Bim's Lawn & Landscaping Service

We employed Bim's for several years to perform routine yard maintenance. While initially pleased with the work, over time the quality of the work deteriorated dramatically. We also felt the price of the work was quite high - the state of our yard currently certainly did not justify those fees. Upon returning from our summer vacation, we found our entire lawn had died because our sprinklers had been shut off.

It went well. I received email when to expect them, as they were booked out 2 weeks (busy time of year). I got the message and they showed up on time the next morning.All work was performed as they described and I go the AL discount. I thought the debris blowing / removal was inadequate an they missed a few places. The came back and redid All looks fine. I'm glad I found them. Also, was not pressured into a contract to come every week/ month/etc. They will comewhen Ineed cleanup.

I thought all was going to go great. As usual I tried to make appointments with 3 contractors off of Angie's list so that I could compare estimates. I then received about the usual results, one contractor never called back, one contractor made an appointment then never showed up or called to reschedule. Bim's on the other hand called right back, when I told him of my odd hours he said he could do the estimate without me being there and would email it to me. And he did, quickly. I called and spoke with him about the trouble I had with the last person to do the work, that I had many of the watering nozzles broken and lines cut, would he check them when complete as well as make sure everything was timed correctly. I expected to pay more if necessary as that was not in the original estimate. He said he would, sometimes that happens but he would take care of it. We scheduled the work to be done in about two weeks, he would accommodate my schedule, be there early to remove the tree so I didn't have to keep my dogs in the garage all day. And he showed up, on time, as agreed. When he arrived he took a personal interest, we walked the yard, I pointed out three bushes in the west that had grown on their own I wanted cut off at the ground, we discussed the other pruning. All seemed to go great, the tree was removed quickly so the dogs could go back out and they worked on the rest. It came time for me to go to work, I went out to discuss payment since they were not yet done and the person who seemed to be in charge said I could leave a check later or they would send me a bill, I thought great, all is well. However when I got home that night the first thing I noticed was that a barrel cactus that had fallen over several weeks earlier, that I assumed they would remove, was still there. In fairness, I did not specifically tell them to remove it, I just figured since it was on the ground they would. Second, I had a large mature bush on the east of the carport that alway gets, and had, white flowers all over it. It was cut off at the ground. I was really confused since it was neither in the same area or looked the same as the bushes I identified in the west to be removed. I emailed Bim, he was very apologetic, said his crew said I told them to remove the bush and didn't know why the cactus was still there but he would take care of it. There was nothing anyone could do about the bush (gone is gone), I left him a check and when I got home I saw that he had replanted the cactus. I was feeling pretty good about the whole thing again, the bush might come back. Then I got up the next morning, water everywhere in the front yard, I manually turned on the system and not 10 feet from the control box was the first broken drip line spraying everywhere. As I fixed that one I kept walking around I found 8 other lines that were broken or that the heads had been tore off. I spent the rest of the morning, and part of today checking and repairing. So, it would be my impression that Bim is very diligent and cares about his work, but his crew and follow up, not so much.

We receive regular weekly pool service and occasional repairs as needed. Josh has been awesome. Always shows up, even on crazy weather days and does excellent work. Honest, and pleasurable to work with.

They came in the 1st time and went right to work, getting the back yard ready for seeding and cleaning up the pine needles. My wife has a ceramic frog in the back yard that had 3 of the toes broken off and while they raked all the pine needles, they were careful enough to see that and put the broken toes on the side so we can fix it later on. They also did a great job on the front lawn. They told my wife she should get a sprinkler to get an area that is not growing grass as good and give it extra water. They will be back next week and we are very happy with them. They return phone calls even after hours. So much better than the previous landscaper.

