Stapley Action Garage Doors

Had heard a noise in house (sounded like something had fallen) about 3:30 but could not see anything either in house or garage. My wife came home @ 4:20 and could not get garage door open. I looked and saw that the coil spring had split in two (never thought to look there during earlier inspection). Checked Angie's for closest service provider and found Stapley (this was already past 4:30). Explained my plight to Laura. While on the phone with her, she contacted one of their technicians that had recently completed a job in our area. They showed up about 20 minutes later and, by 5:30 that had replaced the broken spring, serviced the rest of the mechanisms, honored the coupon on the Stapley website and were gone. This kind of service, late on a Friday afternoon, couldn't be more pleased.

SAGD was the vendor assigned to me when I recently purchased a new garage door opener from Home Depot. They did a fantastic job and were very responsive! Scheduling was very easy and they were communicative on their timing to the two service times that were required. The first time out, I was given a two hour window to wait for the service. Before we were even in the time window, the office called me to let me know that my installer wouldn't arrive until late in the window so not to worry about running home immediately - this was personally very helpful for me. Additionally, their installers on both occasions called me approx. 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. Now why did I need two service appointments for a simple garage door opener? The first appointment, everything was installed just fine but the installer detected some part of the opener that was failing on install. So instead of letting me make that discovery myself, he let me know and came out another day to replace that part (free of charge, of course). Now, that likely is how all companies should behave but it was nice they were so thorough with the install. Finally, they did an inspection of my garage door and gave me a few pointers and low-priority maintenance items that I should likely think about over time but weren't necessary at that second. This was again helpful to help me think of things needed to maintain my home properly.

Rusty and Roderick came out to service our garage door on a Friday. They got it working, but it stopped again later that evening. On Saturday morning, I called the main office simply to leave a message to ask them to come back on Monday. Shortly after I left the message, Rusty returned my call. I told him what the problem was, he asked if he could stop by, and he was at our home within the hour. As my husband and I had suspected, our garage door opener had lifted its last door. Rusty had a new opener in the truck, so we bought it and had it installed. The new opener, a LiftMaster 8550 belt drive unit, is very quiet. It has some great features, including "Timer-to-Close" which allows the door to close automatically after a pre-programmed number of minutes. We also got the remote monitor that indicates whether the door is open or closed, and lets you close it remotely. I've already recommended Stapley Action Garage Doors to a friend. Great work!

Excellent experience! The springs on my existing garage door broke and the door was completely immovable. I spoke with Susan the next morning and they quickly scheduled service the same day to convert my old system (Wayne Dalton i-drive) to a standard torsion drive and install a new garage door opener. Our installer Jaren was on time and professional. The work went so well that we had them install a garage door opener at another house, and then had them come back a third time to install a similar opener on the second garage door at our primary residence. Combined with the Angie's list discount, I felt the price was reasonable. ossibly a little high but generally competitive, with excellent customer service and prompt response that more than made the difference.

They were really fast. They replaced the two springs in less than an hour. They also took the time to balance the door. The door is working fine. He was polite. They arrived when they said they would, and everything went fine.

I like that they gave me options to either repair or replace my garage doors. I was pleased with the services provided and would use them again in the future.

My garage door would not open correctly. The door would move up a foot or so and then stop. Clicking for the door to go down and then quickly clicking for it to go up would get it to go up another foot or two. It took 4 or 5 times doing this to get the door to go up all the way. I called Stapley Action. They've been out to my house a little over a year ago and I was pleased with them at the time. I explained my problem to the phone receptionist, who asked if I wanted to talk to a technician. She put Rusty on the phone. I explained to Rusty what the issue was. He asked me the make and model of the door opener. Knowing that, he explained what likely was the problem and why it could happen, talked me through making a minor adjustment on the motor and the problem was fixed. Rusty said I was probably fine for now, but if the symptoms arose again relatively soon (I'm thinking months to a year, not days or weeks) that the unit would likely need a servicing. There was absolutely no pressure selling and I felt it was a reasonable suggestion. This is one of those companies that you know you are dealing with people with integrity and a strong customer service commitment. I told Rusty that I appreciated this, and that I would consistently use them and recommend them in the future. It wasn't until afterwards that I thought to make this report. I was already on Angies List web site due to a Angie's List Big Deal for a garage door service and realized that this was the best way to say thanks.

I really liked the guy who serviced the door and thought he was incredibly professional. I would happily use Stapley again for my garage door.

