The Hook Up

Well, the day of my appointment Jordan kept me informed of his schedule and that he was running late. I really appreciated the update. He was courteous and respectful. He understood my garbled description of my internet problems and resolved all of our issues in under an hour. I was amazed that he understood and how quickly he corrected the problem. I am so excited about finding him because we often have these problems and have no one to help. I was pleased with his pay scale.

We arrive to a warm atmosphere, Jimmy, had had a strong of bad phone luck and was in need indeed as his most recent device had become a sour e for glass slivers. While being greeted was less than engaging the ladder customer service more than made up for it and as we gleefully laughed as we exited to a humorous limerick our new friend behind the counter rattle off with a perfectly time cadence, is was over just like that!!!

They were good. We would call them again. The price was reasonable. I think it is a really good service he provides for older people.

This guy is good. All you have to do is listen to Alan's voice mail to know you're dealing with a pro. I had previously installed and wired my new home theater system and basically, nothing worked right from that point on. I had to use four remote controls. Alan arrived and in about two hours, expertly connected all devices (including hard wiring my "smart" components to the Internet), set up and fine-tuned the sound system and programmed my Harmony 650 remote to operate all devices perfectly. He also carefully went over everything he had done and explained how to use the new remote control. I highly recommend Alan.

It all went really well, Alan was professional and very knowledgeable. He arrived on time and performed the work very skillfully and without any fuss. Although my particular job was a small one he has vast experience and knowledge, I would certainly recommend him to others who need this type of work performed. They are very good. They are very punctual and very knowledgeable on stereo systems. He helps select all components and he did all the installation and he is very neat and very clean on the installation. He is top notch.

, from Our old DLP model TV was on it's last legs and I called The Hook Up regarding the installation of a new LED flat screen SMART TV model. The owner Alan Brown has given me excellent advice in the past on the best types and models of large screen TV'S and components for several years and has done outstanding work in re-wiring my home theater system. I called Alan when our DLP set began to show signs of failure and he recommended several models (LED) to consider buying. I bought the model I liked best, had it delivered to the house and called The Hook Up and scheduled a day and time for installation. As in the past, in spite of his busy schedule, Alan scheduled a day and time that meshed with my availability and, again as usual, arrived promptly at the appointed time. He removed the old 50" TV and helped me move it to the garage for pickup by a charitable organization. He unpacked the new LED 50" set and carried it into the room and began the assembly and wiring. I have several components which required rewiring; the rewiring was done seamlessly and tested for bugs. I own a universal remote (one of the best investments in electronics I've ever made. Using my computer and software Alan had added to my PC hard-drive several yeasts ago, In less than 15 minutes, Alan reprogrammed the universal remote to control all components of my home theater system. In just over an hour, I was up and running and watching an incredibly sharp LED TV picture, Now I can hardly wait until football season. As new components and new generations of TV become available, I will turn to Alan Brown and The Hook Up for advice and installation. Alan Brown is the best out there for advice and service on your home theater from complex wiring to components to speakers.

I contacted Alan to discuss installing a receiver I purchased. Alan identified that the receiver I purchased was not the receiver I needed. He clearly explained the differences in receivers and said he could sell me a receiver that will meet my needs. Alan arrived promptly for the appointment and efficiently installed the Stereo receiver and speaker selector, so I can use the built-in speakers in several rooms in my house. I now can listen to music throughout my house. Thank you, Alan.

Alan was terrific. Our Paradise Valley home is very complicated with wiring for cox, outdoor cameras, and a half a dozen pieces of electronic equipment all running wires behind our tv stand. Alan managed to figure out what looks and is very difficult to track back to sources. He was quick, thorough and knew what he was doing. He spent a good deal of time helping me understand how to use all six of my remotes not to mention how to navigate our new ulta hi definition tv. He really is a specialist and I would recommend him to anyone. I am so pleased I found him on Angie's List.

We decided to replace the tv.

