PMX was contracted with the management company I use for my townhouse. When PMX and the management company parted ways, PMX started sending me fake invoices for work that was never performed. Not only did he include on this invoice problems that have never even been fixed at my townhouse, he included such things as extra charges for "dealing with problematic tenants" which is FAR from the truth (I've heard from them three times in two years.) I received an email with a very intimidating "FINAL REQUEST FOR PAYMENT" with this fake invoice. In addition, the several times there was maintenance that needed to be performed on the townhouse, it would take weeks for him to even respond to get over there (for very simple problems). He also did not show up several times for an appointment with the City for a rental license. All these acts are completely unprofessional and inexcusable. And when it comes to generating completely fake invoices, that is fraud. I would STRONGLY suggest you stay far, far away from PMX, Inc. when you want service performed.

I asked steve to be paid because all work is done. He said he's got pink eye and cant see the job to see if it looks okay to pay me.....?? I waited till Mon so the poor soul can fix his eyes. I asked to be paid again. He said he has not received the check from the client but when it arrives he'll send it to me.... :) I said why dont you pay me now because the check is on the way... He asked me if he should put a gun to his clients head to get the money.... ? I said no...i did the job for YOU and not your client....Please pay me. Then he went into a whole spiel how he's got 15 day to pay..... He is a liar and a thief! I said you must pay me now and he started threatening to kick my a** and had a whole holler tirade. I see now he is trying to cause a fight and i encouraged him again to pay me. I googled his name Steve walter pmx and multiple reviews came up...All bad ones. All similiar to what i'm going through. I explained i covered all material and these jobs look great..What is your problem. I have alot money out on these jobs and i have questions to weather your going to pay me or not. I'm nervous about it and you are not easing my thoughts by threatening me. He laughed and laughed and said i was a cheap two bit meth head who lives job to job. ....? ..but he'll pay me. come on over tough guy.... ? he made me wait in his outer cheap office in a lower level of a townhouse for an hour while he apparently was on a business call. I think he had plans for someone to show up and rough me up...Then he hands me a check for $2000.00 ...I said NO! Just pay in full and this will conclude our transaction. He can't because he has not recieved the check from the guy. So he put me off for two weeks and stopped answering my calls. I did finally get a hold of him and he said "the check is in the mail" I sent a letter intending to sue him..He called all laughing and telling me good luck you don't have a prayer. and if i would of put the right carpet in i would be paid.???? Fortunately i had the key to the property still and removed the old carpet until the right one comes in. steve calls me and says what the h***. i sent a check out today...says he's missing tools. about $1000.00. I hang up. cops call to see whats going on. they are on scene at that moment I said right away to the cop..Please ask the worker if all the tools are there. they ask and the worker says yes they are all here. ........ At any rate i will be suing Steve Walter of PMX because thats how he rolls
Description of Work: *** Please do NOT do business with this company. *** I am a self employed carpet and flooring company hired by Steve Walter of PMX to do a Carpet job in Apple valley. He got my number from Craigslist and i immediately went to see him and show him samples. I measured the house and gave him a price of $2880.00 to completely tear out and install the new carpet. He called back and said it was okay to do. I asked STEVE about being paid and he said he spoke to the client and the check is on the way and by the time you do the job it''ll be good. Steve called back again and said "Let's do the Vinyl in the Kitchen too" okay ...again i covered ALL material AND labor and finished the job. I then did a job for him on Upton Ave. 3 small areas. He now owes me $4173.00 ALL work is done and i went out of my way to a nice job for him. I did all 3 three in 2 days.

