White Shovel did a superb job landscaping a section of our front yard. It entailed removing 22 year old shrubbery, designing a layout for maximum curb appeal, selecting plants, and planting. We couldn t be more pleased! This was our second experience with using their landscaping services. The employees were professional and attentive to our wishes. We highly recommend White Shovel!

I have nothing but praise for the White Shovel employees who did my work. Bridgett and Isaac looked at my problems and together they came up with a great solution. They are very personable people and very good to work with and most knowledgeable in their field. The other employees were very friendly and hard workers. They always were at my house at the agreed upon time except for one instance. In that case Bridgett called saying they were running late. I definitely would use them again and would recommend White Shovel to anyone.

This entire experience was very exciting from the planning to the end result. I highly recommend this company for your landscaping needs. Professional and superior service! If you are looking for a supreme landscaping team, stop here and look no further.

We were not happy with White Shovel. The design was great, however, they did not follow their designer. We were disappointed in the size of trees and shrubs delivered and planted. Worse, they planted smaller trees when mature compared to their design. We caught this after work was done when I tried to plant more trees. They told me their nursery so when I went to buy more trees I learned that the nursery never sold the trees we wanted. Rather than have a discussion with us WS just bought the smaller version. Once the mistake was discovered we tried to negotiate with WS but we had already paid them several weeks earlier. They stopped emailing or answering phone calls. Any company that will not stand behind their work - stay away!!! Two stars might even be too kind. On another note, we cared for our plants very well over the winter. Still, a number of them died. Out of two landscapers we used, WS had the higher death rate of plants they planted After 7 months. About 1 in 8 died. The other company we used last fall had zero plants die. Bottom line, good designers but bad planters.

We are extremely pleased with the work done at our home today by White Shovel Landscapes. From the first meeting, to the finish of the project, the work was done skillfully and professionally. This is a small family owned business that really cares about doing excellent work. They showed up on time, worked hard and completed the project within the expected time frame, even though I added a few things to the project while they were working. Isaac offers excellent advice and suggestions, and really listens to us as the homeowners. We know that we can trust what he tells us. We love this business and will continue to use them for future work.

Sean and Isaac both walked our yard, listened to our wants and talked us through plants that would work best in the sunny/shady area of our yard. Met with Louis, project manager and did second walk through...discussed plants again. Crew came out, Tyshawn, Kevin, Jonathan, and Omar did the clean out and install. They worked hard and it took two days for them to install. Yard looks much better.

They were very professional and very considerate In considering my concerns during this project. They did a fabulous job.

Update: I received my full deposit from White Shovel Landscaping one day later than the extended week I gave them. Unfortunately, this does not change the ratings as it was not easy getting my money back. This company did not return my calls and tried to argue they should keep every bit of my $1877.00 deposit for doing nothing because I signed a contract. There are plenty of ethical companies out there to give your business.

Irene is thorough, friendly and listened to our requests when designing our front yard landscaping. Smart company to have her be the first person you meet. Her original design options were right on target! We added a couple things after the initial plan and she quickly got back to us with competitive pricing. From the foreman (Isaac) to the installers (Tyler+), the entire crew was polite, hardworking and we got a sense they enjoy their work and each other! They all have great attitudes (it pushed 100 degrees a couple days), they showed up when they said they would and completed our job on time! We are using them for a multi-stage yard project and highly recommend!

