"Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate you being willing to share."
"Thank you for the kind review."
They ruined so much, did not finish, used the lowest quality trades people, broke water lines and never told us ... water went into basement storage room and sat and sat and sat ruining many items. Cabinets have cracks, no one repairs. The refinished floors were so bad we had to pay others to refinish them again and those refinishers told us how terrible of a job we got. ROUGH floors!!
They did not clean up, we now have 3 types of tile in our laundry/mudroom because they never source out the right ones. So when the day came to lay tile they were stuck trying to match from Home Depot.
We had to pay thousands for drywallers and painters to come and fix all their crummy work..... the mesh from drywall showing!!!!! Uneven waves on the walls from not sanding walls properly. Terrible paint job... I could go on for days!!
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! WARNING
"I'm not sure who [Member Name Removed] is. We have never done work for a [Member Name Removed]"
The reason for a C for quality of work are two-fold. After installing 2 windows the carpenter caulked the outside doing a terrible job. The caulk had to be removed and recaulked by another employee. Also, the carpenter trimmed out the inside of the den window, didn't use a level, and the trim was installed crooked. When the demo was taking place the carpenter dinged a wall in spots.
The reason for an F on punctuality is the scheduler left my wife and I hanging out to dry in the middle of the project. We got up early and made things ready for the carpenter to arrive at 7:30. With a no show by 9;30 I called the office and was told he was pulled off the job for another. NO courtesy call to notify us or let us know what was going on. This is inexcusable and really turned us off.
On the positive side the salesperson who also did the ceiling was mostly very prompt and did an excellent job drywalling.
He also coordinated getting the job done right."Thank you for the review. I'm sorry the schedule was messed up on our end. That is always a difficult thing to manage. I trust we worked everything out so you were happy with the end product."
I had a 60's bathroom with a rotten wall behind the tile. They tore everything out and prepped for a larger tub. Replaced everything and it looks beautiful. Will definitely hire again.
"Thank you for the opportunity to work on your house. I has been a pleasure working with you."
"Thank you for the kind works."
All this was to be accomplished over the winter while we were out of state. We knew we were in good hands because the company installed all new windows and doors a couple of years ago. Brian faithfully send us pictures of the demolition and construction on weekly basis. We were kept informed and were consulted often.
The home is now finished and it is beautiful. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail is first class. We are so pleased that we worked with Lake Country Remodeling.
"Thank you for the kind words and all the work over the years."
Approximately 2 months before construction started, we met with Ben and Tim every other week to decide everything. This ranged from doors to trim; counter tops to the toilet; and much more! It was a lot of work deciding all of this in advance, but the benefit of doing it this way was that everything was ordered and waiting in my home before construction started. We didn't have to wait on something being back ordered and ultimately delaying the finish.
Construction began promptly at the beginning of February 2013. The framing seemed like it took no time at all and the duct work was done at the same time. The gentlemen that were doing the work left notes and/or waited for us to come home from work to ask any questions that they had. Following the framing, the shower drain was dug and the water pipes/drain for the bar area were installed. The shower was put into place and water/drain were hooked up. After my electrician did his work, the rough-in inspection was completed. There were a few minor things that were needed, but nothing that delayed the project.
Following the inspection, the drywall started to be hung. This was a messy process and the workers did a fairly decent job of keeping the mess local in the basement. A couple of small and quot;complaintsand quot; that I had with the drywallers was that two electrical boxes were buried, a can light and four ceiling speaker wires that I had hanging were also buried. Ultimately, I found outlets, can light and speaker wires and I ended up cutting them out myself. The walls were then taped, mudded, textured and painted to our requests. The painters did a decent job--I'd give them a C+. Several areas were missed but upon my request, they did come back and touch those areas up.
Next step in the process was to get the non-carpet flooring done in the bar, office and bathroom. Laminate flooring was installed in the office and bar, and tile in the bathroom. All three areas looked terrific! Once the grout was dry in the bathroom, the vanity and sink were installed, along with the toilet. This was also the time that the bar cabinets, sink and counter tops were to be installed. All was going well, until I didn't see the electrical outlets that were to be between the bar top and the lower counter top. There was a slight mis-measurement and we lost about 3 inches--likely due to the backsplash of the counter top being taller than expected. At this point, the counter top was already glued/caulked to the wall and to the supports below. It took a few conversations between Tim and my electrician but it was decided that the countertop would be raised a bit and that would give me my outlets back again.
The remainder of the project went without a hitch. Carpet was installed in all areas, including on the steps. Final inspection passed without any issues.
I rated communication a B because I felt a couple of the issues we ran into would have been best dealt with by asking what they should do instead of doing it first and then and quot;allowingand quot; me to find it and ask about it. As for punctuality--for the most part, the work went on as it should on time; however, there were times when I wasn't sure when the workers would be arriving and sometimes more importantly--when they were leaving. Having a set work schedule (including which days) would have been a nice thing to discuss prior to the project starting.
Overall, I would work with Lake Country again on any remodeling project that we would have. Ben did a nice job walking us through the entire process early on, but once the project was started, I did the majority of my communication with Tim--who was great. He responded to all of my emails/phone calls and answered the questions that we had.
We are very happy with the finished result and have gotten numerous compliments on our bath. Even with the snafu, my mother-in-law would like Lake Country to do work in her bathroom. If we ever decided to do our kitchen, we would rehire Lake Country in a heartbeat. They are all professional, they cleaned up their mess every day, no swearing, very accommodating, and really nice to boot. We are very pleased with Lake Country.
***UPDATE***
Overall the project went well and they finished the job quickly and with high quality. I would recommend these guys to others and would use them again for another project.
