Handyman Connection - Phoenix

I'm selling a house. The buyers home inspector went through the house, tested everything, and shut the heater off during the coldest spell since 1988. Water pipe froze & burst in the attic. Just luck we were at the house when the ceiling started "dripping". Plumber found & repaired the leak, but a portion of the ceiling had fallen down. Needed this handled immediately. Called 2 drywall groups I found on Angie's list. Both came out the next morning to give me a quote. One group stopped by looked at the damage & said they would provide me an estimate by EOD. Handyman Connection provided me a quote on the spot, and were ready to start immediately. Accepted their offer. They completed the drywall patching that day, then came back the next morning to complete the texture matching and painting. Great workmanship - no one would know that a 4x8 sheet rock panel was replaced. I also did receive the quote from the 2nd company later -> 80 percent higher than Handyman Connection

In November, I got a quote for 8 electrical fixes from a different Handyman Connections electrician who became sick before he could start the work. Handyman Connection called me to make me aware of his illness and asked me if it would be ok to send Mark to do the work. Mark was great, very knowledgeable and very careful with the installation of a flood light on the side of the house. The other 7 items to be installed could have been installed in December if I went with a different handyman. I decided to wait until Mark was available again, because his work and installation was first rate. In January, Mark did the remaining jobs (a back yard flood light with dimmer, a 3 way lighted switch controlling the hot water pump, 2 front motion sensor flood lights, a fan switch that gave us dimmer capabilities and fan controls from the switch, and two outside electrical outlets. Clean installations all. And Mark even suggested a better way to fix several of the problems. Mark's personality was very accommodating, and I was amazed at all the additional kinds of work Mark does. I was impressed that Handyman Connection kept on top of the illness of the first person, worked with me to make sure I had someone else within my time frame, kept to the original quote after a replacement had to be made, and followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied -- actually "thrilled" is closer to it. I also liked the fact that I purchased supplies separately -- both controlling cost and quality. Do use Handyman Connection again. Do use Mark if he is available

He was very neat and cleaned up after himself. He did a great job and did it quickly. He didn't drag out the job and offered valuable suggestions.

He checked out the problem but the repair was outside his expertise. He made some suggestions which i will follow up on and if other work is required i will definitely call him back.

It went as I had hoped. I made the call, it was arranged to suit my schedule. Estimate was provided and the work was done.

The experience was excellent from start to finish. Great communication and went step by step to ensure that I was aware of what he was doing. Made sure the workspace was clean and that all of our personal items, floor, cabinets were covered before getting to work. Removed the track lighting and placed three recessed canned lights above three of our highly used areas in the kitchen. Overall it took about 2 and a half hours and he made sure everything was clean and in working order before leaving. Great experience! Highly suggest!

Dave was due to arrive between 2 and 4; he arrived about 2:20. He looked at the door that I had purchased earlier, measured it, wrote up the job and called his office. He then gave me an estimate, I agreed and he proceeded with the job. The door that I purchased from Home Depot was bent and the dead bolt did not go deeply enough into the hole so Dave did several things to ensure that the door locked properly. I would definitely use this company again. Dave also cleaned up after himself and took away all of the packaging.

Handyman explained options of what could be done and completed the job at the estimated price. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Plan on using again for some other repair jobs.

Handyman Connection sent 2 different contractors to perform estimates on our project. We needed 230 sq ft of floor tile in a newly remodeled master bathroom, master closet, and laundry area. Additional tile in the shower 200 sq ft. Both contractors were punctual, professional, and honest. Unfortunately, our project was out of the first contractors scope of work and the second contractor had a significantly higher price than any other contractors who provided estimates. (the bid was 150% higher than the contractor we hired)

Had a very unique built-in entertainment center in our new house. Handyman connection sent a very knowledgeable person who was able to extend out the space for a bigger television and quoted us $1,360 + materials. He did a great job, was professional, stuck with the timeline, and we paid the exact amount quoted. We were very pleased.

Couldn't be more pleased with him. Made joining Angie's List worth every penny!

Overall had an excellent experience from start to finish. Very prompt & helpful email responses helped to do the pre-work in advance so that the price quote & installations could be done on the same day. Very friendly & convenient scheduling experience as well. Job was completed promptly as promised.

They came late on one evening and gave me an estimate and looked at the supplies I had. The next morning he came backat a time convenient for me and completed the job quickly.

Had short hallway that needed drywall replaced, tape and texture wall/ceiling. Work was done in a timely fashion and completed as agreed.

