Steve was great to work with and exactly what we wanted as far as developing a creative design. They worked quickly and had lots of men on their crew. The plants are still doing great (over one year being planted). We couldn't be happier with the quality and attention to detail. We had nothing but positive experiences with Outdoor Xscapes!

Dave Attichenson (their representative) was real responsive until they received final payment and then he made like a ghost and disappeared then became very non responsive. -Rear patios job was the worse, they were messy splashed concrete all over windows and walls and not to mention the new paver walkway! -Pergola is not installed properly beams split and incorrect height. -plants and trees looked already dead or dying, they would not replace because they said it was still a little green therefore they are still good. Had an ocotillo placed in front yard that looked dead and they told me that it takes a couple weeks for to grow and now many months later it still looks very dead! I am a disabled american veteran who saved up for many years just to have a dream backyard but was given only a nightmare of a company to deal with. I am in the process of filing a complaint against them to Arizona Registrar of Contractors for their shoddy work and take them to court. DO NOT USE
Description of Work: Did a complete backyard makeover -installed patio and patio cover(attached pergola) -installed fire pit installed multiple trees and shrubs -installed two grass lawns -installed paver walkway -installed back yard ground cover

Response from Outdoor Xscapes Inc
Outdoor Xscapes started the Project for Mr. [member name removed] on 10/27/14. By 11/3/14, the job was complete with the exception of painting. It was the home owner’s responsibility to provide the paint. On 11/6/14 the Owner spoke to Mr. [member name removed] in regards to his project. The customer was upset due to the patio, grates and the fact that the water wasn’t draining 100% off the patio. The customer got upset and hung up. The owner called him back and calmed him down and gave the customer the option of having us redo the patio or give him a $2000.00 refund for the cost. The customer decided to take the refund. A $2,000.00 credit was applied to the balance due. We created a work order to paint and complete the project. We tried contacting the homeowner to verify the paint was available and that we would have access. We heard from the homeowner on 11/21/14 stating that he had concerns regarding the pergola. The office contacted the pergola crew and let the customer know that the crew coordinator would contact him to schedule repair. On 11/24/14 we contacted the customer once again to see if he had purchased the paint. On 12/3/14 we put in a new order to paint and evaluate plants and replace any dead plants. On 12/12/14 our office contacted the home owner and requested final payment. The customer stated that his pergola has a loose beam and refused to pay until corrected. I contacted the pergola crew and they scheduled for 1/6/15. I contacted the home owner on 12/23/14 to confirm. On 12/29/14 Mr. [member name removed] emailed requesting the final balance. We responded with the balance due. 1/5/15 we received an email from the customer requesting plant replacement. The office responded requesting the homeowner to send in pictures of plants and pointed out that per the contract, frost and/or acts of God voids warranty. On 1/7/15 the pergola crew completed repairs on the pergola. We requested final payment and explained to the homeowner that the plants and any further concerns would be handled under warranty and final payment was due because all work has been completed. On the 9th of January the customer refused to release final payment until the warranties had been completed. We scheduled the work for the following week. On 1/12/15 our office contacted the home owner to confirm our crew would be out on 1/13/15 between 6-9 am. On 1/13/15, Omar replaced 8 Plants and the homeowner signed off on the work order stating “All items on Work Order have been completed to satisfaction of the customer according to applicable warranties. Issues and questions have been addressed by Outdoor Xscapes employee”. On the 14th, the office contacted the customer to request final payment and the customer stated that he has gaps in his grass and he wants that repaired before he makes final payment. Over the next week we tried contacting the homeowner to schedule a time for us to complete the work order while the customer was on site so we would have access. On 1/28/15 we made contact with the homeowner and scheduled the crew for the following day 1/29/15 between 9:00-12:00. On the 29th, Omar completed the work order, but customer was not able to sign off on the work completed. The following week we made numerous attempts to contact the home owner to collect the final balance. On 2/10/15, the customer called in their final balance. Later that same day, the customer sent an email showing rust on the pergola. Our office scheduled Omar to stop by on 2/20/15 between 12:30 to check the pavers. Omar concluded that the spots on the pavers were due to a fertilizer the homeowner had used on the grass. The customer contacted us once more on 3/3/15 requesting another service call, we were out on 3/19/15 and Omar replaced some pavers and referred the request for sod and tree replacements to the owner because the trees were not dead and the sod will grow. On the 25th the office informed the owner of the situation. Per the owner’s instructions, the office contacted the home owner and requested he send in pictures of the tree and explained that we will not replace the tree unless it is dead. The home owner stated that it still showed growth but appeared different than the other trees. He also stated that he was not interested in sending in pictures. The office apologized for his dissatisfaction and the customer stated that he would review us on social media and hung up. The office contacted the owner and informed him of the conversation. The owner tried contacting the customer and the customer hung up on him as well. On 5/12/15 we received an email requesting plants to be replaced. The plants in the pictures still showed growth and our contract specifically states that ocotillos are not covered under warranty. Also, this job was completed in November and the home owner was well past the 90 day replacement guarantee. The warranty starts from the day plants are installed. The customer stated that his sales representative disappeared, but the fact is that warranty service is handled through the office, not the sales department. The customer also stated that patio job was the worst, but we addressed his concerns, gave him a credit and cleaned the concrete that was a result of the construction process. We have been out multiple times to address his concerns for the pergola. The plants and trees that were dead within the warranty period were replaced. We feel we have done everything we could for this customer. We worked on his schedule, issued him a refund, held back on collecting the final payment until the customer was satisfied, and have scheduled multiple service calls every time the customer has called in asking for credits. He refused to speak with the owner and hanging up on conversations with the owner and the office. We have gone above and beyond to try to satisfy this customer and feel there is nothing left to be done. We have fulfilled our contract and all applicable warranties and are regretful that the homeowner is still unsatisfied.

