"I do not know who this person is. My company does not do business in Surprise (service area specified in profile). Not sure why this individual is posting this review when we have never met let alone spoken!"

She comes every 2 weeks. She's very knowledgeable and she actually made our yard looks so much better than we ever had. She knows the plants; she knows how to take care of them and how to cut. She's great to work with.

Kate has done service twice and she is GREAT. Yard looks great. Some plants had to have a pretty severe trimming to get back to growing patterns that are healthy for them. Kate was honest about how severely they had to be trimmed and they are already coming back well. She also made a great suggestion about moving large golden bell cacti from side seldom used yard to more visible parts of yard...Looks great

I found CPF on Angies List, but from the beginning CPF seemed unorganized and was difficult to pin down, and near impossible to get additional services aside from regular maintenance. Even the regularly scheduled maintenance service was not performed as scheduled and a month would be skipped. We agreed to every other month service due to my small yard, but apparently due to her busy schedule she did not provide services as scheduled or agreed upon.. I wanted some additional plantings, trellis installed, a couple of shade trees, which we discussed since my beginning service with CPF last summer which she agreed to do. Eventually I was given a variety of excuses and none of that was ever done. At the last minute last week I was given a window of one morning to install a tree following my having had surgery so this last minute notice did not work as I was not able to respond in her time frame. I was told end of April would be the next available opportunity. I have been asking for the date of my next service and I just received an email that she has taken on additional clients and will no longer handle my property. So again, she has reneged on providing the service we had agreed to and my yard will go unserviced again this month.
Response from CPF HORTICULTURAL SERVICES
"This was an 'as needed' account, and as such, was to be worked in around my regular clients. A business decision was made to no longer do this type of account, in favor of focusing only on regular maintenance accounts. This account was not the only one I resigned from, but it is the only one where my resignation was reprehensible enough to punish. I find it interesting that this review was not made while working for this client, but the very same day (April 6, 2014) I sent the following resignation e-mail: [I never received a response to the e-mail, and only today became aware of the negative review.] "Hi (Member name removed), I have reworked the schedule and am actually going to have to stop doing all 'as needed' properties in favor of regular, minimal, once a month properties. One of the guys who works with me on a regular basis is asking for (some) of the accounts. To that end, I'm giving him names in the order I took the properties, with property owner permission. If he gets through the list and still has room for more, do you want me to give him your contact information? Kate". Show of hands out there: How many of you have had a landscaper quit without notice? How many of your resigning landscapers not only gave notice, but also offered a potential replacement? As it worked out, my employee ended up taking all of my as needed accounts. I followed up with my ex-clients and there was not one complaint about the transition. Indeed, some already knew the guy. Me, not so happy - my second best weekend guy had to quit working for me to keep up with his new clients. I still haven't been able to replace him!"

At my request, Kate made a special visit to repair and improve my drip system. Turns out some of my plants were not receiving the right amount of water. She also planted two plants that I had requested from her recommendation list. I was pleased that she purchased them wholesale and the amount I paid was much less than if I had purchased from a nursery.

Kate seems very knowledgable about irrigation, desert planting, landscape design and maintenance. I also like that she bills me for services and keeps to a regular schedule so I always know when she is coming. I am very pleased so far.

While Kate was trimming dead matter from a Boxwood, she discovered a nest of quail eggs...and the Mama quail inside. It was so much fun to see the babies hatch a few weeks later. I never would have known if she hadn't discovered them.

She's excellent. Compared to other gardeners I've had come to my house she's about $20 cheaper and twice as good. She doesn't bald my bushes and that's why I like her so much. She trims them and I couldn't recommend anyone else because the ones previous to her have been very bad. They bald the bushes, charged $80, and weren't half as good. She gave me a great deal and she's honest. She told me that she usually doesn't come in February because there really isn't that much to do. She also told me that she felt guilty taking the money, but my husband wanted her to come in February. That really shows her character and the sort of person she is.

Kate has been taking care of our yard maintenance for about a year. We bought a foreclosure home that had been empty for more than a year. The landscaping had been without water all that time. Some plants had died and others were stressed. Both the landscaped areas and the natural desert area of the property had alto of non-native weeds. Kate provided us with a realistic timeline for removing dead the plants and weeds. She gave great suggestions for replacement plants. We were so pleased with the clean up that we have continued to use Kate for our monthly maintenance.

The lady who represented CPF Horticultural Services was very straight forward and knew her job well. She did a great job and her prices were competitive. She was very responsive and quick. I have a project for landscaping contracted at the moment. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Very well, Kate coordinated with me via phone and email since I was out of town during both sets of work. She continues to keep me up to date on how the yard looks. She also helped out my friend and neighbor with an irrigation problem while working at our house. She did so well that I recommended to my parents and they are very pleased with her efforts too.

It has been a fantastic experience as Kate clearly loves what she does and does it well. This is our first home so we were very green on how we wanted to change our landscaping and Kate has been excellent advisor as we are building things out.

She checks all the plants and the sprinklers. She asks for anything extra that I want done. She will make a special trip if I need her. She will let me know if she cannot come at the appointed time. I am well pleased with her work. I recommended her to my daughter.

She and her crew worked efficiently when they came to trim the trees, and everything looked so much better afterwards! My view was opened up while shade was left. The rocky swale is lovely and really adds to my front yard's appearance. She checked out the irrigation system and fixed leaks in it (I had bought the house last fall and some hiccups were found.) Kate is imaginative, helpful, and considerate; she was honest about the wisdom of trying to kill Bermuda in October (not its prime growth period) and explained that some could come back which would require further chemical use. She has been accessible for questions in between visits. Also, she is very fair in her prices. I look forward to working with her for many years to come as my little yard increases its attraction for hummingbirds, etc as well as beauty and functionality for me. I appreciated her ideas for use of the backyard space too, as I'm now talking with hardscape people for my next phase. :-)

I contacted CPF Horticultural Services and Kathy Goodhart, was very prompt in coming out to see my property. We had a long discussion of what to do and she had many good suggestions. We made a date to meet at the wholesaler and to have the work done. Kathy came with the workmen and the work was done in less time that estimated, they were very neat and I am vary pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend her. She takes great pride in her work.

Needed a very last minute job due to a funeral and after explaining my situation, they made time to get my work done. Apparently they were done for the day because everyone showed up in separate cars. I was a little worried that they would be disorganized, but after a huddle on the street when everyone arrived, they went at it and never stopped until they were done. This meant working in the car headlights for the front yard since it got dark. They brought the flowers themselves and didn't charge for them. Very respectful due to the circumstances, and the people seemed to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. I may consider converting my landscape to desert to continue doing business with them since they usually don't do tropical landscapes. They came through for me and my family and considering the work that needed to be done, and how last minute my request was, I don't think they charged enough.
