagnose the problem quickly, quoted a price and had the tv working within 30 minutes. Overall, a good experience as we called on a Friday afternoon and they were here on Tuesday morning ... With the needed parts.
Description of Work: Service call to Sun Lakes. Replaced capacitors on 46-inch Phillips plasma television. They charge $100.00 for the service call, but deduct that from any repairs.

They were awesome, friendly guys. It's a family run business, father and son perhaps, or grandfather and grandson I am not sure on that one.
Description of Work: I used Bob's TV Service about a month ago. It was a typical problem with Samsung 46-inch, it turned on and off repetitively, and you couldn't stop. They fixed it in home.

It went great. Jesse was here on Tuesday and did the initial testing. He ended up having to take the guts to the shop, but was back at our house on Thursday to put everything back together. He is very knowledgeable and set everything up better than it was before. We are very glad they could fix it as we really did not want to have to get another tv.
Description of Work: We have a Mitsubishi 55' HDTV that is a projection tv. We had the green blinking light of death. Jesse came in and did initial test and ended up taking the guts to the shop. In the end there was a board replaced and also the capcitors.

My 5-year-old Sony would not turn on anymore on a regular basis, so I called Bob's TV. Their tech Steve stopped by, took a look, said he couldn't detect the problem and would need to take it into the shop, which he did. A week went by with no contact from Bob's, so I called them and spoke with Bob. He said the TV had worked fine in the shop for a couple of days before they had noticed a problem, and they had ordered a power supply from Sony, which they expected to have within a few days. After 4-5 more days, Bob called to say they'd put in a new power supply, but it hadn't fixed the problem. He said it was likely a failed LCD panel, which would cost more to fix than the TV was worth. So I asked him to have his tech return the TV to the house, which Steve did a few days later. The experience cost me $85, which I consider a fair price. I may have another shop give me a second opinion before I junk the TV, but I'd have no problem using Bob's again. I haven't given real high marks only because it seemed Bob's shop didn't do a very good job of keeping me in the loop regarding the TV's status, and I'm sort of bummed that my relatively new TV crapped out so soon (which isn't Bob's fault). All in all, a decent experience, I feel.
Description of Work: Bob's tech picked up my TV and took it into their shop for evaluation and repair. They found repair costs to be more than the TV was worth, so I asked them to return it to my house, which they did.

TV picture just went out with no warning still had sound. Sony 42 inch Bravia. Extended warranty had just expired a few months ago called Best Buy to have Geek Squad come out. They sent us to a third party repair service, the soonest was 9 days. After waiting for two days with no tv in bedroom I signed up to Angie's list. To Find Bobs TV Services I called them around 10:30am on Friday they came to the house approx. 12:30 picked up the TV. They called approx 2:45 said TV was fixed and they were on the way back with it. Are you kidding me! This was the most unbelievable service I have ever experienced in my life. I will be recommending them to every one I know.
Description of Work: Picture went out but still had sound. I tried everything with the owners manual and online. I called Bobs they said they could send someone out. The tech. came to the house checked the tv out and called the shop to confirm the problem. Something to do with circuit board needed to be replaced gave estimate of $350 - $400. Bob or Rob called back to inform me that it would be $256 minus the $85 I had already gave the tech. so I only owed another $171. Start to finish I had my TV picked up fixed returned all set back the way it was in approx. 3 hours!

The technician - STEVE -came out on time but was rude - talking loud, and fast told me that it was the video board and he would have to take it in. He was disrespectful. He called me the same day (as promised) to say that the board was bad and that it would cost $ 350.00 to replace it, Based on the age of the TV and the cost of new TVs I decided not to have the work done and buy a new TV, I asked him to return the TV which he did the next day. He came to the door with the 47and quot; TV in hand marched through the house and slammed the TV back on the stand not asking if that was where I wanted it and refusing help from the people in the room. An electrical engineer visiting me at the time tried to get some technical information about the troubleshooting process only to be told by STEVE that there was no test performed that he just and quot;knewand quot; and that and quot; I have been doing this for 10 yearsand quot;. We asked him to call us back with a part number for the bad board which he did but we were unable definite on the manufacturers web site. My experience was completely opposite from the written reviews,
Description of Work: My 3 1/2 year old LCD TV stopped working, no audio, no video, and no response to the on / off button. The service call was $95.00 which would be deducted from the repair job if performed.

This is a family owned business. Bob is the grandfather of the service person who performed my service this morning. My TV was completely dead and they replaced the lamp. I called them on Wednesday and they came out on Thursday morning.

