They were very good. The price was good. It was one of the better prices and very competitive. They had good communication. I had a lot of questions beforehand and they had someone to answer them. They were prompt. The car arrived in good condition and exactly on time.

I called the company and Joanne Parker, the owner and she was very hospitable to what I needed. The timetabale that I needed to be in was very well obtained by Parker Auto Transport LLC. The driver was very professional and arrived within eight minutes of the time that they let me know. On top of all this, the price that they offered was around $300 cheaper than anyone else I called. I would definitely suggest anyone else to use this company.

We hired Parker Transport to ship our 328 BMW from Portland Oregon to our daughter attending school in Houston Texas. Joanne at Parker Transport was professional and prompt. After having a full inspection of the car done in Portland (Kuni BMW service department where the car has been meticulously maintained) we made sure the car was in tip top shape (new brakes, new tires, work done). They did a full inspection and we spent $3600 making sure everything was perfect. We drove the car to the transport location (Sunrise Trucking or something like that on Columbia Blvd). The fellow was nice and helpful. The car was parked in the muddy lot and we left. The car was to be loaded on the carrier to next day and leave for Texas (this was Tuesday). The car arrived in Houston Texas on Sunday afternoon. Our daughter met the driver near her school. The truck driver was driving the BMW car. My daughter did a visual inspection and the car was completely filthy. The windows were not even clean enough to see out. She cleaned off the window and drove one block to school. The car was not driving well and making a growling tire noise like it had a flat or something. It also smelled like burning rubber. The car had to be towed to a local dealership and they diagnosed a broken wheel bearing. The towing company told my daughter it appears the car had been taken out four wheeling in the mud (?). The dealership fixed the car for $720. When we called Parker Transport they told us the insurance claims only covers cosmetic things like paint - if the shock or wheel bearing are broken its not their fault. Scary - Buyer be aware.

[Member name removed], I am sorry that your wheel bearing was worn out. A wheel bearing wears out over time, it does not happen over night. Your vehicle is a 1999 BMW. Wheel bearings are not a visible item that that can inspected unless taken apart so Kuni Bmw would not have inspected this item nor known if it was bad. When vehicles are transported, they arrive very dirty. This is common. As for taking your 1999 BMW out and 4 wheel driving with it, Not only does the driver not have time for something like that but why would he do something like that to tarnish his reputation. This is how he makes a living and supports his family. I hope your daughter enjoys her time in Texas and wish you all the best ~ Joanne

These people are not actually auto transporters they are just the middle men that go and find stuff for truckers that have their own trucks and stuff. They don't have trucks or anything, they just depend on people and they get a hold of the truck driver so it works that way. They did good but it wasn't really wasn't what I thought it was at the beginning. I wasn't sure, I went over, they picked it up off of I-45 in the spring. I called over and they wouldn't come to the house to pick it up. I went over to a Wal-Mart parking lot for them to pick it up. I have no proof of how much they used my car that weekend because I had a half a tank of gas in it and when it got there my son said there wasn't hardly any gas in it. The 2 guys that had the truck I think they might have used it a little bit that weekend because they didn't leave until Monday and they got our car Saturday afternoon. I don't know, it is one of those things that you can't prove, but I did complain to the lady that had sent me her name. She said, well, I've never had any problems like that before, but if that is what they did I won't use them again. When they took the car off of the truck and took the car to my son they said that someone had stolen the ramps that they get had to get the car on and off with so they had put up boards to back it off on and the boards slipped out and the car fell down. I just wasn't thrilled with the whole thing. My son couldn't find anything as far as damage. They didn't take it to a place that was safe to take it off, they were out on the road by the airport where there was traffic. They just didn't use their heads.

Communication with the Parker Transport company was prompt and complete. The company acts as a broker and contacts an available transport vehicle contractor to fulfill the job. Though our transport was to take 24 hours, there were problems. The contractor was stopped mid transport by the Department of Transportation to complete/ or meet equipment standards [appropriate tires] in order to continue as a transport contractor and to complete the transport of our vehicle. Both the driver and the transport company were empathetic and maintained constant contact in order to get the vehicle delivered at the earliest possible opportunity. Though I was disappointed that the agreed upon deadline was not met, I was impressed with the desire of the transport driver, in particular, to make the delayed delivery as easy on my wife and myself as possible, which included him driving the vehicle a part of the way to get it to us. Particularly because of how this company handled adversity, is the reason that I would use them again AND recommend them to others.

