The system I had was 12 years old, needed much repair, and a recent survey showed that the some heads were outside my property lines. Therefore, I decided to replace the entire sysem. Jim Jackson Irigation was referred to me by an acquaintance who does my lawn upkeep; regretfully, I did not do further reference checking. He was not firm with a start date until I told Jim that I would look further for a company who had time to do the work soon, then he scheduled the job. I specificaly told Jim that I wanted misters in all of my beds, all head placed on the parameters of the property/out of the way of mowing ( my yard is small), and no heads spraying directly into my shrubs. I forgot to tell him not to put back yard heads on the the same zones with front yard heads. After about a week, the job was completed and Jim came for his check. He did not offer to run the system for my review or to show me how to operate the controller; so I asked for a demonstration which showed that three heads were beating into my shurbs, misters were not put in all of the beds, some head not put on the parameters, and some backyard and frontyard heads were on zones together--just a total mess. I expressed my dissatisfaction to no avail, so I paid him feeling no choice but to live with it. In less than a week, an underground mister pipe came loose--water running everwhere. I called Jim for repair and he said he would put me on the list. After nearly two weeks, his repairman showed up and fixed it. The next week, the same pipe and another pipe came loose, water was spraying everywhere, even on top of the house, which meant that I could not use that zone at all. I called and again was told nonchalantly that he would put me on the list. Nearly two weeks later, his repairman came, said he glued the loosed pipes this time and that the only solution to prevent the pipes from coming loose again was to turn the water pressure down, which he did. I told him that water flow was too weak to water the yard sufficiently, but he said that was sufficient and left. Later, I called Jim and expressed my dissatisfaction with this solution and told him I wanted the pressure turned back up, which he said he would do but he could not guarantee that the pipes would not come loose again. He said another solution would be to install a pressure regulator for about $300. I told him that I had already spent nearly $4,000 and hesitated to spend more to get this newly installed sysem to work properly. I told him to turn the pressure back up and we would see what else happened, to let me know when his man was coming so that I would be here to ensure the heads were spraying properly before he left. That was about three week ago and I have not heard back from him. A few days ago I decided to watch the sysem while on to see if anything else had gone wrong. Perhaps Jim's repairman came without notifying me as I requested because now, one head is spraying to the top of a 25 ft. tree, others are spraying into the street, and the horror goes on. I will not call him again because it is obvious that he has no clue about the design and installation of irrigation systems/he does not care about the quality of his work, and no sense of customer service--at least for some customers. I have contacted another company for assistance.
