I explained to them that another company had come out several hours before and told us we had a refrigerant leak, needed a new evaporator coil and had turned off our compressor. It was 84 degrees inside the house when he came. He looked everything over, turned the system back on and told us (as we suspected) that there was no leak. We also asked him about a report we had received from a house inspector saying that we had "temperature split" of 8 degrees. He determined a split of 17 degrees, which is good. He asked when we last changed the air filter for our "return". We had changed it between the time the house inspector came and Air Essentials came. He said that could explain why the inspector thought there might be a problem.

The crew arrived on time. The worked all day removing and installing new ductwork under the crawlspace in our home. They were hardworking, focused neat and tidy. They removed all the old 1970 ductwork and installed new wrapped ductwork and made sure everything was connected and taped so that we nad no more leaks. They ran new supply and return lines and balanced the flow into each room to maximize the efficiency. We are very pleased with the work and one month later my husband called with a question and they came right to the house to check something for him. Job well done. Jan 2013: We had a problem with our A/C unit not cycling properly. Air Essentials diagnosed a bad relay. They came out replaced the bad relay and our system has been working perfectly ever since. We appreciate their workmanship and honesty. If you have a small repair they handle it . Our cost was only $160.

Air Essentials did a fantastic job! I was very happy with them. They were prompt, they showed up when they said they were going to show up. They charged me what they said they were going to charge. They were very courteous, and professional. It was a good experience.

Jason was prompt and called to tell me he was on the way. Very professional. Had the sense to ask about the filters and I had been told by a professional in the air mitigation business to apply filter in an inappropriate manner plus the type of filter I was using was not allowing a free flow of air needed to prevent A/C from freezing up. Once this was explored, he still checked everything out. Company offered a 10% off coupon so charge was $75 which I thought was reasonable.

We had called them to give us an estimate-which they did. Friday they came, when they said, to start work. They spent about three hours working on our system. They took pictures of the inside of the ductwork before and after thet had cleaned it. Amazing. They opened up the unit to get inside and noticed the condensate drain was not plumbed pto[erly. A wrong type trap had been used which allowed the condensate to back up inside the unit.They replumbed the condensate and performed a test to make sure it was working. They also noticed a piece of ductwork that was not installed properly and was not insulated. They fixed that as well. They cleaned all the regusters and the entire duct system with an airborne disinfectant. It is amazing how much fresher the air in the house smells.

HVAC unit was replaced one year ago by a local company. The company did not skirt the bottom of the new exchanger, leaving space for critters to enter our home's crawlspace. Critters entered and once in the crawlspace, chewed their way into the walls and into the HVAC ducting. We called a critter/pest control company who set bait/traps and who recommended that we have ducting cleaned and/or replace. It was very clear to us that the critter catcher's bait/traps were effective and that one of the critters had died in our air ducting system, most likely at the kitchen vent outlet area. We looked up companies on Angie's List and came to Air Essentials, Inc. We placed a call on a Saturday and they returned my call first thing Monday morning. (Very prompt and professional.) A service man was available and so came the same day. (Very unexpected pleasure to be able to get same day service.) The service man was polite and attentive. I explained to him what I explained above and gave him a few more details about where we were hearing the critters and where we noticed breaches in the HVAC ducting. We also told him about the foul smell (obvious to him too) and that we believed that it was coming from inside the HVAC ducting right at our kitchen vent. He went under the house and inspected the ducting. He returned from the crawl space to tell me that I had indeed had a critter in the ducting and that it indeed had been chewed into from a point that was not visible to him prior to cutting it away from the main vent. The pricing to remove, replace and haul away one 5 inch R6 flex run and one 6 inch R6 flex run of approximately 20 feet total in length plus installing metal skirting (flashing) around the HVAC exchanger seem high to me, but I did not have quotes from other companies to compare. I believe that Air Essentials did a good job addressing our issues. The materials they used were top quality and were installed skillfully

they did a complete ck on the system which is preety big is a 3500Sq home so I have several untis in a three level home. than they did all the vent cleaning. they were sharp and proffesional. would highly recomend them. I have never had duc work before so I don't really know if 1600 is alot but it took 2 guys and it took all day.

