I called Christian Brothers Plumbing when the initial company (Patrick Reiley Plumbing) canceled an hour and 15 minutes inside the window for their service. I was lucky to reach Christan Brothers Plumbing and they told me they could be at my home inside 30 minutes. Glenn arrived and went right to work. He was so personable and got the job done and the drain cleared quickly. Thanks, Christian Brothers and Glenn!

They were terrible. They gave me a bid that was off the charts. I had just lost my husband and they tried to charge me $5000 to fix an air conditioner. They gave me a bid. They gave me three options. They said if option one doesn't work, they'd credit what I paid and I could do option two. And if that didn't work, the same thing. They said that my air conditioner was so old I should probably just get it replaced. I have an neighbor who is a retired commercial contractor. He brought in his heating man. He shook his head and said the first two options would not have identified the problem. He said you don't replace an air conditioner that is only eight years old. I was extremely disappointed on what they were trying to do to me. Punctuality - They had no problem coming out here to give me a bid. They had no problem offering their services right away. They were taking advantage of a brand new widow.

The technician promptly came out assessed the situation but gave me a quote of $440 for this simple repair. This company is expert at ripping people off. I called another company and they fixed it for $150 total in 5 minutes.

Mike came out to service my A/C unit today and I must say that I can't remember the last time I received such exceptional customer service. He was extremely thorough in checking out both my units including the part in the attic and even took pictures to be able to show me different things that needed attention and explained everything in detail. My unit is 15 years old and very noisy. I know it is just a matter of time before it quits on me, but Christian Brothers has kept it running strong this long. Mike was not pushy at all, but I appreciated his advice and will be replacing my unit with Christian Brothers!

I almost made it through the summer...but my 15 year old a/c unit finally quit on me. Mike arrived quickly which I really appreciated as it was getting hot in here. He was extrexemly polite, professional, and informative.

Thank you Jeff and Leo! I just had a minor repair (leaky toilet) and Jeff took the time to show me the problem and explain what could be done to fix it. I felt like he took his time with me and wasn't rushing to get to his next call. For the service I received, I thought the price was very fair for the work that was done.

The install at the condo was very professional. My Mom lives in the unit and is elderly. Her toilet had quit and I figured it was time for a total replacement. I was out of town. The service tech arrived and quickly called me with two reasonable estimates; one for a regular toilet and one for a pressure assisted toilet. He quoted me $600 and change which came to $705 when he was complete with the job. Everything was handled perfectly. To be fair, this experience with Christian Brothers was and A or a B. Its the second experience explained below that causes my grade for them to be a D.

Several months later, I thought it would be good to have similar toilets installed at my house. I called and asked if Christian Brothers would discount the cost if I did all three. The person on the phone said they would send a tech out and I could discuss a discount with him. The next day the tech arrived, I explained how I had recently paid for a pressure assisted toilet at my condo in the $600 range and asked if I could get a similar deal or less. I was under the assumption the dispatcher had pulled the details from our condo transaction and the tech was aware. He was not. He asked what type of toilet it was, resulting in me driving to the condo to get the toilet details. Twenty minutes late, when I came back the tech took the information and suggested I could get my own toilets and he could install them at a discounted price. This seemed promising as it would allow me to find a nice style.

While I went and surfed HomeDepot's website, he wrote up four price options ranging from $1800 to install toilets I provided to $3200 to install their toilets with a new shut off valve and supply line. Keep in mind, if I went to Home Depot and picked up pressure assisted toilets, they are going to cost a minimum of $200 each. This is where it went sideways. I pointed out that all of the options were significantly more expensive than what they had charged me for one toilet and this made no sense. I politely asked the tech to leave as this was just silly. He asked for me to talk to the manager.

The manager said he could do $650/toilet installed, but not a supply line and valve. He wanted another $100 for this. Again, I pointed out that they had done one toilet at my condo for less than this price he was offering, although this was more in the range I had anticipated. I then pointed out that to charge me $100 extra for a valve and supply line (about $10-$15 in parts at Home Depot) for parts that literally screw off and on was silly. The Manager then began a silly explanation about "liability." It was insulting to say the least.

It was at this point I knew the two people I had been dealing with were deceptive. I politely declined. As the tech was leaving, he said, "Its too bad, because I was about to do it for $1,200 total" ($400/toilet). I paused and said, "Well, you should have offered that price in the first place, please go." In all reality, he was full of sh*t. Just one more ploy before he left.

