Manny was on-time, did a thorough check of furnace (was amazed because it is so old), told us it really was working fine and didn't need any repair work.  He recommended better filters and suggested we get a carbon monoxide tester in the house because old furnaces sometimes put more carbon monoxide into the air.  He was professional, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable.  We would definitely use him again.

I had an AC stop blowing cold air. I called Manny and fortunately he was able to fit me in the same day. He took a look at it and determined it was a bad motor. He replaced that one and a motor on another unit since they were the same age and the other one was probably on its last legs.
This is the second time I've used Manny. He's always been professional and responsive. He even called me today to follow up and see how my AC's were doing. Above all, I feel I can trust his judgment and that he won't try to sell me new equipment unnecessarily. Since my ACs were over 10 years old, I inquired about getting a new AC vs. just replacing the motor. After running the numbers his advice was that it wasn't worth it to get a new unit...just replace the parts and it'd be cheaper for me.

I've used Manny's several times over the past few years and they are always prompt and professional. No matter the service, Manny always makes sure that I understand the maintenance that they are performing and am aware of what the costs are up front. I purchased their service package on one of the prior services and didn't realize that I still have a mainentance/service under that package. When Manny came out to do an annual service this year, he reminded me that it was already paid for under the previous service package - that's what I call honest. I would recommend Manny to any of my friends or coworkers.

I paid this company the full estimated price to fix my 3 swamp coolers. They were all up and running, and then the next day one of the 3 stopped working. I called him the next day to come out and fix the problem, and he said I would need to replace it and that it wouldn't be covered with what I had already paid him for the job. I'm concerned the other two may stop working also, and I don't feel I should have to pay more money for his error. He should stand by his estimate if he made the mistake, even if it costs him.

Update: After I spoke with the boss of the company, he refused to fix the problem or give me my money back. He claimed that it was a different problem and that I needed a new motor for that particular unit that was broken. He would not offer me any discount and I still have to get the problem fixed.

The job that we performed was at a transmission shop that had sat vacant for 3 years. At the time of service we repaired everything that we found wrong. That consisted of the pumps, floats, pads, belts. The motor looked good at time of evaluation. We did not touch the motor so we feel that we should not have to warranty it, And as far as not putting it down on the estimate the motor by what we could see looked good. This repair was done on an occupied rental unit of which I am the owner. The tenants called after the first warm weekend of the year to say that the a/c was on but not blowing cold air. I live on the other side of town so would be dealing with the problem mostly by phone with the tenants being present for the actual work. I had called another company originally to get an estimate and repair. I was not happy with the attitude of the other person and wanted a second opinion. First I called Manny just to see if he could tell me if the price I was quoted for what the other company said was wrong seemed accurate. He was really patient and kind and looked up the information and explained everything thoroughly. He then offered a quote for what he would charge for the same service. I really liked him as he seemed very honest, forthright and reasonable so decided to have him give me a second opinion and do the work. The only complaint I have is that he is busy and scheduling was a little tricky. I had the added concern of my tenants wondering what was happening and when. I'm sure he got irritated with me but he never showed it. He even bumped up the final repair date. The serviceman who performed the work was very professional. He arrived on time and completed the work quickly and thoroughly. I felt the price was very reasonable. Once he got into the actual repair there was another small part broken that he replaced at no charge. I would definitely call him again and recommend this company!

They had given me an estimate before they did the work. Everything was on track. They did have to come back to change a certain item. Everything seemed to work out fine. It was done in a rental property. They took care of the problem and I had no complaints. They did the work as described and they did just fine. Everything was on par. The problem wasn’t fixed initially but they ultimately got back there and took care of it. The price was reasonable but it didn’t stand out and it was appropriately priced.

I was impressed with Manny from our first meeting. He was always polite and punctual, and he and his crew came at the time they said they would. In our first meeting when he quoted the job to me, he took off his shoes unprompted because he saw we had wood floors. He was very patient in taking the time to explain the federal tax credit as well as what options we had to take advantage of it. I also had questions about some other problems I had with my heating and he took a look around in the attic and was able to posit potential solutions. I'm pretty careful about protecting my (newly-installed) wood floors, and he and his crew put down protective tarps when they had to place the ladder on the floor. They also wore booties in the house. I appreciated their thoughtfulness. He and his crew are first-rate and I definitely would use them again.

