Customer service sets me up with a technician to service a specific problem I am having with my pool equipment or appliance.  I am given the name and phone number of the company to provide the service and I am always contacted by the company within 24 hours.  One Guard has been great with who they send out to do the work.  I am pleased with the outcomes.

WARNING!!!! 1st claim declined I recently purchased a warranty. Says pre-existing conditions are covered, etc. There was no pre- existing condition to even cover. The policy was effective mid last month. My tenant called and said AC not cooling. Their service tech comes over, says your evaporator coil is leaking. The system is bad and needs to be replaced. This is what you BUY a warranty to cover. If I purchased the house and purchased a warranty does everything have to be BRAND NEW for them to cover. The AC tech called me back and said One Guard is declining the claim because you just got the policy. So essentially this warranty wants you to pay for years before they will entertain a claim. The tech FLAT out said because the policy is fairly new they are declining (this is the reason). It’s a proven fact that an evaporator coil can go bad at any time which it did. I feel like this is actually discrimination for being a new customer??I am sure if I were to get an attorney involved, and find out how many claims they actually paid for evaporator coils leaking for long term clients vs decline mine for being a NEW customer I would have a case. I am PENALIZED for being a new customer for an standard claim. The customer service is nice, staff is nice, fairly quick to schedule, etc. However when it comes time to PAY… DECLINED!!!! I would say that based on this probability the people who actually got claims approved are maybe 1 out of 4. We will never know the statistics. I am cancelling this policy

Please know we sincerely regret your dissatisfaction with the outcome of the claim that was not covered by OneGuard due to the pre-existing breakdown with the HVAC system. According to the terms of the warranty agreement, OneGuard requires that all covered items are in good working condition upon its effective date. Based on the professional diagnosis provided by our licensed contractor that assessed your system, a leak was present in the evaporator coil and the unit was low on Freon. The technician advised the leak was in existence longer than a month, which is longer than the warranty has been in effect. We hope that our previous efforts to directly explain why the claim was not approved were helpful. I reported to One Guard and a service technician was dispatched the same day.  He didn't find anything wrong since the compressor was working while he was there.  The following day, it went out again. The same technician was dispatched and again, it started working shortly before he arrived and he couldn't fine a problem since it was working.  He dispatched an electrician who installed a new breaker. Finally when it happened again the same night, I reported to One Guard, who dispatched a technician who at that visit determined the compressor needed to be replaced.  My heart sank at the thought.
Much to my surprise, the compressor will be purchased and installed without charge to me.  I can't express my gratitude for One Guard Home Warranty.  They have always gone out of their way to service my home.  The are prompt, courteous and employ outstanding contractors.

I have had other home warranty companies and there are non that come close to One Guard for service.

I recommend them to all and strongly suggest anyone with a home, purchase the service.

I've had OneGuard as my home warranty provider for several years on two rental houses. Here is my assessment of their pros and cons. Pros - I've only once had them deny a claim. - They have replaced several items in my homes, including a hot water heater and Air Conditioner. - Their designated customer care reps definitely advocate for customers when there are problems. Dawn from OneGuard contacted me when she saw my original review and tried very hard to make things right. Cons - They consistently send out ineffective contractors wastinge my and my tenants' time by requiring multiple service calls and recalls to fix an issue. - They installed a mismatched A/C condenser on my house and tried to tell me that I then needed to pay to have a new air handler installed. - Their authorization reps do not have the same level of customer empathy as their customer care reps. I have felt that I had an advocate in customer care reps only to later be given unsatifactory solutions to problems by management or the authorization rep.

We live in the desert and got in touch with OneGuard around 4:30 PM after coming home and finding our a/c was out.  They had a repair service at our door by 5:45 and the air running in about 90 minutes.  It was 102 degrees outside and they responded to our need immediately.

This is the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with several. Every claim you try to submit the company argues with you as to whether it is covered or not in your policy. The last straw was when both our AC units went out. The AC contractor they sent was horrible. After 5 days of trying to fix the problem, the contractor finally came back and said the until needed to be replaced. I contacted OneGuard to see if we could use a different contractor and explained how rude & unresponsive the company was being AND the fact that it was close to 90 degrees in our house and was told "once we have assigned a contractor to a job, we cannot re-assign". Even if said contractor is horrible and you are living in inhumane conditions I guess. To make matters worse, we didn't hear back from OneGuard for another 3 DAYS when they informed us they were going to send a different AC company for a second opinion. That means we would have gone at least 10 days without AC in our home. I have no idea how they can even contemplate that being the type of customer service they want to provide. I will definitely be telling everyone I know to stay away from this company!!!

Had an exceptional experience today with my first needed service. Scheduling what was needed was fast, I was called by the provider same day and scheduled for two days later (my schedule not theirs). I am very happy thus far. I had never purchased a home warranty for my existing home but, am glad that I have at this point. Dallas C., the rep in my area (north Houston, TX), explained everything to me - how it all worked, the plans and made recommendations for what would work best for my home. It was easy and their monthly payment option makes it even more affordable. Today, the electrician came - Veterans Electric - Jared and Mark were beyond professional. They were fast, and diagnosed the problem quickly with an even quicker solution. I must say, I know nothing about electricity - and could have easily been taken advantage of by anyone - but, Veteran's team was on it and didn't try to upsell me on anything. They did what was needed and even double checked my jacuzzi tub to be sure it was properly grounded (no charge) when I asked if minded if I asked another question about an unrelated item. Overall, I am happy with OneGuard and will be using them for home servicing this fall - including window washing, HVAC servicing etc. For the money, service and peace of mind, I am very happy I chose OneGuard.

