AC crapped out on Saturday. We called Ozark Mountain Air on Monday. That very afternoon, Jason came out to look at what we needed. Which turned out to be a new unit; reasonable, considering the age of the old one. Tuesday, he brought us two window-unit loaners. By Thursday, the whole system was replaced and working nicely. Jason recently bought this company, so older reviews might not be reliable.

On a Friday (naturally--the day before the weekend) I became aware that my central air conditioner wasn't working; the t-stat was set at 71, while the ambient temp' was 79. I called O.M.A.--hoping against hope that I wouldn't get a "We'll have somebody out there first thing Monday" response, as the eight shade trees I planted could only do so much to protect the house's interior from the 99-degree outside temperature--and was greatly relieved when I was told that someone would be there that afternoon. As promised, the technician showed up late that afternoon; spent some time diagnosing the problem; and replaced a capacitor that had gone bad. The total bill for labor and materials was $103, which I felt was very low, considering the circumstances.

Woke up very cold one morning and noticed the heat was not working. I poked around on the furnace and could not determine its cause. I had seen Ozark Mountain air and wanted to try them since they are nearby where i live. I called and requested a service visit and i left for work. Two servicemen arrived about 9-9:30 and immediately got into the furnace and determined the issue. They found the flame sensor to be dirty, which only needed cleaning, and they did so and put it back in. Problem solved.  They left around 10. A few weeks later we got a massive bill of 127 saying they were here for over an hour plus they had a minimum vehicle charge. First, it doesn't take two people to do most HVAC work. Second, their office is a stones-throw away from our house.
I wont be using them again, there are plenty of service companies to choose from.

It's now November and i'm still waiting for a call. A friend that used them also switched to a different company this spring. I had the unit replaced by a different company. I doubt that I will have them service my units in the future.
Response from Ozark Mountain Air
"This is certainly regrettable. At the end of May we had record breaking floods followed quickly by record setting heat and once the quote was offered on the replacement compressor the follow up on quoting a new heat pump must have fallen through the cracks. Truth be told I wasn't even aware that a quote was requested for a new heat pump. Either way, it appears that a follow up on the compressor didn't happen and that would have brought up the new unit quote. For this, I'm terribley sorry. We are always striving to offer the best service possible to our customers and in our mistakes hopefully we learn and move forward so that this type of thing doesn't happen again. I called the company on Monday morning to explain that my A/C was not cooling properly. A service call appointment was set for that Wednesday morning and the serviceman called me at the office as per arranged 15 minutes before he arrived. I met him, explained the problem and he inspected the outside compressor unit. He immediately discovered the problem, replaced the part which he had on his truck, and then tested the coolant levels and temperature in the air ducts once the unit was working properly. The entire process took 30 minutes and cost me only $180. The serviceman was professional, courteous and friendly. I will definitely be seeking their help in the future if need be.

I needed a routine inspection for my ac and heat, both of which are 30 years old. This company scheduled the job within a week for mid-afternoon. A snafu came up that morning at another job and the guy called me around 9:00 a.m. to let me know he probably would not make it that day. He didn't wait until time for my appointment but let me know hours ahead of time so I could plan my day accordingly. I appreciate that thoughtfulness about my time. Rescheduled the following day and he was prompt, on time and professional. I had called another company who never got back to, so I was glad to find someone who communicates promptly and then arrived when scheduled. He took the time to explain the inspection so that I now know what to watch for in my antiquated unit. I'm not ready to replace it yet, but will call them when I am.

Outstanding. Very pleased. Cannot say one negative thing about this company. They took care of me when my furnace quit in February. Fast forward to summer and time to upgrade the AC. Bob was knowledgeable and informative about our options and requirements to meet the efficiency requirements for the federal tax credit. I definitely recommend Ozark Mountain Air.

They were very punctual and quick to respond. They came on the inital service call and diagnosed the problem. Since they didn't have the parts, they came back the next day at the scheduled time to fix the issue. We were invoiced via mail after the work was completed.

Our home is only 5 years-old, but our air conditioner was "builder grade" and had started losing freon--parts no longer available, of course. We had always had hot and cold rooms upstairs, no matter the season, and we were very frustrated, not to mention that it was embarrassing to have one bedroom freezing cold and another one so hot you wanted to open the windows in the winter. In August, 2008, we realized that we needed a permanent solution. Ozark Mountain Air was the second company to give us an estimate. We were so impressed that Bob McCoy and his team really listened to our concerns and came up with a solution--zone the upstairs so the individual rooms would have control over temperature. The bedrooms and game room, unused most of the time, are on two individual zones, while the often-used office is on a third. I didn't realize that this was possible from one upstairs unit. We wanted to take this opportunity to replace everything with more efficient units (you couldn't buy anything less efficient than our existing unit). Surprisingly enough, they didn't push the MOST efficient units, which are the most expensive. Bob did an analysis and said that it would take more than twenty years for us to make it worth the additional cost. Very honest--I felt like they probably could have taken advantage of our desperation. lol. Everyone who entered our home was polite and professional, and swept up after themselves. It took two days to install the units and zone the upstairs. They were very considerate of our time. A few days after initial install, Bob called and asked if he could come back and move one of the upstairs thermostats--after thinking about it, he thought it could be put in a more ideal location. This involved running wire from the attic through the wall, not as easy as leaving it in its present location. Of course, there was no additional cost to us. I was pretty impressed that he had been thinking about it. Bob came back and gave us a lesson on programming the thermostats when my husband could be here to attend. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. They are proud of their customer satisfaction rating, and they should be. If you haven't priced air systems lately, it can be a shock, but it helps to know that you are dealing with a company of integrity and that you are paying a fair price. By the way, we had a houseful of people this past weekend--our first time with the heat on, and everyone upstairs was very comfortable. What a relief!