He came out the same day I called and was able to easily fix the issue. He charged me around $40.00. He was very honest and prompt. I had had another company out before him and they told me I needed a whole new door!

WOW! We are very happy with Stapley Action Garage Door, we sent them out to one of our properties for a second opinion and boy are we glad we did! The original garage technician wanted to charge us $900 and do a complete overhaul on the garage, which we found to be unnecessary and suspicious since the garage is only a couple years old. Stapley was quick to respond and was out there the same day and had the garage working in no time! Best of all they were HONEST, which is hard to find! They let us know what exactly needed to be done and what could arise in the future! We run a property management company and are always looking for great technicians, we will be using them from here on out!

It turned out great. There were no problems. He made appointments with the tenant and showed up when he was supposed to. He took care of everything.

Mr. Stapley, the owner, came out personally on very short notice. He gave me an estimate and then had a tradesman out the next day to do the work. Everything was done on time and within the estimate. It was a very positive experience and I would recommend Stapley Gargae Doors to anyone who needs work done on their door.

It turned out good. Everything was alright. They put a new weather-strip on the bottom because the concrete was sloped. It covers it up pretty good.

It was fine. The garage door didn’t fall down. I don’t remember not being happy. They must have showed up on time. The price was comparable to everybody else.

Their technician was unable to identify the root cause of the problem and in the process of providing an estimate, he broke a part and refused to repair or replace it at his expense. They called 30 min prior to the agreed upon appointment window and then showed up on time. I explained the problem with the garage door and asked for their opinion. The Stapley service technician examined the garage door and opener and tugged, wiggled and shook various pieces. He put his hand up on the motor assembly of the garage door opener and rocked it side to side and said that it shouldn't move like that. He than placed his hands on the traveler (the arm that connects the worm screw of the opener to the door itself) and rocked that from side to side a few time and said that it shouldn't move like that either. Later on, I then pressed him to identify the root cause of the failure since I felt that if that wasn't known then the problem could reoccur after getting the traveler arm reattached to the garage door. The technician then repeated his earlier statements and shook the garage door motor and arm again. It was at this point when he had the traveler arm in his hand and was rocking it from side to side that it broke off from the center rail were the worm screw is located. The technician then said "Well, that's not suppose to happen", and then started to suggest that that may have been the cause of the whole problem. His speculations were ridiculous. The door was deformed into the garage like something had been pulling on it with a lot of force. The screws that connect the arm to the metal garage door were pulled straight out and left dangling in the holes at the end of arm. This suggest that the motor and arm were working correctly and pulling in one direction and that the door was stuck somehow. I then asked if he could repair or replace the part he broke off. After he talked to his manager twice, the best they could do was give me a discount of $29 discount for a $49 part (his estimate). So basically, I would pay him $20 dollars to repair a part he broke and this is in addition to the other things that needed repair before he showed up. I ended up having the garage door repaired by a different company since I really didn't want to reward their carelessness. Overall, the technician provided and unimpressive total estimate, and and was reckless in his troubleshooting techniques and the handling of his customers property.

The spring on garage door broke. When I called they asked if my car was stuck inside the garage, which it was. They then indicated a service man would be there within three hours. He arrived within the time specified. He replaced the springs, lubricated door, adjusted springs, and adjusted the garage door opener and was done within an hour. This was my second time using Stapley and I was happy with the service both times.

They replaced the mechanism, to move the door up and down. Since, it was only gears to be changed, it costed us less than expected. They were honest and did a good job. They only offered services, which were relevant. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

It turned out great. The installer did a terrific job. He was very informative about going over the new garage system. I would highly recommend him. He was one of the lowest bidders, as well.

They were very quick and responsive, replacing the door in no time. However once I got my truck parked, I couldn't get it out so they probably didn't measure it correctly. I needed to leave for work and their offices were closed so I drove the truck off and it damaged the door. I called them again and told them I would cancel the final check if they didn't come out. They did come back out and fixed the door. I later found another company which was around $600 less so that would be the only reason I wouldn't hire them again.

Stapley was great - they supplied the remotes and didn't even charge me for the drive time / service call fee, since the house in question was very near the residence of one of their technicians (the tech just stopped by my house and performed the work on his way home for the day). Saved me quite a bit of cash.

It took them 3 weeks for get it completely fixed. They said that it was fixed just after they got there, then told me that they ordered a part. The part was wrong, so it took 3 weeks to get it resolved.