My elderly, but very active parents had originally made arrangements with another service to transport their auto from Massachusetts to Tucson, AZ. They flew to AZ and I was left here in Ma to follow up with getting their car shipped. I made numerous calls to the other transport service and really got the run around. Getting a little suspicious, I googled them and found nothing but terrible terrible reviews, including an "F" from the better business bureau. I went to angies list and did a search for highly rated transport services. There were 3 with excellent ratings, so I sent off quotes to each of them. Parkers quote was in the middle of the range, but they were also the most responsive, so I went with them. What an excellent choice! Joanne was easy to work with and prompt with answering an questions. Leo, the driver, was on top of things and was very good with giving us updates on when the car would be picked up. He was very courteous and I felt relieved when he pulled away with their car in tow. It arrived in AZ a couple of days earlier than quoted. We will always use Parker for any future car transport needs.

We have used Parker Auto transport twice and have been happy with our experience both times. One thing to realize is that Parker is a broker. They do NOT do the transporting themselves but are the agent who makes the connection for you with the transporter. Each time the bid was reasonable. The service occurred within a week of when we desired the car to be transported and the car arrived without any difficulty.

Parker was very responsive via e-mail and phone. They offered to pick up the car a few days earlier than I requested, which worked out better for me. The Danimax Inc. driver was accurate on his estimated delivery time and communicated well in advance of the actual pick up and delivery times. Though the price went up slightly do to high demand at the last minute Parker kept to their contract rate. The car was delivered with no damage or theft of items in the car.

Driver made exception to load my vehicle on eve of my departure, was courteous and focused on the experience, if a bit road weary. He was appointed by Parker Transportation, after a few phone calls to secure the pickup and delivery. The vehicle was delivered on schedule, just a few miles from my residence, where it was convenient for the driver to off load. This was my first such experience and I would rate it an A- overall with the possibility of arranging a delivery such as this in the future. I would use Parker's services first. driver

Because of the splendid ratings I read on Angie?s List, I called Parker Trucking to move my 2002 Jaguar from San Antonio, TX to Winston Salem NC on a covered transport. The car was picked up on June 21. The driver was personable, loaded the car efficiently, backing it into the very front of the trailer (placement was important) and said he would deliver the car on Mon. June 25. On June 25 late in the afternoon I called the driver on his cell phone to see when he would be arriving. Answering, he said ?there is a problem?. On June 23 (2 days earlier), he drove on an unapproved road in Sycamore GA, got stuck on a railway track, got out of the cab, and tried calling 911, but the transport trailer and the cars in it was HIT BY A TRAIN ? 5 minutes later. As soon as I was told about the accident I called Joanne Parker, (who was not aware of the crash) to see what could be done. She initially said my dealings with her were completed, and I should discuss my concerns with the driver. Later she wrote, "This is a very unfortunate situation for all parties involved. We are trying to do what is right for everyone involved and make the best of the situation. Thank you in advance for understanding and working with us". (Quote: Joanne Parker July 3, 2012). I can only speculate that was what her lawyer told her to say. The transport trailer sat alongside the tracks for days, the explanation was there was difficulty getting something to tow the damaged trailer to a place of safety. We learned later there was no insurance on the trailer. The whole episode was on YOU TUBE and we got to see the accident on the Internet just after we heard about it. Not only were the 3 cars and the transport trailer damaged, but we were told there was $400,000.00 damage done to the train. Eventually an adjuster did look at the car while it was still on the trailer in Georgia. I do not know who hired the adjuster, but fortunately Joanne Parker had given me his name and contact numbers. When contacted he said the car appeared driveable to him other than some dents in the fenders on the driver's side as it was in the front of the trailer and the train hit the trailer in the middle. The problem was getting the car off the damaged trailer without further damage. He said it was the first time in his career he got to see a wreck on the internet before he inspected the car. There was a time when we insisted there were important papers in the trunk and if the car was to be totaled we needed to have those papers. Because the only key with the car for security did not open the trunk, the car was impounded and opened by the police presumably thinking there were drugs involved, resulting in heavy scratches made by inspection dogs. Again I am speculating. It gets really complicated after that, and has taken months of deferred responsibility to finally correct the problem. The first association on record was the OOIOA ( Owner Operated Independent Owners Association ). Their claims adjuster, Diana Adams, stonewalled any attempt to locate the car and insisted the car should be totaled. Other interested parties were my insurance Company (USAA), Royce Transport which owned the truck, their insurance, Lloyds of London, and of course Joanne Parker who, started to pay attention when we threatened to get law enforcement involved. Sometime in November, my car ended up at Royce transport in Simpsonville, NC. although we were never given the specifics of that transfer. After it was transferred we were informed there was to be daily $85.00 charge for storage. Many phone calls later, the collision repair shop contracted by my insurance Company (USAA) again threatening to call law enforcement and was able to get possession of the car two weeks ago. Rightfully, Joanne Parker returned the deposit, the driver nor the transport company were paid, as the agreement was to pay them on the delivery of the vehicle. Questions needed to be asked. Who is ultimately responsible? The company booking the driver? The driver? The association representing the driver? The transport company owned the cab but not the trailer that got hit by the train ? Are there exceptions for drivers to take unapproved roads to make a delivery? Why did Joanne Parker not know there was no insurance on the trailer? If she did, how could she ethically contract for the service? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I was shopping for a transport company initially, one fellow I called said, ?We all call the same numbers?. I expect this situation could have resulted with any one we contracted with. Never the less Parker Trucking was the one we chose. I am not involved in the process of evaluating transport companies, but I am sure those who book such services need to filter through the records of both the drivers and transport companies. Instead, I feel it?s a matter of nothing more than picking up the phone and taking the first driver available. Easy money. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The good news, the insurance companies worked it out in December and had the car taken to an approved repair shop in Spartanburg, SC where the appraiser decided the repairs were less than the book value and it was repaired. We drove down to South Carolina yesterday and picked up the car. 6 months after our first contracting with Parker Trucking.

