Owners of System Green Landscape showed up at the jobsite with suggestions on how to install the landscaping with the use of equipment not specified by other landscapers. They said that they would bring a backhoe that would sit in the driveway and pull up soil to stabilize an area next to the driveway where trees would be planted. They suggested using a irrigation pump that would be located on a pad that they would install. Others had suggested using a submersible pump. System Green Landscape said their pump was better since it did not need to be removed in the winter months. They were very good salesmen. When they did the irrigation installation, they installed a submersible pump. When I showed them their quote, they offered to remove the submersible pump, but, it would cost more to have the pad installed and a different pump installed as well as delay the installation. They had also agreed to a time-table for installing the landscaping in order to meet local inspection deadlines. Because of problems with the weather, it was delayed by 3 days. However, no one showed up for another week when the weather was fine. The landscaping materials were installed without using the equipment they had suggested to install the trees. Therefore, the trees were perched on a narrow strip on the side of the driveway. (Later I arranged for the area to be built up as System Green said they would do.) In April when the trees and plants began to grow, one tree and a coupon of Azaleas and one Rose began to die. I did not contact System Green at that time since I wanted to make sure the plants were actually dead before I contacted them. When the tree lost all its leaves and the 3 other plants were dead, I did not want them replaced in the middle of summer, so I waited. In July, I called to ask to be put on the schedule for September to have the tree and plants replaced. I was asked to send pictures. I sent the pictures and did not hear anything back. I contacted them in August and September. Finally in September I was told that I needed to provide receipts where my landscape maintenance contractor had provided the correct fertilizers and also a daily log of watering and maintenance. I responded that I did not have this documentation since it was not stated as being required on their warranty. Since my warranty was supposedly good until March 4, 2014, I felt that I had plenty of time to get the dead tree and plants replaced. They sent a long message saying that if I wanted them to replace the dead plants, that they would give me a estimate for the replacements. In other words, their warranty is not as good as the paper it is written on! There is no warranty! Everything the owners told me that they would do differently than other landscapers, they did not do! Beware! Stay away! They are excellent salesmen and they show beautiful pictures of work they say they did! I did not get this level of work!
