 + 1 moreThey initially responded on a Sunday to fix clogged drains that affected two bathrooms, and got it repaired just before we had guests arrive. We had them repair longstanding problems with incorrectly installed fixtures that had parts from manufacturers out of business, so they had to hunt down the parts, repair the fixtures, adjust the hot water recirculation sytem (which had pipes crossed in the wall), all of which required multiple visits. Our dealings with the owner, Jon, and the working plumber, Paul, were first rate. They were timely, professional and always responded quickly to emails or phone calls.
Description of Work: They initially dealt with clogged drains, but we also had them replace a water heater and recirculation system and replace fixtures in showers and sinks that had broken parts or had been installed incorrectly.

 + 0 moreI sent an email about the service needed and had a call back within 20 minutes. The technician was able to come out same afternoon. I had forgotten we needed to be somewhere so called to reschedule a few hours later. The person answering the phone said the technician was in the area and would stop by to fix it if we were not home. When we arrived home later, the drain pipe that had been broken for about 4 years was fixed! There was a phone message regarding payment on the anwering machine and I could not be happier with the service/price. Awesome.
Description of Work: We had a broken cap on an outside drain pipe that needed to be replaced. The old cap was stuck on and it was broken so that rocks and other garbage was getting into the pipe. The technician came out and fixed the pipe in less than 5 minutes! Awesome company. Quality work, excellent service. I will call J&H Plumbing again for my next plumbing issue and have recommended them to the people I work with.

 + 0 moreI called and they were very helpful. They came to the house the next day. Paul was on time and was very nice. We walked through everything that needed to be done. He replaced the two kitchen faucets and fixed some things that were not done properly when the original work (not done by J&H) was done. He checked out the water heater, adjusted a couple of things and made sure it was working properly. He explained the problem with the washing machine, but they do not work on them. All in all I was extremely happy with the work that was done and I feel it was a reasonable price. Paul was a very nice man and I would not hesitate to use them again. I will definitely tell my friends about them.
Description of Work: I had two new kitchen faucets installed, the handle in shower fixed, the hot water heater was checked out and the washing machine looked at.

I appreciated the promptness since we had to shut off the water to our house because of the leak that was spraying water at the old valve. The inconvenience of having no water was short-lived, thanks to the quick response from J & H. The cost of the parts and service was very reasonable. I will call J & H again!
Description of Work: Paul installed a quarter turn valve to replace an old valve that was leaking.

 + -1 moreCalled J & H Plumbing because our hot water heater was not putting out enough hot water. We thought we had a bad element in the heater. Paul from J & H came out the same day and quickly diagnosed the problem....a water leak under the house. The next morning Jon, the owner of J & H came out with Paul and Precision Locating (they have the equipment to find out exactly where the leak is). A game plan was formed, and Jon said they would be out the next morning to reroute the water line. They came first thing, and worked on capping the old copper line and then replacing it with new flexible piping that is very durable and has a long warranty. They were here for half the day. They had protected a wood cabinet and the floor with plastic and were very good at keeping the dust down. By the afternoon the work was completed and we were back to having hot water. I am grateful for their quick service and good work.

Description of Work: Valve to water supply in the bathroom broke off in my hand spewing water like a firehose. After shutting main valve to water supply, I called J & H Plumbing ( on the Wed.afternoon before Thanksgiving) . A friendly receptionist said she would have someone at my house in 2 hours. She later called to tell me he was running a little late from the last job but is on the way (greatly appreciated). He arrived shortly thereafter and had it fixed in 15 minutes plus replaced the parts in the fill tank. Jesse also gave me some excellent suggestions for another project I am planning.  + -1 moreWe had an emergency situation with a bathroom- tub leak. Water could be heard spraying in the wall. J & H arrived fast and was professional, timely and courteous. They were so good, we had them out another time for maintenance plumbing items such as a faucet leak and toilet valve replacements. I would use them again. To be honest, they were not my first call as I had not heard of them before however we were very pleased with their work and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We had an emergency situation at first with a tub leak inside the wall. After the tub leak was fixed, we had J & H Plumbing back to complete other plumbing items around the house.

