I've had great service from Angie's List contractors so far. We are an older couple on a fixed income and haven't used any contractors in the Bullhead City AZ area and was worried about getting a good honest one. So went on Angie's and found ACAC Inc. I spoke with the woman at the office and the manager. She told me to make sure I look at the reviews. I did and it gave me peace of mind. They scheduled my appointment and the tech came the next day. Right on time. This guy was a great worker and extremely professional! Our unit is 27 years old and I realize it's nothing like the new ones, however we are snowbirds and it dosen't get used all that much. He went up on the roof 2 stories up and did all he had to. There was a hole in a membrane between duct work and AC unit. He put a good patch on it as well. He explained it is older, but still is working fine. He just suggested a service every year now. I couldn't tell you if it's ever been serviced. I know there are many contractors that would push hard to replace it. James the tech didn't even mention it. He explained for our lifestyle and amount of use it gets just keep it going. I gave our HOA officers their card and would highly recommend this company! I hope this helps others in the area. To many out here don't know where to turn for good contractors. Start with AorB rated ones on Angie's List, read the reviews and ask if they are B rated why? I read the bad reviews and also the response of the company.

They came through with only one small glich, which was not their fault. Due to the configuration one of the ducts could not be sealed without additional equipment. They scheduled a day to come back and finish and they were right on time, again. New units are really a huge improvement over the old ones. Plus the air quality in the house has really improved.

Provider responded promptly, sent quote via email. I signed contract proposal and sent back, along with a check for half of the cost, paid the remainder of cost on day of installation. I requested a detailed invoice, so that bargaining could be considered, but was told that was impossible; it was all or nothing. They would not tell how much the unit and labor each cost. We paid for a CO monitor that we didn't need, and a new thermostat that snaps when it turns on. (They said that noise was normal). I asked for a manual for the unit, but had to contact the manufacturer for one. The company said that the manufacturer doesn't want the consumer to work on unit, but to call a professional. I want to know what to look for, and the features of the unit. After installation there were black marks on floor, that my husband said were from duct cleaner, and one corner of the unit frame was connected improperly. Air Control responded two times that they did not bring any equipment into the house that made the marks, however later one worker told us that they did bring equipment into the house. We cleaned the thick greasy marks. After two weeks, we saw water flowing under the unit, and they replied that the unit was doing its job. They had not connected condensate drain to existing drain, as per contract, until repeated calls were made. By then, one exterior panel was damaged from water, and water had flowed onto ductwork below the a/c unit for three weeks. Panel was replaced, but they refused to replace the duct, unless customer removed the spiders under the house, and that there were no leaks from duct. Two weeks later, we discovered that a 6 inch square hole next to condenser unit had a rag stuffed in it. (it is behind a panel, so went unnoticed). Air flows out of the hole when unit is on, leaking from duct into the under floor space. Company stated that there were no air leaks under the unit when I visited their office on Sept. 8. In my opinion, their website advertised professionalism, but failed to deliver. Before their work, the A/c didn't leak. Are we expected to remove the spiders, and call them back again? They made two visits to our home to repair issues, but lied when questioned about leaks, and said nothing about the rag stuffed into hole that they created. Photos of the water damage and hole were taken. I would appreciate their response to our request to replace the duct.

The initial service man replaced a seized condensor motor.  A month later the heat pump quit working again.  The second service man found a bad electrical connection and, in a second call two hours later, found that the initial replacement was with a used motor that quit running when the outside temperature was too high (very common in Lake Havasu City).  He put in a new motor identical to the original OEM motor and fixed the problem.  He did not charge for the work because the intial replacement was warranteed.  I was very happy that they came out on short notice and did not charge for fixing the problem.  Unfortunately, the problem was due to using a faulty replacement motor and should never have happened.  Air Control service was expensive but they stand behind their work.