Lighting installation went O.K., although not all lights arrived for the first day of work. A guy came back a week later and installed the last 3 lights. Plants were adequately planted. Front yard 3/8" gravel was adequately spread on thin areas where bare dirt was showing. Back yard 3/4" gravel whole east side of the yard was missed. Bare spots remain. Wife called Bret (sales rep) &/or Brandy (office manager) 4 times over a 2-week period. Each time Brandy promised a call back. No one ever called back. It's apparent they are not going to call back or offer any remedy for their incomplete gravel job.

The first day.went good until we got rained out. Waited 5 days to dry out. Came back with big crew and got the job done in a total of 3 days. We were provided with very professional drawings to scale before job started. We really could see what the finished job would look like. Was done exactly like we wanted. Our sales person Steve was good to work wtth. Jesse the foreman on the job was great as well as all the workers. They really cleaned up everything including washing down our street and sweeping everything up when they finished. After completion I had a few issues with watering system. I contacted them and they where right out to fix the problems to my satisfaction. A good company to work with. Very satisfied.

We were contacted by a sales rep after going to the Home & Garden Show. The sales rep contacted us several times and was persistent in wanting our business. We met with him and he gave us a great design. Said he could start in 2 weeks. Once we signed the contract, gave him the down payment, he fell off the face of the earth. He wouldn't return phone calls, texts, or emails. If he did answer the phone, he said he'd call me later, but he never did. I then contacted someone else in his office after 2 weeks have gone by. They were several months out, couldn't schedule but could fit us in Xmas week. We schedule it, they came and did a nice job in 2 days. However, several items that were part of the contract never got done and we were charged for items we never received. The contractor took all the extra pavers with him even though we paid for them. Charged us for plants that were never planted. Said they would reimburse us for the plants. After several phones, them telling us they sent a check, 60 days have gone by and I haven't received a dime. Had electrical problem with a light, took them several weeks to fix. I find the follow thru with their work and the customer service received from them lacking. I could never refer this company.