I contracted for landscaping with White Slope to include erosion repair and control for a large yard (approx. 1 acre with slope). House is about 2 years old and previous owner did little in way of landscaping after house was completed. White Shovel started the project several days late (not due to weather) and took 4 weeks to complete what was assessed by White Shovel as 5-7 days work. Some of the delay was due to rains; however, most of the delay appeared to be caused by equipment breakdowns, insufficient workers on site for a project this large,, and workers arriving at site very late in the morning. Project cost more than $30,000. Only 1-2 workers were on the job most days although White Shovel said they would have a big team of people all over it. Soil was not top quality -- my yard now has more rocks than it did before this project started. Workers never got off their power equipment to finish around trees and fence. I complained during the project about the rocks; White Shovel said trust the process and the Harley Rake. Neither the process nor the Harley Rake worked as advertised. Four days after the so-called project completion during a moderate rain, I had rivers running through my front yard, side yard, and flower beds installed by White Shovel. I called and left messages; I texted White Shovel; the only response back was a series of texts that stated everything was working as planned. I asked White Shovel to return to my property so I could point out things that should be corrected. White Shovel never came back. I complained twice to the Better Business Bureau (see complaint 0513-900124275). White Shovel refused to even meet to discuss problems and instead canceled my maintenance and warranty clause by registered mail a few days later. The warranty covered the flowers, many of which have now been damaged by the river of water created by a severely flawed landscaping plan implemented by White Shovel. I have videos and pictures of the landscaping deficiencies, several of which I sent to White Shovel. I will be happy to share the pictures and videos with anyone who is interested in using this firm for landscaping. I am now contracting with a different landscaper to repair the mess that White Shovel created. I have more run-off water and erosion now than before White Shovel started this project. I would not trust this firm to perform any yard work that is either large or complex. Large projects where the landscaper needs to have an understanding of grade and gravity appear to be beyond this firm's capability.

We hired them to design our landscape. They put in a French drain but when it rains hard it still floods our porch. When we contacted them and sent photos of what was happening, they never contacted us back.

White Shovel is a first rate company. Isaac Bussey is so easy to work with. He is a great active listner, and is very knowledgeable of lanscape designing. He provided multiple options and designs. I particulary like the photo mark up design which gave us the ability to see what the completed project would look like upon completion. He even showed what the plants would like at my house by each season. Isaac was always available; suprisingly even late at night when I would send an email he would respond immediately. He was always just a phone call away. The installation crew were professional, and very pleasant to work with.

Isaac Bussey was always on top of our multi-phased landscaping effort. He coordinated everything flawlessly and kept us informed as each phase was planned, executed and completed. Best experience we've ever had with this type of contracted service!

They went out if their way to be creative and to be certain that I was happy with the end results. They are creative and have good ideas. This is a top notch company.

I hired White Shovel for some front yard landscaping, including installing a stone retaining wall. Within a few months of completing the job, the wall has a 1/2" crack from top to bottom. I left 4 messages for them to call me and never heard from them. I complained through the BBB and their response was that was normal settling. Other contractors have looked at it and said there is not a proper footing and the mortar they used is wrong. The quality of the other work they performed is well below professional workmanship. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It also appears they do not have business licenses and are operating illegally.

I give White Shovel Landscapes my highest recommendation. Isaac is great to work with - he is enthusiast and creative. I love the fact that they have a computer program that allowed me to see what my home would actually look like with the suggested landscaping. This was a fantastic tool. Isaac developed the landscape plan with all low maintenance plants, which my husband loved. White Shovel also provides the landscape plans at no initial cost, unlike some other companies. We also opted for the annual maintenance program which seems to be a good value. I can't wait to see what my new landscaping looks like in the Spring! Great job, Isaac and Mike!

This company might be good for a simple job but anything else No. I needed my yard graded, sloped and French drain installed. Mike came out so we planned out the job and he sprayed painted the area to be regarded and said crew would be there 1st thing in the morning. So at 3:30 in the afternoon the crew shows up to work and had no idea what to do so I to explain what to do and they did not follow the instructions or the design by Mike. Did not have the materials needed to finish told me back 1st thing in morning at 2:00 came to finish same excuse. A week later a huge rain came and my house almost flooded because the plan was not followed so crew returned to redo again so guess what again rain and flood again. Now they return again to install more drains to keep water out of house. Had to reseed lawn two times so only getting some grass now this started on June 16, 2016 and was finally finished early in August.
