WARNING!!! BUYER BEWARE!! Know all of the RISKS in doing business with Steel Advantage/Eco Advantage Sun and Security Solutions LLC and its owner, Anthony Gambino. • The owner is very DISHONEST. Over the period of 7 months, the owner told a series of pathetic lies in failed attempts to not refund our deposit. In short, the owner/sales person told us that we could use our superior existing locks and handles on the screen doors we selected. They delivered doors which could not accommodate our hardware. The owner/sales rep did not have the professional courtesy to phone us or email us after we left him several messages regarding “his mistake”. I finally received an email response from him several months later after requesting a refund of our deposit. In an attempt to trick us into accepting the doors he made, he claimed that if we used our hardware on his doors, the door handles and locks (and door crossbars) had to be pool code height (he sent a photo of an unsightly door design). It is hard to believe that the owner of the company could be so incompetent as to make a mistake like this on our order. Based on his interactions with us, and based on the way he has poorly treated so many past customers, I can only conclude that his business was very slow at the time because of COVID (April 2020) and he lied to get the business knowing that we would have a very hard time trying to obtain a refund on our deposit. The owner refused all of our many requests to refund our deposit and did not offer any compromise. In fact, he dared me to sue him. So that is what I did. Consequently, based on all of our documented evidence, we won a small claims judgement against the owner/company and the OWNER STILL REFUSED TO REFUND OUR DEPOSIT!! We then hired an attorney and made a claim against his company’s surety bond. ONCE AGAIN, THE OWNER MADE UP ANOTHER LIE! He told the bond company that he had already refunded our deposit and showed them a back-dated phony check that he never mailed to us. In the end, the owner was forced to refund our deposit and pay for all of our court and legal costs. • READ ALL OF THE MANY NEGATIVE PAST REVIEWS on this Company and Owner. Many past Steel Advantage customers have had had similar experiences with this company and owner: Misrepresentation of products, very poor internal and external/customer communication, no customer service/follow-up, not owning up to, nor rectifying their own mistakes, owner is dishonest, unprofessional and passive/aggressive. Sources: Better Business Bureau, Yelp, Angie’s List, Google Reviews. • READ THE FINE PRINT: Even though the owner touts that his doors are custom, the company’s contract states that “72 hours from the date of the contract the deposit will be NON-REFUNDABLE”. This is one reason why the owner treats his customers so poorly after a sale. He knows that most people will not go through the legal hassle and expense of trying to obtain a refund on their deposit. In short, if this company and owner make a mistake, it is on you! As another past unhappy customer so rightly stated in their review, the true character of a company/owner is not revealed when everything goes right, rather, it is revealed with how the company/owner treats its customers when problems arise and mistakes are made. Integrity is choosing your actions based on values rather than personal gain. This owner has zero integrity because he has repeatedly demonstrated to so many past customers that lying and omission are part of his character. I expect the owner will tell more lies in his response to this honest review.

The door and installation is awful. The door and frame are both warped but the installer forced the install anyway with crooked screws and excessive use of caulk to fill in the massive gaps. The frame is warped 5/8". The installer put wood shims in the door frame and tried to cover with caulk in an attempt to hide the large gap created by the warped door. I ordered an oil rubbed bronze handle to match the doorbell and light in the entry. They installed a cheapy, used silver handle. They will not put an oil rubbed bronze handle because they state the company quit making them. The way they fabricate their door, only this one brand of door handle will fit so the only option is the cheap silver one they put on it. I told him this is a make/break for me and I was never asked if this was acceptable prior to installation. His response to me was "you bought the door" and "there's nothing we can do about the handle because they are not available anymore". He then offered me $70 for the handle but I can't buy one myself because no standard handle fits this door. Aside from the handle this door is a disaster. It is completely warped as is the frame. It should never have been installed. The installer clearly knew this door and frame were warped because of what he did to try and hide it. The fact the installer installed this door like it is tells me this company doesn't care about the quality or the customer and definitely doesn't respect the customers home. Once this door is removed I will have damage to repair. I asked them to take the door back and give me my money back and they said they'd take the door back but not return my money. The pictures will show that this "custom" door is anything but custom. Custom means it should fit seamlessly and look like it was made for this house. I am forced to file a complaint with the Contractor's Board because this company will not take the door back and refund my money.