Member, The driver did have CARGO insurance. Your vehicle is his cargo. The driver did not have liability insurance on the trailer that does not affect you. This was an unfortunate clerical error by his insurance company that no one was aware of. A claim for your vehicle was filed on July 2nd. Your vehicle was declared totaled by the driver’s insurance company on July 31. Aug 8th the driver’s insurance company was still waiting to hear from you on what you wanted to do with the vehicle. Aug 17th you instructed your insurance company to have your vehicle transported to you and you would determine at that time what you wanted to do with the vehicle. At some point during the month of August you made a verbal agreement with the driver. September 28 @ 7:41am you call me to tell me that you still do not have your vehicle! After further investigation I find out that you and the driver made special arrangements. Oct 24th @ 10:43am your insurance company calls me to tell me that you and the driver have a verbal agreement and the vehicle is still not delivered. Nov 28 @ 11:34am your insurance company calls me again to tell me that the vehicle is still not delivered. I returned her call again to tell her that you and the driver made a verbal arrangement back in August that I was not involved with. I don’t understand why you chose to go off the grid and not follow procedure. What I find even more disappointing is how your insurance company handled the situation. It took them five months before you received your vehicle! They should be the ones receiving the F. The driver’s insurance company resolved this issue in less than 30 days. This was an unfortunate situation that no one wanted to happen. Unfortunately roads are not marked indicating any hazards ahead. As you know, there was also another accident at the same rail road tracks less than 30 days before this situation. The railroad company is aware of this and that is why there is a sign located next to the tracks with a phone number to call when something like this happens.

MJ Transport was great. Gave me the lowest bid from 4 other companies to transport car from NV to Fl. Joanne from MJ answered all questions and transaction/payment was easy. I wrote and submitted a detailed review on this company last week. L. James Clark
Description of Work: This service was actually performed for my daughter, who lives in Colorado Springs, CO with her three daughters. I offered to give her my 1999 VW New Beetle (70K miles). She said she would like to have it for local commuting and for the girls to use as they begin to drive. She selected the mover (Parker) based on my research on Angie's List. My daughter made the arrangements with Parker, paid for the service, and my only contact was with the local (Maryland) contractor they used to transport the car. The contractor kept me informed on the day they were to make the pickup. There was no inconvenience at all, except for running a little late due to the length of time involved in picking up three cars ahead of me, all at different locations. I thought the delay was reasonable and, as mentioned, I was kept informed as the pickup schedule evolved. I advised the man in charge that my daughter wanted a daytime (early morning) delivery, as she works, and has a very inflexible schedule. I told him to be sure to advise her when he would be arriving. He left my location in Maryland at about 3PM on Saturday , November 17. He called my daughter some time on Sunday to tell her he would be in Colorado Springs by midnight, and would make delivery to her home on Monday morning. He arrived on time, and delivered the car to her driveway, without incident, and with no damage to the car. He had actually picked up three additional vehicles on the way, after leaving my area. My daughter was very pleased with her experience, and I was certainly pleased with what I experienced on my end. I thought the whole operation was outstanding. Note that the "work" was not performed entirely at the location specified below. The pickup of the car was made at that address.