We apologize that the customer was not completely satisfied with our service. The customer's job was sold on the 25th of November, just before we closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Bret met with the homeowners on December 13th to pick out plants. We scheduled the installation to begin on the 19th of December. Job was completed within 2 days. On the 29th of December, the home owners contacted Bret through email asking about the plants missing and the light that wasn't working, Bret was on holiday and did not respond. On the 5th of January the homeowners contacted Bret once again. Since we had been closed due to the New Year’s, this was the first time we responded. Bret responded by email on the 5th of January and mentioned that we could issue a credit for the missing plants. Home owner responded that the credit was acceptable and requested the light to be looked at. The next day (1/6/15) the home owner sent another email asking for follow up. They wanted to know how long they needed to wait for reimbursement on the plants and when we could look at the light. Bret responded the same day (1/6/15) and said that the office would issue a check for the reimbursement and the lights aren’t covered under warranty, but he offered to stop by and see if it was a light bulb not working or a loose connection. That same day (1/6/15) the office called and spoke to the homeowner to let them know we would have a service person come out to verify plant count before we issued a check. On the 13th of January, the office called and let the homeowner know that we would be out the following day (1/14/15) between 6-9. The service person went out on the 14th and the homeowners had additional questions about their project. We scheduled the superintendent to meet with the homeowners on January 19th between 10-12. Jesse, the superintendent went through entire project with the homeowners and verified that they were missing (3) 5 gallon plants and (3) 1 gallon plants. We finalized the reimbursement total and let the homeowners know the credit was issued and we were mailing a check. The first check was mailed on 1/22/15. The customer called and we verified that we had mailed a check. On the 9th of February, the home owner called in and said they hadn’t received the check, so we verified the mailing address and issued a replacement. The second check was issued and mailed on the 11th of February. Once again, we apologize that the customer wasn’t completely happy, but we feel that we have done our best to satisfy the home owner.
I really liked Steve Marr, he's the guy we worked with. I really like his suggestions and he listens to us and paid attention to what we wanted. He made really helpful suggestions that I haven't thought of. We love the yard, it's great. They did a great job and they got there quickly and worked hard. I think the price was good.
Description of Work: They did a complete landscaping job for us. They put in pavers, Travertine patio for us, outdoor lighting and planted what they said were 49 plants and gave me stepping stones, just the whole deal.

Dave actually came out twice for an estimate. The estimate was reasonable but the issue was I needed the work done by a specific date. He assured me he would call me the next day to let me know either way but never heard back. Seems like a common occurrence with this company. I think I read other similar issues.

The sales rep was sloppy, and made continual mistakes in the contract. Proposed contract was revised 4 times before getting it correct. Sales rep was helpful and pleasant to work with. The landscape designer was very helpful, and willingly supplied several revisions. The landscape design was professionally completed. Installation crew performed good work, was professional and helpful, and very fast. The crew manager was very nice, seemed to supervise his crew very well, and provided daily updates. Crew was quick to re-do areas requiring rework. The final results were nice looking, and what we wanted. While above was positive, the overall job was unsatisfactory. It started when the job foreman noticed the installation of the gas line for the firepit was left off the contract, a $2500 unexpected bump. The sprinkler pipe installation was performed without drip regulators on the end of the water lines going to each plant, therefore causing added pressure on the PVC pipe resulting in insufficient water dripping at the plant locations and trees not obtaining sufficient water. The $1400 ornamental tree installed in the front yard eventually fell over in a storm as it was never staked. This tree did not leaf out properly as it did not receive sufficient water and root structure never developed after 14 months. We stopped calling after 8 times for follow up on the ornamental tree. There was a queen palm in the backyard that had problems from day one. After 6 calls to Outdoor Xcapes, a worker was sent out to remove a limb but was not authorized to replace the tree. It since died within 8 months. While the office staff was pleasant, they could only pass on our calls to management. We even called the owner who neglected to return our call. We never received a follow up call to obtain our comments about the job. When we were reviewing potential landscape contractors on Angies List prior to selecting Outdoor Xcapes, there were a couple of reviews that said the work looked good but the customer service was lousy. We knew this going in but thought we could overcome the bad service reviews with hands-on involvement. We failed as the customer service level was aweful, and has ended up costing us another $4000 to fix what failed. Bottom line: our experience with Outdoor Xcapes was absolutely abdominal and unacceptable.
Description of Work: Complete re-do of front and back yard. Totally ripped out front and back desert landscape and lawn, added new sprinkler system front and back, installed travertine pavers in back as well as installed BBQ Island, fountain/waterfall, and firepit. Installed artificial grass in some front and back yard areas. Installed nursery stock and trees.