Tina was extremely fast in prvoiding me with all my replacement options as my microwave could not be repaired. It will take 2-3 weeks for the replacement to be ordered and installed but I don't mind the wait.

We received a call later that day from the company to schedule a technician out.  The technician came the next morning and confirmed the motor was dead.  He had a brand new disposal in his truck.  I think all in all he was here 20 minutes and we had a brand new garbage disposal.

The gentleman understood my concerns, and set up a work order for Monday. Monday mid morning, the a/c company "Cool Blew" called, and had a tech over in a couple hours. This is what I call excellent customer service. There is nothing worse, when service companies "out source" their call centers. I give One Guard 2 thumbs up.

We have had OneGuard Home Warranty for almost three years.  We have called upon them for annual checks of our HVAC system, replacement of our thermostat when it failed, repair of our microwave when it failed, and window washing service.  In all instances they were punctual in responding to our service requests and the service people they sent out were all highly professional and able to resolve whatever problem we were having.  We could not be happier with our OneGuard home warranty.

OneGuard hired the contractor who performed the irresponsible workmanship in the first place. There is nothing in the contract that states they are exempt from fixing problems that are directly related to a subcontractor's neglect or poor workmanship. In reviewing the subcontractor's website ([*** Link removed ***] they have absolutely NOTHING about pool repair. They are a pool CLEANING company. Why on earth would you send a pool cleaning company to perform mechanical equipment repairs? No wonder is was so irresponsibly installed. I am now paying over $500 out of pocket after finding my own pool repair contractor to install this properly. OneGuard accepts zero responsibility for creating this disaster at my home. There would not even be a problem if they sent an appropriate contractor to begin with. How is one supposed to believe the contractors sent for electrical work or anything else is going to be accomplished at an acceptable standard? How are we to feel secure with the contractors that are being sent? The whole purpose of a home warranty is to ease that burden from a homeowner. Contractors are supposed to be screened, reputable and most importantly competent in the task at hand. This contractor was supposedly pre-screened and verified. Additionally, we have tried contacting Green to Crystal Clear Pools directly, to have phones and emails go unanswered. OneGuard states: "OneGuard does not reimburse for work performed by an outside contractor. We want to ensure that our customers receive the best service. Therefore we use only approved contractors that have been previously pre-screened and certified by OneGuard." The pre-screen and certification was obviously sub-par. I am now paying $551 out of pocket to have this fixed by someone who actually knows what they are doing when OneGuard should have sent a proper contractor in the first place.

They have been very responsive to service calls on rental properties I own. Also, I work for a property management company and they are by far the best home warranty company to deal with. I receive great customer service from Cindy Savage who will go above and beyond to get my questions answered.

As part of my new home purchase, a OneGuard warranty was purchased. I found an issue with the dishwasher in the first week. I tried calling twice before 5pm and entering an online service request, but was never contacted. Since they seemed difficult to get in touch with, I decided to cancel my service. Per the contract terms on their website, I had 30 days to cancel with a full refund. I initiated a cancellation request, but was told my contract terms were different than what was on the website, and would not received a refund for the full value of the contract. If I am truly subject to different terms, the liability should be on OneGuard to provide those terms and make them readily accessible. They said it was up to my realtor to give me a brochure of their plan types and terms. This seems like very deceptive practice to advertise one set of terms and bury a second set of terms.

It started out a bad experience as I could not get a vendor out before 4 days because all their vendors were booked but they were able to rectify it. It is Arizona and the summer heat causes a lot of AC issues for a lot of people. The first vendor that was sent out did nothing for us. We turned the AC while we were waiting for the vendor to come out. When he turned it on he said it was working and that there was nothing he could do. It went out again the next day and we had to call OneGuard to get someone out again. This caused us to have to wait 2 & 1/2 more days and have to leave the broken AC on so we did not have a repeated issue. They sent out a better vendor who was able to identify that the issue was with a wrong part that was put in a couple of years ago. He replaced it and we have not had an issue since. I was very upset about the length of time it took to fix (6 & 1/2 days total). We have a family with small children and a dog. They offered to put us in a hotel but relocating to a hotel was not an option we wanted to take. So we stayed with family. I asked that they do reimburse us for the money we had to spend on food/gas/electricity while we were relocated. Initially the agents on the phone could not help with more then a hotel reimbursement but after speaking with the customer relations team I was able to get them to help us. The experience was bitter sweet. I just think they need to work on getting the agents on the phone to exhaust all resources before coming to the conclusion that they cannot help me. Just knowing that they tried, would have made my experience totally different. We have had to use OneGuard several times in the last year and never seemed to have an issue. I am happy that they were able to rectify the issue and be understanding of our needs. We only asked to be reimbursed so we could be able to pay our rent in September.