They never installed it. I missed multiple days of work waiting for their installer to show up. Lots of excuses, but never showed up. As install time approaches the installer stops answering his phone. Front office doesn’t care. Says that the agreed install date and time are only estimates. The only have two installers in the city, and don’t seem to care that they don’t actually do their jobs. I’ve asked for my money back, but have been told no. See you in court :(.

My poor review is not about the company's product quality or their service technicians (installation). It is about their office personnel who are unprofessional in regards to providing their clients with necessary and standard paid receipts. I have been trying for five months to get my paid receipts for security doors I bought from them and had installed. I have called their office several times, dating back to October, and each time I am told the receipt will be e-mailed to me that day. Since I have received other e-mails from them I know they have my correct address. I also recently asked one of the service technician to please have their office send me my receipt. That was four days ago as of this review, and still their office will not give me my receipts. It is required to have receipts for warranty work, for a discount on homeowners insurance, for information on the date, model, color, price and taxes paid. I appreciate the value of the doors I received and the professional installation, however, I can not recommend this company due to their unprofessional accounting practices.

Beyond excellent. Went to their showroom where everything was explained from start to finish, even got a your of their on-site factory where the entire door is assembled. They came to the house to measure and gave us a date for installation. The installer was a pro. Meticulous workmanship and the best heavy duty security door ever. Price was very fair. Highly recommend them.

Went as planned. The installer came the day that was promised when the door was ordered. The installer was really excellent and knew what he was doing. Staff and owner were very responsive, courteous and professional. Sam coordinated activities well.

- Tony was courteous when answering my range of questions and promptly mailed out wood and paint samples (high quality samples) for submitting to our HOA for approval. - Richard was prompt and professional when coming out to our home to take measurements. - The gentleman who installed our gate arrived as scheduled and took the time to do a quality installation. - My neighbors have already commented on how great our new gate looks.

It all went well. They were on time to measure and they were delivered when they said they would be. They look beautiful!

Both the sales rep and the installer were very professional and helpful. There was no pressure to purchase by the sales rep just helpful advice. Our installer was a total perfectionist and very organized. He was punctual and cheerful and worked non stop for 4 hours. He adjusted and balanced the doors so that they close softly and quietly. Eco Advantage is really a model for customer satisfaction and I highly recommend them.

From start to finish this company is high quality and professional. They exceeded all of our expectations. The location of the gate presented some problems which Eco easily overcame. The salesman, Richard, knows his stuff and had excellent solutions to meet our needs. This company custom builds their products to meet YOUR needs. We thought the prices were fair for custom builds but we were pleasantly surprised by the strength of the door and all of the security features. And the gate and the door both look great! The installer also knew what he was doing. The doors came first thing on the day that they promised and were both "precisely" installed in the time they said. The door and gate look as good as they preform and we are very happy. What really impressed us is that Richard came back later in the day to help me with another door that was not even theirs. I was working on the front screen security door that was poorly installed by another company years earlier. My effort left the front door out of alignment such that the deadbolt would not work. Richard came out just 30 minutes after I called to fix the problem. And at NO charge. Now we are wondering if we should have just scrapped the old front door and had Eco replace that one too. If you are wondering if this company will take care of you like family then wonder no more! I highly recommend them to anyone!

My husband and I were very pleased with this company. All service and work completed by this provider were done in a timely manner.

We became familiar with Eco Advantage from a recent Home Show at the new Stadium in Glendale. Eco Advantage had a booth at the show displaying their product line. We met the owner of the company, Woody, and he answered all of our questions and explained the purchase process. While at the show, we looked at other exhibitors and were drawn to the Eco Advantage products because of the obvious attention to quality of their products. We made an appointment with Woody to come to our house for a No Obligation estimate. At the home appointment we were sold on Eco Advantage's doors and place an order for two doors (front and rear). After a several week waiting period for the doors to be manufactured, we got a call to schedule the installation. The installer arrived on the agreed upon day on time and did an excellent job installing both doors and also instructing us in the proper care of our new doors. Not only were the doors high quality and exactly what we ordered, but the installation was perfect. We are very happy that we chose Eco Advantage for our security doors for our newly constructed home.