Joanne is responsive and professional. The company that she subcontracted to showed up on time and delivered a day ahead of schedule. My only concern was that we were told that the contractor would call us the day before and this did not happen, which cause us some confusion. Also, the contracting company didn't give us any paperwork up pickup and dropoff, that left us a bit uncomfortable. Having said all this, this company did meet deliver as they said they would, and their price was the best, so I would recommend them.

This was a "hold your nose and close your eyes" experience as soon as I paid Parker their fee ($104). My deal with Parker was to pay the trucker $650. There were several false starts when the trucker finally contacted us to pick up the car, but really no big deal. The real fun started on delivery. The driver, who did not speak English as a first language, called me out of the blue and told me he would be delivering the car between noon and 5:00 p.m. the next day. I waited at home the entire time, even though I had things to do. He showed up at 9:15 p.m. And, he would not come into my development, forcing me to walk 1/2 mile out to meet him (I am partially disabled). Then, he insisted on being paid $700 in cash rather than the $650 I had agreed on with Parker. We had a shouting match, and I ended up calling Joanne Parker at 9:45 on a Saturday night. I got her voicemail (no surprise), but to my amazement she called me back within 3 minutes. She looked at her records and told me she had sent me an email, which I never received, about the price increase and that the driver was in fact owed $700. She suggested that I pay him the extra $50, and she would work it out with me on Monday. Only problem: I did not have the extra $50 on me. So the truck driver drove me in my own car the 1/2 mile back to my house, where I picked up my other car, drove to an ATM and got the $50. After I paid him $700, the truck driver followed me back to my house, gave me my car and walked back to his truck. Joanne Parker called me on Monday as promised, and told me it was clear from her records that I had not in fact received any of her emails about the change in price. (I find it ironic that I received all her emails about the payment of Parker's fee but none of them about the price increase.) She offered to credit the extra $50 back against her fee, which she did very promptly. In fact the only rason I am giving this transaction a C rather than an F is because of the professional manner in which Joanne Parker dealt with the snafu.
Description of Work: First you need to understand this business. The companies listed on Angie's list like Parker do not transport anything. They are brokers, who for a fee match independent transport truckers with cars to be transported.. When you contract with a company like Parker you pay them a fee up front and they arrange for an independent trucker to transport your car. From there all your dealings are with the trucker, not Parker. You the pay the driver in cash on delivery.

Customer, I am sorry you feel that this was a "hold your nose and close your eyes" experience. Not only am I a carrier, but I am also a broker and dispatcher. If I cannot get you on my trucks then I put you on another truck with a driver that I have worked with in the past. This driver picked up your vehicle and delivered your vehicle within the time frame you requested. I apologize for the confusion on the payment and I took care of the issue as I said I would. In the future, you may want to let drivers know that 1/2 a mile walk is tough for you do to your disability. The drivers are very accommodating in situations like yours

Parker's quote (via the internet)was decent, and their reviews had been very good. I talked to them then booked through their internet site. A deposit of $104 (via paypal) secured the trip, and the driver was booked for the first day of the available window. Their were no issues at load - my daughter was very pleased with the Driver's professionalism. The vehicle arrived here the next day with no issues. Payment of $300 was required at delivery, either cash or cashier's check. This was specified on their website, so was not a surprise. The drivers were quick and professional, and the car seems completely fine. I would absolutely use them again.

Good job - especially to the driver.
Description of Work: I had my car transported from Charlotte, North Carolina to Los Angeles. My overall experience was quite good and I was especially impressed with the fastidiousness of their driver. He walked around my car taking note of any scratches, etc. Since the car is new it is virtually unscratched -- which is how it was delivered.