fencing

We received a quote from Steve Walter, owner of PMX, Inc., to remove the existing chain link fence and install a cedar privacy fence around my mother's yard. In the initial planning stages, Steve was eager to receive our business and assured us he would provide a quality, custom built fence. Steve had done some handyman work for us regarding plumbing fixture and light fixture installation, and we had been encouraged by his his seemingly professional, personalized service. Therefore, we decided to give him our business in lieu of a larger fencing company. After my mother paid the initial down payment, Steve began removing the old fence and prepping the yard to install the new fence posts. Several days passed and work was done intermittently on the fence preparation. Fence posts were installed several weeks post-removal of the old fence. Steve requested another payment, and again, my mother provided PMX, Inc. with money designated for "supplies." Materials began to arrive at the site in various batches. All the materials to complete the project were NOT brought to the site all at once. Work progressed on the fence very slowly. Weeks dragged on and the fence was partially installed. We were beginning to be very concerned, both for ourselves and the disruption we were causing my mom's neighbors. We pressed Steve for a time line to finish the project and he was becoming less responsive to our inquiries. The fence panels were up (minus the support beams), almost eight weeks after beginning the project, but the gates weren't installed. My mother had paid Steve in full per the quoted price, hoping to encourage him to finish the project. After several unpleasant e-mail/phone exchanges, the gates were finally installed. It took over two months to put up the fence from start to finish. And it was ridiculous that we were even put in the position of having to prompt him to finish the project! Still, after all that time, parts of the fence, including the support beams that were to go across each panel were NOT installed. In addition, the old chain link fence that was to be disposed of as part of the quoted price was still laying in the yard. We ultimately had to pay someone else to remove it with their truck and trailer and pay the disposal fee! To make matters worse, boards began warping and splitting within one month of initially being put up, and the gate latches had to be replaced because the gates couldn't be opened. Less than one year later more boards split and my mother and I are doing repairs on an ongoing basis because panels keep coming apart. Today, less than two years later, an entire panel from the fence has completely fallen down! The fence has been a horrible and unfortunate ending to our relationship with our handyman, Steve Walter, who truly seemed like an honest, hardworking guy in the beginning. He does not return calls and e-mails, and he does not stand by his work. This fence was not a bargain and now we are looking at having to pay again for a whole new fence less than two years later! It would have been wise of Steve to recognize a project beyond his capacity and defer the job to a fencing company. We paid for a fence that was supposed to "last a lifetime" and what we received was a piece of junk that is crumbling into a heap. We are embarrassed by this fence and distraught by how much effort is required just to keep it standing. If Steve actually responded to my e-mail and came out and looked at this mess in person, he'd be embarrassed too!

house painters

The painters showed up on time, were responsive to our requests for detail, and got the project done in a reasonable amount of time. However, they did not use deck paint on the stair and decks, and they are now wearing through and peeling. There is a good deal of peeling paint on the siding within the first year. There are also some areas of thin coverage. I tried to address the missed areas and thin coverage areas shortly after the project. After several return trips, I tired of showing them the areas they did not cover and paid them off. Since the peeling paint occurred, I have contacted them by phone, email, FAX, regular mail, and certified mail. They have refused to respond. We are now going to conciliation court to resolve this. Estimates are that we need $3,500 of remedial work to correct their shortcomings.

replacement windows
+ -1 more
I had called a number of contractors who replace windows and no one would take on this relatively small job. I found PMX through an ad in our local Woodbury weekly newspaper. Steve Walter responded quickly to my request for an estimate after coming by to evaluate the job. He provided us with a $17.55 discount because of calling through the newspaper ad. He and his crew of three arrived on time, carefully set up their scaffolding in the entry hall, removed the mill work around the windows without damaging anything and got the old windows out and the new windows in without incident. We had a number of other old windows we had replaced ourselves and I asked if he could take all of them away since we didn't have a vehicle that could do the job. He said he would come back when his trailer was available to get all the windows and simply invoice us for the fee that the dump would charge. I could not be more pleased with the service and quality of work. Highly recommended
Description of Work: Two large windows above the entry door in our home needed to be replaced because the thermal seals on the windows were broken. The windows were heavy and high up and we knew we needed someone with the right skills and equipment to replace them. After we arranged for the work, we learned that one more window in a bedroom also needed to be replaced. I asked if they would wait until we got the final window (that had to be ordered) and do all three and they said yes, we should just call when we were ready to do the work.