 + -1 moreI am very happy with them. I had to have him 4 times because I needed a dishwasher installed, and I had a leak. Then I had roots in my sewer. I have two big trees in my front yard, and that's where the problem is. The name of my plumber was Edward, and he was very good. I was very happy. I probably needed a part replaced, and they didn't do it. It started dripping again, and I called them. They didn't charge for the part or the service fee. They were very fair. Plumbers are expensive; but they corrected their mistake, and didn't charge for the part or anything. They came back. They are very nice people to deal with.
Description of Work: J & H Plumbing LLC took care of a leak in the dishwasher and the tree roots in my sewer. The work took place around July.

I called J & H Plumbing, based on feedback on Angie's List, to fix my mess.They responded within 30 minutes - even though it was a Saturday. The plumber said he was in the area and would be at my house in about an hour. He was right on time and after looking things over, made a few suggestions and went to work. The work was completed in about an hour and am very happy with his work. I feel the charge was very fair and their responsiveness was excellent. I would recommend J & H Plumbing to anyone and I will definitely use them for all my plumbing work in the future.
Description of Work: They replaced the outside faucet, installed a new water line shut-off valve and replaced the line entering the house.

 + -1 moreWe contacted J&H plumbing via e-mail and sent them photos of our current installation. They came back to us within a short period of time and said that they could do the job. We communicated with their very friendly and accommodating office a number of times via phone and set up an install date. Jesse arrived on time, he was very friendly, had all necessary parts and even brought a new pump for the just in case that the existing one would be defective. Sending them the photos had really translated into action on their end and had worked well. The install was fast and very clean and everything looked fine. Jesse at that stage also provided us with a quote in case our relatively old warm water heater would need to be replaced.The issues started when we by chance compared the before and after pictures, we noted that the pump now was installed the other way around and unfortunately we could not see the arrow on the pump housing which indicates the flow direction as this was on the side facing the wall. We contacted the office again and arranged for a new visit. Jesse came out and it turned out that the pump was mounted incorrectly and would have pumped water against the flow of the warm water heater. As a precaution we had not turned on the pump in the meantime which probably was prudent to do.
Description of Work: Replace the connections and isolation valves to warm water circulation pump.

Description of Work: We had a plumbing emergency when our bathtub faucet began gushing water in the off position. We called J&H Plumbing and spoke to a cheerful and helpful receptionist. She arranged for a plumber to arrive within two hours. Jesse showed up on time and enthusiastically guided us through the estimate. We had several other plumbing jobs that needed attention as well and he provided an accurate estimate of the cost involved: two toilets needed internal mechanisms replaced and the outdoor garden faucet / home water supply needed repair from the leaking. Jesse called us as promised in the morning and arranged for a time to do the work. The receptionist called us to advise us of his arrival time. Jesse came back equipped to spend hours working on our plumbing needs. He left midway to get a less expensive part for us and saved us at least $50. He did an excellent job completing the work: he always asked our permission if he had to change course on something; he worked cheerfully and efficiently; he didn't waste time gabbing, but he did give us ample information and education on why we needed what we needed; he finished the work and cleaned up his mess; he never complained about anything, but did his job in a very professional manner. He came into our home clean in appearance and left our home clean. We felt safe with him doing the job. He did timely and high quality work for us. We greatly appreciated his work. To review: Bathtub faucet removed, copper piping cut and spliced back together, new valve and fixtures installed Two toilets' internal mechanisms replaced Water intake to home repaired Garden faucet repaired $735.00 plus tax I would recommend that customers be notified in advance of the 3% service charge for using a credit card.