The service at Bob's was exactly what I hoped for. The tech took my TV in and told me it would probabaly be fixed that same day. Sure enough, they replaced 8 capacitors and had my TV ready for me before I left for work that same day. The tech told me that he had my TV running for a few hours at the shop- just in case there were any lingering issues. Definitely a good idea for the benefit of the customer (me). I got my TV home and it's working just like the day it was new.
Description of Work: I was concerned when my Vizio plasma TV started making random popping noises. Then, I was very sad when my plasma TV stopped turning on when the power button was pressed. I called the manufacturer to investigate and they informed me that I was out of warranty and basically said "too bad". The manufactuerer wouldn't even give me an idea of what they thought the problem was. So, I turned to the internet. After investigating the probable cause and the possible solution, I decided to check Angieslist for reputable TV technicians. That's where I found Bob's TV Service. After I told Bob's what I thought the cause was, they told me they would take a look at the TV and determine if there were any other things that might need attention. Bob's TV service replaced 8 blown capacitors and had my TV ready for pick-up same day.

I called Bob's Tv service and told them the problem I was having and I was told that most likely the issue was the lamp had gone out. I was given the option of replacing it myself and coming by and picking up the bulb and they would explain to me me how to replace it or I could have them come out and do it. I opted to have them do the service and they came out the next day to do the service. They were professional, I would use them again and am also happy recommend them to others.

My TV went dark. After reading reports on the TV brand website I knew that I probably needed a new lamp. When I called Bob's, they asked a good group of questions in order to plan for the service call. The serviceman was prompt and professional. He assessed the problem, gave me an estimate of the cost and upon my approval, continued with the work. He managed the size of my TV carefully. He thoroughly cleaned up his work area before leaving. My TV worked just fine after the service call.

I called Bob's TV Repair when my TV stopped working. They did an in home visit first and when it could not be repaired they took it to the shop. They applied the fee for the service call to the repair and I had it back the next day. TV works great--42" LCD. Great service. Highly recommend.

I called and described to Rob, who answered the phone, that my TV played audio but not picture when I turned it on. Because of my health challenges, I asked if they pick up and deliver. He said "yes, for $95 that would be applied to the cost of repairs." He went on to sat that there were two people in the area that could come out in a couple hours. Bob (himself) and a helper came and Bob was quite knowledgeable, quickly determining what appeared to be wrong with the set, saying there could be more issues. He gave me a range for the repair costs. For a variety of reasons I decided not to go forward with the repair: he told me that probably for just $100 or so more than the cost of repairs, I could get a new TV; I am physically challenged with limited breath, energy and strength; I am profoundly overwhelmed with an out-of-state move happening at the end of this month. When I asked if I owed him anything, he said "yes, $65." I said that seemed pretty steep for a 5 minute stop - because he was in the area anyway. He dropped the fee to $45 which still seemed steep to me. When I said I was disappointed in that, he mumbled something, took the check and walked out the door without even a "thank you."

The service call at the time you scheduled it was $95. You paid $45. So the fact that Bob have been doing this for a very long time and diagnosed it quickly and dropped the bill for you less then 50% is a D? You knew that the service call is $95 correct? And you scheduled it at that price? And you paid less then half of the agreed price? Im not understanding the price grade, I try to use grades lower then an A as teaching moments for the staff. Im not sure how to use this information to improve. Sorry you were not 100% satisfied.

Job 1: We first called the manufacturer for a recommended repair service. The service that they recommended gave us an estimate of $1170.00 (after charging us $125.00 for the estimate) to replace a part that they thought was bad. That's when we went to Angie's List and found Bob's TV Repair. After his repair the TV is working great. The part that the other company was trying to sell us was not even the problem. We would recommend Bob's TV Repair to anyone looking for quick reliable service. Job 2: I was completely satisfied with the work they performed. First, they diagnosed the problem and got to the conclusion that the apparatus had a malfunction on an inner with which name I don't recall. They fixed it by replacing the malfunctioning piece. Now the TV works perfectly and I had no problem with it since the repair. That is why I am very satisfied with what this company did and is also why I recommend them with really good ratings.
Description of Work: Job 1: Company did a temporary cleaning of the fans until new ones came in. They came back and installed the 4 new fans in the TV. All repairs were done in my home. There were 2 different technicians and they were both very courteous and knew what they were doing.($400.) Job 2: They repaired my Sony Television which had starting having problems. The problem seemed to be located on the start switch device. This company repaired it successfully.($125.)

The company is efficient and professional. Although they charge a $125 fee to come to the house it is credited toward the ultimate bill. They appeared at my home within the designated time and returned the set during the designated time period. Only problem I had was when I discussed the problem with the set with the shop (I think it was Bob) he diagnosed a problem that would cost $450 to fix. Although the real problem with the set was something different the cost was still $450. This left me to believe that just about any repair would, in fact, cost a minimum of $450. Other than that, they were punctual, professional, and the picture on the set is better than when I first purchased the unit.

When I called the office and explained my problem, we made an appointment for them to come out. On arrival they asked me what the problem was and proceeded to tell me (without looking inside the TV) that the problem was in the board (and after calling the office), and said to repair it would cost approximately $250 plus labor. My complaint was they could have told me this over the phone and saved me the cost of the service call that apparently was not necessary. I asked them (since I was paying for it any way) to complete a connection so that my DVD would work (took 2 minutes), but didn't check it and it as wrong.

Talked to Bob, himself. He was very nice on the phone and as a result of his advice we decided not to repair, but to replace. Our experience was very good!
