Go Somewhere ELSE!!! Not for German cars, they replaced a wheel bearing and returned the car with a brake light problem, they noted it and instead of saying they can fix it or what to do to fix it, they just said your pads look fine here are your keys and pay THE SAME PRICE AS THE DEALERSHIP, now I have an issue that still needs to be resolved. Why would I come here if it isn't supposed to be less than the 200 an hr labor the dealer charges me and I still have to go get it resolved and pay more money. With the dealer I get top service, I know its certified work, and they don't let me go out the door till I am happy with everything they have done. If they resolve the issue I will fix the review but until then I would avoid this shop.

Although I haven?t gotten anything done yet the fact that they deticated time and essentially money to thoroughly look at my vehicle and explain to me in a way that I could understand and looked everything over efficiently and effectively. I felt as if I belonged there I wasn?t just another client to them. I was welcome as an individual. Whether I decide to invest money in this vehicle or junk it and get another I will absolutely be back. They provide an all around service. 100%. I will refer any and everyone to D&D Automotive Repair.

They were extremely professional and courteous. They gave me a written record of the services done and recommendations for future wore needed; however the were kind enough to prioritize the work needed so I knew what was the most urgent for safety. I also received an email of the recommendations and work done. I recommended them to family members who are now receiving service from them.
Description of Work: The rewiring of the electrical component fir my brake lights. The rotation of my tires. And an overall inspection of the vehicle with recommendations for the repair of two front axel boots. And needed other items. This was a used car I was given by an elderly family member who did not know how to get the services the vehicle needed.

They've been my mechanic for 12 years, so they're great. I don't really know how they compare to other places, but I trust them. Several years ago when they had done some work on rotors perhaps. Something about the alignment that had done caused what they had done to not work very well. They grounded the rotors for me and didn't charge me. They're prompt, really nice and give me good information. They also give me choices, and they also tell me if I should not fix something. For instance the cable on my minivan that pulls the door back. When I talked to Steve, he found out all the information for me, but let me know ahead of time that it's the one thing the manufacturer doesn't do very well and I should expect it to be expensive and I should decide whether or not it was important to me. He was right, it was expensive and I decided not to do it and he validated my decision. It was like a $2,000 fix for something with the convenience. They said they could do it, and they'd order the parts and if I didn't want to do it, it was also a smart move. On the price, I don't know how it compares, but since I trust them I'd go there anyway.
Description of Work: They did the oil and I think I took it in for a weird sound.

**OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE** - A bright light on a dark day! Not sure where to begin as my transmission went out after 140,000 miles on my 2001 Chevy Suburban. It takes your breath away like a heart attack and you become very vulnerable with the fear of deception clouding your thought process. So I turned to Angie's List (had to renew subscription) and was able to find the answer I needed for catastrophic failure. D & D Automotive Repair. I knew the brakes were bad and had suspicions about the transmission because of noises and limited performance. But, when life intersects with reality, it became decision time. I was able to get the truck there (limping) and Dave (the owner) gave me a ride home. Steve is the point man and my main contact that lead me thru the ordeal and decision process with all my options. Great follow up and communication so there were no surprises for me as we walked down this road of the unknown. I picked up the truck last Friday after only a week of being in the shop and it drives like new. Smooth shifting, no noises, solid brakes, and repaired fan switch. I would recommend this company for many reasons and more than just the repairs that they completed. The communications, the options for repair, the follow up, attention to detail, and overall pride sets them apart from most service businesses you find today. The pricing was comparable to the other providers I reviewed in the area, but the service is what stood out for my experience. So, in summary, for all jobs big or small (oil change) I have found a new friend. A friend is someone you can trust! Rest assured that your vehicle and soul will be cared for in the business of maintaining your car or truck. Scott A.

Combustible material in the radiator fluid led to an initial diagnosis of a leaky head gasket which is quite an expensive repair. I told Dave, the owner of the shop, to go ahead and do the job. Dave, did not feel completely comfortable with the blown head gasket diagnosis. On his own initiative he contacted a Honda tech from Illinois who was able to come to Dave's shop. They worked on the weekend to ascertain the exact problem. The problem turned out to be something quite unusual and much less expensive to fix. I have never before dealt with an auto repair shop where they sincerely want to do the right thing and will go the extra mile to do so. The level of service provided by D&D was so refreshing. In the future D&D will get all of my maintenance and repair business.

I can't say enough good things about D & D Automotive Repair. They are honest and told us what was going on every step of the way. Their mechanic is skilled and very knowledgeable about transmissions. We have our car back and the transmission is as smooth as butter. We were told of 2 other minor repairs (non-transmission) that we might want done in the future. D & D saved us almost $1200 over another shop that told us we needed a complete transmission rebuild. They are a family-owned business & I trust them to do the right thing & take care of their customers.

