 + -1 moreCalled several companies from Angie's since i have never had to transport a car. One came in at 1300 and Parker came in at 650. By previous reviews of excellant I choose Parker. they picked up the car from my house on the day and time promised. The did however deliver the car 1 full day late in Texas due to problems which I understtod when I hired them that this could happen. Since I was in Texas for a week It was ok. No problems with and had same deliver person drop off the car as picked it up.
Description of Work: A car was transported from a house in Greendale WI to a house in San Antonio Texas.

 + -1 moreThe two C's were not for Parker per se, but for the transport company they contracted to do the job. That company gave a pickup date, but didn't show up and didn't call to reschedule. So a lot of waiting for nothing. I had to call Parker to get some answers and they were responsive and helpful. The same thing happened on delivery. A simple phone call would save a wasted day. The car was delivered safely and with no damage. So the actual transport was fine. Why would I use Parker again? Because they were great to work with. However, when they contract with another transport company for the job, I will check that compamy out carefully - reviews, etc. and then tell Parker yes or no.

Description of Work: I hired Parker Auto Transport company to take my car from Massachusetts to Tucson, Arizona. Joanne made it very easy. I followed her instructions, she located a driver, he called to let me know when he'd be coming and where he would meet me. It was very close to my home. He then arrived a day early on the other end which was fine with me. All in all it was a pleasure doing business with them. I found this company on Angie's list. Because I've had no previous experience with shipping a car, I wanted to learn from other people's experience and all the comments I read about Parker Auto made me confident that I had chosen the right company.

 + -1 moreIt went very smoothly. The married couple, Susan and her husband met me in a large parking lot near my house. Susan and I drove my truck back to my house, she dropped me off, and drove the truck back to their rig. They had two more vehicles to pick up in San Antonio and deliver to the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. They pick up our truck on a Tuesday and delivered it on Thursday. Again, they parked their rig in a large parking lot, drove the truck to our house, and my husband drove her back to their rig. Both the dispatch gal, Joanne, and the driver, Susan, were excellent at communicating and answering questions. I don't know how the price compares to other companies. I just trusted Angieslist!
Description of Work: Our truck was picked up in San Antonio and delivered to Bradenton, Florida, which is near St. Petersburg.

 + -1 moreMy car was picked up on a Friday and delivered all the way across the country on Wednesday. They promised 7-9 days and did so much better than that! I kind of can't believe how fast it showed up. I was pretty nervous about giving my car up, and read so many horror stories about companies that leave people in limbo for day after day. But this was amazing. The dispatcher and driver gave me great updates and showed up right on time as agreed. If I ever know anyone who needs a car moved, I will certainly recommend them.

The driver who drove the truck that transported my car was great . He did a good job transporting my car. It was picked up and dropped off on time and in good condition. This is a good company. I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I contacted Parker Auto Transport because I saw their great ratings on Angie's List. Many positive comments about Joanne Parker. They were all accurate. She is exceptional! Within 1.5 hours Joanne had communicated with me via phone and e-mail several times to make sure all documents were correct and she had a driver name and dates and times all finalized. She is very professional and a pleasure to work with. Dennis from Enclosed Vehicle Transport,Inc. called my son in FL 24 hours before arriving to pick up his car and then again an hour or two before. My son was very pleased with Dennis and felt confident having Dennis transport his car back to us in Ohio. 24 hours, 2 hours and 15 minutes before delivery, Dennis contacted us and had our car off the truck and the heater on when we arrived at our meeting spot to pick it up.

Description of Work: I had to transport my vehicle to my home. When searching for a provider I was looking for someone that can do door to door service which they did offer. The price was less expensive than the other companies that didn't offer door to door service.