After a few initial schedule conflicts, we finally arranged a time when they could come over to look at the system. Once they arrived they quickly diagnosed the problem and I had a working AC that afternoon. Everything is working well now, and I'm a lot cooler when it's 115 outside.

They were able to come in just 48 hours after we called which was great since the A/C unit was just making noise and not actually not working. They did say that they would be here between 3-5pm, but at 5:15pm we still had not heard from them and had to call. They then said they would be there by 7pm, which is when they did show up. They did fix it that night in the dark and gave us a discount for them being late. All that being said, they were very nice and friendly and I would use them again.

I called several other companies to come out when my a/c unit went out in the mid-July. Manny's was the only one that didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. There prices were less than any of the others companies also. Oh...they even gave me a discount for mentioning "Angie's List". The work started and was completed on time. Very punctual and honest. :) It was very good experience doing a very long and hot summer week in mid-July.

Manny sent a service tech. Out to service our heating/cooling unit for the 1st time since we bought our home. Maintenance was performed and he measured for filters because I couldn't find any online or in a store. The filters are an odd size and the prev. Owners had 1 in there that didn't fit. The filters were made and shipped, from Chicago I believe, but they were the incorrect size. Remeasured again, no charge for the 1st shipment, and we received the correct filters. Manny is always polite and returns calls himself within the day. We will continue to use his co.

Technician came at the last minute that he said he would (1:00 pm - 3:00 pm and he showed up at 2 minutes before 3:00). He took the original part back to the shop with him and still replaced it with the wrong part. He left the old parts laying in the yard and left broken drills and a mess on the roof.

"THE MEMBER'S UNIT WAS VERY OLD AND THE PARTS CO. GAVE US WHAT THEY FELT WAS THE BEST MATCHED MOTOR & BLOWER CAGE FOR THAT PARTICULAR UNIT. HIS UNIT WAS SO OLD THAT THE BLOWER WHEEL WOULD NOT COME OFF SO WE COULD NOT TAKE IT TO THE PARTS STORE TO PHYSICALLY MATCH IT UP. AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW BLOWER WHEEL THE MEMBER FELT THAT IT DID NOT COOL TO HIS LIKING SO WE IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO HIS HOME AND LOOKED INTO SEVERAL WHOLESALE STORES TO FIND A BETTER MATCHED BLOWER AND CAGE. THE WHEEL WAS A SLIGHT BIT BIGGER, BUT IT DID WORK. WE DO APPOLIGIZE ABOUT OUR REP LEAVING PARTS AT THE HOME, BUT WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED UNITL NOW ABOUT THAT, AND THE REP DID GET REPREMENDED FOR NOT PICKING UP AFTER HIMSELF. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND WE DO NOT TAKE THAT LIGHTLY. I'M SORRY THE MEMBER FEELS THE WAY HE DOES, BUT WITH SUCH AN OLD UNIT THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH THAT CAN BE DONE TO GET THE UNIT TO COOL EFFICIENTLY, WITHOUT REPLACING IT. WE ALSO DO GIVE A TWO HOUR TIME FRAME IN WHICH WE WILL SHOW UP, AND ALTHOUGH WE MAY HAVE CAME CLOSER TO 3PM WE DID STILL SHOW UP WITHIN THE TIME FRAME PROMISED."

Manny's service techs were particularly busy so Manny himself came out to do the work. He was courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem, left to secure the needed part, and returned to finish the job. He was careful to clean up after the job was done. He offered to leave me the old circuit board. He deducted the ''Angie's List'' discount from his original quote. I highly recommend Manny's Heating and Cooling.

The routine service person was quiet, and I had to prompt him a lot to explain his work. I had to specifically request him to service the heating portion of the unit. The person who replaced the electrical cord was fine, but he did not have the invoice with him, so they had to mail it to me.