Great Company... Great Personnel
This company came to us very highly recommended and we met with their top service manager, Mike Edwards and then with a service/sales person, Jon Temper and between the 2 of them we were convinced that we were making the correct decision to replace both of our units for top of the line Carrier units. We ran into a bump during install when both units were placed on our roof with wrong models. I didn't pick up on it until the crane had left and called it to the attention of CB. They immediately ceased everything and within 2 hours had the correct units delivered and the crane back and they stayed until 10:30 that evening completing the install. Everyone is capable of making an error but it is how they deal with it and correct it that defines the culture of that company and CB passed with flying colors... They also cleaned our ducts the next day and all personnel involved were outstanding. Install was ramrodded by Ron Miles... very dedicated, knowledgeable.. his asst was Donny Washington who also did yeoman work. Duct cleaning was done by a young man, Aspen Schroeder and assisted by Eric. Very clean job and well done. George Banks came in at the end and tied everything up with his spot on assessments of the issues of wiring the new Wi Fi thermostats and his final quality control. Over all AWESOME job and we highly recommend them for anyone looking to upgrade their AC's. This also showed us how they will be in the future to deal with as we go forward with the maintenance. Thank You ! By the way, the 2-stage units are working as good if not better than you said they would.

They're excellent in service. They are very upfront and I feel they're very trustworthy. I pay $140.00 a year for full service for my air conditioner. That includes two service calls, my parts are still under warranty. They check to make sure everything is working and change the filters. They had to replace a part in it at one point, but didn't charge for labor.

Service was performed. Tech was polite but I think the service was actually overpriced.  checked three units only one actually needed some coolant.

The plumber arrived on time and was cordial.  He figured out the estimate, but I thought it was rather expensive (it was also a more powerful disposal); however, I did need the disposal installed given it was the holidays.  He changed out the disposal and did ask if I had any other issues.  He did clear out my bathroom sink drain, which had been running slowly, "free of charge", but I felt that it should have been included since the bill was so expensive already.   After he left I looked online to find the price of the disposal and the company had overcharged me significantly.  I felt ripped off.  I would not use this company again.

They were hired to fix our shower and came with their "flat pricing" (which is hailed as a consumer benefit, but really skews to their favor every time).
They "fixed" the shower and left only for us to discover it was still inoperable. Upon calling them back they accused us of breaking it.

The garbage disposal was replaced quickly and correctly.  However, the price was absolutely outrageous.  I was out of town at the time so my father coordinated the repairs and I only learned the details after the fact.  The replacement disposal was a low grade model that sells at Home Depot for $70-$80 and my brother informed me that it takes about 15-20 minutes to replace a disposal (I subsequently watched him replace his own garbage disposal and it is a VERY quick & simple job).  They charged me over $500 for the job which is as close to outright theft as you can get without sticking a gun in somebody's face and robbing them!
Thank God for Angie's List so dishonest companies like this can be reported.

After I decided to go with Christian Brothers I called Jon back and he had an install team here the next day to do the work. The team was very respectful, they wore orange booties so they didn't track anything into my house and they were done in about 4 hours. I do believe that you get what you pay for, could I have went with a cheaper unit, sure! But for my money I think I got a great deal with a company that has a live operator 24 hours a day if my unit ever goes out.

A company representative came to my mom's house because she had a running toilet.  She is elderly and not able to repair things herself.  I knew it was an easy job and just required the water fill device be replaced.  The part cost $10.00 at Walmart.  The representative gave us 2 prices:  one for members and one for non members.  You pay to become a yearly member.  Since I just wanted the leaking toilet fixed, i declined the paid membership.  The cost came to $193.00 and that was with a discount because i had a coupon.  It took the plumber five minutes to complete the job.  He also wanted to charge a $29.99 on time charge, which i refused to pay.  He then proceeded to try to sell other services and other products which I was not interested in and told him so ( such as a new water heater or reverse osmosis water).  I think the representatives must work on commissions, but i am not sure.  Anyway, the service was too expensive for what was done and I will not use that company again or refer anyone else to the company.  I did not have access to angies list at my mom's house.  I have given her one of my monthly magazines which have a lot of angies list advertisements that may be useful for her in the future.  My mother's name is different from mine and she has a different address.  I will be glad to give you both if you need it.

First, the technician was over an hour late. Then he had to come back the next morning to complete this job.. He reattached the filter to the wall and replaced the cold water copper line. I felt like I had been taken advantage of. The bill was outrageous.

Got home from work to find the AC not working...ugh. Called Christian Brothers at 6:05 pm and was told someone would be here between 7 and 9 pm. The technician arrived at 7:15 pm and was very pleasant and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly and while he didn't have the replacement motor with him he promised to be back first thing in the morning. Okay, to me 11:00 isn't exactly "first thing", but he was once again very nice to work with. The motor was replaced and cool air blowing within 30 minutes. I have used this company a number of times and have consistently been pleased with the level of service I received. While I could probably get the job done a little cheaper, it has been worth it to me to pay a little more for feeling I can trust that they will get here when they say they will, do the job well and be professional and courteous.