 + -1 moreI inspected the car personally myself before delivery. The owner sent me photo's of the car and alos gave me all the damages. I arranged the car to be inspected by a mechanic. he went over all the damages and rust spots over the phone. he never said anything about scratches on the car. When I received the car, the driver called me to let me know they couldn't deliver the car to my home. He said that we could meet some where else for pick up. When I got there I looked at the car and I saw some scratches. The car was picked up from the seller and they did an inspection and wrote it all down. They gave me a copy of the paperwork when I picked the car up. There were scratches all over the car. I pointed out the damage to the car to the driver and they said there was nothing they could do. I talked to Joanne who is the broker for the company. The form that I received and the form that was left with the seller are 2 different forms. Each copy was from a different company and the scratches on each form are different. Looks like when the car left the seller there was more damage done between point A and B. The car was out of gas, so it looks like the car has been driven.

 + -1 moreFrom the beginning, Joanne was easy to work with, prompt and made sure I was kept informed. Pickup and delivery dates were as promised. Here is the best of the total experience. We knew we would take several weeks in our RV to get to our new AZ home so asked each broker how they would handle this. The response ranged from dont know or care to charging substantial storage fees. When I asked Joanne the storage question I was surpised and pleased with her answer; she stored it at her home in Mesa, AZ for us for FREE!! In addition to her obvious dedication to custumer satisfaction, she also had the lowest price; a winning combination.

 + -1 moreAlthough, I had asked for a quote a couple of weeks in advance of the ship date of my car it was hard to find a trucker headed to Sactamento area at that time. She was very prompt whenever I tried to contact her and she constantly kept me updated about the status of my shipment. She tried to find a trucker to the last moment and she was successful. I would highly recommend this company for car move for Tucson , Phoenix area
Description of Work: Joanne Parker , the contact person for this company is very polite, helpful and diligent. She left no stone unturned till she found a trucker at the last moment to ship my car to California. Thanks to her that we did not have to drive our car to the destination.

 + -1 moreParker did a fantastic job!! I couldn't be happier with them. Their pricing was about $600 less than another Angie's List member. I was a little skeptical going with the lowest price, but I did and was thrilled. Their communication was great throughout the entire process. They assigned the job to Lighthouse Transport. Dave was the driver. He called at least 4 different times to let me know when he would pickup the car in Florida and when he would arrive in Minnesota. He was great to work with. Beside being a good driver, he's just a nice guy. He arrived in Minnesota a day ahead of schedule. The car was in perfect condition. I would recommend Parker anytime.

 + -1 moreI chose Parker Auto Transport becase their quote was $200 less than any other quote I received. I should have known better than the level of service would be poor. Most of this was due to the auto transport company that was subcontracted, Arlene's Transport. I was given an estimated pick-up date with a 2 day window but pick-up was done 4 days later, leading to a late delivery as well. This caused an additional expense of renting a car longer than I expected. However, my greatest disappointment was that the auto transport company did not provide an update as to the status of the car, even after I left a message with them. To make things worse, I had to call Joanne Parker who then called Arlene's; the representative at Arlene's flat out lied to her and said she had spoken to me when she hadn't. Additionally, instead of apologizing for the delay, Joanne made excuses for everything. Finally, to top it all off, the condition of my car at delivery was not the same as pick-up. The tires were flat, which is an easy fix, but there was a dent in the hood of my car that was not there previously. I will never use Parker Auto Transport again nor recommend them to anyone. I tried to save money but will end up spending more because of the rental car expense and the damage to my car.

 + -1 moreCommunications with Joanne were good. She returned calls within 24 hours. We asked for pick up between 8/27 and 8/29 and the sub contractor (Cypress Auto transport) called on the Friday before to say they would be there Monday. They showed up on time and thoroughly inspected the car. During transport, the truck broke down (from other reports, this appears to be a common occurence!) and parts needed to be obtained, delaying transport by 2 days. The shipper provided updated information and the delivery was accomplished efficiently. Car was in the same condition as when it left CA. I would recommend Parker and Cypress.