Alan came in and got to work hooking up and configuring our new television as well as the other devices attached to the television. He was efficient and knew exactly what needed to be done. When he discovered that we had a bad COX receiver, he left and came back a half hour later after we replaced the receiver. He only charged us for the time he was at the house working. He hooked up the wi-fi, the DVD player, and showed us how to use the new DVR player and other new items. In addition, he took our old tv and set it up in our spare bedroom. He was very understanding, prompt, and I would highly recommend him.

Alan is amazingly skilled and competent and delivered even more than we hoped for, all the while moving at a pace that respected the fact that we were paying by the minute. He left no stone unturned and made an impossibly complex task for us simply go away as we watched his years of know-how in action. When he ran into a problem, he would troubleshoot it with ease... an innovative way to modify a connecting cable, a reboot of the modem when it was showing speed issues, zooming through software menus faster than we could even read them. He gave us an education in BlueRay technology, even inside tips on features of our cable provider we didn't even know existed. My husband and I are retirees and like most people of our generation simply can't keep up with the blazing pace of technology. Alan is particularly sensitive to understanding that older people love using the technology but can be frustrated by the expense and complexity of it. He referred often to how he helps his parents and other customers find their own way to be comfortable with using all the great entertainment options available to us these days. Because we're retired, we watch our expenses closely so calling Alan was a considered decision. We actually ended up paying him nearly half of what we paid for the new TV but the bottom line is that if we had tried to set up this system on our own, it might have taken us weeks to work through the necessary steps to be where we are now with only 2 hours of Alan's expert service?not to mention that his fee included $50 worth of new connectors that he carried in his truck that we would have eventually had to pay for anyway. Our dilemma felt a bit like trying to replace the engine in our car on our own, without tools. There are some things better left to the experts in the field and Alan is, without a doubt, the BEST. He earns his fee several times over and we feel it was the best money we ever spent.

All went great. I have used The Hook Up in the past. Alan always does a great job. He takes his time in explaining everything. Alan was on time and got started right away. He had to configure my tv with my cable, set up blue ray player, wii player and sound bar. He is very knowable when it comes to technology.

Alan was prompt, punctual, articulate, highly professional, and a pleasure to work with. He did what we wanted and made some additional suggestions along the way, which we followed. He worked efficiently, and his bill came in at less than he first estimated (and very competitive based on what we've heard from friends who had similar work done). I would have no reservation recommending him to others (already have) and will call him back if we wish to integrate any additional A/V components into our system down the road.

We had an excellent experience. There is nothing to dislike. We were very satisfied with his knowledge, and his coming quickly.

He was very helpful. We used some existing components and some new. He didn't try to sell me upgrades or add more than I needed. Looks and sounds great.

I was very impressed with Alan & his expertise, cost, & punctuality. I left a voice mail on Weds to schedule installation. My voice mail was returned on Thurs., & Alan came out on Friday to do the install. I had spoken with Alan about 10 days previously to get a general idea of costs. The actual coat came in below his estimate which I found quite impressive. Alan even took the time to contact my satellite provider to make sure that I could control the home theater system from my satellite remote. Overall, I am very impressed with Alan, his technical skills, & customer service. I will definitely recommend "The Hook Up" to anyone who needs a home theater installation.

I have used the Hook Up several times in the past for everything from setting up a media room and installing new TV's and sound systems to re-programming TV remotes. Alan is a true professional, honest, dependable, experienced and competent, not to mention having a great personality. In fact I feel as if Alan has become a friend . In the most recent case, he had everything set up and working within a half-hour. I wish I could find other contractors as professional and honest as Alan Brown and The Hook Up. If you need something done in the area of audio, TV or media room hook ups, don't bother looking anyplace else. Call The Hook Up. You won't be disappointed. My biggest fear when it comes to Alan is that he might be overwhelmed with work and have to hire people who might not be as competent . . . or that some big outfit will come along and buy his company. That would be a sad day!

It required considerable rewiring of the originally installed ceiling speaker system. It had it all up and running in 3 hours. I have scheduled him to return in February to back to make additional improvements to my system.

Great guy... Certainly knew his business. After hiring two others that didn't know how to have all our devices working it was such a pleasure working with him.