It should be noted that MJ Parker Trucking subcontracted the transport of my vehicle to Alamo USA trucking. I was not surprised that Parker Trucking subcontracted the transport of my vehicle out to another trucking company, that is how the system works, but it was the responsibility of Parker Trucking to ensure the company hired was professional and reliable. One hires a travel agent to ensure a trip goes as planned and avoids the pitfalls of travel. Likewise, a transportation broker is hired to ensure your vehicle arrives safely while transported by a professional and reliable shipper. It was clearly stated that the vehicle would be ready for pickup on or after November 6th. On November 2nd my cousin receive a phone call informing them they would be by that evening to pick up the truck. When my cousin told them that would not be possible, they asked ?Can't you just leave it there for us to pick up?". Please, do you want us to fill-up the gas tank and leave it running for you as well? It is very unprofessional to ask to leave a vehicle out with the keys in it. The truck was picked up and loaded at my cousin?s home on November 5th and my cousin was told the truck would be delivered four days later. After a week, I call inquiring the whereabouts of my truck. I?m told delivery to my house was next on their list and they?ll drop it off shortly. That night, long after dark, I receive a phone call that they would be there shortly to deliver my truck. Knowing that upon delivery I would be asked to sign a receipt stating I received the truck undamaged. I refused delivery after dark where an inspection for damage would be limited. Instead I demanded deliver take place during the daylight hours. All?s well that ends well; the truck was delivered to my driveway undamaged the following day. Very unprofessionally in my opinion, my truck was driven seven miles before I received it. The odometer reading was recorded by my cousin when the truck was loaded and when I received it there were seven more miles on the odometer. I made clear when I hired Parker Trucking that the truck will be shipped unregistered and uninsured. My truck traveled from California to New York State aboard the same trailer driven by the same driver. The only increase in mileage that should have registered was that of loading and unloading. I asked how seven miles were put on my truck during transport and they had no explanation. I suspect the evening my truck was unloaded my truck and I insisted the truck be delivered in the daylight hours; the truck driver took it for a joy ride. Uninsured and unregistered it should not have been on the road. I hired MJ Parker Trucking due to the positive reviews on Angie?s List and in particular how nice and helpful Joanne was reported to work with. I?m sorry I didn?t get to work with that Joanne; I didn?t feel the friendly helpful vibe. I was disappointed by both MJ Parker Trucking and Alamo USA.
Description of Work: The required service was to pick up at my cousin’s house in California a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck and deliver it to my home in New York state promptly and undamaged. There were two special requirements. The first was the truck was to be transported in an enclosed trailer. The second was that since I am a disabled person; they needed to guarantee the truck would be delivered to my driveway and not a remote location where I would need to pick the truck up.

Customer, Thank you for the review. Auto transportation is not the same as a fedx package unfortunately. The drivers have a window of +/- 2 days for pickup and delivery. The driver’s schedules are based on all the customers ahead of you. The driver was running early. Not a problem. Just let the driver know that early pickup is not possible. No need to get upset or have a fire drill. The driver nor did I know that your cousin was going to be out of town. I am sorry that you fell that I was not helpful. I feel that I responded in a timely manner to all your many concerns during business hours and after business hours on issues that could of been resolved during business hours. It was at the point that you were calling me to just chat about things that had nothing to do with your transportation. One night when you called, I was in the middle of making dinner and unfortunately I did not have time to chat about your day. You are right, I was short with you because I needed to get off the phone and attend to the meat on the grill and the noodles on the stove. Your vehicle was driven to the pickup location and was unloaded and driven to your home due to the truck not being able to get to both homes. Is it possible that the 7 miles was due to the loading and unloading of your vehicle? End result, your vehicle was picked up according to your cousin’s schedule. Shipped enclosed and delivered to your front door without damage. All your criteria request were met. All was completed in the allowable 7-10 day window it takes to get from coast to coast. Won’t it be an amazing day when companies are able to rate their customers! I hope you enjoy your new vehicle and wish you all the best

Initial difficulty in finding a transport driver who would pick up our car in Petaluma, CA, but they persisted and succeeded.
Description of Work: They made a special effort to find a driver who would pick up our vehicle in an off-route town and deliver it to a small town in New Mexico. Very polite, responsive and good service.
