The reason it came that I sought out Becker Electric, is that another company came to our house a week prior and was totally befuddled by the problem of a shorting circuit. Since the other company was unable to find the problem, he finally wrote it off by saying: "It must be a short under your slab". But with Bob, it was like watching a "laser beam" diagnosise and actually fix the problem. You won't get this professionalism and determination in too many other people; regardless of their profession! Bob owns this company and he really cares.

I had a problem with an outlet that was not working. Bob Becker gave me suggestions over the phone that solved my problem without the need for a house call. Bob was very knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful. I would seek him out for future matters.

It was a pleasure meeting you and we were glad to take away the unwanted "alarm clocks" at your home (usually at 3am in the morning). I hope you can rest assured that all of your detectors are now current, of the same brand (for communication), with long life battery backup, and that you are also now covered in the event of buildup of Carbon Monoxide gas as you have natural gas service in your residence. Some cities do not require CO detectors, but as these are a life safety issue, what could be a better investment? We are confident you also have a pretty good understanding now about your security system smoke detectors being a separate system than the 120 volt/battery backup interconnected detectors and what those differences are. As some others have mentioned, he isn't the cheapest electrician and that's why I gave him a lower grade. After he completed the initial work, he asked if I had any addtional items and I said yes. He started to take a look and agreed to do the extra work. Then he said another customer had lost power and he needed to leave. When it came time to pay the bills he charged for the three hours and charged an addtional $80.00 service trip. (Makes us wonder why we go to the trouble of hiring local contractors who live nearby?) However, he told me that if he had stayed four hours, there wouldn't have been a service trip fee. In other words, the fourth hour would have been free, no? Well, I agreed to the fee, but in hindsight I can see why he might have decided it was better to go the next job. It would have been more fair for him to waive the service fee as he was deciding to leave the job for another one.
"Hi Member. I am really sorry that you felt the need to post a somewhat negative comment about our service. My asking if it would be all right if I left, was no decision on my part to try to "maximize profits" . Money is NOT the bottom line for us. My reputation of client satisfaction is paramount. During my visit, I had received a voice mail from a long time client indicating she had lost electrical power to her home office and was in dire need of a quick fix. You were trying to decide where you wanted me to install remote switches and asked for more time to decide the locations. I felt this would be a good time to give you additional time to decide the right switch locations and to rescue my client who's business was basically shut down. Since you thought this decision was unfair, I would be willing to waive the service trip charge (for any length of work visit) the next time you may choose our service. It was a pleasure meeting you and solving some of your electrical issues. I believe we also saved you some money by pointing out the correct controls to use for your ceiling fans. Becker Electric utilizes long term thinking, so client satisfaction/trust is our most treasured asset."