We found Eco Advantage at, of all places, the Mesa swap meet in early 2013. When we were ready to start the quoting process we called them and another company for quotes. While the other company was less expensive, the reviews on that company made me very nervous. Eco Advantage has a price match option which we took advantage of. Woody came out took measurements showed us door styles, colors and options. After going to a home show so my husband could see the door company's we were comparing we finally decided on Eco Advantage primarily for the customer service we were provided just thru the quoting process. We believe if the customer service is there in the beginning then it will be there after the sale. And that is exactly what Eco Advantage provided. It took about 5 weeks to get our door, one week longer than expected because the first door powder coating was not up to their standards. When the day came for install, the installer arrived on time and installed quickly and professionally. We absolutely LOVE our door. And so do our neighbors :-) I gave them all Woody's business cards. Woody even popped by to take pictures of the installed door. Eco Advantage is not the cheapest, but the quality of the door and the service they provide is worth every penny. This company is first rate. From the original visit and estimate by Woody to the final install, everything went according to plan. These doors are not cheap, but then again, they are of the highest quality. Customer service was the best. The installer was great. He had many years of door installation experience. I could tell that he was proud of the product, and he took great pride in his installation work.

They were on time, and on budget with a quality product. There was a small hiccup in that the installer did not have the correct color door hardware (handle, lock), but this was fixed within three days. Not a big deal. | |The reason for the 'B' on professionalism is due to how the Angie's list coupon/discount was dealt with. When I originally contacted Eco, they quoted me a pretty aggressive price. Afterwards, when they were onsite, I told them I'd found an Angie's List discount and would like to use it. Instead of telling me that the first price they quoted me was the best they could offer, they actually backed into the ultimate Angie's List price with discount by starting with a much higher original price. It was obvious, and tacky, and awkward. The original price was fair, and I was happy with it. The salesperson should have just said that they couldn't further discount the price and still make $. Net net is that you will end up paying $X for your door regardless of discount. If 'X' is fair to you, then go with Eco. I'm happy with my door, and their installation/punctuality.

I went from the Angie's List web site to the website for Eco Advantage. I wanted to see if I could get some basic information about the price for a security screen door. The live chat option came up. I was asked for my name, address, phone number and email address. When I asked why all that information was needed I was told "in case we were disconnected" which didn't make sense to me. I gave the person the name of a door style from their website and asked the cost. Again I was asked for my contact information. I was told that person couldn't give me any pricing information "since each circumstance" is different. I couldn't even get information about the price range. I was not pleased.

From the first phone contact, this company met all expectations. The salesman arrived on time, gave us the bid and had the doors installed as he said he would, when he said he would. I have recommended this company to neighbors and will use its services again.

They were very professional and they did a quality check on the door - ultimately, they had the door redone before they brought it out.

It was great. The sales man was very nice and professional. They brought out samples and invited us to go to showroom to see doors in person. We chose not to since we knew what we wanted. They were installed when they said they would be. Called me the day we signed the contract and said they would be installed on the 27th and they were. The man was here at 8am and left about 6 or 7 that night. They were completely installed that day. The sales man was very efficient, polite and nice. The gentleman who installed, Al, was a very nice gentleman. Offered him drink or restroom and he said thank you and he was just fine. The nicest man. He explained thoroughly to me about the doors and about treating them. Supplied with sufficient set of keys, offered to rekey house keys to security door keys. Nice service to offer. At no charge they put on wreath hooks for Christmas wreaths. I had screen doors removed, they do not take them but they set me up with a non profit organization that could resell the screens for lower income people. I worked for a non profit for years so this really touched me heart.

Excellent service! We saw their products at the home show after viewing them online. Representative arrived on time to measure, we chose a style from a variety of options, as well as, color to match up with HOA regulations. Also, the worker arrived for installation on date promised and even called in advance to advise he was on his way. Excellent quality door, bug-free, custom sill, seals, etc. A bit on the expensive side, but since this is an Arizona company, and an Arizona made product, it is worth it for us to support the local economy rather than buying something cheaply made in China. Buy USA is our family's motto. It doesn't get any better than this! This is is a quality company!

I started the process back in late November working with Woody. Very accommodating and knowledgeable when he came to my house to provide a quote. I explained that I wouldn't be back until late January, so they were able to work with me to schedule the installation when it met my schedule. From the service experience with Sam to the installation, everything went very smoothly and I absolutely love the door. I would definitely recommend them and they have other products/services that I plan to use in the future.

They are very easy to deal with and wonderful to work with. They were easy to get a hold of and we had no problems. They were very willing to deal with my home owners association as well. They are remarkable people! They are reasonably priced for the quality of work they did. Their quality was fantastic!