I needed an 18 square foot piece of carpet repaired in a small area just outside my bedroom. My cats had clawed up the carpet and I wanted to put a few tiles down around the door. The company was very responsive and came out quickly. The handyman said he could do the work and told me it would be $400 (plus $50 off per the coupon) and another $130 for the tile. Now this is a very small area - I would not need much more than 1 box of tile and I own a brand new house so I had no issues with a subfloor or structure. So the price of the job was $530 minus the $50 coupon. He told me to buy travertine stone tile and I could look at it at Lowe's or Home Depot which I did. Well both employees at those stores told me travertine is the worst to maintain and if I had animals, (I have 2 dogs which the guy saw and I told him the cat story) I would have a difficult time keeping it clean and not getting it scratched. In fact, both stores were filled with porcelain and ceramic tiles but only had 2 samples of travertine stone. It's just not used much because it's so difficult to maintain. So I start thinking why did this handyman tell me to get this kind of tile which also happens to be the most expensive. I then asked at Lowe's how much it would be for them to come install a 18 square foot of tile. Well, it's $37 for the guy to come out and that goes back to the bill if hired. The entire bill came to $138 including the porcelain tile. The installer, not knowing my story, told me to never use travertine because it's expensive and not maintenance friendly. Again, it's just a tiny little area with about 6 tiles that I wanted to cover under my bedroom door, but they did a great job. It was not any kind of major contracting work and I wold have been overcharged $400 if I used this company. I also would have put down the wrong kind of tile and would probably have to re-do the work all over again at some point. I see some very good reviews about this company and that is why I called. I cannot comment on the work because I did not hire them. But I would recommend getting a few estimates before moving forward on any project.

I was unable to get the deadbolt locked on my front door. After looking at the situation, the technician was able to adjust the hinges and keep the locks the same. The door was slightly off and by evening it out, the deadbolt now works properly. Since I had some extra time, he was able to tighten up screws around the kitchen cabinets as well.

when i called, i was initially very impressed. I had my date and time and they even called me the night before to remind me of my slot. the next day, the handyman ended up being an hour and a half later than the latest time in the window given to me. I was very frustrated and called to complain. He did show and i was expecting attitude but he killed me with kindness and his professionalism. he gave me a quote and came back the next day to do the job (he showed exactly when he said he would!). It was done well. My only gripe at this point is he had me go to home depot to buy supplies he needed to install the faucets and he ended up not using two pieces but he threw away my receipt and now i'm stuck with two items i can't return. also, a week later, handyman connection called me to see how the job went and if i was satisfied. I really like that. i told them it sounded like the sink was making sounds. By the following monday, they sent another person and had it checked out. I think, overall, they are expensive (and i got a supposed angies list discount) but you pay extra to have someone come quickly. it's a give and take.

When I called to schedule the work, the person who answered the phone was friendly and scheduling was very easy. The repairman came on time and seemed thorough when assessing & explaining the problem. I thought the flat service charge was a little high just to seal up a shower door but they told me what it would be when I initially called and I agreed to pay. The door seems to be fixed now.

Frank did a great job. He is truly a talented guy who can really get the job done. Everything looked great and he was easy to work with, and even gave us some excellent suggestions. The work was done right, and we will have Frank and Handyman Connection come out to do additional work for us in the future. No need to worry when you hire these guys.

They were prompt. I liked speaking with the person who took my order and the person who came to do the repairs.

Their services are fine, the price is a little high.

Ray first came and gave me an estimate. Since I had used them before and trusted the company and his estimate was reasonable, we made an appointment for him to do the work several days later. He had to cut a few tiles to gain access to the under tub valve, I supplied most parts and Ray bought drain trim and overflow plate. After installation, he put back new tiles that I have. I am satisfied with his work and would recommend the company to anyone.

Rob is phenomenal. He is honest, dependable, through and a true craftsman at the top of his class.

From the first contact to the completion of the job we were very satisfied.

Mike arrived on-time to provide the estimate, reviewed the proposed work and provided a written estimate ($475 plus cost of materials). I agreed to proceed on the spot. We scheduled the work for 5 days later. Mike again arrived on-time and performed the work. There were few surprises and he finished all the work (except final internal sanding and painting because the first coat of paint needed to dry thoroughly) generally within the time he advised it would probably take. He returned the next day to complete the final sanding and painting as we agreed. Mike easily removed the swimming pool heater and capped the pipes. The results were excellent - you would never know there had been a doggie door there from either the inside or the outside. The final cost was exactly per the estimate plus about $75 of materials (which Mike provided receipts for). I was very pleased with work and would highly recommend Handyman Connection. One minor item was that Mike did not have time to load the old swimming pool heater into his truck. He agreed to return and collect it and dispose of it. It took Mike about 2 weeks to return and I had to call the office and ask them to remind Mike about doing so.