Broke the same sprinkler head on four separate occasions. After the second time we informed the owner, he was very responsive and was apologetic. Offered to have our sprinkler heads (at a cost) lowered so the mower wouldn't damage them. However this is not the issue, the sprinkler heads are properly set at the correct height and the one in question is in a corner of the yard and was being ran over by the mower wheel. Additionally he stated that they crew tests the irrigation system after each service but obviously they don't, or they would have noticed the fountain that existed instead of a sprinkler. Tired of fixing the irrigation system after they visit. Once notified they couldn't fix the issue or fulfill their promise to test the system (to ensure issues didn't exist). Never had this problem with other landscape providers and this one was more expensive then previous ones. Additionally, while they did the work as described they cut corners and seemed more concerned about getting the job done then getting it done right. A couple times the would miss raking parts of the yard as well as weeds here and there. They were decent but not great, honestly I expect more for the money. Time to move on. In response to the providers response below - You offered to lower the sprinkler heads, the sprinklers are not being sheered off at the top due to improper height, they are being broken at the base where they attached to the pipes. This happens when too much pressure is put on top of the unit. Additionally the sprinkler system is 3/4 years old, hardly to the point it should be falling apart (and it's the SAME sprinkler head that has been replaced so that part was new). I understand why the problem exists, after all I fixed it several times. You never even came out to view what was happening (after being notified) and have no idea what was broken or how. Instead you offered to fixed something based on your own assumptions, without inspection. Again, this has never been a problem with other providers, just yours. You were contacted about some areas not being raked and offered to send somebody out to fix it. I declined as it was not worth another visit but the fact that it occurred on several occasions (and you were notified about the issue) does not meet my expectations (and the customer shouldn't have to complain to receive quality of service). Additionally, we were told the system would be tested after services, which it wasn't. Again, they were responsive and polite but lacking in other areas. Very gracious of you to consider it in your "best interest" to not accept my money any longer after you were fired...... I guess I need to lower my professionalism score.....

Very professional and always on-time. I have a monthly service in place and they arrive every month on the same day. I would recommend Bim's Lawn & Landscaping Service to anyone!

They do excellent work. I don't think I have had any businesses that I have used more than once other than Bim's. I use them all of the time for my lawn care.

Everything went smoothly, took less time than I anticipated, and didn't cost as much as I expected. Bim's is also our regular yard care provider and we have always been extremely happy with the company and personnel.

Bim's workers were prompt, friendly, responsive to my requests, and did the work quickly. They dug long trenches in the dirt for the electric wire, but they cleaned up so well that at the end I couldn't see any trace of the excavation. The system works perfectly. And their bill came in under the estimate. I would certainly use them again.

We have had various workers over the years and they have all been excellent. Bim is great at returning calls and keeping in touch, and has always accommodated our requests for temporary schedule changes. We always receive exactly the help and service that we've asked for.

Bim returned my calls promptly. He sent someone out to look at the ditch and got back to me with an estimate. He then scheduled the job and it everything took place in the time frame that he told me.

Great. Everything was estimated and executed without me even meeting Bim. They did not trim some oleanders. An oversight, because I did not meet with them to go over the requirements. They came back the next day and took care of it free of charge. Easy to work with. Great results.

I have used their services for 7 months. I found the company through Angie's List. They complete the services exactly as stated at a reasonable price. The owner stops by periodically to assure the job is being completed correctly. The cost is based on one visit.

I have used them for about ten years regularly and they have been great for me the entire time. They are very dependable. They have quite a bit of work to do and they never miss anything. I have never had to ask of them to do anything because they already know what has to be done, and they recommend things. They are very polite and good and I am very satisfied with their work. They come on time and on the same day every other week and I pay them monthly for their service and think the price is reasonable.

Bim's was great in the beginning. But then my lawn started to look like a human checker game board. When I called them to tell them that they needed to fix my lawn because there were a lot of brown spots they said that everyone's lawn was like that and I needed to water it more. Then they finally said that they were going to send someone out by the name of Jeremy but Jeremy never showed. I am very disappointed with this company.

Work was performed satisfactorily, as it has been in the past. However, the crew was very late (1 1/2 hours) and provided no explanation, nor did we get a response to the two phone calls placed to the office notifying them that the crew had not shown up between the allotted time period. The charge increased from $160.00 to $190.00 with no prior notice or explanation.