This company is by far the nicest people, and the price for new furnace and central air wasn't as bad as I had myself believing. They had the job done in no time at all. They even come back once a year and put in new filters at no cost to me. I can't say enough about this company. Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful.

my mother-in-law's  home is in Kingman, Arizona., I live in Michigan, so trying ti find a good company you can depend on, in my situation, seemed impossible.  Then I looked on Angie's list, for a heating & cooling guy, That's how I found                                                           "Air Control & Air Conditioning. So I got lucky twice, found Angie's list & now my friends Air Control & Air Conditioning
Kinda sounds like a dumb commercial hu,  But it's all true.

Response from Air Control Home Services
"[Member], We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and I am sincerely sorry that you are not happy with the work provided to you. I would, however, like to clarify a few things. We were contracted through Lowe’s for the installation of a new split gas electric system for your manufactured home. This contract, signed by you, specifically states that the new unit would be tied to existing ductwork. This is common practice by any air conditioning company in a retrofit application. During the original onsite estimate there was no need to inspect the duct system further, other than a basic visual inspection from the crawlspace, because you had no noted complaints about airflow from the existing heating system. I will also note that Aero Seal duct sealing was offered during this original estimate and declined. Once the installation was finished and the system tested, you signed a certificate of completion that all work was done to your satisfaction. About six days after installation, you called stating that there was an airflow issue. We sent the original Lead Installer out to inspect this complaint. During his inspection, by using a camera, he found an existing sheet metal supply duct that was partially collapsed. This duct was collapsed from the top down. Meaning that at some point the duct was damaged from the inside of the home and then covered up with new flooring. We explained to you that this was not an issue with the installation but instead an issue with the existing ducting located underneath your manufactured home. However, we completed the repair free of charge, in an effort to try to keep you happy. A short time later, we were contacted by Lowe’s and informed that you were still unhappy. At this time we scheduled another inspection of your home with the President of our company, our Lowe’s representative, and a Lowe’s Manager. This inspection was completed in August. When we arrived at the home, the system was off and the front door was open. We tested the system and found that in summer conditions, with six men inside the home, it was able to maintain 73 degrees. After this inspection Lowe’s found no fault with the installation. Lowe’s then offered to discount your new windows which you accepted. They also offered to help pay to have the Aero Seal completed but you declined. You continued to complain about the airflow and contracted another air conditioning company come out to inspect the ductwork. You contracted them to make modifications to the existing ductwork. This company’s invoice specifically states that the they modified an existing manufacturer duct connection and also noted that it was outside of our installation. The bill for that work was $650.00 which you were reimbursed for by Lowe’s. We were then notified by Lowe’s that you filed a complaint with Registrar of Contractors. An inspection was scheduled and two Air Control reps, three Lowe’s reps, and the Registrar Inspector met at your home. The representative from the Registrar of Contractors found no fault in our work, no fault in our installation, and no fault with Lowe’s. Lowe’s again offered to salvage your satisfaction by helping pay for Aero Seal which we also discounted but you declined for a third time. Again, I apologize that you are unhappy but, ultimately, I don’t know what more we could do. The equipment at your home is operating to specifications and your existing ducting was fixed free of charge. We really do thank you for your business and wish you well."