The work they did was very good. The only issue that I had, was that they had too little flagstone in the quote, and started to use the small pieces and brought in some of their own flag stone (some were off color) to fill in the rest of the patio. I appreciate the initiative and their willingness to absorb costs to live within the quote, but I told them that I preferred to go and buy two more pallets and have the same size and color throughout the patio - they were thankful and never complained/mentioned their mistake. I bought the additional flagstone for about $800, they pulled the small and discolored stones and finished the work. Neither I, nor Xscapes realized how much more the flagstone the tight seams would cause and how much more time it takes to do those joints. They went well above and beyond to finish the work. They worked VERY hard out there and brought in an extra crew to help make it go faster. I would have them do work again. I suggest that you agree to order the flagstone yourself and leave it out of the quote if you want tight seems, as it will give you a better outcome and they wont be so nervous about how much to order (Save you money) Thank you Xscapes for hanging in there and finishing a brutally large amount of work. I am SO glad that I did not do the work myself, between all the bending and heavy lifts of up to 200#, my back would have taken months to recuperate. Beware, the 1/2 to 3/4 gap between stones SHOULD take MUCH more time and money, so be sure you really want that tight of a gap.
Description of Work: They put in 1650sf of flagstone with a 1/2 to 3/4 inch joint using poly sand. I had several quotes for flagstone, and they were the cheapest and looked like they had done a lot of it. They put in 1600 sf of flagstone for like $18K, including the material and with hand cutting virtually every edge and made them fit nice.

Everything started out great! We made contact with the company and within 2 days they sent a salesman to come take a look at what we were wanting to do. He was very nice, seemed excited about drawing up a plan. He said it would take a week or so to get it drawn up and quoted out. After 2 weeks we sent a follow up email to check status. We haven't received a response from anyone. Very disappointed. Was looking forward to working with them.

These guys did an outstanding job! We got three estimates and they came in with the fairest estimate. The crew was very professional, always on time and got a very large job done on an extremely tight timeline. The end result exceeded our expectations and we will be using them again in the future for sure. Highly recommended!

There seemed to be a lack of communication between the salesman and the foreman. The rock was supposed to be one color on the contract and they arrived with truck loads of another color, which the foreman said, that was what they were going to use. I had a major altercation with the foreman. a He explained in a loud voice (in the back yard, within earshot of my neighbors and his workers) that he had spent too much time and too much money on this project already. I later called the salesman and said "if you are satisfied that this job as is, I will get someone to finish it up some details and I paid the full amount. This is too bad since two neighbors have called to see the project.

We first got in touch with Outdoor Xscapes by phone to set up an appointment with them to get a free estimate. The appointment was set up quickly and Steve came to our house on time the day of the meeting. We had a pretty clear idea of what we wanted to do, so Steve put some pricing quickly and even offered us to go an visit a project they had completed not long ago so we could talk with some previous customers, and we did. We went to visit this couple that had used their services, and they had nothing but good things to say about Outdoor Xcapes. With that visit, and the reviews they had on Angie's List, yelp, etc we decided to pull the trigger with them and use their services for out brand new and empty backyard. We have broken up the project in two phases. The first one consisting on installing all the hard-scape, grass, irrigation, plants, rock, etc, and then the second (if we liked how they did the first one) putting a BBQ and a fireplace. The initial estimate was that the job was going to be done in 5 days or so. They were done in 2 and a half. Steve, Jesse (the crew manager), and the crew showed up Monday morning on time. We went over the design, and even made some last minute changes after marking everything on the backyard. The guys were ok with that, and their only worry was that we were happy with our project, and that everyone would be on the same page. After the initial set up the crew started working. I have dealt with some contractors before, and these guys were just among the best I have seen. They were polite, easy to talk with (despite the language barrier), and the job was quick and quality was just great. The only issue that we have is that they delivered 2 wrong trees but it was because we did not change the tree types on the design, just by email, so Jesse did not have the latest info. Nonetheless, when we told them about the trees, they did not hesitate to replace them with the ones we wanted. Another last thing that we really appreciated it was how clean this crew was. They spent a good amount of time when the project was completed cleaning our backyard, driveway, and even the street where the rock was delivered. Based on the experience that we had on this phase one, we will use them again when we are ready for phase 2, and definitely recommend them to anyone looking to hire a landscaper company. These guys were just simply great. Thanks Outdoor Xscapes!
Description of Work: Landscaping project on backyard.
Complete re-do of both front and back yards with fire feature, rock, sprinkler systems, plants, pavers back and front, yard prep for grass, removal of dirt, rock, block, etc., re-built from raised planter, caps on back raised planter and more... They were wonderful to work with and did very high quality work and the price was fair. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Initial contact at Home and Garden Show; recommended by Angie's List. Dave was our initial contact, came to our home and gave us an estimate. He met us at a stone place to pick the travertine we wanted. The company called about a day or two later, and scheduled the job for the next week. Jesse and his group did the project in about 1 1/2 days. It was a small project, but they had about 4-5 people here most of the time, so things progressed quickly. All the workers were good, and worked hard. Jesse checked with us periodically about how we wanted things done. There was one small glitch in what was supposed to be on the contract, but it was resolved quickly with no additional cost to us. The work did NOT involve additional landscaping (ie plants/irrigation, etc), but the pool deck/patio was surrounded by plants. I was most surprised and pleased that there was minimal damage to the plants, and the gravel was replaced acceptably. This is VERY important to me. The plants, deck furniture, tiles and windows were washed down before they left. One helpful hint to the company and anyone using them: IF there will be stone cutting anywhere near a pool, and IF you have a pool cover -- USE IT!! Cutting travertine stone is VERY dusty, and the powder gets over EVERYTHING. Our pool was a milky white for a couple days, but has dissipated over the last 3 days and returned to normal. I would not hesitate to use them again, and have already recommended them on our neighborhood website.