 + -1 moreContracted with Parker because of Angie's List. Price was as good or better than any. Parker subbed out to American Auto Transport. Driver was supposed to call 24 hours before to arrange pickup, in a 2 day window. Day one came and went. Calls to American were answered with assurances driver would be calling. Next day, 4 calls to American, same answer until 2:30, when they said he was in the shop, and would be coming 2 days hence...for sure. Since we were leaving the state that day, that wasn't going to happen at all. Calls all day to Parker went unanswered or returned. I made arrangements in a hurry and at greater cost with another company. Emailed Parker asking for explanation and refund. Joanne emailed that she was in the ER with food poisoning that day. She did issue a refund. I'm sorry she had food poisoning; I appreciate the refund; but we were left totally without a contact and with no hope of the car being moved. I still don't have the car; the other company's driver is "a little behind". Not an industry I'd care to deal with again.
Description of Work: Contracted to move car; driver didn't show, so it never happened. We did get a refund.

 + -1 moreWe found Parker Auto Transport on Angie's List, asked for a quote, and received a prompt response. With their quote as well as several others, we selected them to handle the transport. Parker hired Car Go Auto Transport to handle the actual move. The Car Go driver was great, offering ideas and concerns about the height of trees in our neighborhood so that our minivan would not be damaged. The Car Go driver arrived on time (actually a day earlier than expected) and the minivan was in great shape.
Description of Work: We purchase a minivan in Houston and needed it transported to our daughter at Fort Drum NY.

 + -1 moreWe used Parker Transport because of the good reviews. We contacted them and heard back from Joanne with a quote. We decided to go with them, and anytime I called or emailed, they responded promptly and courteously. Our car was picked up a day early, but was not a problem for us. It was delivered a day later than expected, so we called Joanne and she got back with us and the driver called right after her. We had our car two hours later. It arrived in the same condition as it left. Their quote was right in the ball park of a few, and way lower ( $400-700) than some. We would use them again.

Description of Work: I hate to actually give Parker a bad review since Joanne did a nice job on her end. However, I cannot find their subcontractor, Orbit Auto Transport, on here so I have to place responsibility with the broker, Parker Auto Transport. All went relatively well in the beginning. Joanne scheduled pick up of my car in Maryland on August 27, 2012. The driver called and said he'd be there between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. He arrived around 2 p.m. and picked up my car. Joanne estimate delivery of my car in California on September 6, 2012. I started calling Orbit on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 to see if my car was still scheduled for delivery on Thursday, September 6, 2012. They guy I talked to couldn't locate my order and seemed totally out of it. When he finally located it, he said the car might not arrive until Saturday, September 8, 2012. I told him that was unacceptable as I needed my car before the weekend. The driver called me on Thursday, September 6, 2012 and said he would deliver the car by noon on Friday, September 7, 2012. It is now 3:15 p.m. on Friday and I have no car. I spoke to the driver who was rude and told me he try to deliver my car tonight or maybe tomorrow or maybe the next day. I am furious. I called the dispatcher at Orbit again and left a message. He called me back and told me I didn't understand the trucking business. I told him I didn't care to understand the trucking business - I just want my car. I just left a message for Joanne...still waiting to hear from her. We'll see if she can fix this situation. Oh, the best part was how the dispatcher told me I'd have to be patient because the driver was delivering to very important clients in Beverly Hills...I guess you only get good service if you live in Brentwood!!! UGH!!

The driver was punctual at the time of pickup and was actually early on the delivery. The vehicle came through fine. There were no hassles or unexpected negative events of any kind. Joanne's communications were professional and well-timed. All in all, the event was a definite success. I would definitely use these folks again, and would recommend them to others as well. Well done!

 + -1 moreOverall a good experience. Joanne was great to work with and followed up well. We had a slow start with the contracted driver . He was two days later than the estimated pickup date. I do realize its an estimated date but we were leaving the morning after the car finally got picked up so we were getting anxious. Delivery on the other hand was early and the driver was most courteous. Always wish you didn't need to spend this much. We didn't taket the lowest bid based upon reviews here. If I ship again, I'll call Parker again.
