The problems we experienced occurred when the fence started to buckle (wave) and lean to one side. I called Pro Fence several times to get them out to look at the problem. Once Clint came out and saw the issue, he agreed it was casued by poor workmanship and said they would fix it. On a later visit, he dug around one post and saw that his workers had dry packed the concrete and it never set up to the post allowing the posts to lean and be easily pushed side to side. Additionally, the 10-foot double gate was constructed so one side would not open all the way due to ground clearance rather than cutting the bottom of the pickets so it would open. When the fence started leaning I looked closely at the consturction and discovered that their "weave" pattern for the rails was never accomplished. Every seam fell on every other post, which was not done as Clint had stressed was their construction method.
Clint stated they would correct the problem with the posts and gate and told me they would be out in 2 weeks. The two weeks came and went and I had to call to see when they were coming out. I have to say there was some rain during this period that I suspect delayed their scheduling. With that said, I was not contacted about any delays and feel that their warranty work takes a back burner to new work they have scheduled.
After a couple of weeks of calls, a worker showed up but only fixed half the problem. Several more calls went unanswered before I got in touch with Clint. In this call I was told they would be out the following week to finish the repair. He also stated they had about 15 posts to fix. I told Clint the worker only placed concrete on one side of the posts and that it needed to be done on both sides since the fence waivered both ways. He agreed and stated he would send someone out that week. A worker showed up and reset only 4 to 5 posts not the 15 requiring repair. Additionally, concrete was only placed on one side of the posts not on both sides as was agreed to correct the issue. After several messages, I finally reached Clint. He said he would set up an appointment with me to look at the competed work. He said he would contact me tomorrow as he wasn't at his office and didn't have his schedule. I never did heared back from Clint.
I finally got in touch with Clint after several attempts and was told he had stopped by to look at what was done and he said he would send a crew out within the next two weeks to finish the repair. It has now taken 2 1/2 months to accomplish warranty work for a job resulting from what he said was poor workmanship. Clint did agree to extend the warranty on the contract another year. However, when he emailed the updated warranty he incorrectly used the current month and year for the end date which actually reduced the original one year warranty. He did correct this and sent a new copy to me. In addition to the leaning fence posts and the incorrect installation of the rails, there are many pickets which lean to one side (about 2 inches) so that they are not perpendicular to the ground. I have not made this an issue. Additionally, I guess I will fix the double gate myself since none of the workers that came out corected this problem.
Although Clint extended the warranty an extra year to accomodate for any future problems that may develop as a result of the work, it does not accomodate for the slanted pickets, the dififuclties in getting this resolved, or the fact that I will have to correct the gate myself. I have tried to be patient and reasonable through this process. I just want the fence fixed so that I am not having to replace it in a few years due to the issues I have identified.
Bottomline: Although they did finally complete the repair, they were slow to respond to calls and did not correct the gate problem which I mentioned to Clint a couple fo times. I would not use them again.
I called Pro Fence and a man came out that afternoon to give me the estimate for repairs. The estimate
matched the insurance company figures. I knew immediately I had a good company. I signed the contract for
the $544.00 and he begun work the following morning. Two hours later it was completed and he was on his way
and I was a very happy customer.
