Handyman Connection of NW Arkansas

Joe met with us three times at our house. We gutted the bathroom ourselves by taking down wallpaper, removing tile and removing a very large bathroom. We also painted the cabinets and painted the walls. Joe put down tile, textured the walls, dug up concrete to move a toilet and replace the tub. He did wood working and plumbing and dry wall, tile and all kinds of plumbing. It took about a week. He was polite, prompt and professional. He did a fantastic job and worked with us to keep the cost down by doing work ourselves. Our bathroom is amazing!

The water seal effort was only partially effective.

It was a fairly simple process. Scheduling was easy and they accomodated to me. One handyman came out to do the work and it took him about an hour or so to complete. I was satisfied with the results.

My experience went very well. The work was done to my satisfactaction. Scheduling went well and they were responsive. We did have some delays because of the weather. One technician came out each time to do work.

We had some issues scheduling but I think it was more of the cable companies fault, but once I had called, a technician came out right away to do the work. Two technicians came out and they were able to get the job done very quickly. They really went above and beyond for us and they did an amazing job.

We have always been very happy with them. They seem to do a good job and in a reasonably time. We usually have just one technician come out to do work for us and scheduling usually goes well. I think their prices are reasonable.

Did som cleaning if gutters which took a bit more time and thus money but was done on same day. Good experience.

I was contacted to set up an appointment in my home, but had to cancel. I asked them to contact me with a rescheduled time but they have not done so.

It went well! All the workers were really good! They were flexible with my schedule and got things done when we needed it. The end price was very fair.

I purchased this deal a couple of weeks ago (11-04-13), and after changing the appointment from last week to this week, someone came out to look at my little job (connecting the dryer vent hose to the vent on the outside of the house, requiring working in the clean & dry crawl space). He spent a few minutes telling me what needed to be done to connect the vent from the laundry room floor to the outside vent, and what materials he'd need, and then told me he could do the work for $195.00. He seemed not to understand I had purchased 2 hours of his time to actually do the work. I had purchased what I thought were the proper supplies and had them on hand. He ended up not doing anything, since he was unable to get under the porch to the crawl space access. After a call to Handyman he came back & told me they would contact me to send someone else out who could do the job. I clearly described the work required to Handyman when I accepted the offer. I sent a request to cancel this just a few minutes ago, and got a response from Angie's List almost immediately; amazing service! Thank you.

They installed a doggie door for me, which only took a couple of hours. The door is fine and works well.

Even though I let them know I had 22' ceilings, only one person showed up and grumbled that this is a two person job. I had to help them bring in the ladder (luckily I'm young enough where this isn't that big of a deal) as well as help him set up the ladder. He handed me a bill at the end, and I reminded him that I had bought a $99 Angie's List coupon. He grumbled again that he wouldn't have done this if he had known it was a coupon deal. I helped him carry the ladder to the truck.

I got the $59 coupon for 2h of handyman. An appointment was scheduled to check the work which needs to be done. The handyman said he can complete the work in those 2 hours. During day of when the work suppose to be done. I received a call from handyman and the cost was changed. I need to replace the backdoor and he said company charges for that $250 and the real value for the $59 coupon was $140. Therefore, if I want the work done I need to pay $110 more... even if the work will be done in less than 2 hours. This is not professional, how come they change the agreement a couple of hours before the appointment. I wait for 2 weeks since I contacted the company for this work and they were trying to overcharge me. I wasted 2 weeks waiting for this work which was never complete

They have been so gracious to me in giving me two quotes. They have wonderful customer service. I would like to use them in the future. They are very kind.

If they don't have someone that can do the work, they let you know right away and give you recommendations. The contractors can shop for the materials if you want them to, and since I don't like to go to Lowe's and compare concrete prices, I appreciate that. Plus, they are always good for the estimate. I have the option to accept what they give me or not, or I can negotiate it. I'm sure someone may be able to do it for less, but I know I'm getting quality. I am also managing the duplex from long distance now so it is even more important that I trust the type of work I am getting and the type of company I am working with. It is so nice to have the knowledge and reassurance that something is going to be done well, and I don't have to worry about it myself.

He did not measure the threshold correctly, so when I brought back the threshold that I had purchased (at the measurements he specified), it did not work so he sawed off the extra portion. Also, he told me what items to purchase for the faucet replacement, and when I returned from purchasing the items specified, he had forgotten some of the things that were needed. I had to go back to the store to buy these items. I felt the quality of the work was adequate, however at times I felt that I knew more about how to fix something, or what steps to take to get the work completed than he did. For example, I would say "Why don't you check on this....or that...?" and he would say, "That's a good idea! I didn't think of that!" I felt like he overcharged me, as I have installed a ceiling fan myself in the past, and I am knowledgeable about what is involved in the cost. When I mentioned that to him he changed the price, and said he wouldn't charge me for some things and that he would throw them in for free. I felt like he was trying to rip me off. He was a young man, and it seemed like maybe he needed some additional training.

They've always been super nice and courteous. They clean up very well after themselves. I keep coming back to them time after time because they do great work.

I had sewer work done in the past, and I felt the price was reasonable and comparable to other companies who do that type of work. The man that did the work was knowledgeable, fast, quick, and knew what he was doing. He was very good about explaining everything he was doing and why he was doing it, and I found him to be very informative. He also went above and beyond by doublechecking with the city that everything was up to code so that I wouldn't have the same trouble again.

We've been working with them for 6 or 7 years, and they've always done a great job. Everyone who has ever come out to the home has been very professional. I keep coming back to them year after year because they always do what they say they are going to do and it is always top quality. Also, the price seems reasonable.

They know all of the specs regarding handicap ramps, length v. grade, width etc. and were able to build it to meet federal guidelines. Also they had a pre-fabricated step they were able to install in my existing tub to make it handicap accessible. I had thought I would have to replace the tub, but their unit saved a great deal of money and works quite well. The workmanship is outstanding as were the two (estimator and carpenter) folks that I worked with. I did not do any comparison pricing because they were able to suggest a device (the step through) that saved me a great deal of money by not having to replace the tub. I had used them before and will use them again!!!