I had some problems with the AC people I had been using and
started searching for a new HVAC company and found Air Control Air
Conditioning, Inc through Angie’s list. The owner Jim Jensen and his son Jamie
came out and really gave us an education on heating and air conditioning. Jamie
did a manual J load calculation and determined we needed to downsize from a 4
ton to a 3 ton unit. I told Jim I was not happy with my current unit blasting
on and freezing me for about 6 minutes and then shutting off with a loud clunk
and then repeating the cycle. The old system was located outside the master
bedroom and was very loud and the return air located in the hallway was very
loud. Also the rooms in the house were all different temperatures and we were
getting a lot of dust in the house. He said that when units are being sized
that many of the salespeople and contractors do the sizing by a certain amount
of square footage requiring a rule of thumb of 1 ton so my house according to
this rule of thumb required a 4 ton unit. Once Jamie completed the J load
calculation they showed us how the 3 ton calculation was obtained. Many factors
are involved in this calculation such as where the house is sitting on the
property (north, south, etc), windows, walls, insulation, doors, etc…Jim explained
the why’s of things I was concerned about and assured my wife and I he could
solve all our concerns. He recommended the AEROSEAL duct sealing which seals
all the ducts from the inside and he recommended three different complete
systems. We chose the Trane Premium XV18i Variable Speed Heat Pump System.
The Trane XV18i was out of stock so they
upgraded us to the XV20i at no additional charge. The new system was installed
Thursday 6/19/2014 by Steve Stauffer, Adam Osgood and James Thomas. My wife and
I could not be happier. This new system is so quiet we cannot tell when it is
running, all rooms feel the same and the dust problem seems solved. Jim &
Jamie did exactly what they said they would do and solved all our concerns. This
was truly a very professional job and we highly recommend this company to
others.

I live in Northern Michigan at this time. My mother in law which is 83 year old is living in our home in Kingman, Az. I worry so much about her as she is elderly & lives there in state of Az. by herself. So when something like the furnace stopped working, I had no ideal who to call, I went to Angie's list got some good reviews on Air Control Air Conditioning, Inc . So I called them. So glad I went to Angie's list. This company is amazing is all I can say. They got out their in 2 1/2 hours. Made sure she was ok, and Fix the furnace. Only charged me the initial estimate charge. I can't say enough on how wonderful it is to have someone there to make sure everything is ok. I'm going to upgrade my furnace to a newer unit, as the one in their is over 20 years old. Jim the repair person was so nice he gave me the option on making due now for a while or fixing it for good. And the different ways we can go about it. Peace of mind goes a long way. And Jim as well as Karri in office are a God send. Thank you so much for being such amazing people, and a wonderful business that I can trust and rely on. These days that is a VERY rare quality in a business. I paid 70.00 for this visit. But will be spending more, and feeling safe and secure about it.

We used the property as a vacation house for past 4 years, every summer visit required some type of AC repair, had original HVAC system from 1993. Recently made the house our primary residence and decided to replace system. Selected 3 companies to quote, all were very professional during the process but found Air Control (Jim and Jamie) to be the most knowledgeable of how everything works together to provide an efficient system solution. In addition, Air Control was the only company certified by the equipment manufacturer (Trane) and Jim/Jamie were certified instructors with the majority of their staff being certified technicians. During their initial visit, they used software to model our house to estimate system size requirements based on size of house, number of window and types, wall thickness, insulation, current size/location of air return and duct sizes, how the sun hits house ... very cool stuff. |Received quotes from all 3 companies for two system types; 5-ton packaged heat pump single-stage and two-stage compressor. The equipment quoted was identical for all (apples to apples); system 1 varied by $1,000 between the 3 quotes and system 2 by $1,800. Air Control came in with the lowest quotes. They also included options on recommendations to improve the efficiency of the system; adding air returns to bedrooms and sealing/insulate all up ducts from removed swamp cooler (discussed with all 3 companies but only Air Control included in quote). We chose Air Control and were able to close on the details within a couple of days via phone and email. Installation was scheduled for the following week.|The technicians (2) arrived promptly at 8am on the scheduled day and completed all the work by early afternoon. They were very professional, courteous and very knowledgeable of what needed to be done and how to do the work. At various stages during the install, they took the time to explain what they were doing and why. We were pretty impressed with the care they took in and around the house, especially with keeping the work areas clean and final clean up before leaving. Also appreciate the foresight with the crane, they thought the first crane that showed up may damage the driveway, so a smaller crane was dispatched and used for the install. Overall the install went smoothly with no issues.|After a couple of days using the system we are impressed with the results. System is very quiet, temperatures are constant throughout the house and looks like the dust issue has been eliminated. Can hardly wait until summer to see how the system performs.|We are very happy (happy, happy) with Air Control and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.|