We have not yet had the work done but have been so impressed we wanted to post something regarding our experience to date. We have purchased a new home that is currently under construction and is estimated to be completed in mid-December. We found Outdoor XScapes on Angie's list and decided to contact them since we were less than impressed with our previous contacts. We are putting in a pool as well as landscaping and were very disappointed in the estimates from the pool companies on our landscaping bid. We intended to use our pool builder for both but the prices for landscaping were outrageous. We decided to explore just splitting it up and hiring a landscaping company as well. That is when we met Dave and his team. From the first contact with Dave we were impressed. He is very professional and really wants to listen to your needs and concerns. He informed us that they recently added several people with many years of experience in the pool construction business and he would love to bid our pool as well. He took the time to travel to our property and look at the surroundings so he could design something which complemented those surroundings. He came to our home nearly 45 min away to present his design and estimate at our convenience. The cost of the total package was a bit higher than our initial budget but we loved it so much we decided to move ahead with everything. The pool offered 15 more linear feet than the one the pool company offered. All of the equipment, features and products in the pool were the exact same and the pool quote was approximately $4000 less. The landscaping design was beautiful. There was a much better flow on the design. The pool and landscaping look beautiful together in the design. We have much more travertine, more trees, more plants for much less money. Dave also worked with us to try and move the numbers lower as well to hit our target. When we tried to work with the pol company on numbers all they did was cut out plants and travertine. There was no movement at all on price because there was "just no more room to move". Surprising since Dave was able to give us the crushed granite for $15 less per ton than one quote we received and $24 less per ton than another. The travertine was also about $1.50 less per sq foot. We recently met with Bill who helps with and oversees the pool construction. He is a pleasure to work with and has years of experience. He was knowledgable and answered all of our questions. Dave and Bill will be starting our project as soon as the house closes. I will follow up with a review when the work is complete. We hope the actual work is as professional and well done as the design and bid process has been.