Description of Work: Two man team. Paul was on time and went right to work. Supervisor was late. Job was adding gas lines for dryer and stove. Involved cutting holes in utility room and kitchen to run new gas lines, Installing gas lines and testing. They found a leak in the hot water heater and Paul fixed it. Clean up could have been better. They do not offer a senior citizens or Veterans discount. Did an Angies List discount. I would call them again to do plumbing but would try to get better pricing.

 + -1 morePaul arrived right on time late in the day Friday as promised. We didn't expect him to replace it the same day, just thought this would be a first visit as required by the manufacturer to confirm it couldn't be repaired per the warranty. He confirmed it was leaking in a way that meant the tank was rusted so it couldn't be repaired. He placed the call to the manufacturer, handled getting their approval to replace, and then took care of the swap out at Home Depot. Paul completed the replacement by 6pm. My husband is very particular about how things are done and he was very pleased with the work including the way the repairman carefully worked the larger replacement water heater into place and the quality of the valves. Paul really knew what he was doing. He was very efficient, but also careful and the result is very high quality. We're definitely keeping J&H on the top of our list of go to folks for any future plumbing work. And will let our neighbors know, too. Their prices are quite reasonable and their quality is top notch. Our water heater replacement cost a little extra because Paul worked after 5pm (which is an extra charge), but we are happy to have it done and not have to worry about it or try to meet someone later.
Description of Work: Replaced a leaking water heater under warranty. No charge for the water heater, only for labor and for a couple of extras we had him include to allow for faster draining (recommended once every 6 months).

We also had an outside water tap that was leaking and he went outside to do something and he noticed that the tap was leaking and he fixed it and just charged us a little bit for it. I thought he was really good and we don't have a leak anymore. They were absolutely fantastic.

 + 1 moreFrom the very beginning when Jesse came over to do a free estimate I felt comfortable with him because of his knowledge, honesty, and openness regarding the water softener systems and the overall work that needed to be done in the kitchen, bathrooms, Laundry room, and garage. He was very thorough about how he would take care of us and explained everything in detail. We were impressed. He had completed all this work in less than 2-days time. He did nice work on the installs and plumbing repairs, including the soldering of the copper pipes! When it was all said and done we weren't sticker shocked with the total amount for all the work he had done.
Description of Work: 2-water softeners installed in rental homes. Fixed and replaced all pipes on utility tub drain in our garage. Installed new Kitchen Faucet with soap dispensor and brand new RO faucet. Removed old (apartment style) plumbing located behind both faucet handles in Master and half bath and had to use a diamond cutting tool to cut the stone on the wall in order to fix and replumb the assembly located in the shower and bathtub\shower. Replaced all shower and bathtub\shower fixtures including shower heads, drain plugs, and beautiful hot\cold adjustment faucet handles. Replaced all bathroom sink faucet fixtures. Replaced old leaky shut-off valves in both bathroom sinks. Replaced old rubber hose on wash machine and shut-off valves. Adjusted existing water softener to correct setting.

 + -1 moreI contacted J&H Plumbing at 2pm this afternoon; Ed [the man in the hotseat] turned up within 70 minutes. I had explained that we'd had no water since last night; there was a leak in the front yard, near the meter; and there is an enormous tree next to it. Furthermore, I had already dug down to a previous repair from five years ago [which was still holding]. Sadly this was a new leak and, by this afternoon, I was fed up with digging out soggy, clay-like, heavy dirt through tree roots. Jan in the office and Ed in the field were very professional [plus friendly & sympathetic]. All was finished in under two hours! I would use this company again in a heartbeat. The reason I didn't make the 'quality' comment was because the repair is only just finished. However, I'll be very surprised if there's a problem. Many Thanks! Iain Macdonald PS. Description of Work: Discovered a big leak yesterday [today is Monday]. Turned off the water and started digging. Had to leave it off overnight to allow the hole to drain. Recommenced digging today and found that I still couldn't get through the roots before running out of patience!!!