This service went excellently. The techs were prompt, thorough, polite and very conscientious and professional. They explained to me all the procedures they were going to do, and pointed out some issues that we were unaware of and attended to that also (with the heat pump and mildew/mold on the condenser). We had the ducts cleaned several years ago, but it was time to do that again, as recommended by the company that did the mold remediation in our crawlspace. The dryer duct was in need of a cleaning also, and they attended to that as well. They pointed out to us some issues with some of our ducts that will perhaps require attention in the future, but not necessary at this time, and we were unaware of those issues. All in all, the techs did a wonderful job. We went back to this company after using them several years ago for the first time. It is not something you need to do often, but you should look at it if you are having dust, odors, or problems with your indoor air quality. The dryer duct cleaning will result in a more efficient machine, as lint does escape the trap inside the dryer and deposit in the ductwork venting to the outdoors. You will definitely notice an improvement in your air quality, less dust etc.. Even as we change our return filter every month, we were noticing much more dust than would be normal, even with using the very efficient and pricey filters. I have every confidence that their service is worth the investment, and would thoroughly recommend them.

We were advised to have our dryer duct cleaned as our dryer kept over heating and repairmen could find nothing wrong with it. The Air Essentials service man did an excellent job of explaining everything to me and helping me understand what was going on. He advised me how things work, how to maintain ductwork in the future, what to watch for, etc. He even gave me his cell phone number and asked me to call him by the end of the day to let him know if the dryer was still over heating. Very friendly, courteous and professional.

I cannot give enough praise to the Air Essentials team. I took quotes and recommendations from many companies. Not only did Air Essentials give me the best price, they went above and beyond with several value added services. I had a few companies come in and just pitch their system without crawling under the house and looking at my home overall. The Air Essentials rep crawled under my house, looked in every room, checked the location of all of my vents. Overall they took their time to carefully plan and design the best system for my budget. They gave me cost saving recommendations that no one else mentioned. The installation team was professional, ontime, and very hard working. They had to custom fit a new return line because of a very tight space constraint. I went from a 16 inch line to a new 20 inch return line. It has made a tremendous difference in the amount of air moving through my house. The other companies would not even consider the return line upgrade because of the difficulty of fit. The other companies even said that because they "could not" upgrade the size of the return line, that my new system could not run at the level of efficiency it was rated. Air Essentials did not balk. They took the task and made it look easy. Because of their knowledge and their persistance of figuring out just the right way to make it work, my home has never been more comfortable.

Everyone I dealt with at this company was very professional and knowledgeable, as well as reliable and helpful. they performed an environmental and energy audit. Both were thorough. they recommended easy-to-implement solutions. I'd definitely use them again.

For several months I have noticed an increase in the amount of dust in my home (windows are not open and our doors are not kept open.) I called Air Essentials for an estimate: They have an A ratings with the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List. (There is one contractor I keep getting mail from who has an F with the BBB -- he has not maintained professional standards or education! Obviously, I did not hire him!) The preliminary phone call was answered promptly (on a weekend, from out of town) -- from there on out, we did all of our contact through e-mail. The estimate is based on the number of my HVAC vents. Two professional men (wearing appropriate uniforms) arrived at my door the day of the appointment on time(thank goodness it wasn't raining!). They began the job and worked right along. The job was finished late afternoon; the estimate was "right on" because there were no unexpected surprises. Much like the Angie's List TV ad that talks about the contractor who walked the client's dog -- their truck (attached to the HVAC unit with big hoses) blocked my husband's kayak trailer. He came home 30 minutes earlier than I anticipated, otherwise they would have been done. They stopped their work, lifted the trailer up and over the hoses and attached the trailer to my husband's car so he could go to his class!

My overall experience with them was very good. I thought they did an excellent job. They were very professional and took their time. I thought their price was a bit high but it was a whole day's job.

This turned out to be a very noisy process, so I spend most of my time doing yard work on a beautiful day. Whenever I wandered back through the house, everyone was working briskly. Both of these guys were friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the result.

Our A/C stopped putting out cold air and my neighbor recommended Jason at Air Essentials. He came out quickly, diagnosed the problem, and even had a replacement part with him. Everything is working great now.

Called Air Essentials because we were experiencing a strong, musty odor coming from our heating system. Their technician determined that we had mold growth on the cold air return due to rain water leaking at the cold air return junction with the outside unit. He also noticed that the return was rusted and recommended replacement. However, Air Essentials would not perform any work until an engineer assessed the extent of the mold damage and provided a mitigation plan. They told us that if we later used them to perform the work recommended by the engineer, they would credit the service charge toward the cost of repairs. (They honored this offer.) Fortunately, the mold damage was limited to the return. The engineer recommended replacing the return and cleaning the ductwork. Air Essentials performed the work as scheduled. Our ductwork is clean and the musty odor is gone.