We called up and had them send someone over to do an estimate. We drove around a lot previously to get an idea of what we wanted and how we wanted to do it. Bret came over and helped us with our initial thoughts took measurements, and provided us with a more polished design that was tangible for us to review. He was conscious of our budget and helped give ideas to keep us where we wanted to be. We worked on many revisions, had them do a rendering so we could actually visualize what our yard would look like and it was a huge help! We were going to spend $20,000 on our front yard and we wanted to make sure everything was going to be done right.. $20,000 is a lot to us, and even though a lot of landscapes are considerably more, Bret took the time to help us go over all the details of our yard. Bret took the time to take us to the nursery to select plants that would work for our specific needs and preference, he took us to the block place for us to review stones and give us ideas, he took us the synthetic grass store to review the various styles of grass. We were very happy that he spent the time and went the extra mile to help us make sure we got everything we wanted without any surprises. He got us on the schedule and Jesse and his crew came out to do all the work. They worked incredibly fast. The speed was that of pure expertise and none of rushing the job. During the process, Jesse reviewed every part of the job with us to make sure the plants and lights were in the right spots. He gave great recommendations from his experience of things to adjust and kept things real. We were going to use our old gravel and he recommended a new gravel. Since we were spending a lot of money why cheap out on one small part and have the yard look bad. We are very glad we took his recommendation. He was never salesy, just gave his expert opinion when we asked. We were out of town when they finished. When we got back, 99% of the job was perfection. We had them come out the next days to adjust and fix a couple things. Their entire crew was fast, efficient, professional and friendly. We are perfectionists and expect quality work. Outdoor Xscapes delivered on just that. I know for most workers, we might be looked at as a pain. However, we look at it as spending a lot of money and want it done right. Bret and Jesse never got frustrated with us and kept a smile throughout the job. Many neighbors jammed on the brakes because they were amazed by our new yard. We have given out a lot of their business cards and have recommended them to friends and family.
Description of Work: Completely redid our front yard landscaping: Leveled the entire front and removed all gravel, river rock, boulders, shrubs, cement walkway to door, and moved two palms to other areas. Then installed synthetic grass, travertine walkways and courtyard, courtyard wall, multiple plants & lighting, stone pillars, new gravel, transformer box and new irrigation timer.
We had several people bidding on the project but Dave from Outdoor Xscapes blow them out of the water. The quote was on par if not a little higher but from all the reviews I had seen I felt this was the way to go. We had them do the patio project first to see how we liked the work. Jesse and his crew came out and worked h****** it and were very professional. Every day they cleaned up after themselves which was important with my kids running around. After seeing how well they did we signed them up to do the big project the pool area. They remained on budget and on schedule. The work once again exceeded our expectations. Now when we call Brandi or Carmen for warranty issues (very few) are handled promptly and professionally. I highly recommend them to any one looking for high quality landscaping.
Description of Work: They remodeled our back patio taking out the old BBQ and cinderblock table. They then replaced the flagstone in that area (you can't even tell were the old setup was) and constructed a new BBQ area on the other side of the patio with Rock trim all around it. It is beautiful. We then had them construct a large play pool, with travertine deck, rock waterfall and misting system all around the pool and patio area.

The experience was challenging, however in the end my yard is what I was looking for. The job ended up over the original quote due to items included in the original plan but not included on the quote. Meeting times were missed and I had to call to find out when the job was scheduled. In the process of installing the drip system, the main water valve to the house broke. I was without water from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. The company did reimburse the cost of the plumber. The original raised flower bed wall did not match the color or style of the pavers. The company replaced the wall with a product that matched the style and better matched the color of the pavers. They covered the cost of the new install. The project took two extra weeks to be complete due to rework requirements. On the good side the Project Manager and installation team was very responsive, professional and quick to address issues and gaps identified. The company was recommended by friends. They were very happy and did not have the kind of issues I had. If you choose to use them, take the lead on the communication: Follow up with the scheduling team for schedule dates. Be sure you see samples of ALL products to be used on your job. Be sure the sales representative communicates all job components to the project manager. Stay very involved in the job. I checked in at the first of the day and end of the day, a lot of things happened in between that I would have stopped if I had seen them.
Description of Work: I had grass removed from my backyard and replaced with pavers, fake grass, and a raised flower bed.

My husband and I met this company at the local Home and Garden show. A representative came out to our home to give us an estimate. He was very condescending and rude. He said he would give us an estimate when he got around to it. Never heard from him or the company again.
Made initial contact with sales person/designer who was not good at returning calls, then made contact with Roland (company owner) and all further business was conducted directly with him. All future dealings were exceptional, timely and professional. Roland walked us through the complicated design process, helping us to obtain our wish list and stay within our budget. The work itself went well, all of our questions and concerns were dealt with promptly. Project superintendents were very receptive to design changes that we could see needed to be made as the work progressed. Finished project was beautiful, we were very satisfied. Did experience a problem, post construction, when the new patio settled several inches due to the torrential 3" rainfall we experienced during January. The company promptly came out to investigate and had a crew out the next week to fix it back to our satisfaction. Overall, I would consider this a good experience and would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Outdoor xscapes did a huge make over of our quarter acre yard. Work included building a block-wall/view fence (stuccoed and painted) around the perimeter of our property, filling in, leveling and creating a travertine patio, building a fire pit and built in barbque island, installing artificial grass, river rock and gravel over the surface of the yard, tree and plant installation.