I just picked up my car from D & D and I could not have been more pleased. A month ago I took my Chrysler 300C to a Chrysler dealer in Waukesha. I have a few problems. One was the AC would not blow cold and there was a rattle coming from under the car. I was told that it would cost over $2,000 to fix everything. The AC needed to be completely replaced and there were many items that needed to be replaced to fix the rattle. I decided to wait on those repairs. I still had a bill for several hundred dollars for the dealer to look at the car. I found D & D on Angies list and they had the highest rating of all the repair shops at the time, so I decided to get the items fixed and hoped it would cost less than my other estimate. Well they determined that I did not need a new AC unit and the rattle was just some loose heat shields. When they called me to tell me my car wan finished I almost fell out of my chair when the total bill just over $400. That's $1,600 less than I was quoted from the dealer. I was so pleased that I brought my car back for maintenance items after that. Advice...have them look at your car before you think about taking it elsewhere and actually read the reviews that people leave. Just because one person leaves a poor review does not mean that the other 15 good reviews should be tossed out. One more thing...I was also very pleased that they did not try to sell me on a bunch of other work.
Description of Work: Fixed several items that I have been putting off due to cost issues.

I moved from CA to the Milwaukee area. Before I left CA, my mechanic asked me to watch my car for possible oil leak when he changed the belts and did some maintenance. He said if I do still have a leak, it’s probably my oil filter adapter. After I moved into the house, I noticed that I had a couple of oil drops on my garage floor. I called D& D from Angie List to get an estimate on replacing my oil filter adapter. They told me to bring the car in so they could look at it. When I brought it in on May 22, they said I had a major leak and they had to put dye in the car and do diagnostics. I explained that my previous mechanic had already checked everything else and that he thought it was the oil filter adapter. They told me that my car does not have an oil filter adapter. They charged me $77.31 and asked me to drive it for 200 miles and then come back. I brought my car back on May 25. At that time they told me I needed to replace the oil pump, oil pump screen, and oil pan gasket. The cost would be $1164.94. I told them I had to think about it. I called my mechanic in CA and he told me not to have it done because I didn’t have any problems starting or driving the car and should get a second opinion. He also explained to me that my oil pan does not have a gasket and Acura actually uses Honda bond to seal the oil pan. D&D diagnosis didn’t sound right so I brought my car to another two mechanics in the area and confirmed that I don’t have the problems that D&D said I did. Neither of these charged me for an expensive diagnostic test like D&D. After the mechanic fixed my oil leak on Jun 14, I found out part of the problem was in fact the oil filter gasket. I also called the Acura dealer with the part number to confirm that the part was indeed the oil filter adapter and it was also called the spool valve gasket. I called D&D back and talked to Steve because I felt that they should refund my $77.31. They wanted the receipt from the other company, but I did not want them to give the other mechanic's problems. Instead, I gave Steve the part numbers from my receipt. Later, I called D&D on Jun 19 to ask for decision. Steve told me that Dave (the owner) did not have chance to look at my stuff and he will call me back on Friday for the decision. As usual, he did not call so I called Steve Friday afternoon again. He wanted to know if I had the two receipts from D&D. I emailed them my receipt and estimate paper. They still will not refund the money.

The staff are easy to talk to and unpretentious. My estimate came in over the initial estimate, however, the additional costs made sense due to the condition of my van. All costs were explained in detail and there was timely contact due to unforeseen issues. The after-market engine has been much better than the engine Chrysler put in within warranty and has an exceptional warranty included.
Description of Work: My 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Touring blew its second engine (due to a design flaw in engineering, so now i'm putting in a third engine) . My van sat for a year inoperable. They quoted me a reasonable price. Steve was patient and provided options for my repair conducive to my lifestyle and budget. D&D was prompt and understanding of my needs. I was a loyal customer of my former mechanic for 16 years. D&D changed my mind regarding vehicle service. I should have switched to D&D years ago!!! I have since used them for other services to my van and I couldn't be happier. I am so pleased with my experience with D&D and their staff that I am excited to recommend them to anyone who would listen.

I was able to get the vehicle in at 8am because they were willing to take me back home. Wife took me back at the end of the day to pick it up. They repaired what I suspected was wrong and found a few other potential problems which I asked to also have fixed. These guys are accurate and fix it right. Since this is a safety issue the only other place I would have considered is the dealership.

I dropped off my vehicle for the above mentioned problems the evening of the September 25th.I called and spoke to Steve the afternoon of the 26th and I was told the car would be ready for pickup. I picked up my vehicle and paid the bill for a fuel pump/sending unit, and a front hub/bearing assembly to the tune of $958.I drove it to work the following day and noticed the bearing noise was still there and the gauge was still reading a 1/4 tank too much. I called Steve and he scheduled me for the 31st to fix it again. I picked up the vehicle on August 1st and was given another bill for $485! They replaced the rear bearing/hub assembly and calibrated the fuel gauge. The bearing was now fixed but i was still charged full price for the front bearing/hub assembly from the first visit which didnt need replacing and the fuel sending unit for the fuel gauge which is still exactly the same as when i brought it in. I have now paid $1,443.75 essentially for a rear bearing since the front bearing and the fuel sending unit didn't need replacing as the fuel gauge is still broken. Steve said "sometimes this happens" and would let me know if they thought of anything else. Needless to say I never heard from Steve even after leaving a message that i was not happy paying full price for all the unnecessary repairs and the fact my fuel gauge was never repaired. Completely dissatisfied with the total lack of customer service and effort to make things right.

I have been going to D&D auto for years. I was single when I first started and looked on Angies list for a good car repair shop I could trust. I have been so happy with D&D auto and trust them completely with our cars. They have been honest with me and never tried to push anything on me.
