"Thank you so much! It means a lot to us and we appreciate you!"
They apparently didn't do something correct when preparing the cutout for the bed as grass is coming up rampant through the mulch. The original drawing had part of my bed in my neighbors yard, so they had to adjust on site. The layout was a little off from the drawing although not too terrible. Overall, it looks good from the street, but I am a little embarrassed at it up close especially to those who know how expensive it cost.
They were very nice, respectful, and had to come out multiple times, but it's just not what I had hoped. I feel i should have done something very small to then evaluate the outcome before going all in.
Also, they allowed the total to be paid off over 6mths.
The installation went smoothly and quickly. All the work was completed within 3 days of the start. The plants were much smaller than I had expected for the price.
They did damage my brickpaver landscape trim, but they did make the repairs in a timely manner.
One of my Japanese maples appeared very stressed and was dying after a couple weeks. They came out and replaced the tree.
Several of my plants were stressed and loosing leafs.
Feb 2014 - Came out and showed me how to prune my shrubs and trees. Very nice. Noted the plants that were having issues.
Fall 2014 - Called and let the guys know the stressed plants appeared to be dying. They came by and checked them and said I should fertilize them and let them know how they look in the spring.
May 2015 - The plants (4 shrubs) did not survive the winter and I called and let them know. WS came out and replaced the shrubs with 4 different shrubs... I did not know they had come out for a couple of days when I noticed the new plants. Once of the plants did not survive a week and the other 3 were dead within a month.
July 2015 -- I called WS and let them know the new plants were dead. They said the plants were no longer under warranty.
They did not respond to further emails. Basically, I have a big open spot in my landscape where I removed the dead plants.
Originally we were going to have White Shovel prepare the yard for mulch and deliver and install the mulch, but my neighbor offered to do the sod delivery/installation for about half the price. Looking back at the drawings, I wonder whether the White Shovel calculations were accidentally for a much larger amount of sod than what I needed.
Chris led the team that performed the work. Before they got started, he came out and reviewed the work with us to make sure what they did matched what we wanted. It rained a lot, pushing the work date out (naturally nothing to blame White Shovel for). When the work was completed, though, I was extremely happy with the quality of the work and felt that it was a great value.
Now the sod is installed, and the yard looks entirely transformed for the better!
